The Order #2
Pretty Savage
Getting sucked into a secret society was bad.
Falling for its ruthless heir was worse.
Now I’m part of a secret society preparing to brand me, bind me to him, and turn our most intimate promise into a public ritual.
Carrson will destroy anyone who threatens me. But the enemy is no longer one man. It’s the world that made him, the father he can’t escape, and the secrets buried in my own blood.
To survive, I have to learn The Order’s rules faster than they can use them against me. I must decide which truths to hide, which alliances to risk, and how far I’m willing to go to claim a future with the man I love.
Carrson thinks he’s the dangerous one.
He’s about to discover I can be savage too.
Pretty Savage is an obsessive secret society dark romance with a ruthless, morally gray hero who is only soft for her, touch-her-and-die possessiveness, dangerous rituals, forced bonding, an us-against-the-world romance, and an increasingly powerful heroine. It is the second book in The Order series and should be read after Pretty Vicious.
Want more from this world? Read the prequel Pretty Ruthless, set thirty years before the events of Pretty Vicious. She’s an outsider on the hunt for answers. He’s the cruel, reluctant ruler who will one day become Carrson’s father. When these two collide, sparks fly and blood spills.
You’re not ready for what happens next.

I have even more questions now, so much has happened and that ending left me spiraling..
We got action, love, deaths, occasional creepy atmosphere and some very important answers, but I'm honestly much more confused now. What is the endgame, how was everything planned, what is truly going on?? For every answer I get, I have a dozen more questions.
Laurel and Carrson are still so good together. I love how she brings the other side of Carrson, how they fight for each other, all their small moments, the devotion, the heat. The piano scene and the strip club were so hot and I do love a mine moment, in every shape and form.
I was actually really sad by how the story of Carr and Becky ended, their book was so good and while I understand why everything happened the way it did, it still broke my heart. Carr, I'll always love and hate that man in equal measures. I know why he's the way he is, but I'll never forgive what he did to Carrson, even if I get where he is coming from. I'll never not be torn about him, but conflicting characters are my kryptonite. That scene at the ball, at midnight, between Carr and his son hurt though.
I never thought Sam is going to become one of my favourite characters, but I adore her, as I do Thomson. They are the kind of friends everyone deserves.
I hate Jackson and his father so freaking much, I hope they suffer, like a lot.
Also, I'm kind of curios about Silas, there's definitely more to that story..
The Order is so much bigger than I ever thought possible and the war that's coming is definitely going to be bloody.. I do hope we get more glimpses into the past, because I want to know what happened after that prologue... And the ending, I'm so scared what's going to happen, I need book three right now!!!
This series is really becoming one of my favourite, it's such a fascinating world, even if I hate everything about it..

What's inside:
- Secret Society
- Blood Rituals
- Touch Her and Die
- Morally Black
- Fiesty FMC
- Lost Identity
- Spice
After reading Pretty Ruthless, the prequel to this series, I have been somewhat patiently waiting for Pretty Savage. Well, let me tell you - it was absolutely worth the wait!!
Laurel is a fun and fiesty FMC - she's the perfect balance for Carrson and what he needs to bring some light to his darkness. I love that she still speaks her mind and fights theough the conflict of what she thinks is right, and what this new life in The Order requires of her.
Carrson.. just.. swoon. 🫠🫠
He doesn't care for much of anything besides Laurel, but he finds himself forced to make tough choices between the woman he loves, his family, and his duty. One thing he won't ever allow is anyone touching what is his.
This book was such a quick read for me. I read this in less than 24hrs because I COULD NOT put it down. The further evolution of Carrson and Laurel's relationship, as well as her further involvement in The Order kept things interesting and action packed - I definitely ignored my adulting responsibilities because I wouldnt put this down. Not even a little sorry for it either.
So now... after that ending... how the HECK am I supposed to suvive until the next book!!
If you enjoy secret society and dark romance with a bit of a southern gothic feel, you absolutely HAVE to read this series. Highly recommend!!
Thank you to Lexi Davis for letting me ARC another book in this series. I am 100% all in and I am here for every book, every ARC, until the end.

Wow! Another brilliant installment in the Order series by Lexi Davis.
This book picks up right where Pretty Vicious left off, and we’re immediately thrown back into the action from the ending of book one. Pretty Savage takes us deeper into the dangerous world of secret societies, where love, loyalty, and the struggle for power collide. For Laurel to be with Carrson, there’s one condition: she must OBEY the ORDER - and that includes taking part in a savage ritual!
What a thrilling read! Once I started, I couldn’t stop. I flew through this book in one sitting - it had me hooked from beginning to end!
I really enjoyed the pacing throughout the book, and I loved how Lexi delved much deeper into the order, giving us greater insight into the influence and control it holds over Laurel and Carrson. Seeing just how much power it has over everyone involved added such a dark and intriguing element to the story, making it even more gripping!
Having read the prequel, I felt like this book had so much more meaning towards the order, and Rebecca and Carr whose story began in the prequel. Knowing their past and everything they had been through, made every moment they shared feel far more significant. It added so much more emotion to their relationship, and made the events unfolding throughout this book feel even more impactful.
I absolutely loved the relationship between Laurel and Carrson. The love and loyalty they have for one another is everything, and I’m obsessed with their whole ‘us against the world’ vibes. I don’t want to say too much and risk giving anything away, but I will say this - their chemistry and unwavering devotion to each other are incredible, and their spicy scenes are on another level!
Lexi is the queen of cliffhangers, and once again, she left me completely speechless! The ending had me gasping, shocked and immediately wanting more 👏👏
Overall, this was such a fabulous continuation of the series. Lexi’s writing, as always, keeps me completely engaged, and leaves me wanting more!
If you're looking for a dark, addictive romance, then you need to add this book and the entire series to your tbr immediately❤️🔥
As this book explores a number of dark themes, I would definitely recommend checking the trigger warning before reading.

I thought the prequel was my fav but dare I say this might be my new fav 👀
This series will keep you on your toes the entire time and I LOVE THAT. You also never know what Carrson is feeling unless you’re in his POV or he’s outwardly saying it. It’s a fantastic twist to keep me intrigued as HELL.
Laurel is still playing along and basically fucking around and finding out at this point. By now, she is realizing how in deep she is.
Also learning more about her history? Damn girl good luck.
There are so many little “Easter eggs” or sentences in this one that stand out and make me question and wonder about EVERY character. I don’t trust NOBODY.
This is starting to feel very cult-catholic/religion x dystopian (there are some modern advanced things that make it feel as such) x mafia and I’m living for it!
Overall

I was so lucky to receive an ARC of Pretty Savage, and I honestly couldn’t wait to dive back into this world! After loving book one, I was so excited to continue Laurel and Carrson’s story and see where everything would go next.
I absolutely loved how this second book continued straight on from book one, so there was no long gap or having to reorient myself with the story. It picked up exactly where I wanted it to, and I was immediately invested again.
One of my favourite things throughout this book was watching Laurel and Carrson become even more of a team. Their relationship continued to develop in such a satisfying way, and I loved seeing just how obsessively in love Carrson was with her. He was always there, constantly trying to protect her, but I also loved that he trusted her enough to let her take control when she needed to. Their dynamic is definitely one of my favourite parts of the story.
Carrson’s dad continues to be such a mystery to me. There were moments where he genuinely seemed to care about Carrson, and then others where he chose duty and the Order over him. I think he’s such a complex character, and I would honestly love to find out more about him. I do believe he genuinely cares about Carrson, but I think he’s terrified of what the Order would do if he stepped too far outside their rules. There’s definitely so much more to uncover with him, and I’m intrigued to see where that goes.
And that plot twist with Laurel’s family history?! I did NOT see that coming! It was such a pleasant surprise, and I really liked the secret connection she had to the Order. It actually made so much sense once it was revealed and added another layer to Laurel’s story. I think it really elevated the plot and made everything feel even more connected.
I also loved watching Laurel and Sam’s friendship continue to grow. I always think a strong friendship is so important in a book like this because, amongst all the darkness, danger and chaos, those little moments of friendship bring some sweetness and give the characters something grounding. Their friendship is definitely one I want to see more of.
I would also LOVE to see more of Silas. I feel like his history is so important to this whole story, and his motivation to find his old love is incredibly intriguing. There is clearly so much more to him, and I’m really hoping we get to explore that in the next book.
And then that ending… AGAIN?! 😭 The cliffhanger was honestly criminal, but I absolutely loved it. (Without spoiling) I was already so intrigued when the sisters were talking about that particular part of their history and the things they had to do within the Order, so getting that tease at the end has me desperate to know more. If we get to see more of that history in book three, I am going to be SO excited!
Overall, I loved this book. The relationships, the twists, the darker elements of the world and all the unanswered questions kept me completely hooked. Lexi Davis has definitely left me needing book three immediately!

Where do I even begin writing a review?? This was once again an insane rollercoaster, but I loved every second of it.
I can't put into words what reading Pretty Ruthless before this (and knowing some background) did to me while reading, but it was SO GOOD.
Carrson & Laurel together are so intense, but I'm here for it. I can't wait for the next one because that cliffhanger?? pffff haha

HOLY ENDING OMG WHAT A CLIFFHANGER!!!!!
I just want to start off with saying Sam has the greatest character growth far in this series, from wanting Laurel dead to being one of her biggest supporters! She has become a great friend to have in your corner.
I’m hoping Laurel takes the Order DOWN!

Book 2 in this series had me on edge!! Laurel and Carrson’s relationship is really being put through the test in this one.
It’s so clear how much they love each other. Even still, The Order wants them to prove it, in such a demeaning way.
“Often, tradition is simply abuse that has survived long enough to earn a more respectable name.”
They are both such strong characters. Wanting to fight for each other and the people they care about. It’s clear they don’t agree with how things are done. And especially Carrson doesn’t want to put Laurel in harms way, he wants to protect her from the very world he’s grown into.
“Now I’m fastening my seat belt. Checking the mirrors twice. Making sure I survive, because of you.”
They support each other in every way they can without The Order interfering. They get more allies. And things are all in all more intense in this one.
“Being afraid doesn’t always mean a person should be removed from danger. Sometimes it means they need someone beside them who can guide them through it.”
4.5 🌟

What an ending! I love a secret society dark romance but this is definitely top tier.
The Order controls everything, sees everything, and your worth is put to the test with everything you do for the order.
Carrson- He has his Laurel but The Order has other plans for their budding romance. Anything or anyone that gets in the way of what the order plans is eliminated. I loved how he would do anything to make sure nothing happens to Laurel.
Laurel- From the ending of book 1 to the ending of book 2 the plot thickens but Laurel is getting smarter with every twist and turn The Order puts in front of her.
I went into this thinking it would end with this book so now I have to wait for book 3 and I’m not okay 🤣😭

Lexi Davis really stepped on the gas with this one. Book two felt bigger, darker, and a hell of a lot more intense, and I was invested pretty much the whole way through.
Laurel was probably my favorite part of this book. She’s starting to realize exactly what she’s capable of, and I liked watching her stop being someone things simply happen to and start making her own choices. She has a lot more fight in her this time around, and that made her character much more interesting to me.
Then there’s Carrson. The guy is still an absolute problem—in the best possible way. He’s ruthless, protective, possessive, and complicated, and the dynamic between him and Laurel brings a serious amount of tension to the story. Their chemistry is definitely one of the highlights.
What kept me turning the pages, though, was the uncertainty. There are so many moving pieces with the Order, the secrets, and the people involved that I never felt completely comfortable about where things were headed. Just when I thought I had something figured out, the story had another move waiting.
I’m not going to touch the ending but let’s just say I finished this one with one thought: I need the next book.
Dark, dangerous, messy, and addictive. This series keeps getting more interesting, and I’m absolutely along for the ride.

Enjoyed this so much! All the obstacles they have to work around to be together reminds me of “one step forward, two steps back.”
Carrson proves his love for Laurel time and time again; defying The Order and his Father, and I can’t say much else without spoilers. I love the found family aspect for Laurel, and how she found some truths out about her dad.
The last 20% had me absolutely hooked.

Thank you Lexi Davis and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for the ARC.
Normally I absolutely adore every book Lexi Davis writes. I do have to admit that it took me a while to get into this story. Pretty Ruthless ended with such a cliffhanger. It took me a while to get over how the situation evolved. Knowing now how the rest of the story unfolds, I get why the author chose this path. The suspense I was looking for definitely entered the story towards the middle/end. 100% liked how it turned out. Will definitely read the rest of this saga and buy myself the physical copies when every book is available.

⭐️ 4.5/5 — ARC Review | Pretty Savage by Lexy Davis
A huge thank you to Lexy Davis and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this ARC. 🖤
Pretty Savage was absolutely mind-blowing. The dark romance, secret societies, hidden rituals and dangerous power dynamics had me completely hooked. The enemies-to-lovers tension, forced bonding and all that delicious touch-her-and-die energy made this even more addictive.
And Carrson?! He really surprised me in this book—in the BEST possible way.
And then… THAT ENDING. 😭 I was literally sitting in my car on my way to a concert, kicking my feet, because I refused to get out before I finished the book. 😂 Priorities.
I NEED ANSWERS. So many answers. The secrets, the relationships, everything that's still waiting to be revealed… I need to know where this is going.
Now I seriously cannot wait for Pretty Wicked. How am I supposed to patiently wait for the final book after THAT?!
⭐️ 4.5/5

A huge thank you to Lexy Davis and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this ARC. 🖤
Pretty Savage was absolutely mind-blowing. The dark romance, secret societies, hidden rituals and dangerous power dynamics had me completely hooked. The enemies-to-lovers tension, forced bonding and all that delicious touch-her-and-die energy made this even more addictive.

I need to send Lexi David my therapy bill. Just when you think everything that could possibly happen to Laurel has happened then BAM that ending. Like ma'am wtf was that! This story has me holding my breath the entire time. Even knowing Carr's story from Pretty Ruthless I still have no love for this man. The crumbs being left in regards to the Order just kept you wanting more. Laurels and Carrson relationship just evolves so beautifully. I need book 3 in my hands
August 14, 2026
Thanks so much to NetGalley and Lexi Davis for allowing me to read this ARC!
This is book two in a series and should be read after reading book one for the best experience <3
Pretty Savage is book two in The Order series. Laurel finds herself way deeper in the order than she expected to be. Now she’s fallen for their ruthless heir and is part of their secret society that expects her to be branded, binded and humiliated in a very public ritual. Carrson will destroy anyone that threatens laurel but the enemy is no longer one man, it’s the world that made him, the father he can’t escape, and the secrets buried in Laurel’s own blood. To survive, laurel has to learn the orders rules faster than they can use them against her. She must decide which truths to hide, which alliances to risk and how far she is willing to go to claim a future with the man she loves.
Tropes:
- secret society
- Dark romance
- Morally grey hero who is only soft for her
- Touch her and die possessiveness
- Dangerous rituals
- Forced bonding
- Us against the world
Lexi Davis has done it again. Written a book that has had me up until the early hours of the morning wanting to know what happens next. This one really shows the darker side of the order and dives deeper into the world building as a whole. It was so interesting to me to find out the origins of it all. I need all my questions answered right now.
I love that laurel and carrson stick together through every single thing. Like nothing they do could possibly put them off each other. Like true fated bonding but dark romance version. I love carrson so much. He’s actually the standard and I can’t wait to see him again in book three. His loyalty to laurel is actually inspiring, I need a man like that. Especially when he’s grown up in a world where it isn’t normal to be loyal to one woman.
This cliffhanger ending is KILLING me already. I need book three ASAP but for now I’ll have to read the prologue book to keep me going (Pretty Ruthless). I just know I’ll be reading all of Lexi Davis’s future releases from now on. I can’t get enough of them. She has such a way with words that has me captivated and intrigued for hours on end. Once again the dark academia/secret society vibe drew me in and managed in a way to make me feel comforted whilst also making me internally panic for all of the characters within.
Thank you again to the author for allowing me the pleasure of reading this book early <3
Bring on 2027 so I can read the next one 😭

I really enjoyed Pretty Savage. I liked getting to know Laurel and Carrson better and their chemistry was definitely one of my favorite parts of the book. The twists and reveals kept things interesting, while learning more about The Order added even more depth to the story.
I’m looking forward to seeing what comes next.
🙏Thank you so much for the ARC, Lexi!

Laurel is now part of the secret society, The Order, because of her relationship with Carrson. They must complete a very personal and very public bonding ceremony, and this book follows everything leading up to it and what happens afterwards.
Carrson is completely controlled by The Order. He has to do whatever they demand, or risk them hurting him or the people he loves.
He’ll do anything to protect Laurel, but little does he know, she’s starting to understand what’s really going on. And she’s more than ready to fight back with everything she has.
💜💜💜
Ok, this might be my favourite book in the series so far!
This one really shows the gritty underbelly of The Order and what goes on behind the scenes. We also get to see Laurel becoming stronger and more independent. She wants Carrson to be her everything, but she can also stand on her own two feet, and I love that.
I loved seeing them become more open with their feelings and finally admit what everyone already knew. It takes a lot for Carrson to let someone in and trust them, and seeing that side of him was everything.
And then that cliffhanger!! 😩 I can’t believe I have to wait for the next book. So frustrating… but honestly, it’s SO bloody good! 🔥🖤

This book is the sequel to Pretty Vicious and the second book in this fantastic secret society trilogy by Lexi Davis. She has once again freaking outdone herself with this one. We pick right up from the brutal cliffhanger of Pretty Vicious and things are not as they seem. Like Laurel, we’re tossed back into the chaos of The Order and have no idea who to trust. The “world building” in a sense is also insane because this is The Order has to be one of the most unique secret societies I’ve read in a dark romance. There are so many layers to this plot that’s just pure genius, and the growing tension between The Order and Laurel and Carson builds into literal fiery explosion. We also learn a lot more about the side characters in this book, such as Carr and Rebecca who have their own prequel (which I will be reading because I cannot get enough of this series) and some even more darker sides of The Order. There even are many conflict moments between Laurel and Carrson but they always find their way back to each other. I totally love them for each other as Carrson tries his best to protect Laurel from his cruel world but she’s got plenty of stuff she’s gotta figure out on her own. I will say there is some filler stuff in this book that just needs to be written, because this is the second book, but isn’t exactly the most interesting. However all the crazy plot angles and revelations totally make up for it and you will not be bored. I loved how we got to see Laurel gain some strength but also wish we had more of Carrson because he is kind of put aside in many scenes. Like the first book there is a killer cliffhanger that had my jaw drop all the way down to the fljoor, and ended with a protective Carrson which I also love. Lexi Davis really knows how to pull at your heartstrings with those endings and my heart is still recovering from the damage. This book is a top tier secret society with so much mystery, suspense and romance that will leave you stunned. I give this a 4.5/5

This book literally grabbed me by the throat and DID NOT LET GO. I absolutely freaking LOVED this book!
Can we just talk about the fact that Lexi Davis is the QUEEN of plot twists and cliffhanger endings?! Because THAT ENDING?! My mouth was literally G A P I N G and I did NOT see that coming. Not even remotely. And now I’m supposed to just carry on with my life while waiting for book three?! Absolutely not.
What I loved most about this book is how plot-driven it is. The spice is spice-ing, but it never overtakes the actual story. The plot matches the spice perfectly, and every twist, reveal, and character dynamic kept me completely invested.
This book was forward-thinking, messy, fun, addictive, and absolutely insane in the best possible way. The character dynamics were EVERYTHING, and I am SO glad we read Pretty Ruthless before this because it put Carr and Rebecca’s story into so much more perspective and showed just how much bigger this whole story really is.
And the way Lexi Davis has plotted this entire story from beginning to end?! ACTUALLY CRAZY. Looking back, you can see how everything fits together, and I’m just sitting here wondering how she even comes up with this stuff.
And then there’s Jackson and his dad. Oh. My. GOSH. If there were ever villains I needed to see get what’s coming to them, it’s these two. I am patiently waiting for JUSTICE to be served.
I devoured this book. I loved the characters, the tension, the spice, the twists, the chaos, and the sheer insanity of it all.
And that ending has officially made one thing very clear:
I NEED BOOK THREE. RIGHT. NOW.
Lexi… respectfully… WHAT THE HELL?!

3⭐️ Thank you NetGalley for an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!!
Unfortunately, this is the lowest I’ve rated any of the books in this series so far. While I still enjoyed the overall reading experience, I found myself much less invested in the plot of this one compared to the previous books. There were definitely moments that caught my attention and kept me reading, but overall, the storyline just didn’t pull me in in the same way the other books have.
I also struggled with one specific scene that I found really uncomfortable and honestly a little gross. It made it difficult for me to fully enjoy that part of the book.
The romance was another area where this book didn’t quite hit the same for me. I loved the romances in the previous books in the series, but I didn’t feel that same level of chemistry or emotional connection between the characters this time around. I was still interested in seeing where their relationship would go, but it didn’t have the same impact on me as the other books.
That being said, there were still aspects of the story that I enjoyed, and I’m definitely going to continue reading the series. The ending in particular left me very curious about what’s coming next!
I'm grateful for the opportunity to have received this ARC to read and review honestly!

Thank you, Lexi Davis, for an advance copy of your book in exchange for an honest review!
Lexi Davis, you have done it again! I simply cannot get enough of this series, and I’m already counting down the days until the next book! I mean, the ending?!?! I NEED to know what happens next!
The book picks right up where the first one ended. The Order still controls the world Laurel lives in, and she has been thrown into it completely unwillingly. Now, Laurel must choose between becoming part of The Order so she can be with Carrson or walking away and starting a new life.
I absolutely loved Laurel and Carrson! Even though being together is difficult because their lives are so different, they continute to fight for each other. Laurel tries to hide things from Carrson, but she does so because she believes she is protecting him. While I didn’t always agree with her decision to keep things from him, I could understand that she had her reasons for staying quiet. Carrson, on the other hand, tells Laurel everything, but he doesn’t always put her first, which ends up becoming a bigger issue the more he chooses other things over her.
One thing I loved about this book was seeing how Laurel has changed. When she first went to the house, she was shy and timid. Now, she’s starting to open up and stand up for the things she wants. One thing about Laurel is that she’s going to do anything for the people she loves. She will put herself in harm’s way if it means she can protect someone.
I could not put this book down once I picked it up! From the very beginning, the action starts, and it doesn’t let up. Every chapter leaves you wanting to turn the page and find out what is going to happen with Laurel and Carrson next. Lexi David has created such a dark, mysterious, and captivating world, and I cannot wait to see where she takes the story next! If you loved the first book, you will definitely need to pick this one up. Just be prepared for that ending because you are going to be desperate for the next book!

Thank you so much, Lexi Davis, for sending me an eARC before release day and letting me read this one early!
Laurel is now deeper than ever in The Order, facing dangerous rituals, forced bonding, buried secrets, and a world that keeps getting more dangerous. And Carrson? He’s still completely obsessed with protecting her. 👀🖤
I loved watching Laurel and Carrson become even more of a team. Their relationship continued to grow in such a satisfying way, and Carrson’s obsession with protecting her while still trusting her to take control? SO good. 🖤
And that ending?! LIKE, REALLY?! 😭

Nooooooo!!! Not another cliffhanger!!! I really enjoyed this book! This was one of those reads where you can’t stop because you need to know what happens next. READ THE PREQUEL FIRST
I cannot stress this enough, it will elevate your reading experience so much in these books. Holy crap. I read this in one day. The way I don't know how I'm going to wait until July for the next book. I have to know what happens next. I really thought the beginning was going to be more. I really thought her ass was gonna be kidnapped for a while Hunting Adeline style but NO Lexi Davis kept me on my toes and flipped the script over and over again. I've had some theories as I read the book, but then it would change and that change and that change would make sense and I'd be like "damn"
Do I stil have a ton of questions? OF COURSE. I also desperately want Rebecca and Carr to get their happy ending, and I wanna meet Rose. Because you know this girl has been hiding in that bunker. Ugh, I need to know more. It's okay, I'm okay.
Lexi, can you be done with the next book and send it to my kindle? k thanks.
Thank you so much to Netgalley and Lexi Davis for the eARC of this book. All opinions are my own.

First of all, a huge thank you to NetGalley and Lexi Davis for sending me an ARC and trusting me with this review. 🖤
This book holds a special place in my heart because it’s the second book I’ve received from this author and the first one was actually my very first ARC ever. So I already have a soft spot for Lexi Davis and these books. 🥹
And now, onto the book… I LOVED IT. I flew through this one because I could not put it down. It was such a fantastic sequel and somehow managed to keep me just as invested as the first book.
And THAT ENDING?! EXCUSE ME??? 😭 I absolutely need the third book now and will be waiting very impatiently for it.
Laurel did get on my nerves in a few places — that’s a separate conversation 😂 — but Carrson… WHAT A MAN. He is officially a book boyfriend. Every chapter he was in was a chapter I desperately didn’t want to end. I could have read about him forever.
Overall, this was such a wonderful reading experience. I had so much fun, I was completely invested, and I absolutely loved it. 🖤

After 'Pretty Vicious' and 'Pretty Ruthless,' I really thought I was prepared for 'Pretty Savage.'
HAHAHAHAHAHA. No.
Knowing Carr and Becky’s past makes the present hurt so much more. I keep hoping things will somehow be different for them, and while I guess we still have one more book for things to potentially turn around, I’m sitting here mourning all the time they’ve lost and screaming internally about how they ended up here. The relationship between Carr and Carrson just hurts and pisses me off so much.
And then there’s Laurel. This woman CAME INTO HER POWER in this book and I was so freaking proud of her. She discovered sides of herself that quite literally had been buried for years and wasn’t afraid to make the hard choices or do the absolutely shitty things required to protect the man she loves. She chose Carrson just as much as he chose her, no matter how things looked from the outside.
These two are EVERYTHING to me. They get stronger, stumble, get stronger again, stumble again, and somehow always find their way back to each other. They’ll be fighting, bleeding, making terrible decisions, protecting each other, and somehow still be like, “Yep. That’s my person.” Their chemistry is unhinged, obsessive, and so freaking hot. The piano scene? The strip club? (thaaaaaaaank you for that NSFW artwork) And you already know I’m a sucker for a good MINE moment.
Also, my hatred for Sam is slowly melting into...something else? I'm not sure how I feel about that. Her and Thomson turning out to be the ride-or-die kind of friends? Me wanting to see more of them? Definitely not something I had on my Bingo card for this series.
We got so much more action, so much more death, so many more secrets, a war on the horizon, some huge political maneuvering, and basically I felt like I was watching an episode of 'LOST' because in the end I had 46 more questions and absolutely no answers.
I literally had to reread the final chapter because I was CONVINCED I had missed something.
NOPE. THAT WAS ACTUALLY THE ENDING.
I am once again begging an author to stop playing with my mental health. I NEED BOOK THREE TO DROP RIGHT THE EFF NOW.
This series has officially become one of my favorites. The world is dark, intense, complicated, completely fascinating, and somehow gets BIGGER every single book.
If you like dark romance, secret societies, southern gothic vibes, obsessive chemistry, morally questionable decisions, and plots that make you question literally everything, READ THIS SERIES.
And if you haven’t read 'Pretty Ruthless' yet, DO IT. Knowing Carr and Becky’s story made this book hurt approximately 900% more.
Thank you Lexi, NetGalley, and ARC provided by Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for the ARC.
