3 years after it's release, the rules of the game still hasn't changed -- Growing a company from ground zero is nearly impossible. In his debut book, " How to Grow Any Startup Without a Plan or a Clue", Anthony W. Richardson turns the startup growth process into a scientific theory by outlining the exact methodology that he has built out working shoulder-to-shoulder with startups around the globe over the past 13 years.
Many experts agree that the majority of startups fail because they run out of either time or money, but isn't that a symptom of how resources are managed? In the book, Richardson lays out his formulaic equation on how to know exactly what you should do next and compares it against the most valuable pieces of a Time, Money, Growth and Data to create a data-driven framework for evaluating, testing and executing marketing concepts. It is said as many as 95% of startups fail and yet 83% of Anthony's total clients are either still in business or have already been acquired. The same framework that helped hundreds of startups grow is found within the pages of this book.
"Full-Scale" is a book that you can read straight through or use as a step-by-step guide for your startup's growth. Inside you will learn not only how to grow your startup better, but also how to validate everything you're doing -- including the choices that you've made with a numerical and data-backed foundation. Through failures, hard work and refinement, the heavy lifting has already been done for you.
After reading this book you will learn why... - "Data Levels All Arguments" - the word "IF" is a death sentence to startups - you should always "Kill Failures and Scale Successes" - spending money on a ping-pong table is a great indicator of failure - how the startup marketing process is not unlike the film "Groundhog Day" - marketing should provoke change in all areas of the startup process as a whole.
From key hires to company culture and even how to make your investors come find you -- this book has it all covered.
Unlike other books in the space, you won't find current strategies or case studies, but a new, timeless, fundamental understanding that applies to your exact situation. If you've read the other books and didn't find yourself any more ready to make the next move and scale your startup -- this is the book for you. From mobile applications to SaaS, B2B or B2C and anything in between; the Full-Scale framework goes to work on Day 1. Richardson's scientific methodology and "beginners are welcome" writing style should prove to be a treasured addition to both the new and seasoned members of the startup marketing community.
Full Scale is a must read book if you want t understand the principles behind Growth Hacking, Startup Marketing and how it's different from traditional marketing we are used to.
The book uses the scientific method (also based on Lean Startup paradigm) applied to Traction and growth. The four principles are: - Only in testing will I know if something is going to be successful. - Only data and results will show me the best way to market my startup. - I will only scale successes and kill failures. There is no gray area. - Data levels all arguments.
Overall, strongly recommended to learn the new ways and paradigms startups are using to scale exponentially. I also recommend the book "Traction: A Startup Guide to getting customers" for details on many different growth tactics you can use.
I thought about doing direct sales of my books, so this book might be useful later. It goes into all the various marketing and how to make your venture profitable and intelligently allocate your limited capital. The book does a good job of specifics on these critical components.
