Spoilers?

Alright so I went to read book four and it said I had to read the novella so I back tracked and read it. I will be honest and say I am not sure why we had to? maybe the birth scene information where she has the symbols? Because the rest was just a simple flash back of her parents.

It was okay, but I almost wish we had information on when they lost the guys? meeting at school and getting connected is fine, but the information surrounding losing Rue may have been more interesting. but alas forward I go!

Wow

So I marked this for spoilers, although I don’t know if they’ll necessarily be spoilers.

It was great to see how Reveries parents met, especially with the ones we haven’t met or we’ll never meet possibly.

It was also insane seeing how deep the hatred Selene has toward Adelaide even before. And suffice to say that it would’ve been anybody who she would’ve gone after had Sly been a part of their faction as well, not just Adelaide’s.

Selene was and still is to this day completely obsessed with him. Her sociopathic and psychopathic tendencies were even prevalent when they were in college. So to see that she hasn’t changed except for getting worse is insane

Also, I kind of feel like I know where the epilogue was leading us, but I also really wanna know if I’m right. That’s gonna be insane especially with how book 2 ended and that’s how we’re picking up and book 4. Which I know makes no sense to everybody who’s probably reading this book 3 was her parents Novela.

I’m excited to see how this ends

I loved getting to see the parents’ story and how they first met. Their instant connection was so beautiful, and it really made me smile—like mother, like daughter. 🥰

Of course, the twins are double trouble, and I absolutely love it. They bring so much chaos and fun to the story.

This book also helped me understand more about Selena and the role she plays in everything. Seeing more of the bigger picture made the story even more interesting.

I was honestly so happy when Beatrice was finally killed—those two are truly devils incarnate. Now I’m just waiting for the moment when Selena finally gets what’s coming to her. I can’t wait to see how it all ends.

Reverie 2.5

This made me angry. I wasn't going to read it because I dont care about her mom and I didn't want to go backwards. But when I went to skip it the author starts the next book saying this one is a must. Spoiler alert, it's not.

Nothing important happened here except Reverie's birth, and that could have been a first chapter.
Instead we get a novella of unnecessary fluff, which snatched me r I right out of the story.

Perfect Novella

Omg this was so good!!! To see Revs parents and how her mom is like I love her mom she’s so perfect and badass and the personalities of each dad! Sly and Frosty missing in first part of series sucks. Makes a great story but sucks no less!! But I hate Selene!! I can’t wait to read the last book now and see her fall!

Short, sweet and perfect!

Well that was unexpected (i never check the length of books) but lovely all the same.

It was so nice to get Adelaide, John, Jesse, Sly and Rue's back story.

It was nice to get a bit of calm before the storm of which I'm sure the final book will be, I've can't wait to start!

just wow

The writing is positively fantastic. Only lost one star for the fact this should have been a novella or a book 2.5 though it was so amazing seeing Adelaide and the dad’s story unfold. However it derails so much into their story it’s like a whole new investment. A little warning would have helped understanding we’d get this addition.

Ok

While I loved getting Adelaide's story, it was a disappointment not to continue the story of the series I thought I was reading. I feel that this book could have been left for another series or something. I wasn't expecting a background history. I was expecting Reverie's story to continue.
I'm not suggesting that this story is bad. It was fine. I just wasn't expecting it.

Excellent insight to the beginning

I found this book intriguing because we learn what is truly special about Reverie. We learn more about life before the war, which sounds pretty much the same as life after. Would highly recommend this short origin story.

great interlude

Nice little back story of reverie’s parents … honestly they need an entire series themselves! Great quick read. Funny. The author recommends you read it before the last in the series.

it's a cute little background story from Adelaide and her men. I like that we find out how she found her faction and get a little bit of a story behind the parents of Reverie.
it's great to get to know Rue and Sly because to this point there was not much about him.

insight

I actually really enjoyed getting to meet our fmcs parents and learning how they met. It gives us insight to them but also we can see a little bit of reverie in her parents

Meh. This book seemed pointless. A whole book from the parents pov about their school and daughter being born. Great to get back story but a whole book isn’t necessary especially when reverie is the main character and has so much to unfold still.

quick recap

I enjoyed this flash back novella. The last book ended really tense and with a lot of dread. It was nice to get a little break from what I know is going to be rough to read and get a flash back to where this rivalry all originated

Crying

Oh my gawd. I'm so glad they got their own book/novella! Their story is so so sweet and I really wanted to read it. Were being deprived of Frosty and I demand to have him brought back, immediately! Onto the next one!

I CAN TELL NOW, THIS BOOK IS NOT A NECESSARY READ TO UNDERSTAND THE NEXT ONE!!

This book was alright. Nothing special. Just the parents book. While it did give a little context for certain things in the previous books, it still just tagged on more questions.

Ready to read the next!

Cue Prequel Novella

This is a short story about Adelaide Hawthorne and her men, call me old fashioned if you want but I really do prefer my fiction to be written chronologically.

The ending wasn’t a huge surprise there have been enough hints. Now back to the main story!

Good Read

I loved seeing how Reveries’ parents came together and it also gave some context to the past and some of the things from the previous book. I would recommend giving it a read.

Well this was short, sweet and to the point. This gives us a lot of insight into Adelaide’s faction and some of the secrets they’ve been keeping about reverie.

It was neat to get more background on them and their limited interactions with Selene that were shown. Very eye opening.

I didn't see the need for this book. It could have been at the end of the series if people really wanted to read it. I was fine with like the epilogue but the rest, I didn't need to know part of the parent's time at the school.
