Siddanth Nurugu is an aspiring entrepreneur from a wealthy family who meets a young doctor from Kerala named Priya under his mother's persuasion. Hating the whole setup, Siddanth opens the door, then to events that push them to meet each other time after time - bickering and fighting. Broken by love. Broken by dreams. Young adults strive hard to find the meaning of love, life, and career. Priya's witty banter and enduring personality charms Siddanth, while Siddanth calling Priya 'Chingu' annoys her to the core. How do these two different personalities find friendship in animosity, while soulmates in the end is a journey of an emotional and hilarious journey.
I just finished this one and oh wow, it’s exactly the kind of chaotic, heartwarming romance that keeps you hooked. The story begins with a blind date set up for Siddanth, but instead of meeting his match, he ends up spending the evening with a drunk stranger—Dr. Priya Chandran. What follows is a mix of drama, banter, and the kind of tension that only grows when two people keep running into each other no matter how hard they try to avoid it.
Priya is messy, heartbroken, and hilariously unfiltered—her drunk conversations had me laughing out loud. Siddanth on the other hand is grumpy, composed, and the perfect opposite to her chaos. Their constant clashes and unexpected encounters give this story its spark, while slowly revealing their softer, vulnerable sides.
What I really liked is that beneath all the humor and drama, there’s also grief, healing, and the awkwardness of moving on after heartbreak. It makes the story more than just rom-com fluff—it feels layered.
If you love banter-filled romance, dramatic twists, and characters who collide like fate refuses to let them go, this one should be on your list. 💕
A swoony, desi romance with the perfect North-South chemistry — that’s exactly what Match Made in Corridor is!
First of all, the characters… not just the main ones, but every single person in this story had amazing chemistry and brought in the right energy, just like in those iconic friendship movies. It actually reminded me of Minnaminnikkoottam (2008 Malayalam movie), which I adored as a kid for its beautiful portrayal of friendship. This book gave me that same warmth. The relationships felt real, grounded, and full of heart.
Coming to the main characters, they weren’t perfect, and that’s what made them so relatable. Both were battling their own demons, and the way their character arcs were written was just incredible. I’ll admit, I was a little mad at Priya for her final move (exactly how I felt about Charu in the movie too). But as they say, all is well that ends well!
And then there’s Siddhant… oh, the man he is! He’s another swoony, dreamy fictional guy who’s definitely joining my list of favorites.
If you love stories with strong friendship dynamics and slow-burn, subtle romance, Match Made in Corridor is the perfect pick for you!
A Match Made in the Corridor is a light, refreshing read! The book takes those little beautiful moments - the ones we often forget in our everyday lives - and transforms them into something magical. The corridor atmosphere adds a special flair to each interaction between the characters - they feel genuine, spontaneous, and a whole lot of fun.
The story gently rolls along with humor, warmth, and feeling. The characters are relatable - you will find yourself rooting for them, laughing with them, and possibly blushing with them! I found the most poignant moments to be those in which the smallest things were wrought with significance.
This is the kind of romance you turn to when you want something that brings comfort, joy, and a gentle reminder that love doesn't always have to loud - sometimes it grows in the stillness behind closed doors. Enjoyable - I was left grinning even after closing the book!
Although I have been reading, Match Made in Corridor " for a few weeks I got to finish it lately and now I’m like, “God! Why did I delay reading this cute love story?” It is nothing short of a kdrama, and I found myself in stitches over the comedy and melting over the love showered by the lead characters on each other.
Siddhant Nurugu, is a handsome, thriving and gem of a person. He, the son of an acclaimed singer is a pro swimmer, and an entrepreneur. Despite putting all his efforts into his career, he faces mockery as the privileged son. His mother, a famous doctor always supports him as his cheerleader although his father is never quite satisfied with his performances.
Dr Priya, a pretty, kind and witty woman from Kerala, works in a hospital that was run by his mother in Mumbai. Kavya, her close friend since seventh grade never once leaves her side and cares for her. They live together in the same flat and work in the same hospital.
Having her fair share of adversities because of her mother and a breakup, she meets Siddhant most unexpectedly. In a state of inebriation. He mistakes her for another doctor whom his mother coaxed him to have a date with. Being the gentleman he is, he listens to all her rants and heartaches until her friends take her safely. Siddhant chuckles at her innocence but never once could he take her out of his mind. Their relationship progresses due to mutual friends and so does their mischief. Navigating all the ups and downs in each other’s lives and being there for each other, how will they fall in love?
Reading this felt so exhilarating and immersive that I didn’t care about the world around me. My whole day was spent with Priya and Siddhant. The sweet gestures, concerns over the well-being, and the author’s compelling narration with minute emotions that are well presented through the characters, glued me till I saw a happy ending for Priya and Siddhant. “Your life might be a pandemonium but you deserve love more than a hundred per cent” - is what I deciphered from this story.
I really commend the author for penning this story with such fervour that I fell in love with the characters and longed for love like theirs. She also included a very tiny part of my favourite K-drama in this. Her passion is quite evident too. If you love romcoms and go gaga over kdrama then you shouldn’t miss this! Very much recommended!
review - This book reminded me of so many Tamil and malayalam movies I watched growing up, though I couldn’t always place exactly which ones. The medical camp portion especially gave me serious Alaipaayudhey vibes — it instantly reminded me of Shalini and Madhavan.
The story follows Priya, a doctor, and Siddanth, who runs a VFX company and also happens to be the son of a very famous singer. For most of his life, Siddanth has lived under the shadow of his father’s success, constantly feeling like he hasn’t lived up to that legacy. Priya, on the other hand, carries a lot of emotional baggage of her own — losing her father at a young age, being stuck in a relationship with a man who tried to control every aspect of her life, and growing up with a mother who couldn’t give her the love she desperately needed after her father’s death.
Both the main characters come with their own set of past traumas. Siddanth does have one involving his grandparents drowning, but it feels like he has mostly processed that. His bigger struggle is the pressure of living up to his father’s name and not feeling like a failure. Priya’s trauma, however, feels heavier because she hasn’t really confronted any of it until almost 70% into the book, when she finally faces her mother.
The book is packed with heavy emotions, but one thing I really enjoyed was the use of colloquial language, Malayalam. So many of the phrases and expressions felt familiar and relatable. At times it honestly felt less like reading a book and more like watching a movie play out in my head.
That said, there were moments where the narrative or dialogue felt a little too informal for a novel, which took me out of the reading experience slightly. I also felt the pacing dragged in certain parts — a few scenes and internal monologues could probably have been shorter. And there were definitely moments where Priya’s behaviour frustrated me so much that I just wanted to yell at her through the pages and say, “Please see the good in the people who actually care about you.”
But despite these things, I really liked the core of the story. The way love slowly grows out of friendship was beautiful to watch, and I always enjoy an opposites-attract dynamic when it’s done well. By the end, the emotional journey of both characters made the story worth it.

This book honestly gave me everything I look for in a romance... banter, heartbreak, healing & the greenest flag MMC ever written!
We meet Siddhanth Nurugu, a North Indian guy running an ad agency. From outside it looks like his life should be easy, after all he is the son of the legendary singer. Everyone assumes success comes easily to him... but the truth? His career is riddled with failures, his dreams of swimming crushed & one night, his pain nearly drowns him… literally
And then there’s Dr. Priya, a Malayali girl working in Mumbai, carrying her own scars. Having a mother who never accepted her, an abusive ex and a loneliness so heavy it nearly consumes her. Her strength lies in her chosen family❤️ her best friend Kavya and Kavya’s wonderful mom, who becomes more of a mother than her own.
Their story begins with an arranged date mixup...Siddhanth was supposed to meet one Dr.Priya, but ended up meeting another Dr. Priya. From then on, fate keeps throwing them together, in hospital corridors, playful bickering and silly fights
✨ What I loved most: ✔️ Siddhanth: the definition of a green flag. Sweet, funny, genuine and the kind of man you root for ✔️ Priya: flawed, strong and relatable. Her journey of learning to accept love is beautifully written ✔️ Social awareness: the book shines light on tough topics like SA, suicide and the silent battles of mental health ✔️ Found family: Priya & Kavya’s bond, plus Kavya’s mother’s unconditional love, made my heart full🥹
The slow burn in this book is like a Kdrama, giving all the right feels 💗
Overall a feel good, emotional, heartwarming romance that leaves you smiling and teary-eyed at once. The author has crafted characters so real, they'll stay with you for long.
📌 If you love banter, found family done right, soft but strong FMC and MMC who redefine “green flag” add this to your TBR immediately. Also, a huge shoutout to this adorable cover 😍😍
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 A book that felt like home warm, funny, and heartbreakingly real.
The cover enticed me, the blurb captivated me and the North-South dynamic? Pure love. I delayed reading it for fifteen days (don’t ask why), but when I finally did… oh my God, it was so worth it.
Priya and Sidhhant two broken souls fighting their own battles yet finding love, light, and laughter together. Their chemistry, their strength, their little moments everything was perfect.
And those “side characters”? Nope. They were the heart of the story. Kavya, Shefali, and the rest their banter, their chaos, their love gave the book that warm, found-family feel I adore.
What blew me away was how the author tackled real societal issues within such a cozy, feel-good romance. It’s rare to find a book that makes you giggle one second and tear up the next but this did exactly that.
Haritha Shivakumar, you’ve got a forever reader in me. 💖
sometimes love finds you in the most unexpected places. And Match me in a corridor captures that magic perfectly. The story starts with Siddhanth, who is all set for the blind date with Dr Priya, only to meet a completely different Priya instead. she is a little drunk, heart break spelling out of her, and blurts the funniest nickname ever- Chingu. that single meeting changes everything for Siddhanth and even when he later meets the real Priya, his heart keep going back to the first one.
The book is full of fun roasting sessions, witty banter, heartwarming friendships, and family ties that add depth to the romance. Priya, the Malayali doctor, and Siddhant, the ambitious North Indian businessman, bring in a lively cultural mix that feels real and relatable. I especially enjoyed the K-drama and Bollywood references- they added so much charm!
From the genuine friendship between Priya and her flatmates, Kavya and Shefali; to the family dramas, which concern careers, relationships and marriage.. this book is truly filled with emotions. I loved the way the author delves deeper into bonding between humans with each chapter. I literally had to pause, digest, and move on with each and every hurdle the couple encounters throughout. I personally found Priya Chandra’s character closely associated with me, as she weaves the threads of fate with each decision she takes. Priya's determination, strong character and unwavering mentality is one of the things I loved the most in the book. Siddharth, on the other hand is a character I categorise as ‘sunshine’. Albeit being shadowed all his life due to his father's over- achievements, he never gave up. I also loved the way the author details Nurugu’s deep thoughts.
