If you are looking for an introduction to the scholarship on Jesus’ parables, this is your academic banquet, feast and be satisfied. If you are looking for an accessible introduction to the parables, this is your desert, you may starve.

This book lives up to its name, as Gowler explores how Biblical scholarship over the past few decades has discussed the parables of Jesus. Gowler gives a good overview, although I felt he did tend to focus more on some scholars than others.
