I wasn't looking for him. I definitely wasn't trying to text him. But apparently the universe decided I needed a reminder that Alejandro--the boy my father hated, the boy I loved too much--still has the power to ruin me.
He left me once and I swore I would never give him the chance to hurt me again.
But here he is, charming as ever, saying all the things I used to dream about hearing.
And here I am, answering back, because apparently I've learned absolutely nothing.
Now I'm caught between my family and the only man I've ever truly loved. Between the girl I used to be and the woman who can't seem to resist him. This was supposed to be over. But some mistakes feel too good to stop making... once more, con emoción.

Growing up as a young child Rae Knight used to hate reading, but as she grew into her adolescent years it all chnaged. It was this love of reading, mixed with her vivid imagination, that had her begin her writing career. The first books she ever wrote were at the age of fifteen scribble in the pages of a spiral notebook. Now a days, you can find her trying hard to write these bios in third person, which she doesn't even do in her books. When she's not teaching, she's mothering three small children. Her writing is mainly done once her littles have fallen asleep for the night.

Rae loves to interact with her readers the most, messaging back any who are willing to speak with her. So, be sure to follow her social media pages and reach out to her. The characters of her books are constantly living in her mind, missing them like dear friends when their stories end.

What a great book about second chances with the one who is destined to be your life partner. Alejandro and Beatriz had known each other since they were kids and started dating at 16 years old before abruptly ending at 18. They had reunited by chance from Beatriz accidentally texting Alejandro instead of her sister and it was clear that they still loved each other and the chemistry was there.

There is so much tension and yearning between the two😩😭 so many emotions felt while reading, from reading their backstory and then what led to their breakup. Seeing them reunite and making it work brought so much joy and happy tears 🥹

I loved Alejandro and Beatriz so much! Beatriz went through a lot of trust issues from the breakup with Ale and the relationships after where she ended up being hurt. Ale continued to show up for her and prove to her that this time he isn’t going to lose her and was going to fight for her and their love. They’re so perfect for each other 😭🥹😍

I loveee the friends that were made here. The soccer team and Camila were so wholesome and incredibly supportive of Ale and Bee. The scenes with Bee’s sister Andrea and dad were good too. I couldn’t help but feel frustrated for Bee and Ale because her father was so frustrating in his stubbornness, even if it was out of version of love for his family and protecting them. Seeing their family dynamic improve was so worth it 😭

I absolutely this book and highly recommend it. There is tension, yearning, laughter, spice, and everything in between. Thank you Rae Knight for the opportunity to read an ARC of this amazing book ❤️❤️

ARC REVIEW
RELEASES OCTOBER 1, 2025

Okay i’ve been an ARC reader for Rae for over a year now and every time she releases a book it never fails to make me feel all my feelings(usually within moments of each other) Her writing style is so unique and i love it. this book was no different. The way Bee and Alejandro love each other is so beautiful. if there’s one thing I loved about this book the most was the representation for the hispanic community( the fmc is Cuban and mmc is Mexican) The way Rae made their culture fit into this book was glorious and i loved every second of it. and Alejandro definitely made it to my book boyfriend list🫡(i mean how could he not)

Okay, but what am I supposed to read now?!

I love Rae Knight’s characters and stories. They’re always the best blend of fierce and sweet while being so easy to love. I wanted Beatriz and Alejandro together and several moments had me screaming internally at tropes I usually don’t love working so well throughout this book!

First, a second chance romance is absolutely perfect for this storyline and gives us exactly what we want from both leads. We get the best relationship between main characters, but we also are given fun development and depth between the leads and side characters. At this point, it’s something to pretty much expect (and adore) about Knight and her books. I need the friends to be people, too, and she does it so well!

The love they have for each other, too?! So good! Did it get a little cheesy? Yes, but this is a romance and that’s exactly what readers want; all the delicious understanding of a man willing to give the love of his life space when she needs it and being absolutely mad for her.

Ugh, and the secrets in this one just add the right justification and intrigue without feeling like they’re there just to cause drama. The reasoning and reactions through every event felt warranted and I basically live for this.

So, ultimately, this is a must read if you like sports, men who are simps, and soccer or sports romance!

Beatriz and Alejandro's story was an emotional journey that took us through many ups and downs. Meeting as kids, his dad was their family gardener, Bee and Ale grew up as best friends that turned into first loves. At eighteen, they were ready to run off and start a life together, unfortunately, Alejandro left with just a note to say goodbye.
Eight long years pass and both have never forgotten their true feelings. When Beatriz accidentally messages Alejandro after discovering her ex cheating on her, he knows this was meant to be. They spend more time together, learning their chemistry is still just as strong. Beatriz has trust issues, can Alejandro prove things are different now?

✨ ARC Review ✨
Once More Con Emoción by Rae Knight

“I wasn’t looking for him. I definitely wasn’t trying to text him…” 👀

From the very first page, Rae Knight pulls you into Beatriz & Alejandro’s fiery second-chance romance. He’s the boy her father hated, the one she swore she’d never let back in—and yet here he is, charming as ever. And here she is, answering back… because some mistakes feel too good to stop making. 💔🔥

This book has it all: raw emotion, undeniable chemistry, and all the spice your heart could desire 🌶️✨. With present-day tension, glimpses of the past, and that Miami heat radiating through every page, it’s a romance that’s passionate, messy, and impossible to put down.

If you’re looking for a second-chance love story that sizzles—this is it. 📚🌹

📝 REVIEW & THOUGHTS:

“Don’t push away happiness when it stands in front of you. You hear me?”

Loved how the Spanish words/sentences can be understood even if one doesn’t speak one word of it, thanks to the characters responses or internal thoughts. Very pleasant to read this way, without needing to look things up.

This is a beautiful love story, with a very sweet man who is absolutely freaking in love with his amor. I also liked Bee, the FMC, and she is also very sweet and kind. Great match I’d say :)

Characters are well developed and feel real, there is not much plot outside of the romance, the romance and emotional connection is most definitely the focus of this book.

It got a bit cheesy and very romantic and sweet towards the end, a little too much for my personal taste, as I feel it got a little repetitive. But what I appreciated was that the two main characters had great chemistry and were truly emotionally connected.

Also, why why do I basically have no triggers, and then I suddenly have wet eyes when the father who loves his daughter FUCKING HUGS HER. I guess at almost 31 yo I find that I do have a trigger, and that is apparently a loving father who accepts, loves and hugs his daughter. Oh well, call me surprised, I guess 😅

🏷️ TROPES & TAGS (possible spoilers):

Genre/subgenre: contemporary romance
Pairing: MF
POV: 1st person, dual
Angst: medium
Burn: fast
Vibe/mood: sweet, emotional
Pet names: killer Bee, hermosa, amor, cariño, mi reina
HEA: yes

Second chance
Yearning
Friends to lovers
Hispanic MCs (Cuban and Mexican)
Set in Miami
Strong emotional connection

🌶️ SPICE & K!NKS (possible spoilers):

Heat: 7 scenes, low to medium heat (a few scenes are more about the emotion side of things, not really dirty)
Some dirty talk
Praise
Bareback

⚠️ CONTENT WARNINGS (possible spoilers):

Dubcon: no
Noncon: no
OM/OW: no, but there are two instances when Bee lets her insecurities win, and thinks Ale cheated on her (he didn’t)
3rd act breakup: no, but they do have a couple of days of “space”, but none wanted to break up, it was just to reflect
Alcohol consumption
Cheating (not between or by MCs, but it’s a sore topic for the FMC as she’s been cheated on by her ex boyfriends)
References to dead parents (FMC’s mom and MMC’s dad and mom)
Strict father
Fear and pressure of disappointing your parent

😤 LITTLE RANT (possible spoilers):

I don’t understand the father. Like how was he soooo sure that Alejandro had cheated on Beatriz when they were 16, manipulating and threatening him to make him leave her. And then he doesn’t believe that Martin cheated on her at the beginning of the book and tries to gaslight her? How do these two things make sense? They don’t in my mind, maybe I missed something, I dunno 🤷‍♀️

💬 QUOTES (possible spoilers):

“Don’t push away happiness when it stands in front of you. You hear me?”

“I am telling you to be honest with yourself. You are allowed to love a boy who brings you flowers from the ditch and makes you laugh.”

* Fyi about 🌶️ levels: I rate spice on a combination of quantity, quality, length, intensity and explicitness of the scenes. K!nks are listed separately and generally do not directly affect the steam level to keep it fair for non k!nky books.

a story that makes you happy while reading it!

This book is my new favorite! You know it's a great book when you are smiling while you read. And the tears at the end- happy tears, but I was balling!! The dual POV and flashbacks works really well at giving you contents of the characters' motivations. It also allows you to really understand the main characters and their relationship. You don't have to wait long to get the juiciness of the story- so that was a plus. I was about to flip between a few books like I usually do and by the first chapter I was all in- no questions! And it just kept keeping you in the story waiting to find out what was coming next.

The story is consistent the whole time- yes there is some drama and emotional baggage, but it is so realistic and true. Honestly, that is what I loved about this book - it really read was relatable - not some far reaching story line. You also don't suffer through long miscommunications (I hate those). I love how we get a villain, or do we... its a nice plot twist, but adds to the idea of well fought battles.

I love Alejandro's character- He is just wonderful! Like from the start - he is all in for her! Like literally pulls up no questions asked. The best part- he keeps showing up- he is consistent but also accountable. It is refreshing - and Beatriz is great too, you don't ever feel like he is too good for her, which happens a lot when you have such a great MMC.

One of my favorite parts is that I knew all the songs referenced. The author does a great job of translating the Spanish without making it sounds like translation. It was great having a Cuban FMC and MMC and I loved all the cultural references- they just made the story that much more relatable for me and it was something I didn't know I needed. Everyone in the story makes it better - and I love how his teammates are part of the story- and I honestly would love more of Gael and Camila's story and even Drea and Niko.

Great romance, great spice, and also great side characters. Can't wait to read more by Rae Knight.

It’s me, hi! I’m the problem, it’s me.

I’m here to shoot another review and recommendation for my favorite Hispanic indie author. 🖤

Once More Con Emoción by Rae Knight
This is not only my favorite book from her to date but also top 5 of my favorite of all time.

We get the following:
❤️‍🩹 Second Chance Romance
👫Friends to Lovers
🇨🇺🇲🇽Hispanic Representation Cuban and Mexican)
🌶️🌶️🌶️.5 spice (for me because some of my romance book choices are.. questionable 🤣🤣)
⚽️ Sports Romance
⏳Medium to Fast Pace
🫶 Both plot and character driven

This story is raw and has truly captured flawed characters, representation of a family that isn’t perfect but learns to be better rather than the perfect parents that a lot of books have these days, growth, introspective and just pulls you in and makes you connect with the characters and their world. The setting of Miami is amazing and vivid like you were there. If you love a groveling, swoon worthy MMC then Alejandro is at your service. Bee shows how pieces can be picked up and put back together through healing though the end result is different than what you started with. The sprinkles of Spanish were 🧑‍🍳💋 and able to understand if you’re a non-Spanish speaker.

True love was found between Beautize and Alejandro when they were younger but after her father intervenes it is years later when they find each other and misunderstandings are out in the open. This story has some steamy spicy intimacy moments, and some very emotional moments too. I enjoyed this book.

A text sent to the wrong person leads us on a story of family, love and making things right.

I loved the second chance romance of Beatriz and Alejandro, in a sports romance that is heavy on the romance and light on the sports.

Highly recommend!

Beatriz wasn't looking for him. And she definitely wasn't trying to text him. But, it seems the universe or fate or maybe both decided that she needed a reminder that Alejandro – the boy that her father hated, the boy she loved too much – still had the power to ruin me.

Alejandro had already left Beatriz once and she swore that she was never going to give him the chance to hurt her like that ever again.

The problem is that Alejandro is just as charming as he ever was, says all the things that Beatriz used to dream he'd say to her.

And now here she is, answering him back. Why? Because apparently, she hasn't learned anything from her past.

Now Beatriz finds that she is stuck between her family and the only man she has ever truly loved. Between that young girl she once was and the woman who just can't seem to resist him no matter what.

Beatriz knows that things between her and Alejandro were supposed to be over once and for all. But, she also knows that some mistakes feel far to good to stop making...once more, con emoción.

Tropes: Second Chance Romance, Friends to Lovers, Hispanic Representation (Cuban and Mexican), Sports Romance, and Medium to Fast Pace.

Once More, Con Emoción by Rae Knight. I love Rae Knight and her writing. Any time I am given the chance to read one of her books I grab it because I know it's going to be a fantastic read. I have several of her books on my trophy shelf and I have several more in my wish list and this is going to be another that is to be added to that list. I just loved this book.

One of the things that I love about all of Rae Knight's books and this one is no different is that they are all driven by both the characters and the plot. Both Beatriz and Alejandro feel raw, real, and unfiltered, and on top of that they are flawed, messy and you can just feel how full of longing they are. With Once More, Con Emocion, you are not just reading the book, you are feeling it, you are watching it unravel around you like a tapestry. It's emotional and it's authentic and this is something that you will find with any of Rae Knight's books.

For me, I loved that Rae let the chemistry between Beatriz and Alejandro shine. The push and pull between them, their dynamics, their vulnerabilities, and even their passion, all felt real, not something that had been manufactured for a book. And I loved that Rae didn't just write the romance for the sake of their attraction, she wrote it for the growth of both Beatriz and Alejandro, the mistakes that they had both made in the past that haunt them. There is such tenderness there that seems to sneak up on you and just linger there. It is truly something magnificent to behold.

What I truly loved about Beatriz and Alejandro’s story was that it was a story of redemption and second chances and realizing who is truly destined to be your partner life life. I loved that it was an accidental text from Beatriz who was in fact trying to text her sister not Alejandro that reunited the two, and in doing so brought them back together and made them realize that even though years had passed, they still loved each other and the chemistry they had once shared still remains.

Rae wrote in just the perfect amount of tension and yearning between Beatriz and Alejandro and yet you can still feel so many emotions from them while you read their back stories and why they ended up breaking up in the first place. When they reunited, they decided to stay together and make it work, which brought such joy to my heart and many happy tears to my eyes. (Something I was in great need of when I read this book I have to say.)

I fell in love with both these characters so much. I felt for Beatriz and I can understand why she went through all the trust issues that she did after ending her relationship with Alejandro, she was so hurt at the time and she was petrified of being hurt again after all. But, Alejandro showed up over and over again for her, proving that this time he's not going anywhere and he's going to fight for their love and most of all he's going to fight for her. This to me just proved how perfect they are for each other.

And of course, we have the friends that were made. The soccer team and Camila, were just so supportive and caring of Alejandro and Beatriz. I will admit that Beatriz made me soo mad at times with his being so set in his ways and how protective he was of his family. But, when eventually that improved, I have to say that it was all worth it in the end.

This book, just like any other Rae Knight book will be a high recommendation from me. With all the tension, yearning, laughter, spice/heat, and everything else that's in between, you'll enjoy this book just as much as I did and you'll not regret picking up this book for one single second.

This was my first book by Rae Knight and I knew a little about the book before I started - second chance romance isnt something I’ve read a great deal of but I was willing to give it a go.

First up, it's an easy, quick read. The main characters speak Spanish (and its used frequently) but any in the story is either nicely translated or you can pick it up in the rest of the conversation so don’t let that scare you from reading it. The pacing of the story is well done and pretty straight forward. No surprises on that front.

There is a healthy dose of spice here. It's mostly fitting where it falls in the story.

I'd call it somewhat of a fluffy romance - not a bad thing. It's a book I'm certain many others will enjoy (as evidenced by great reviews), however, but I’m afraid I'm just not the target audience for this one.

I found it terribly predictable; you can feel the happily ever after brewing from the start (which is fine if that'swhat you’re looking for). Beatriz and Alejandro fall back into a relationship after she has discovered her fiancée has been cheating on her, without taking a moment to reflect on what she's been through. Plus this is the man who crushed her heart as a teenager - she lets him back in easily without bothering to find out why..

Beatriz's father pulling the "your father has a good life, I'd hate to see anything bad happen to it" to Alejandro was over the top as well as his lack of faith/trust in his daughters to be a sticking point. Does he come around? Of course he does; can't have a happy ending without it.

The miscommunication trope is heavily featured which is something that I struggle with. Another thing I struggle with is sex where one is person is drunk (and that happens very early on in the book).

And while soccer is listed as a genre for the title, I think it's a stretch to call it a soccer book. This is a romance with a character who happens to play the sport.

If goodreads allowed for half stars I would give it a 2.5.

The emotions are incredibly high in this book! From the MCs to the side characters, be prepared to have your heart in pieces and strategically put back together.
Rae Knight’s Once More Con Emoción is a tender, heartfelt story of young love lost and found again, set against a backdrop of family loyalty, emotional manipulation, and the quiet strength it takes to choose your own path.

At its heart, this novel follows two teenagers—Beatriz and Alejandro—whose high school romance burned bright before being abruptly extinguished. Years later, fate throws them back into each other's lives after a drunken text meant for Bee's siter, and the spark is undeniable. But this isn't just a story of rekindled love; it's also a story of control, trust, and the painful legacy of family interference.

Bee's father is the central force of tension in the narrative, a manipulative figure who played a significant role in their original breakup. Knight handles his influence with nuance, portraying not just the damage he causes but also how deeply it shapes Bee's view of herself, her choices, and her ability to trust again. Watching her confront the truth—and begin to untangle her identity from his expectations—is one of the most powerful arcs in the book.

What makes Once More Con Emoción shine is Rae Knight’s ability to capture the emotional turbulence of love rediscovered. Beatriz and Alejandro's chemistry is electric, yes, but it’s their shared history—the unspoken hurts, the misunderstandings, the things left unsaid—that gives the romance real depth. Their conversations feel raw and real, filled with tension, longing, and a slow but undeniable healing.

Knight’s writing is evocative and cinematic, weaving Spanish phrases and cultural elements throughout, grounding the story in a rich emotional and cultural landscape. The title itself, Once More Con Emoción, captures the essence of the story: love lived again, this time with more clarity, more courage, and more heart.

If you’re a fan of second-chance romance with emotional depth and characters who fight for themselves and each other, Once More Con Emoción will leave you breathless and hopeful. This isn’t just about falling back in love—it’s about reclaiming the right to love at all.

⭐️⭐️⭐️️⭐️/ ️🌶️🌶️🌶️

Every book that I read by Rae Knight, I am reminded of her amazing ability to put so much emotion on the pages of her books. Despite what the overall themes of the books are; dark, romantasy, contemporary, or why choose, the level of emotion that is in each book has my heart reeling. It is impossible to not feel what the characters are feeling, as Rae makes them so lifelike and easy to connect to. Once More Con Emocion delivers the same emotions that I have found in every book of hers.

Alejandro and Beatriz dated when they were 16, but their relationship ended abruptly when they were 18. There is some mystery around why, but Rae brings all things into the light throughout her book. When Beatriz accidentally texts Alejandro for a ride (she thought she was texting her sister), he shows up for her. This first encounter is still electric and easy for readers to see there are still deep rooted feelings between these two.

I adored these two and loved watching them get a second chance. There are slight Romeo and Julie vibes throughout the book, as Beatriz’s father does not approve of Alejandro, but our two MCs fight for the love they feel for each other. Alejandro is determined to win her back, realizing past mistakes, and he definitely made me swoon! I loved how Rae wrote this character and may be in my top 3 of her MMCs.

The amount of yearning, tension, and romance in this book makes it easy to read, as you have to find out what’s going to happen next. I loved seeing so much of Rae’s culture and heritage in this book too! She has been wanting to write a story that highlights more of her background and she has done an amazing job in this book! This book gives you everything you love in romance books and I will always recommend Rae Knight and her books!!!

As always, review any author notes before reading.

ARC Review

To be given the chance to read an ARC of Once More Con Emoción. There’s something so rewarding about diving into the work of an up-and-coming indie author, and Rae Knight proves exactly why readers like me are always on the lookout for new voices in romance.

From the very beginning, this story hooked me with its fresh energy and heartfelt emotion. Rae Knight writes with a rawness that feels unfiltered in the best way her characters breathe on the page, flawed and messy and full of longing. You don’t just read their story; you feel it unravel around you. The prose is emotional without being overly polished, which actually worked beautifully in giving the story an authentic, indie charm.

What stood out most to me was the chemistry between the leads. Their push-and-pull dynamic felt real, not manufactured, and I appreciated how Rae Knight leaned into vulnerability just as much as passion. The romance wasn’t just about attraction it was about timing, growth, and the mistakes that haunt us. It had the sort of tenderness that sneaks up on you and lingers.

As with many indie works, there are moments that could benefit from tighter pacing and sharper editing. A few sections ran long where the emotional impact would’ve landed harder with restraint. But honestly, that’s part of the beauty of following new authors you get to watch them grow from book to book, each release stronger than the last.

Overall, Once More Con Emoción is a beautiful debut that blends heartache, heat, and hope in a way that left me both satisfied and curious for what Rae Knight will bring us next. I’m grateful I had the chance to read it early and support an author who is clearly carving her own space.

This is a new to me author and I'm so grateful I got the chance to read this as an ARC. I loved this second chance story so much. Bee and Ale were childhood friends and dated as teenagers who reconnect 10 years later (ish I could be off here lol) when Bee accidently texts him for a ride home instead of her sister. In this story, we got both their current story and their past story. I normally am not a big fan of jumping back and forth in time - however this was so well done. I loved the contrast of their teenage selves with their current adult selves. To see their growth since and while they re connect was a major plus in the storyline. Bee's life has been controlled by her father - in more ways then she even knows. Both Bee and Ale's young lives were affected by death of parents. The author does an amazing job of really making us feel like we're right there in South FL with them - great descriptions of places - but not so overly done that it takes away from the truly raw and real feelings of our MC's. The past hurts, the sense of loss, their connection - both old and new. I truly appreciated the bits of the Cuban and Mexican culture - little pieces like Bee being in her "church dress" and Sunday dinner with her family after church, the food and other references were similar to stories Cuban friends have shared with me brought back some great memories of said friends. The secondary characters were well written - Bee's family, Ale's soccer teammates and their families had alot of depth that added so much to the overall story. Rea will def be a must read author for me in the future and I've already added her back catalogue to my TBR.

This book was so interesting to me because it felt like the ending was happening too early. We all know the format - couple gets together, everything's good and great... but there's still something hovering over the happy couple and you're on edge waiting for the other shoe to drop. Then there's a misunderstanding that takes you to the last 20 pages of the book. Finally the truth is revealed and everyone's happy again. Then the book ends.

With this book, it followed a similar format, but the big conversations that needed to happen, and the misunderstanding, happened in the middle. So you got that stuff over with, and then you still had so many pages where you can see the characters get their happy ending! Usually, the books end and there's 'this is what our future could look like,' but with this book, you get to see the future actually happen.

Don't get me wrong, that format I described up above is so frustrating! Because if one character would just take a breath and listen and understand that 'it's not what it looks like!' is actually the truth it would save so much time and headaches.

This book had a main character that actually listened! Kudos to this author. When they say, 'I know what I heard/saw, etc.' and I know as the reader that it's literally not what they think, it's so frustrating. And I get that it's what makes the story move forward, but sometimes I just want a happy fluffy story where characters' insecurities are acknowledged, and the other characters help them through it, and then they can move on.

I'm very happy I decided to read this story. Thank you so much for the arc! I need to read more from this author!

“Don’t push away happiness when it stands in front of you."

This book was all sweetness and love even with the mistakes from the past.

Imagine finding out your fiancee was cheating on you because you forgot your lunch. You walk away without confronting him knowing its for the best. Next you find yourself drunk and needing a ride home so you text your sister to come get you. Oh but your drunk brain actually texted the man that walked out on you many years ago but, he still came for you.

These two were inevitable and the years apart only allowed them to be ready when they came back into each others lives. He had his reasons and they were valid but the way he went about it was not good.

"There she is," he says, voice low. "There's my killer Bee."

I love the way Bee's Mom was still shown even though she had passed. All of the little ways she had planned for her girls not having her around was so beautiful.

This is a beautiful second chance romance. These two picked up where they left off even though there were several hiccups along the way.

Bee's dad made me angry several times throughout the story. I get he was trying to keep her safe but he never asked her what she wanted.

If you need an almost sickeningly sweet second chance romance that will manage to make you cry as well this is a perfect. These two have perfect chemistry. The grew up as friends and as they grew so did their relationship and now we get to see them find where they needed to land.

"I am telling you to be honest with yourself. You are allowed to love a boy who brings you flowers from the ditch and makes you laugh."

"Con emoción" really meant con emoción.
There were moments in this book that hit hard. Raw, honest, deeply emotional—I shed a few tears more than once.

It was heartbreaking to see Beatriz at the beginning: so broken, so insecure, carrying the weight of failed relationships as if they were her fault. The judgment she felt, the way she saw herself as small and unworthy—it was painful to witness. But watching her journey, especially when Alejandro reentered her life, was beautiful. She slowly began to lift her head higher, find her strength again, and reclaim her voice.

I absolutely loved the way Alejandro treated her—with space, with tenderness, with so much love. He didn’t try to change her or make her smaller. He held space for her to be, and in doing so, helped her grow stronger. That kind of love? It's rare.

God, I loved Alejandro. His love for Beatriz was unwavering. Even when he was forced to make a heartbreaking choice that shattered both of them, he never stopped loving her. Everything he did afterwards—every decision, every sacrifice—was still for her. And once he got a second chance? He didn’t let go. He fought for her. Even when her insecurities tried to build walls between them, he stayed. Steady. Loyal. Devoted.

This story was everything. And more.
The love, the healing, the strength in vulnerability—it was all so powerful. And the warmth of the family dynamic, the beautiful Latin culture woven throughout—it gave the story so much heart.

I couldn’t get enough.

**“Once more, con emoción — and I felt *every* bit of it.”**

I didn’t expect this book to hit so hard — but it did, and then some. This is a second-chance romance that doesn’t pull its punches. It’s emotional, raw, and messy in the most addictive way.

The story follows a woman who *accidentally* texts the one man she swore she’d never speak to again — Alejandro, the boy her father hated, the boy who left, the boy she *never* stopped loving. What starts as a mistake quickly spirals into late-night texts, old emotions resurfacing, and a collision course between past wounds and present temptation.

There’s a quiet, simmering intensity to this book. Every word between them carries history, every silence screams. The tension isn’t just romantic — it’s personal, familial, cultural. The author beautifully explores what it means to be caught between who you were raised to be and who your heart wants you to become.

Alejandro is *the* ultimate forbidden love — charming, flawed, and achingly real. Their connection is electric, but what really stayed with me was how much this story explores the *cost* of love. Of choosing it. Of choosing *yourself*.

This isn't a fluffy romance. It's a story about returning to the thing that broke you — not because you're weak, but because maybe, just maybe, it's the only place you ever felt whole.

Highly recommend for fans of emotionally complex love stories with culture, conflict, and characters who feel like they’re breathing right off the page.

Another outstanding romance by Rae Knight! Thank you so much for the ARC. This second-chance romance between Beatriz and Alejandro is full of emotion from chapter one. Rae has a way of writing romance characters that is raw and unfiltered. They breathe and flow from page to page in the best way. She has a way of writing where you're not just reading their story, you are a part of it. I love every single one of her books and cherish being a part of her ARC team to see her take off. The emotional rollercoaster we went through with Bee and Ale during this book was intense. Bee has extreme trust issues and numerous insecurities that she constantly battles within her mind.
Meanwhile, Ale continued to show up for her and proved to her that he wasn’t going anywhere this time. He was fighting for her and their love. Her dad was not very helpful in the matter either. I loved Bee’s sister, Andrea. She constantly had her back, whether it came to her overprotective dad or the past boyfriends. Another secondary character I enjoyed was the friendship that Bee and Camila formed. The whole soccer team formed a found family aspect that you typically do see in Rae’s books. One thing that was different compared to her other books is the spice. It was considerably less than her other books. Which is not a bad thing, but was a little surprising. Overall, I really enjoyed Rae’s newest work. If you like second-chance romance, full of emotion, Hispanic representation, friends to lovers, and soccer sports romance, this is the book for you.

Rae Knight delivers a heartfelt and beautifully written second chance romance in Once More Con Emocion. This story captures everything readers love about the genre nostalgia, longing, emotional scars, and the irresistible pull of first love rekindled.

Beatriz and Alejandro come from opposite sides of life: she grew up in privilege, while he is the gardener’s son. Despite their different worlds, their bond has always been undeniable. As teenagers, friendship gave way to a passionate love, only to end abruptly, leaving wounds that never fully healed. Eight years later, fate and one misdirected late-night text brings them back together.

The chemistry between Beatriz and Alejandro is magnetic, filled with both tenderness and fire. Beatriz’s struggles with self-worth and the impact of her past relationships are portrayed with honesty and depth, while Alejandro’s unwavering devotion and determination to remind her of her strength make him a hero readers will swoon over. Together, they navigate heartbreak, healing, and the hope of reclaiming what was lost.

This novel is rich in emotion, layered with themes of resilience, forgiveness, and rediscovering love against all odds. Rae Knight has crafted a story that not only tugs at the heart but also empowers through its message of growth and second chances.

An unforgettable romance for anyone who believes true love can withstand the test of time.

WOW!!! I am a little tongue tied after reading this incredible story.
There is no lack of emotion in this journey between Beatriz and Alejandro. These 2 were soulmates from the beginning. They had such an incredible journey, filled with friendship, laughter, strength, loyalty, respect, support, and unconditional love.
Alejandro is their gardeners son who falls hard for Beatriz. They are it for each other, but for reasons later explained he leaves her heartbroken. He becomes a professional soccer player and accomplishes everything he promised Bee he would. Bee drowning her sorrows after walking in on her cheating fiance drunk dials Ale and their second chance begins!!! Bee's life has not been easy. Her story hit me hard being the child of immigrant parents. Our standards are different, the way we are raised is different, expectations, goals, them thinking they know what is best for us. I know it's all done from a place of love and care wanting the best of us, but it is tough and a constant struggle.
There is so much emotion and realness in this story. Feeling all the betrayal, the heartbreak, jealousy, second guessing everything, but also the unconditional love and fight that Ale gives to Bee.
This is a MUST READ!!!! You will cry, laugh, be angry, and confused but you will Love it!!!!

This sweet, charming second chance romance is full of all the emotions you can think of. From sadness, anger, betrayal, pain, love, peace, & overall happiness, this novel travels through them all with you! Alejandro & Beatriz’s story is one of hope, persistence, and choosing in each other every day, between and through all the ups and downs in life. The deep love Alejandro has for his Killer Bee is wonderful as he fights against all odds, including against her family’s perceptions of him and past feelings toward him. Choosing to fight for her to have both him and her family as part of her future, together and without tension. I think the journey Beatriz must make through the story is one many of us can relate to: the journey of healing, searching through and mending old wounds, betrayals, and misunderstandings to see if she really can allow herself to hope and hold on to happiness this time.
Some of my favorite quotes from this novel:
“I want to take my time showing you how much I love you – how much I’ve always loved you.”
“I raised you to be strong… your mother raised you to be joyful. Sometimes strength is letting yourself choose joy.”
“Don’t push away happiness when it stands right in front of you. You hear me?”
“Give me the heavy, mi amor. I’ll take it every time.”
“You two are the proof that second chances are worth fighting for.”

I absolutely went through almost every emotion with this book. However, Rae completely outdid herself with this book, hands down! Beatriz pissed me off being indecisive but I grew fond of her when she became more vocal and started to speak her truth regardless if it meant causing chaos within her family dynamics. I absolutely loved Alejandro from the start and throughout the book he the main character I gravitated towards and he made me giddy, feel nostalgic, and his development throughout is unmatched. Andrea is a badass with a protectiveness of her sister, but she gets vulnerable and listens with the intent to understand and has been the glue for their family. (Hoping she will get her own book!) Beatriz’s dad made me want to throw my Kindle, but had the biggest growth in the book from being closed off, unyielding, to being open and receptive when it counted the most. I love the teammates and the bonds that were formed that had the closeness of a family despite not being related by blood. I wish I could read this again for the first time because I’m super obsessed and loved every second of it.

This book is an emotional rollercoaster from the first page to the last. Alejandro and Beatriz, Bee, are the definition of childhood sweethearts to lovers with a whole heap of trauma and drama mixed in. He is the poor gardener's son while she is the rich daughter of an unkind man that his father works for. Alejandros love for Beatriz is so pure and true and it absolutely killed me watching him struggle with his own self worth and confidence. Once Beatriz believes Alejandro has left her forever she ends up in a series of awful relationships in which she is cheated on and treated very poorly. 8 years later Bee accidentally drunk texts Alejandro and when he shows up to get her it rekindles everything they assumed they had lost. I absolutely adored watching them fight their way back to each other. In the process of making their relationship work this time, they both had to overcome so many heart wrenching obstacles which led them to grow exponentially both together and as individuals. Their chemistry was undeniable and the spice was fantastically written! I can’t wait to see what comes next from Rae Knight!

This second chance romance was everything a girl can ask for. Beatriz and Alejandro have come from different beginnings, but it’s always been them together.
Beatriz comes from the ritzy neighborhood, from money and Alejandro the gardeners son. Her friend since before she can remember and when they are teenagers they become so much more. Sadly their relationship ends abruptly with no real explanation. These two are to never be around each other again, until one drunken night Beatriz accidentally text Alexandro instead of her sister for a ride. Now, even though 8 years have past, they find themselves falling back into love. The pieces are all there and they seem to fit. But can the scars of the past really be ignored. Beatriz past relationships, including her first and deepest love for Alejandro…have left her scared, feeling weak and small at times. Alejandro knows what she needs, he will help her grow back into that confident girl, that spitfire he fell in love with all those years ago. He will help her discover her strength once more and she will help his broken heart. I loved these two ❤️

One More Con Emoción is a very sweet, heartwarming, cutesy, and passionate second chance romance between two people who came from different lives. The intense love story that unfolds between Beatriz and Alejandro is like a telenovela with their dramatic reconnection, her unaccepting father, a few misunderstandings, and the burning passion for one another. It’s a great page turner with wonderful Hispanic representation that had my heart fluttering, giggling, tearing up, and constantly craving Cuban food 🤭

Alejandro made the mistake of breaking Beatriz’s heart once and now that he has her back, he’s not letting her go without a fight. Beatriz swore she would never give the guy who broke her another chance after the way things ended, but now he’s there picking her up after she accidentally text the wrong person. Alejandro opts to take this serendipitous opportunity to make things right and give his Killer Bee what she’s always deserved. While things progress and truths come to light, Beatriz is torn between the man who’s always had her heart and her family 🫠

Thank you so much Rae Knight for this ARC 🫶🏻
