Naomi Carter thought her biggest life-and-death battles were dealing with terrible managers, inconsistent men, and praying her grits didn’t scorch. Then she went and accidentally tethered her soul to Azarel — the exiled God of Infinity whose shadow-wrapped body, razor-sharp dominance, and “I do not play with mortals” energy should’ve sent her running.
Except Naomi’s mouth moves quicker than her survival instincts, and apparently aggravating an eternal god is her newest personality trait.
Their bond is forbidden, volatile, and hotter than a busted radiator in an August heatwave. Azarel demands surrender, Naomi answers with sarcasm, and somehow that tension keeps breaking beds, bending rules, and setting the laws of reality on fire.
Meanwhile, the Twelve — ancient gods of law, wrath, and divine consequences — are stirring. Dragons counting debts in blood. Sirens collapsing empires with a single note. Witches carving vows straight into bone. And just when Naomi thinks her chaos quota has been met, the Whisper — a faceless god older than fear itself — starts hunting her, hungry for every buried wound she never dealt with.
Betrayal slicks itself in truth. The past refuses to stay dead. And Naomi must embrace her own rising power while navigating a god who doesn’t bend, doesn’t beg, and damn sure doesn’t do “chill.”
This is paranormal fantasy erotica with bite — forbidden love, divine dominance, cosmic tension, and a mortal woman who learns the funniest way to survive the apocalypse is to sass the god who might actually own her soul.

Incredible and fantastic story.. Please take your time with this work of art it’s truly art.. Take your time to understand it’s such a deep book and story.. The message in the book is hidden and taking your time is total worth it once to get to the end..
Author Storm painstakingly built this world between the gods and mortals. Azarel, "a god born of shadow and starlight," was introduced to us, and we could immediately feel his hunger and his obsession. Presiding over us at 6'7, with golden eyes and skin shimmering like midnight🥵, Storm had our bodies betraying us out here. "He felt her heart before she saw his face." Author Storm was in her bag. This story is poetry come to life.
The creativity of the Council of the Twelve... we were able to explore so many ethereal creatures: a manticore, phoenix, siren, dragon, and so many more to quench all your beastly cravings. Each of the Twelve sat upon their throne. They moved succinctly, and their powers uncoiled as one; they struck together.
"Two threads braided over infinity until they are only one." Our FMC Naomi tried to fight the gravitation and all of the hunger she felt within. The longing... the yearning... Author Storm was able to exemplify this. It was cinematic. Naomi had lived life utterly unfulfilled, and we can all appreciate the realness in her thirst for more. The Between tested Naomi. She had to go before the Twelve, and when the chamber shook, and there were outbursts among the Council, we could feel it. This is where Author Storm excelled, the titillating imagery, the vivid scenes that could be felt through the pages. This is her niche.
We are later introduced to The Whisperer. Naomi was pushed and pulled to what felt like a breaking point. Her body betrayed her. Her thighs clenched, her skin heated, all the things you tell yourself that you won't do. The chemistry between Azarel and Naomi was palpable. Author Storm was tryna get us sticky over here, do you hear me👌🏾!
Kemala, our sneaky dragon... you ever noticed how family can be your biggest opp sometimes, that's her, Azarel's biggest hater. Although she was a hot mess, in the end, she represented both betrayal and love. Author Storm transported us into this magical world of shadows. I enjoyed exploring Avalon's realm, where Azarel and Naomi were able to catch a momentary reprieve before they were once again thrust into chaos. We got to know Asmodeus's freaky a$$. This incubus was the epitome of his demonic nature... queue's the song, Sex is on my Mind lol.
Author Storm did an excellent job, carving out each character's unique personality and attributes within the story, not an easy feat, with so many enchanting beings. Naomi, although seemingly timid, upon first meeting, found her purpose and "rose into the storm." Contributing to the richness of this story, we were able to get a POV from Mekhi, our sphinx. Intrigued by his many riddles, he was able to offer the reader further insight into Naomi, "her power ignited."
Author Storm, thank you for letting me explore your world and dive into these delicious characters via ARC. Semper Fidelis Sis and Congratulations on this phenomenal debut. It's only up from here!!!
This debut novel has a poetic quality and characters that draw you in! Author Storm creates a world that is both fascinating and gripping as readers explore this fantasy novel.
Favorite line: “I didn’t break your leash,” I whispered, steady despite the quake in my chest. “I refused to wear one.”
Favorite character: Azarel. If standing on business was a person (or god in this case) it would be him. He does not play when it comes to what is his and we just love him for it.
Thank you for allowing me to read an advance reader copy.
The descriptions. The dialogue. The passion. Azriel was everything dark, magical, and seductive. Naomi was strength, courage, and his weakness. Their love story was written before the stars were even created. FIVE STARS must read.
For her debut novel, Storm brings everything her name stands for. Not just her commitment to detail and world building is immersive. Knowing that her characters were created from her own love dynamic makes this even more personal.
I’m extremely proud to have had an opportunity to enjoy an early release and I’m even more grateful to have read a story from the mind of the person that usually picks them.
My favorite aspect of this novel was the world building. Creating a world where fantasy and kink meet an enriched mythology. Also the two forces of Azarel the god and Naomi the mortal creates the classic love story of a man no matter how power willing to battle for the woman he loves. The Trojan War, a backyard brawl over the aura drenched Naomi. Azarel has found his Helen. I don’t want to spoil this for anyone. But the imagery is beautiful.
Shadows of Forever 5 Stars!!!! ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ It was a great privilege to be able to read this book it was amazing , with a great storyline with characters Azarel and Naomi this was a fantasy story of Love and World building that takes you on a journey you will not forget, you feel like your are there, it immediately draws you in. Azarel was a MMC who had a deep connection with Naomi the FMC that was immediate…. The draw the passion “Hello my Forever…” was the line for me, that’s how quick I was hooked ! Such a great Read!!
Shadows of Forever: Dominance & Surrender is a wildly addictive blend of dark fantasy, divine danger, and scorching chemistry. Naomi’s sharp wit colliding with Azarel’s god-level intensity makes every page crackle, while the world of ancient gods, dragons, sirens, and shadow magic is as captivating as it is chaotic. author storm delivers a bold, thrilling, and sinfully satisfying paranormal romance that’s impossible to put down. Perfect for readers who love powerful heroines, forbidden bonds, and fantasy that bites back.
This book is so poetic in tone & in verse. I highlighted a few of the lines that I thought were just so spot on or just geniously laid out the page. For her first published book, this was magically written so well. I just found myself rereading some lines because they were so good, ya know I had 2 run them back a few times. If you are looking for a fantasy world that is still developing to you as a reader that is both sexy & dark then grab this book. Now it's time to buy both the hardcover & paperback so that I can annotate them.
Shadows of Forever is dark, passionate, and unforgettable. Naomi and Azarel’s story is both haunting and addictive, perfect for fans of godly obsession, betrayal, and forbidden love.
Author Storm gives you a villain you can love to hate and a hero that's impossible not to fall for. I adore this author's pen. The way this story is told with beautiful rhythm is truly unique. This is a world in Romantacy unlike any other I have read. The number and variety of mythical gods/creatures/monsters is a lesson all on it's own. Some were definitely new to me. I enjoyed how Naomi has to own and acknowledge all the pieces of herself throughout the story. There is just enough humor to add depth and personality without distracting from the main story as well. Azarel's patience is a practice in devotion that was worthy of reciprocation, that and the way he wears those joggers. I'm looking forward to the next monster and tether's story.
