Could you handle working in Hell? Cross through to another realm with this standalone why choose romance to face some deadly trials, try to uncover who is spying for the enemy and fall in love against all odds. Perfect for fans of Throne of Glass, Squid Games, and Hunger Games.
Ten years ago the last recruitment games in Hell went up in flames. Literally. The Angels managed to sabotage the whole event and no one got out alive.
Now it's time for the next round and Hades has ninety-seven hand selected recruits to put through three rounds of interviews - each one deadlier than the last. But he's convinced the Angels are planning to strike again and so, as his ninety-eighth contestant, he's sending in his best weapon: The Death Bringer, a.k.a his head assassin and one of his most loyal demons.
For Tacita, it might be her biggest challenge yet, to go undercover as a human and figure out who the spy is amongst them. But she's a professional, ruthless, and confident that she can pull it off. Even if the shifter Hades has put in charge is a total prick and two of the human contestants keep being a big distraction.
Hell's Weapon is a why choose/poly romance. All three guys end up with the FMC, she is not made to choose, and two of the guys find love with each other as well. This book is spicy, does contain some violence and the characters are demons and convicts - expect them to be morally grey.
Arc Review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thanks to Wings & Words @bookish_butterflybeth & @elle.reid.romance for this arc.
Elle doesn’t hold back in Hell's Weapon, it's like bomb drop straight and death and our FMC Tacita, thats when you know shits about to go down & is going to be fiesty from the start! And Hades.. 👌
My fave line was "officer panther-on-a-powertrip" & "officer butthead" I cackled so hard.
The majority of it being set in the underworld is pretty epic. Exploration of hell, angels, demons, death. With plenty of spice, humour, chemistry, betrayal. It had it all!!! And the fact she was a boss ass FMC through everything was icing on the cake.
Ive read all of Elle's books so far. And this is just another to add to the list of recommendations!
I absolutely loved this, this is one of the most captivating books I have read in a long time. I thought id get a little lost with all the different POVs but boy was I wrong. Each POV and character gave so much to the story, and even though I had guessed the suspect early on it it didnt default from the story.
there's so many different elements to this book, it was spicy, it was gritty and it was fast paced - definitely one of the best books of 2026 so far.
Sometimes fantasy can get all wrapped up in its own seriousness. This, this was just fun! This book is chaotic in the best possible way. Sharp banter, high stakes, morally questionable decisions made with full confidence. I had so much fun with it.
Wyatt is pure, weaponised Irish charm. He flirts with anything that breathes regardless of gender or species, walks into danger like it personally invited him, and somehow backs it all up with fierce loyalty. Under the chaos is someone deeply protective, and that balance makes him impossible not to love.
Milo completely stole my heart. Quiet, mostly non verbal, carrying heavy trauma, he spends the entire book just wanting to belong. That need leads him to attach himself to anyone who shows him care, whether they deserve it or not. But his devotion is not weakness. It is strength. And Chapter 47… Milo’s letter… is the emotional core of this story. Everything about his journey builds to that moment. He was willing to sacrifice his entire self to save the people he loves. Not for glory. Not to be remembered. Just because they mattered more. It broke me.
Tacita, Hades’ top assassin, is the definition of controlled power. She built herself into the Death Bringer, cold and independent, until that identity began to bleed into her real self. Watching her realise she is valued as Tacita, not just as a weapon, was such a strong arc. She does not become softer. She becomes more herself.
And Garrick. The grumpy panther shifter. My personal favourite. Quiet, intense, simmering heat in every scene. I wanted more of him. Every interaction feels like standing too close to a fire and deciding not to step back.
This book balances chaos and heart so well. I laughed, I swooned, and then Chapter 47 quietly shattered me. If you want sharp characters, emotional depth, and just enough fire to keep you hooked, this one delivers. 🔥🐆
Oh WOW. This book is so good. I don't know a lot about romantasy, but for ME, this book is kind of a fairytale retelling. There are so many "official " characters. I didn't know about Tacita (only through the acknowledgments), but there are a few other huge characters, even though they are only side ones. Hm, am I allowed to say Hades is a side character, or will he punish me for that? 🤔 Honestly, if I end up in the Hell realm, I'll be happy. I definitely liked the demons more than the angels 😎
This story definitely has quite a few surprises. It has action. And it has so much more. There is one part at the end of the book I had to cry so much 😭
I'm not sure if I read a why choose book where the MMCs were SOOO different. Of course, they are most of the time, but here it's really significant. Wyatt is strong, masculine, blond, Irish, a ser!al k!ller. But at the same time, WOW. He is so soft. So extremely sensitive. Garrick is a bit dominant, not like a dom, just alpha. I think his job requires that. And Milo. Oh Milo. He is the puppy in this trio. Not just because he's the youngest, he's also the quietest one. He's a typical nerd. He's a hacker. Seeing Wyatt with him is soo cute 🥰
Tacita? Oh, she is hellfire 🤣 I loved her so much.
I already said, Hades is part of this story, and he, as well as Khaos, are my favorites 😁 I had to laugh because of them so much 🤣
I definitely found my romantasy author 🤩 I love romantasy books, but it's no secret that I have problems finding the right ones for me. I DNF more than I finish, but I know if Elle writes them, I'll love them 🩷
Thanks to the author for trusting me with an ARC 🩷
Tropes: ⚬ Why Choose MMFM ⚬ Demons x Angels ⚬ Deadly Trails ⚬ Secret Identity ⚬ Spicy ⚬ Found Family
This book was so good! Its a fast paced, steamy, heart in throat kind of book and i wish i could read it again for the first time.
Tacita is an absolute bad B and i love her and the way she handles herself. She doesn't need any help from anyone! She is Hade's top assassin and its nice to see a FMC who isn't tragically hurt in some way. She has loving parents and a good job! I really enjoyed this.
Wyatt made me smile so much. He is this big bundle of Irish joy that made me smile no matter what. Plus the fact he keeps breaking out of places made me laugh so much, he is such a menace! But with the menace is the sweet, he is utterly devoted to Milo and Tacita and i love that he turns into a sweetheart for them so much.
Milo. sweet sweet Milo! God i knew the second we was told he couldn't talk my heart was going to break when i found out why. I've read a couple books where ones of the MMCs are mute and it always makes me cry. A good cry, but sad for then. If that makes sense. His story he wrote?! ELLE YOU BROKE ME! I was SOBBING!
Garrick is our grumpy shifter! The fact he was around Tacita and had no idea who she was made me giggle, epically when he had seen her in her ego form as well. I love how you can slowly see his walls break down and he opens up to Tacita and even Wyatt and Milo. Plus he has such DADDY vibes i adore it!!
Now, i realllly want a little novella on Hades and Khaos meeting because i LOVED them two!! They were so cool and fun, i bet their book would be great!
I really hope we can dive back into this world one day.
Thankful for this ARC read 🙏 The starter of this book describes a “squid game-esque” vibe of 98 recruits/criminals for the chance to gain immortality and protect Hell, by completing challenges. Whilst completing the challenges, murders begin to crop up with the other recruits in the process, to which incognito FMC and Grumpy MMC are trying to find the murderer. Looking for the planted Angel trying to sabotage them at every turn…
Breaking down the characters, they are all executed perfectly and I love that each character holds a completely different personality and aura. The Wyatt x Tacita x Milo trio hits me in the feels at how quickly they’ve formed their friendship and perhaps… more 🤭 Wyatt gives me strong Ridoc vibes, with a goo-ey centre, Milo I want to protect from the world, Garrick can recreate the office scene with me 🤭 (iykyk) and Tacita.. I wouldn’t choose either 😅
Continuing on, the stakes amp up and the emotional side surrounding our why choose hits all the way in the feels. The twist that is revealed is one that you don’t want to be true, but is, yet remains wholesome with how it is resolved. The sexual tension could be cut with a BLUNT KNIFE, spice levels are UP. Dominance is seen from all members of the why choose, which is juxtaposed to the gentleness they all have do eachother. This is 100% a touch any of them and face dire consequences. 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
Shifted into this one with all the relish of a demon 😈 4.25 ⭐️
Tacita is employed by Hades who has given her an undercover job which means ending up in a prison and subsequently, being sent to Hell. She has to keep her identity secret and pass herself off as human, what wasn’t on her agenda was to fall for two inmates. Though, they’re all holding secrets themselves which start to come to light as you read. During the challenges, it’s a game for all but in between humans are being deleted which should be investigated by Tacita but the Head Guard has other plans…
I received this via an ARC from the author and my review is based upon my own opinion. It’s a 500 page read, NGL it really engrosses you so much that I zipped through it. I mean it’s a paranormal poly read with three men; two are humans, one is a shifter, so it’s all fun and spice when they get together. The storyline kept you turning the pages, the twists coming at you and the camaraderie between them all is great. The word building means you envisage yourself right there with them all, there is so much to take in when reading this story that time just flies by and I don’t want to give too much away.
Hell’s Weapon had me up till 3am. I was hooked the whole way through.
It explores hell, death, demons and angels, but it isn’t heavy or relentlessly dark. It’s more of a light-dark fantasy. There’s tension, betrayal, humour in places, and plenty of chemistry, but it never felt dark or gloomy.
The character dynamics were my favourite part. Everything shifts and tightens as the story goes on, and by the end I was invested. The FMC was a strong presence. She wasn’t timid or reactive, she owned it without being overdramatic and stayed the boss throughout, which I loved.
And Wyatt… H E L L O. He brought the right energy to the story light anf
Now, hear me out, I usually roll my eyes a bit if spice appears before the 30 percent mark. It often feels rushed to me. There is quite a lot of it here and it comes in fairly early, which normally wouldn’t be my thing. But the tension, the flirting and the build-up genuinely worked. It felt natural rather than forced, so I didn’t mind it at all.
The plot stood firm throughout. It wasn’t just there to carry the romance. There was a solid storyline running underneath it all, and I really enjoyed this take on the whole an and demons theme.
This is definitely worth picking up and I’m so glad I got to read it!
I genuinely don’t even know where to start with this book… This is easily my favourite romantasy read so far! From the start this book had me hooked.
The characters- I adore every single one of them! They all have their own personalities that are completely different but shine through amazingly. Wyatt’s first line had me and I knew I was going to absolutely love him! Milo what a little darling he is, he may be mute BUT he’s never dull or quiet. I adored how his relationships throughout the book grew and he remained the sweetest soul. Garrick= daddy. That is all. 😏
And then we have our bad ass FMC tacita. What a women she is! Stands her ground and doesn’t take shit from anyone knows what she wants and will not give up until she has it. She is the kinda women I want to be 😂
This book is laced with something I’m sure because I couldn’t put it down 😂 If you want something that keeps you hooked has a brilliant story line and some amazing ✨smut✨ then this is for you! Absolutely a 5 star read for me and it’s secured the top spot for my favourite read. I need this book is every format I can find, paper back, hard back, special edition you name it!
Hells Weapon... where do I begin?! A book set mostly in the underworld where Tacita finds herself in a job that is not like her usual role. Surrounded by potential suspects to a plot of destruction by the Angels, Tacita must weed out the spy whilst being caught off guard by her own feelings and actions. This MMFM why choose was SO hard to put down that I finished it in just over a day, I was hooked from the first page. I loved getting to know about all the different characters and how they each brought something to the table. I also like the (possibly unintended) message of people not being what they seemed and being able to surprise you. The spice in this book was beautifully written, the way the scenes were written were respectful and descriptive enough you could imagine what was going down without having to try and do your own gymnastics at home to try and figure it out! I absolutely adored this book and will be highly recommending it to other people.
I absolutely loved this book! I went in knowing very little—aside from a couple of tropes—and I’m so glad I did because I adore being surprised. And surprised I definitely was.
The FMC is exactly my kind of heroine: strong, capable, and completely badass. She can hold her own in every situation, and I loved watching her dynamic with each of the MMCs unfold. They complement her perfectly in different ways, creating a relationship that feels balanced and intense.
This was also the first time I’ve read an MMFM where one of the MMCs isn’t the typical big, dominant alpha—and I have such mixed feelings about it (in a good way!). I really appreciated the different dynamic it brought. Wyatt’s vibe added something unique to the group, and of course, our broody panther shifter completely stole my heart 🥰.
A huge thank you to Wings & Words and Elle Reid for the opportunity to read this ARC. I can’t wait to see what’s next!
I’m beyond grateful to @Elle Reid - Romantasy Author🖤 and Beth @Wings & Words for trusting me with an early copy of Hell’s Weapon — and wow… what a fucking epic ride.
From chapter one I was hooked. Tacita = certified badass FMC. She’s bold, unapologetic, “ask forgiveness not permission” energy, and she KNOWS what she wants.
✨ Multi-POV (but super easy to follow) ✨ Complex, layered characters you can’t help but obsess over ✨ Dark romantasy vibes done RIGHT
I honestly could NOT put this down. If you love a romance that demands your full attention and drags you straight into its world, you need this on your radar. 📅 releases 3 Mar 26 💋
This book has it all: Why choose/poly Dangerous games Demons, shifters, humans and angels A badass FMC MMCs you will want more of
I devoured this book, it’s fast paved and full of action, romance, heartache and danger.
Each of our MMCs have such unique personalities and this book had to be a why choose because there is no way you could only pick one.
Wyatt with his Irish charm and easy banter. Milo who doesn’t talk and is a sensitive soul, battling his demons. Garrick who is grumpy and brash but whose heart is big for the chosen few… what’s not to love!
Of course Tacita, our Bad b**ch FMC. I adored how strong she was but would ask for help when needed. She is one of my favourite FMCs that I have read and I adored her.

Was given this as an arc . Thank you so much Elle Reid.
This book absolutely wrecked me.
Strong FMC? Yes. Demons, underworld trials, and constant danger? YES. Sexual tension so intense I nearly choked on my pizza while reading? UNACCEPTABLE (but also thank you).
The why choose dynamic works, the characters are weirdly relatable for people fighting demons, and the spice level is unholy 🌶🌶🌶🌶. Like, “do not read this in public unless you enjoy chaos” spicy.
Dark, addictive, and feral in the best way. Half a star docked only because I wanted more—but I devoured this anyway.
“Oh my God” sorry I mean “oh my demon” This book was fantastic and fun, MMFM why choose, paranormal dark romance with deadly trials and a murder mystery to boot. So many different demon creatures and shifters to list. I couldn’t put this book down I was invested in the characters, the story and bonds (love story) forming between characters. When the spice happens damn 🥵 well let’s just say my husband enjoyed the book and he hasn’t read it lol 😂 5⭐️ read with a 3.5🌶️ level.
This why choose romance should definitely be on your tbr this year.
Elle’s writing has you locked in every time.
I loved the way Hell realm was writing and the perception of Hades. The character building was exceptional and it showed that romance can come in the most unlikely bodies and at the most unexpected times.
This read had badass FMC, spice, romance, murder, friendship and action. It’s the perfect read and I need more.
Thank you for the opportunity to be your arc reader again I can’t wait to see where you go next.
WOW 🤩 I couldn’t put this book down. From start to finish I was hooked! Even though this book is about demons, angels, hell etc it’s not heavy and not too dark. The relationship building between the characters was impeccable and a good plot twist there too. I would highly recommend this book to romantasy readers! Thank you for a couple of days with Wyatt, they were epic 🥰
This book had me hooked from the first page! I loved every single second of it! It was so well written, the world building was superb and the characters backgrounds were everything. One of my favourite books of the year, so far! 🖤
Hades is looking to hire some help. He’s the god of the underworld and only wants the best to ward his lands. Would you be brave enough to apply for the position?
Hell’s weapon is an interesting concept. It mixes fantasy with the ‘real’ world. When times get tough it’s easy to depend on the people around you, especially when they’re going through the same thing.
Told from multiple POV this tale promises trails, why choose relationships and morally grey adventures.
This was my first book with this author and I was into this story from the very beginning. I loved the strong FMC and the concept of the games to earn a place in he’ll. Also, these characters grow on you so fast and the way their story progresses is amazing. I highly recommend this book. Strong FMC ✔️ Deadly Games ✔️ Why Choose ✔️ Forbidden Romance ✔️
Wow!! I couldn't put this down and honestly I didn't want to. I loved it, loved having a bad ass fmc. Loved the mmc's and their relationship. I need more of them and want more of the other characters.
Really enjoyed the plot aswell as the spice but not too overwhelming for a why choose the fmc badass and the men in the book you get a few different personalities really makes you 😍 the characters suspense and plot twists too it’s got it all in spades
I was lucky enough to be sent an advance Kindle version of this particular book.I can honestly say I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and would highly recommend it to other readers
The relationship between all the MMCs was so cleverly done.
This was longer than I expected but I could not put this book down.
The plot had me gripped to my seat and the character development was pure bliss. The twists in this book I did not see coming and the author kept me engaged from the very start.
I really hope we see future books in this world.
If you’re hesitant on picking up this book I would say don’t hold back. It was such a wild and fun ride and I can’t wait To see what is next.
