The list of people who might have murdered Detective Gary Mitchell’s brother Brad—and four others—has gotten shorter, but the complexity of his and psychic Dan Porter’s investigations has grown exponentially.

Great ending!
After the disappointment of book 3, book 4 returned to excellence! I enjoyed the twists and turns and excitement of this one. Satisfying ending to a great series. 4.5 stars.

I wanted to know who had killed Brad but this story while exciting was painful and I admit I read this story slower than usual. The members of the SMC were all awful except for Brad and I wanted them to be caught along with the murderer who was smart but insufferable. I knew when Matt, Dan's brother was doing a portrait of someone I knew it was the murderer and that he would be kidnapped and of course Gary would suffer the same fate and rescuing them both was frightening and I didn't relax until both were safe and the murderer died. I agree that an epilogue would have been nice.

...Dan being the smartest one in the room, despite all the experience Gary and Riley have, took me out of it every time.

Rating for the series.
Overall the series was good not great. I enjoyed books 1 & 2, barely made it through book 3 (awful) and found book 4 too drawn out and predictable. Additionally, the flat and abrupt ending of book 4 without even an epilogue or whatever is unforgivable for a series. Horrible decision. Brad's murder was such a driving force for the series and there's barely any moments to process it for Gary, Dan or Gary's parents. Nothing really. The series timeline is LESS THAN A YEAR! Book 1 begins in May 2018 and book 4 wraps up in January 2019. WTAF is that timeline. There's so much trauma and horrible things on top of Gary's sexuality revelations and Dan's finally finding his "dream" man, yet we get NOTHING at the end of the series to enjoy the relief Gary must feel and just to have them enjoy each other. Missed opportunities.
Some of the time wasted drawing out the "who's the killer" stuff could've been used to ground Dan and Gary especially after the whirlwind of their relationship and the cases and attention they've had over the short timeline of the series. The killer POV became tedious and the requirement of Dan, Gary and Riley to not follow logic to drag things out didn't help. Also, this author isn't very good at foreshadowing or trying to obscure where things are headed. The author requires their characters to be both super smart and intuitive but also super dumb and illogical and act against common sense. I don't know if the majority of this was just super obvious to be because I love Strangers on a Train but it immediately came to mind and was so easy to see. Not to mention the stuff with Dan's brother. Talk about obvious set up! Anyway, the series was okay. Nothing amazing and a test of patience and belief after book 2. Book 3 was just so boring and ridiculous and that was kind of the kiss of death for anticipation of book 4. Couple that with minor mystery in book 4 and things just fizzled. Unfortunate.

After half a dozen books by this author, I have issues. But I can't be bothered with wasting time explaining. Let's just say excellent plots ... vapidly stupid main characters constantly doing vapidly stupid things or just not doing the obvious things. Dumbest detectives ever!
“Okay, I’m starting to worry here. He isn’t answering his phone.”
“Want me to track it?”
It was on the tip of his tongue to say yes!
“Not yet, but I’ll bear it in mind.”
"Not yet?!?" You're tracking a serial killer ... and your partner suddenly disappears! Why the f**k would you NOT track his phone?!? You're a cop ... it ain't difficult or time-consuming! 🤦♂️
Even the serial killer himself can't believe how stupid they are! 🤣🙄🤣
There was something familiar about those eyes. Come to think of it, there was something familiar about the encounter. Gary crouched next to him. He glanced into the minivan and saw a man lying on his side, eyes closed. “Hey, is he okay?”
A gloved hand clamped over Gary’s mouth, and a sharp prick scratched his neck. “Not really. He’s dead. How else do you think I was able to take his van? You know, the same van that tailed you ever since you left your apartment? Except you didn’t notice. Not very observant, are you? Considering you’re a cop.”
"Hey, is he okay?" Really? REALLY?!? 😣
Many scenes in all of this author's books like this. If I read anymore of their work, I'm in serious danger of my eyes getting locked backwards in my head from their constant rolling!

This is a really good mystery/suspense that will keep you on your toes and a good finale to Gary's quest to catch his brother's murderer. I suppose it's also a series finale. It's written in three POVs. Dan's and Gary's in third person, killer's POV in first person and this works surprisingly well. Actually Dan and Gary are somewhat overshadowed by mystery killer. And he stays a mystery for a good part of the book. You'll probably think that you know who it is early in the book. Think again. Killer's identity will be revealed much later. One thing is revealing killer's identity but another is to catch the person. It's a race against the clock, because lives are at stake, potentially even Gary's and Dan's future. You'll need to pay attention to dates stated in the title of every chapter, because the narrative switches from past to present.
The story almost completely focusses on mystery and somewhat neglects Dan's and Gary's relationship and some other emotional aspects of the story, like both family's reactions to the outcome of the hunt etc. For me that's what's missing to be a 5 star read and probably one of the best books I've read this year. This could be easily solved with a good epilogue.
Still, it's a page turner. If you are fan of a good mystery you don't wanna miss this one. Just keep in mind it's not a standalone - books need to be read in order. They are well worth the time!

What a conclusion of a great series.
First - this is not a typical romance, it's very much a suspense/mystery with an established couple.
Despite or maybe because of this, you are hooked to find out who the killer is and the why.
Dan and Gary are focusing on how to unmasked the killer of Gary's brother.
It also becomes clear that Brad's killing was not an isolated incident, there is so much more these two and Gary's colleague Riley discover.
The story is written in 3rd POV for Dan and Gary's part but in 1st POV when we meet the killer. This alternates throughout the story with several flashbacks into the past from the killer.
Despite this, it's easy to follow, it's an interesting way to unraffle the truth. On one hand you have the police discovering each part of the puzzle and then you read the killer's motives and thoughts and how the spiderweb of intrigue is set up.
I like that the focus is on the story, not on the relationship. Dan and Gary are now a solid couple, you can see the chemistry and connection. I would say it is the least physical book by this author I ever read.
There are twists and turns, you may never look at a thriller book or movie the same way again.

WOW! This was a fantastic end to the series. I’m assuming this is the last book we get for Gary and Dan. In this installment, Gary and Dan finally dive into the death of Gary’s brother, Brad.
This book has a LOT of murder. Each victim’s manor of death is based on murders from mystery thrillers. The killer remains a mystery until about 70%. The book is told in both third person (the basic story) and first person (the killer’s) POV (normally, I don’t like when 1st ans 3rd are combined but Ms Wells did it in such a way that it worked VERY well for the story). The dates (and times) are listed at the beginning of each chapter so pay attention to that because a good portion is told in ‘flashbacks’.
The book focuses on the murder mystery and not on Gary & Dan’s SOLID relationship (0 smexy times… pssst, the book didn’t need it). Just when you think it’s all over, there’s just that one more little thing. I honestly don’t remember the last time I read a non romance book and enjoyed it so much!

K.C. Wells has written a brilliant series!
This is one of those books that I’m finding hard to compose a review for because it was so spellbinding that I’m having trouble describing how it made me feel. It’s book 4 in a series that should be read in order so that you understand everything that’s going on. This really isn’t a romance but there is a solid romantic relationship between the two MCs who are working together to solve cold-case murders.
This story grabbed me right from the beginning and didn’t let go, just like the first three in the series. It’s a thriller with gruesome murders described pretty much in detail. It’s full of heart-pounding suspense and more than a few surprises.
I’m kind of guessing that this the end of this series and if it is, I hope that KC writes more stories with Gary and Dan solving cases together. If you like stories with twists and turns and nail-biting suspense this is a series that I highly recommend!

This is the fourth and (I think) final installment of this mystery series, and it is not a standalone; these books must be read in order. I’ve been enjoying this series, and this latest installment definitely kept me on my toes.
It was great to see Gary and Dan, to join them in this race against time and a cunning killer. Make no mistake, the mystery is at the forefront and the romance secondary, though we do see the strength of their relationship, how good they are together, how they support one another. Kudos as well to a well-written third POV of the killer, a great portrayal of their psyche and persona that was equal parts intriguing, scary, and creepy.
This series is one of my favorites from KC. The great pacing, the twists and turns kept me on my toes right up to the very end.
Overall this was a great finale, a great wrap-up, and somehow even though this mystery is resolved, KC gives a possible hint of something more to come.
A thriller from beginning to end, I highly recommend this series and this book.

am so behind on getting this done but it was worth the wait. If you have triggers, this may not be a book for you. It does get very gory, and while I love that stuff, it may be too much for some. I'm so glad certain things finally got solved in this. Brad's murder being finally closed I know is a relief. I have to admit I'm going to have to take aa amateur detective class to get my mystery solving badge back. I am so ashamed I totally missed the books. Especially anything with Edgar Allen Poe. I've read most of those books and I totally missed the clues. But then again it has been a while. They were good twists on the whole thing though. I loved that. My biggest issue, is the abrupt ending...so to speak. After everything they went through with the killer, and then....it's just over. Kind of felt anticlimactic. But it's still a very good book. I hope there will be more coming. Riley makes a great part of them and there are more cold cases to solve. Recommend for sure

This is a story about Detective Gary Mitchell and psychic Dan Porter as they work a cold case to find the person who murdered Gary's brother and four others. Their investigation is complicated because all the suspects seem to be lying, but none of them have a clear motive. As they get closer to the truth, they realize an unknown person is watching them and has started a new game, putting their lives in danger.
I loved this story which was a suspenseful mystery with a romantic subplot. It was like a rollercoaster ride as things became clearer and events started to happen faster and faster. There were many layers and they and the reader had to work through them in order to understand events both in the past and present. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Line of Sight by K.C. Wells is the 4th installment of the Second Sight series. Gary and Dan have finally started rolling Sight further into Gary's brother's murder by going to his class reunion. They found several people refusing to shake Dan’s hand but they just chalked it up to knowing he is a psychic who sometimes sees things he touches. While investigating Brad’s murder Gary and Dan find out that there are 5 other murders with no motive which sets them into the different ways each victim dies, their connection with a group of mystery/murder club. When Dan and Gary start getting close they are caught in the sights of the actual murderer. This was a fantastic book that keeps you in suspense and you will not want to put it down for a second.

This was a solid 4.5 stars. I think it was the best book of the series. It is definitely not a stand alone book. You need to read all of the previous books to understand each character and the plot.
I thought it was well crafted. The back-and-forth timeline worked (which I usually don't like). The murders are gruesome, but the author did a good job of not giving painful details of the murders. In the murder mystery genre, I thought this was 4+ stars. I liked how the author integrated several other psycho mysteries into the story. I rounded up to 5 stars because this was listed under a LGBTQ label and was well written for that genre. Plus, I liked all of the references to the book Strangers on a Train and how well it was woven into the story.

The final instalment of the Second Sight series, you won't want to put it down
This is definitely more a thriller than romance book, but you can still see how the relationship between Gary Mitchell and Dan Porter has grown, sex is implied behind closed doors (this is very unusual for KC as her books are normally very spicy).
The story continues as the couple continue the search for Gary's brother Brad's killer. Lots of references to other murder/thriller books as the bodies really start piling up. I don't want to give too much away but there is a twist at the end as Gary and one of Dan's family members are kidnapped and it's a race against time to find them alive.
So sad that this is the end of the series as would love to see how life continues for Dan & Gary
This is definitely more a thriller than romance book, but you can still see how the relationship between Gary Mitchell and Dan Porter has grown, sex is implied behind closed doors (this is very unusual for KC as her books are normally very spicy).
The story continues as the couple continue the search for Gary's brother Brad's killer. Lots of references to other murder/thriller books as the bodies really start piling up. I don't want to give too much away but there is a twist at the end as Gary and one of Dan's family members are kidnapped and it's a race against time to find them alive.
So sad that this is the end of the series as would love to see how life continues for Dan & Gary

I thoroughly enjoyed this series. Gary and Dan they were great.
I loved it came out weekly and you were not waiting long for next book.
Sad it is finished.
Great side characters, Riley, Del, Travers and the families.
Want a Del story.
The only fault I found that annoyed me Gary the detective didn’t do anything Dan solved everything and Gary was meant to be there to detective. I just wished he contributed to solving the cases more in the last three books it was sad his abilities were down played, even Riley seemed more useful in the last book than Gary.

Line of Sight is Absolutely Brilliant could not put this down was hooked from the start full of twists and turns that keep you at the edge of your seat Gary & Dan are closing in on the killer of Gary's brother and with colleague Riley's help realise they are more murders linked to the killer than they realised and he's not finished yet he's loving it leaving messages and presents it's so intriguing if you love murder, mystery and suspense then this series is for you I recommend so much fantastic. 💖

Gary and Dan are a strong couple and this book shows us just how good their relationship is. The two are working hard to find the killer.
I am enjoying the way the author is moving this series along. The characters are strong and there is a good amount of mystery and suspense to keep you engaged. It is nice to see the bond that Dan and Gary have and how well they work together. As time begins to run out friends and associates come to their aid and work to unravel the mysteries. This book moves at a good pace and pulled me in to the story right from the start.

Line of Sight was an amazing read!! Wow!! This book was so well written, the mystery of Brad’s death and a serie of cold case starts to unravel and they link this cases to a few friends of Brad and they call themselves the murder club. I was just so into the book that I couldn’t put down, the details were so interesting and they way they story began to develop was so good!! Dan, Gary and Riley were great working together to resolve the case and finally get the answers for Brad’s case. Amazing book!

This time Gary and Dan are finally working on the brutal murder of Gary's brother. They soon discover that Brad isn't the first person murdered by the perpetrator, nor will he be his last. The bodies soon start piling up, and Gary and Brad realize there is real threat to both of them. Someone close to Brad and his friends knows Dan's secret, and he's not about to let Dan touch him, and be exposed.

The murder enquiry is getting closer to a resolution as Dan and Gary, with Riley co-opted in, close in on the killer.
First, Riley links the methods of the deaths together.
A good secondary character is added to the victim list.
We do ‘see’ the killer’s perspective as some chapters - current and past - are from their pov.
A suitably tense ending with Riley being critical in helping catch the killer

The entire Second Sight series is good with step-by-step progress in the finding whodunnit, but Line of Sight caps off the series by presenting the killer's point of view throughout, something that had been done briefly in earlier books, but not with the thoroughness of this one. The ties to classic murder mysteries is a nice touch as well. It is rather chilling to think that there are people like that out there...

A great instalment. I am not sure if this is the last book in the series but it certainly kept me intrigued.
Loved how we got the killer's point of view too.
Gary and Dan worked well to sort out the cold cases and Reilly helped as well.
I used to be a murder mystery reader, think this might have put me off.

It was well written but I did not like this book neither as much as the previous ones. The murders were so gross and awful. I did not think Gary and Dan's relationship developed much in this book. It was good but was in the background. The ending was anticlimactic. The bad guy would have killed one of them in real life.

AMAZING SERIES!
I started this series years ago and had to stop for a family emergency. When I started over again from the beginning I finished the series in a matter of days. I just couldn't wait to find out who the mad man was. Who could be that precise and plan so much? Great series...fantastic writer. The whole storyline engages you from beginning to end. Enjoy!

This was a great read - I loved the chapters with the insight on the killer.
the ending was a bit .... sudden and I really hope, that this was not the last book as this ending would take away a lot of my enjoyment with this series
