This is the second book in the strike team series. I was very touched by the spiritual aspects of this book and our main female characters journey back to God. There is a large element of mystery in this book as the Community is searching for an arsonist. I enjoy the aspects of the Fire Dept behind the scenes. Mitch, the main male character is an absolute cinnamon roll. The family dynamics in his life are very uplifting and sweet. Callie Jo, or Wren, has been through a lot of loss and trauma in her life. And Mitch is the perfect guy to pull her out, with her yielding to God‘s will in her life. Adorable meet cute. And a very slow burn.
This is a clean, kissing only romance. You could possibly consider it romantic suspense, there’s definitely an element of mystery and danger lurking. The character development is very good. And you really do get to know several people in the series between the two books and especially in this one which is a bit longer and there’s more characters involved.
I rated this five stars because of how much it actually administered to me personally. I very much enjoyed the journey of all of the people involved. I did get an early version so there were some typos, but I’m sure that was fixed after. That’s really the only negative thing I have to say about it.
