“What’s wrong with her?” Jack asks. Yep, I was right. The entire school followed him here.

“I don’t know,” Trent admits, picking me up, “but I don’t think we should do this in the girl’s bathroom. C’mon, let’s go outside. Some sunshine will cheer you up, right?” he asks me. I would reply, but I’m too busy trying to sniffle up my snot. Yes, it’s that gross. And I’m showing it to my seriously good looking, perfect boyfriend.

I will never live this down.

Trent sits down on the steps, cuddling me. “Is this about Skystep?” he asks quietly. I jerk, so shocked that the tears stop. I stare at him for a long moment before looking down. I can’t come up with anything. “Ditto disappeared in the middle of Rocco’s story, so we were pretty sure something was going on--then we heard you yelling,” he says. “You’ve been looking pale since someone said Skystep’s name, don’t lie.”

“Ye--yeah,” I say, still looking at my lap.

“What happened with Skystep, Em?” he asks, patting my hair.

“She... she killed my parents.”

Rounded up

This is a 3.5 novel. Like the rest of the series, it focuses on one character's perspective as it resolves the tale.
It's good but a bit ... truncated. Not much is resolved by the end; knowledge is gained but nothing else changes. A bit of a disappointment after book eight.

SUPER liked this one!!! It was glorious and I really liked the POV character. Really appreciated the changing POV's of this series, which is a tribute to the author's excellent writing!!!

Good story but...

It desperately needed better editing. For example, a character is referred to by her mother's name and unless there was some very subtle foreshadowing that went unacknowledged by everyone, one scene has four characters where there should have three. The overarching story is engaging but it's hard to not get tripped up on the avoidable mistakes.

First of all, I'm not a fan of the POV character and it did influence my rating. Still, I liked the story. It's great to see that she is growing as well and will be one day a force to be reckoned with.

I was a bit worried for a moment, when they explained her powers. How strong exactly is she? But I think the other powers will remain latent. So yes, she is a telepath, but there is a difference in power obviously. She can keep people out and talk to her clones. That's okay. :)

All in all, the book felt a bit like a filler to me over all. The enemy is back (as expected) and we have a new student too. I hope the next book is about him. :) Besides that it's good to see everyone grow.

Ditto Ditto was a great read (for any fans of the earlier books), it progressed the storyline started in Fire Hazard nicely, gave a nod to the events of Steampunk Time and developed the characters of Emily, Liz and to some extent Trent. It was a bit of a shame that Jimmi didn't really feature, and a couple of new characters were introduced but largely skipped over after introduction. A good next chapter, and looking forward to Sunny Daze (Book 10).

Always a pleasure

I always enjoy reading your books. I have read to many books with high drama or very long action sequences action and your books have the right combination. Can't wait for the next one.

Emily and her duplicate Ditto end up with a second copy! More for Trent (AKA Kid Liberty) to love right? Not when Repeat (the second copy) has a mind for revenge on a more than slightly super villainess. Lets toss the learning to teleport, now you have this book.
