When opening this book, you are greeted with pictures of Japanese food and restaurants, which makes you want to turn the pages to see the recipes. Ono has included a table of contents that includes such topics a Rice, Noodles, Vegetables, fish and much more. Throughout the entire book, you have colorful and cultural photographs which give life to this cookbook. Ono also explains that this book is comprised of Japanese recipes that are raku-raku (easy peasy) and I would agree with that. Also, included in this book is a section on how to eat and cook Japanese food plus explanation on ingredients that are used in the Japanese culture. Each chapter has an introduction about the main ingredient of that section (ex. Rice, noodles, fish etc.). I made the following dishes to see how easy the recipes were to follow:
Tamago Yaki Meshi (Egg Fried Rice)
Spanish Ohitashi
Yasai Itame (stir fried vegetables)
Cod Karage – (Fried cod)
Soy Sauce Roast Whole Chicken

All these recipes were easy peasy to make and they were delicious. I did have to go and pick up some of the ingredients from a specialty store but for the most part you could find what you need at your local grocery store. A worthwhile addition to your cookbook shelf. Thank you to Clarkson Potter for a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
