Matt thinks that his life is perfect: he has got the job he loves and the woman he’s been pining after since he was a kid. There's no reason for his luck to change. Moreso, the event today was a good deed. The sort that attracts the right kind of karma. A charity dinner and an auction to help repair roofs and buy new heaters for the homeless shelter. Nothing bad can come of something like that, right?
However, you never know what oddities an old man can keep in his remote cottage or what's lurking among those weird items in auctions. In Matt’s opinion, some things should stay lost in a warehouse forever. Where they can do no harm. But maybe he’s overreacting. Truth to be told, it has been a busy year for Matt, with a lot of stress, so excuse him if Matt is a little bit edgy. Maybe his nightmares are just a trick of his hyperactive mind. After all, he’s a writer, and we know how writers are.
Or, everything should be right in Matt’s world… until it isn’t.
One weekend is all it takes to reduce his world to ashes.
This short story is sure to make readers uneasy with a creepy porcelain doll written across its pages.😨 Does she move? Can her dead blue eyes see in the dark? Is that her giggling and singing in the other room?🎶😳🎶
That's what Matt begins to wonder when he opened up that unmarked box in the home that he bought with his fiancée, Ava. He's just imagining things, right? The story made me want to know more, the why, that unsettlingly ending. I have questions!!!😫 No spoilers. Careful if you ever find yourself face to face with a strange doll. You never know if you're being watched.👀🪆☠️ The story is written well and it's oh so eerie! Look at the book cover!😬 Shout out to brave Buddy🐕. Happy reading.*•>§<•*🙊🥀🥀🪦🥀🥀
Creepily excellent. This is great for building nail-biting anxiety and the gradual, growing dread is what I liked about this story. You just know that the "fearsome thing doth close behind you tread." You just don't know when!
