Essence: The Battle
A US diplomat is knocked out by terrorists. When he awakens he is strapped to a metal cot as two people whose faces he could not see, whose voices he could not hear, placed there hands on him and read his mind like it was an open book. They learned about top secret programs, undercover agents, his work with the Agency. He tried to resist and the two touching him released his deepest fears to run unrestrained across his mind like wild animals released from a cage. The terrorists left him on the street huddled against a wall facing his demons and a huge werewolf that watched and listened to his every whimper.
Once rescued by US forces he desperately tries to convey what he knows to US interrogators. But, as he speaks his nightmares come roaring back and he morphs into a 7-foot tall werewolf. The interrogators’ minds are numbed as their deepest fears are released leaving them frozen in terror as the werewolf rips them limb from limb leaving blood and body parts everywhere. Pinned to the floor by the werewolf the lead interrogator feels the werwolf’s fangs touch his face, then he hears a strange female voice coming from the werewolf, “I can see your nightmares!”
Security arrives and tackles the diplomat. No one is injured, there is no werewolf, just a middle aged man going insane.
Dr. Ellen Ridley, Chief Operating Officer of Quanta Corp immediately recognizes the faces the diplomat could not see, the voices he could not hear were seers. They took control of his essence, planted shadows that projected nightmares to others, and made him appear as a werewolf.
Dr Ridley sends Jamie Bennet, her best seer, to face the diplomat’s monsters and defeat them. Jamie barely succeeds in eliminating the frightening werewolf left in the victim’s mind by twin seers with incredible powers.
Dr Ridley and her seers are sent to find these twin-seers and stop them. Jamie and her cadre of newly trained seers are unprepared for the battle they will face.
The twin-seers have different powers and skills. They carry psychoelectronic devices developed by the Soviets in the late 80’s and hidden from Western intelligence agencies for years. The psychoelectronics can blind anyone and disrupt other seer’s abilities.
The twins use their powers to reach deeply into European government official’s minds to give up secrets, persuade innocent people to help them, plant suggestions bystanders will act on mindlessly, and hasten the return of the Soviet Union controlled by an order of seers; new humans.
Some of Jamie’s fellow seers will be compromised, Dr Ridley is kidnapped and interrogated to give up her secrets about enhancing seer’s skills.
The battle will be waged across Germany, Ukraine and finally to Kazakhstan to destroy a Soviet scientist’s machine to enhance essences to create his own army of seers at a devastating cost.
When all seems lost only Jamie’s prowess and her fellow seer’s determination allows them to turn the tables on these twin-seers and the scientist who created them and stop their devastating plans to create a world domination by seers.
