Well, ‘Break Me’ was awesome. I’m familiar with and always enjoy Piper Stones’ writing.
Halle is a super strong female character. Alexsey is big, bold, brash—when he needs to be, unapologetically giving, and soooo freaking sexy—you know, basically an all around perfect guy.
Alexsey and Halle go through more than the average strangers that become a bit hostile to each other, that become pretty intimate with each other, that want to fight what they really feel for each other, that go through a roller coaster of situations: drama/chaos/danger/passion/betrayal/redemption, then finally find their HEA. But, their story flows smooth, their attraction rings genuine, and their feelings feel real.

“Break Me” is the fourth book in the “Dmitriyev Bratva Series.” Alexsey is the younger brother of Mikhail Dmitriyev, Pakhan of the Dmitriyev Bratva. The family owned four hotels and casinos in Las Vegas. Through an alliance with an Italian family, Cosa Nostra who had made Reno their own, they commanded both strips with iron fists. This can be read as a standalone, but personally, I would read the previous three books first. Alexsey, aka Alex, unlike his older brothers and cousins, was born and raised in America, not Russia. He attended both school and university in America.
Halle O’Leary is a single mum to her beautiful daughter after her husband Sean was been killed on the job as a firefighter nearly two years ago. She is struggling financially, works two jobs to help pay for her daughter’s medication for her severe asthma. Halle is a very strong and independent woman with a short temper. She is in charge of Engine 57 - Captain Halle O’Leary. A firefighter like her late husband.
Alexsey and Halle’s paths cross whilst she is attending a fire and his car is illegally parked in front of a fire hydrant, restricting access. Ignoring her requests to move his car he “had the nerve to shoot me a look with fire in his eyes. However, he wasn’t seeing me at all or if he was, he just didn’t care. “I’ll be with you in a minute.” She could tell that he “…. Was was also gorgeous. Thick, dark, wavy hair and a strong angular jaw, tall with broad shoulders and an absolutely buff, insanely handsome body.” Smashing the front drivers and passenger side windows so that they could gain access to the fire hydrant, certainly got his attention. He was angry and threatening to have her arrested, plus to pay for the damages.
That night their paths cross again when Engine 57 is called to a house fire at Rockcreek Estates, homes for the rich and famous in Vegas. With the house being fully alight, they need to find and rescue the homeowner. Turned out that she had saved the same man from earlier today, the same one that she could not stop thinking about - Mr Tall, Dark and Handsome.

The electricity was raw and unforgiving between them, but she will still not go out with him! As per standard for Piper’s Mafia Romance stories, it is dark in places, violent at times, passionate in places, full of secrets, loyalties tested and let’s not forget the heat between Alexsey and Halle. The chemistry between them is off the page! A thoroughly enjoyable read from page to page, one chapter to the next - at times you are metaphorical “on the edge of your chair” wondering what will happen next. Overall, I would highly recommend this book and you will not be disappointed 😊

A captivating read, wonderful characters and a wonderful plot that will hold you riveted
Halle and her fire engine team are called to a fire and on arrival they are blocked by a car, she proceeds to break the windows and feed the hose through. Then low and behold Alexsey Dmitryev whose windows she’d broken in rescued by her and her crew from a fatal house fire.
The interaction between the couple is fiery and yet she cannot help but be attracted to the man and when he arrives on her front door and charms her daughter Emily, he offers to take her on a date and from then on he is known as Mr Boyfriend.
Alexsey knows that Halle’s husband Sean died nearly two years ago and that she is having to work several jobs to earn enough for her home and Emily’s medication which is a constant struggle. Then it seems that someone is trying to kill Alexsey and injure Halle as well and this is a constant worry for them both especially any possible threat to Emily.
Halle has been waiting to receive a payout for her husband’s death after it was shown that a piece of faulty machinery led to his death, her brother-in-law had been the one that raised the law suit without even discussing the claim with her, he had also made himself the executor so trying to discover any details had been almost impossible.
Alexsey had been more determined and had been able to discover more information about her brother-in-law and the outstanding money that was so needed for her daughter and also to give Halle a break as she has been struggling to find cash for the last two years to pay bills and medicine for Emily.
I guarantee that readers will be captivated by this story it has been a captivating read.

This book deserves top marks, full stop. Why? Because it gives us a kick-ass heroine in Halle and pairs her with Aleksey, a dominant, gorgeous, stubborn man who was absolutely relentless in tearing down Halle’s walls. Honestly, the man earns an A+ for persistence alone. I enjoyed the push-and-pull and the game of cat-and-mouse they played. The tension flowed off them in waves.
Set in Las Vegas, this Mafia-themed romance follows Aleksey and Halle through one of the best fiery first encounters I’ve read. Aleksey Dmitriyev, part of the Las Vegas bratva, refuses to move his prized car from in front of a fire hydrant. Halle, the fire captain on duty, has zero patience for ego, so she smashes the windows to access the hydrant. Their anger practically crackles off the page, and things only intensify when Halle later saves Aleksey from a house fire.
Halle is a heroine worth admiring. A widow working two jobs just to stay afloat, she’s fierce, independent, and filled with a restless energy that masks the weight she carries. She’s a wildcat, angry, hurting, but desperate for someone strong enough to steady her. Her complicated loyalty to her late husband’s family adds a rich emotional layer.
Aleksey may be a playboy with skewed priorities, but Halle gets under his skin fast. While I enjoy dominance, it needs to be respectful, and Aleksey walks that line, with a few stumbles that make him feel real. Halle fights him at every turn, but he’s determined to break through her defenses, and deep down she craves exactly what only he offers.

She is a widow struggling to make ends meet, forced to work two jobs and has a daughter with severe asthma.
He eventually persuades her to go out with him for one date. He overwhelms her with his attentions, but she stays firm about one date. As they are leaving the hotel they are ambushed, not injured. Halle gets a ride share back to her home not wanting to get involved with the police.
The interaction between Halle and Alexey is antagonistic until he facilitates her daughter Emily's asthma being treated emergently.
Meanwhile Alexey and the Dmitriyev Bratva are dealing with significant sabotage on their empire.

Halle O’Leary was just doing her job. She rescued Alexsey from a house fire. She knew who he was. He was not a man to get involved with. Alexsey has an idea as to who tried to kill him. His encounter with the beautiful fire Captain was electric. She broke the windows to his car for obstruction, and that was the first meeting. When one date starts out great and ends badly, the adventure begins.
Alexsey knows the Papadakis Family has painted a target on him. But worse, they have now also put one on Halle and her daughter Emily. But it gets worse. Her brother-in-law is involved with the Greeks and a whole lot more. The chemistry with Alexsey and Halle is hot. She knows how to push his buttons. She makes him want more then he ever has. When things take a turn and Emily is involved, anger comes full force. Halle is no fool. She isn’t about to let Liam get away with what he is doing. I would say grab a tissue. There are times you are going to be crying. I enjoyed this story. I am hoping the next one is with Sasha. He has a little girl and needs a woman to bring it all together.

When she ends up saving him from a fire right after, it seems that fate is conspiring against them. She is a widowed single mom trying to do her best and this hot Russian is quickly trying to take over. She thinks it will be a quick one night stand to get him out of her system, but he has other ideas. He is part of his families Bratva, and figures out quickly her late husband is entangled in the mess his family is currently navigating, and when she and her daughter are threatened he jumps in. He is an OTT alpha that is not adverse to spanking his naughty girl when she doesn't behave. This one is hot and spicy, and they have a chemistry that pulls you right in. They have physical attraction but they also have the push and pull banter that makes it a fun ride in addition to a steamy one. This one is worth the read.

I loved this book, I wasn't sure what to expect from this one just based on the title, but I enjoyed every word of this book so much. The relationship between the two MC's was amazing. I loved how even after Alexsey found out that Halle had a daughter it didn't scare him off, instead he doubled his efforts, and even helped Halle not only get her daughter the best medical care possible but also helped her get the right medication without being asked.
Break Me is about a strong, independent widowed mother to an amazing little girl named Emily and a strong, domineering Russian bratva leader who is used to getting his way no matter what and what their relationship was like.
There is plenty of spice, lots of fighting, --between the MC's and the Dmitriyev's enemies--fires to fight and a kidnapping along with some murder. If any of those things scare you don't read this one, but if you do read it, you'll love it ;).

OMG, this story is absolutely fantastic!
I fell in love with Halle, an over the top female protagonist who won't take any lip from Alexsey as she smashes his car windows to hook up hoses to the fire hydrant that he blocked. Yet there is something about the moment that sets the stage for the story. Halle risks her life by going in alone to ensure no one is inside the house fire, may be precipitous when it is Alexsey whom she rescues. Though the old saying "No good deed goes unpunished" will play on repeat as these two heat up the sheets, while her deceased husband's family play a role in Alexsey's bratva family's misfortunes and her son's health issue is ever present in Halle's mind. While Alexsey believes he can pull Halle in to his life without repercussions, he'll soon learn that is anything from reality. How will it all play out? You have to read to find out and don't expect to put the book down until you turn the last page!

This book concentrates on Alexsey Dmitriyev and his story is as captivating as the woman who grabs his attention, Captain Halle O'Leary, who rescues him when his house burns down. Halle is widowed and looking after her daughter Emily, who is adorable, with the help of her sister, Kristine. When Halle goes out with Alexsey she finds herself with a target on her back as well as Alexsey. Determined to find out what is going on and who is behind it, Alexsey will do anything to protect Halle and her daughter, despite Halle's tough independent nature. Hot, steamy and full of drama, action, suspense, betrayal and with many twists and turns, there are still some beautiful moments throughout and the HEA is heartwarming. I am really enjoying this series and it is definitely worth more than five stars.

Rarely do I give fives. Let's get that out of the way. The story has to earn it and this one did. I started off laughing with the first meeting of Halle & Alexsey & ended up crying at the end with Blazer & a ton of action and spice in between.
Halle is a strong determined woman who lives for her daughter. She's intelligent, full of sass, and doesn't listen when she's determined. Alexsey isn't looking for love, but it finds him anyway. He's intelligence and controlled. That's until those he loves are in danger.

Halle is sassy and a straight up badass! I was hooked from the first page! Halle and Alexsey have an instant spark even though their first meeting was a disaster, but fate keeps throwing them together. I was rooting for them from the very start. Both have big personalities and even bigger egos. I loved how they are drawn to their argumentative and feisty demeanor causing humorous witty banter. The built up tension, sweet family moments, high stakes suspense, and fiery passion made this the perfect masterpiece. A great Mafia meets hero romance with larger-than-life characters that I instantly fell in love with!

Alexsey hadn't had a serious relationship for a long time and Halle hadn't been with anyone for a long time. She'd spent all her time taking care of her daughter and making ends meet, until Alexsey came along. He was so annoying, but she couldn't deny that she felt a connection to him, even though she'd been warned to stay away from him. Threats seem to come from all around, putting her and her family in danger. It's a fast paced, action packed adventure, that also shot and steamy romance. What a fun read!.

I loved everything about this story. It has a great storyline, full of action and danger. I loved both Alexsey and Halle and the interaction between them went from 🔥to🔥🔥🔥 in a very short time but my favorite was Emily. She added so much to this story that she quickly became one of my favorite. The story is well written with never a dull moment and full of surprises and suspense. It’s definitely worth reading.

Later she ends up saving him when his house is on fire. She tries to ignore his demand to go out. He is good with her sick daughter Emily who calls him Mr. Boyfriend. The steamy mafia read will capture your heart! I loved it, it had me laughing at points!

I thought that this book was amazing. I just loved Alexsey and Halle and their incredible chemistry. I also thought that the dynamic between these two was something special. Alexsey was as intensely dominate as you'd expect but there was an unusual fire and strength to Halle that isn't always very common in these D/s stories that I found refreshing and appealing. She was a strong, capable woman that felt exceedingly genuine and relatable. All and all, a steamy, kinky, steal your heart and make you swoon romance.

I love Piper Stone's books and this is no exception. Captain Halle while responding to a house fire, she has to smash the windows of a car that's blocking her firetruck. Threading the hose through the car. Later, she saves the car’s owner Alexsey Dmitryev, from the fire. Alexsey shows up at Halle's home and he winning over her daughter Emily and gaining the title, “Mr. Boyfriend.
Someone trying to kill Alexsey and hurting Halle or Emily doesn’t matter. the crosshairs too. This is action packed, fiery, suspense and full
