Ten Years Later: A Hidden Daughter, Neighbors to Lovers Story

Rate this book
Ten years ago, Michele, a free-spirited college student from a big family, had a one-night stand with a mysterious, gruff stranger. They never exchanged names, and she never expected to see him again. Nine months later, she gave birth to her daughter, Rini, whom she has raised as a single mother.

Now, Michele inherits her grandmother’s old home in a small town. When she moves in, she discovers her next-door neighbor is none other than him: Daniel, the man from that night. Daniel, now a retired veteran who owns a successful security company, is grumpy, guarded, and suspicious. When Michele moves in, he immediately accuses her of intentionally tracking him down, which she denies. To protect herself and Rini, Michele lies, claiming her daughter is eight years old, not nine.

As neighbors, they clash constantly—Michele’s sunny, chaotic energy driving Daniel crazy, while his stern routines infuriate her. But Rini bonds quickly with him, and Daniel starts noticing resemblances he can’t ignore. When danger threatens Michele and Rini, Daniel’s protective instincts flare, and Michele sees a softer side of him.

Eventually, Daniel puts the pieces together and realizes Rini is his daughter. Now that he knows the truth, can they begin to work through their past mistakes?

Pretty much everything you assume will happen, happens.. Like him living across the street.. His living in the same town would have given them the chance to run into one another casually. It says several times they were neighbors even knocking out the gate between properties... And yet several times you had him leaving his place across the street... Nice story but again predictable...I was hoping that you wanted us to suspect the obvious stalker, and maybe going another direction... But nope just what you think
