Scottie Monroe knows her projects are perfect…if only she believed in herself the same way.

On camera, she’s the confident DIY influencer who can transform forgotten spaces into something beautiful. Off camera, she’s still trying to prove to her mother that what she does is more than a hobby.

When Scottie lands a reality TV renovation deal centered around her late grandmother’s abandoned house in Bluestone Lakes, it feels like the opportunity of a lifetime. A real show. A real renovation. A real chance to prove she’s enough.

There’s just one problem.

The head contractor for the show is Tucker Daniels—the reckless one-night stand she had the night before her big audition. The same man who slipped out before she woke up.

Tucker hides behind easy smiles and sarcastic one-liners, but beneath the humor is a man who doesn’t let anyone close, especially not someone who sees straight through the cracks he works so hard to hide.

When the producers decide the show needs a little extra chemistry, Scottie and Tucker are forced to fake date for the cameras. But as demolition begins, the line between staged romance and something real starts to blur. The more they tear into the house, the more they find long-buried secrets and emotions neither of them are ready to face.

But when sparks fly, nothing stays the same.
And sometimes the past has to burn to ashes before you can finally build your Dream Home.

I fall more in love with the fictional town of Bluestone Lakes with each book! So if you have not read the Bluestone Lakes series yet, this is your sign! Seriously one of my favorite small town romance series. And Dream Home? This one was such a fun, unique and different plot that I devoured!

As a trash reality TV connoisseur, I have come to the realization that I absolutely love the whole reality tv trope in books and I need more. With a lot of the tropes that are over done, this shakes things up a bit with the added element of strangers looking in on a relationship developing on screen. And to be honest, the concept of a reality renovation TV show was perfect for Tucker. But what I loved most is that Tucker and Scottie have met before and had a wild one night stand.

Listen, this is all I am going to say, my sweet baby Tucker needs to be protected at all costs. He is the perfect example of someone who appears to be a happy go lucky person on the outside but that's a coping mechanism for some very dark thoughts. I felt like Jenn did a fabulous job at highlighting men's mental health. With that being said, I thought Scottie and Tucker complimented each other beautifully. They both filled each others cups in ways that they are so desperate for. And their banter?!?! It was perfect. They made me giggle.

Now, I will say, this one is a SLOOOOOOW BURN. Jenn will make you earn it like the good girls that you are. But honestly, I feel like it fits their story. It creates a good amount of tension and angst. Their relationship really blossoms outside of physical intimacy. You really feel their longing for one another on the page.

If you have the opportunity to listen to this one of audio I highly recommend it! Dream Home is narrated in DUET NARRATION by Aaron Shedlock and Kelsey Navarro-Foster. I felt like they both brought the story and characters to life!

You should read this book if you like:

#Review: *Dream Home* - Jenn McMahon - ARC [18+]
4.6/5✨
3/5🌶️

When the opportunity of being part of a reality TV show occurred, Scottie Monroe took it without hesitation. And for starting to film, Scottie needed a place to renovate and that's how she ended up renovating her grandma house from Bluestone Lakes. But what Scottie didn't predict was the fact that her one night stand would also be working with her on this important project. Tucker Daniels was the man who just disappeared on her after an amazing night together, but serendipity made for them to meet again. The problem was that the producers decided to spice things up a bit and thought that they should fake date while the cameras were on. But being constantly in each other's presence would make things harder for them, being impossible to ignore that fire which ignited between them. Will their fake relationship make a step into the real life as well or it would only remain a TV stunt?

This story had a slightly different narrative structure, containing some cute parts of a narrator, which was interpreted by Jenn McMahon herself, who did a really amazing job, by the way 🤭. The narrator introduced the situation of the couple while filming the TV show and he stirred things up a bit🤭. Scottie and Tucker were brought to life by the talented Kelsey Navarro-Foster and Aaron Shedlock. They really succeeded in making me think that I'm watching a movie, all those twist and turns, all that emotion was simply incredible and which were narrated with so much intensity. Both Scottie and Tucker had their own demons which consumed them and they were trying to overcome them. I liked so much that slow burn between these two, having sooo many tensioned moments while working together, being so hard for them to not act towards that pull they felt for each other. I loved how in the process of renovating that house, they also did that with their own souls, being something really emotional for both of them. It was a road which made them realize some heavy things and I liked how they gave that support to one another during this process.

It was so, so nice to be back to the small town of Bluestone Lakes, where that amazing energy was still so very much present because of the people from that town. I had a blast with Nan, who kept her witty personality in this story 🤭. I'm excited for the next book of this series, having a little suspicion about who will be the main MMC of that one🤭.

Proud to be part of Jenn's content team and grateful for being able to read and listen to this book. Thank you so much Jenn and team for sending me the e-ARC and ALC of this beautiful book!🩵

Dream Home
(Bluestone Lakes Book 3)
By: Jenn McMahon

“Is that what you want, Scottie?” My voice stays low, lips grazing the shell of her ear. “To bang it out in one go?” Her body tenses, but she doesn’t move—doesn’t pull away. “Think you can handle finishing what you started?”

“Careful, Scottie. The way you say my name…like that? It’ll ruin me.”

“You said you can’t breathe when we’re in the same room. I hope you know you make it easier for me to breathe.”

Scottie and Tucker’s story is a nice warm hug that we all need! I absolutely enjoyed reading their story about competing on a realty show and transforming an old family home into their dream home. All while pretending to fake date. I loved seeing Scottie learning to choose herself and her happiness instead of trying to be what everyone else expected her to be. How Tucker dealt with the grief he was drowning in. And I loved seeing Nan pop in and drop the truth bombs. Gosh this is my favorite of the series! Loved it and the audio book was fantastic!

لأن فجأة يضطرون الأبطال يدخلون في -تمثيلية- علاقة رومانسية عشان يرفعون تقييم برنامجهم "Nailed It or Failed It" 💅🏻.

Dream Home was a sweet, feel-good, small town romance that was a joy to read. Tucker and Scottie had amazing banter and I loved watching how their relationship unfolded throughout the book in an authentic way.

Scottie had an amazing night with Tucker, but was let down when he left without giving her his number. Months later, she comes to Bluestones Lakes to renovate her grandmother's home for a big reality tv show. She has a lot to prove to her unsupportive mother and wants to show everyone she can be a success at renovating a home. She is shocked to learn Tucker is the lead contractor for the show and things get even more complicated when the producers want them to fake date for the show.

Their connection and chemistry were perfection. I really appreciated how supportive they were of each other. Some of the best parts of this book was the found family of the small town characters and how they stepped in to help Scottie achieve her dreams. I also loved the way Scottie finds what home really meant to her and it definitely involved Tucker.

Tucker is such a sweet and amazing cinnamon-roll hero, but he has trauma in his past that kept him from opening up. His backstory is so heartbreaking and I loved how he finally opened up to Scottie and be vulnerable with someone.

- duet narration audiobook with Kelsey Navarro Foster and Aaron Shedlock

It’s our favourite golden retriever, Tucker’s time to shine. In Home Field Advantage, we know he had a one-night stand while in San Francisco with Dallas. In Dream Home, we find out that the woman was Scottie, who’s now in Bluestone Lakes filming a Fixer Upper-style reality show as she renovates her late grandmother’s abandoned home.

Tucker is the lead contractor on the project, and to make things even messier, the producers ask them to fake-date for the cameras. But with heated glances, lingering touches, simmering chemistry, and all that flirty banter, it doesn’t feel all that fake.

Beyond the romance, Scottie is reconnecting with her past and her family, while learning she’s enough exactly as she is. Tucker, meanwhile, finally starts to open up about his own trauma and the night that changed everything. Together, they find a sense of home in each other, someone who truly understands and uplifts them.

The Bluestone Lakes crew is back in full force, and Scottie especially finds her people in Lily and Blair. Loved that dynamic!

The duet narration audiobook is a five-star banger. I hadn’t listened to Kelsey in a while, but she and Aaron are perfectly cast. Aaron nails Tucker’s golden retriever energy, while Kelsey brings both Scottie’s sunshine and her more emotional moments to life. And Jenn popping in as the Nailed It or Failed It announcer is such a fun touch!

Thanks so much to Must Love Audio for the early copy 🤎.

How does this series just keep being this good? I’m a total sucker for anything to do with small-town romances, and this is 100% some of the best I’ve read so far. Dream Home’s concept is so much fun: an influencer doing a home renovation TV show in the small town where her late grandmother lived! And the construction worker helping her with the project? None other than the guy she had an unforgettable ONS with. And now they have to fake date for the show — what could go wrong, right?

Scottie Monroe is the sweetest person ever. She’s a total DIY queen and sees the world through rose-colored glasses. She loves Sour Patch Kids but has an aversion to the green and yellow ones, which is such a funny quirk. She’s the best friend you’ll ever meet, and she’s just a kind-hearted human to her core. And Tucker — oh, my sweet Tucker Daniels. He’s such a sensitive and sweet guy. He has his guard up but truly wants a genuine human connection. He’s strong, kind, and loving, and completely head over heels for Scottie. He’s such a good friend, and I would love to be part of this friend group too.

Their connection was instant and so epic. Their chemistry during the fake dating was unreal and sooooo hot. How they managed to work together like they did without giving in beats me! Their story felt like a warm hug or snuggling up under a cozy blanket. I absolutely enjoyed every single moment of their story, and gosh darn, they had electric chemistry too. They both had their personal struggles, especially Tucker with grief, but I loved reading about how strong and brave they both were and how finding each other helped them in one way or another. And as always, Nan was the ultimate treat. She’s a gem, and I loved how she popped in from time to time with some truth bombs. Definitely my favorite series!

Thank you, Jenn, for my ARC!

This whole series is just so sweet and feels like such a warm hug. It’s not really spicy, but I absolutely love the whole series. The town is amazing and I love all the characters.

Oh, sweet Tucker. 🥹

We know he goes to San Francisco with Dallas, and while he’s there, he has a one night stand with Scottie. They immediately hit it off and have such a strong connection. Scottie is there trying to land a spot on a fixer upper show, but Tucker ends up sneaking out the next morning.

Fast forward, and Scottie gets the opportunity for the show! The only problem is that she needs a home to fix up. That’s when her dad tells her that her grandmother left her a house in Bluestone Lakes.

Scottie is constantly trying to live up to her mother’s standards and feels like she’s never enough. Then she gets to the house and meets the contractor who will be helping her. Lo and behold, it’s Tucker!

Scottie feels unwanted because he left, but Tucker secretly felt too much and that’s why he ran. I loved this concept for the storyline. The way Scottie was accepted into the friend group was so great, and the way Tucker fought his feelings for her had me melting. 🫠🫠 Really, they were both fighting their feelings.

Tucker’s past. 😭😭 He has been trying to hide so much of himself behind his humor, and my heart hurt for him.

When they finally let go and come together, it was so good. 🔥 I also loved the way Scottie finally stood up for herself with her mom. That was excellent.

I’m so ready for the last book!

Spicy chapters 🔥

🎧 Audiobook: narrated in duet by Aaron Shedlock and Kelsey Navarro, and I loved their narration. They did such a great job bringing Tucker and Scottie to life.

Tucker and Scottie meet during a one-night stand in San Francisco, but he leaves without saying goodbye. When Scottie later moves to Bluestone Lake for a home renovation reality show, she finds out Tucker is her contractor, and she’s also staying on his property.

Their banter is so good, and when the production team suggests fake dating for the show, things get even more fun. What starts as pretending quickly turns into something real, even though they try to fight it.

Both of them are dealing with their own struggles, Scottie with family pressure and expectations, and Tucker with a past he keeps hidden behind humor. Watching them slowly open up, trust each other, and fall in love was beautiful.

The found family in this book was everything, and I loved seeing Scottie finally find a place where she belongs. Their romance is a slow burn, but so worth it, and when they finally go all in? 😮‍🔥

I loved Tucker’s story so much, it added so much depth to his character. The growth for both of them was amazing, and the side characters brought so much heart and humor.

I can’t wait for Lily’s book. Thank you to Jenn and her team for this ARC/ALC. I’m so grateful to be part of this team. This review reflects my honest thoughts.

Dream Home brings all the found family and small town vibes you love from Bluestone Lakes books 1 and 2, but is also SO sweet, tender, and emotional!

Tucker, the town’s golden retriever contractor whose mission is to make everyone laugh has been hiding behind that facade since he moved to Bluestone Lakes as a child.

When Scottie drops into town to renovate her grandmother’s old house for a home improvement reality show, they’re both surprised to recognize each other from a steamy one night stand months before.

What ensues is the perfect situation for fake dating. Pretend to be a couple for the cameras and nail the renovation. What could possibly go wrong?

Jenn handles all the emotions throughout Tucker and Scottie’s stories beautifully and gives us such a sweet love story about loving yourself and a much needed reminder that it’s okay not to be okay.

When you find out why Tucker loves the door chime at Seven Stools even though it drives Griffin crazy… my little heart!!!

Dream Home is book 3 in the Bluestone Lakes series. This book follows Scottie and Tucker and their tv show Nailed it or Failed it. I just love the concept of the reality tv show within the book. It was so fun and exciting and the little episode parts fit so perfectly into the story and I am obsessed with how they were narrated by Jenn!

𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑵𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒔: Tucker Daniels & Scottie Monroe
𝑺𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈: Bluestone Lakes

Scottie and Tucker are breaking through not just the walls of her grandmother's house but they also have to break through each other's walls. These two carry a lot of pain and baggage that they hold close but throughout the renovations of the house, and fake dating for the cameras, they are able to break through and help each other.

This audiobook was such a fun, charming escape and completely pulled me into the chaos of reality TV. The audiobook was narrated by Kelsey Navarro Foster & Aaron Shedlock. The audiobook experience made it even better. The narrators brought so much personality and energy to the story that it honestly felt like binge-watching your favorite comfort reality show. And Jenn McMahon as the Nailed it or Failed it announcer was a perfect touch!

All the feels for this fake-dating romance, and a what a joy to return to the small town of Bluestone Lakes. DIYer Scottie is set to prove that she can make it, with an opportunity that lets her renovate her late grandmother’s house for a home improvement show. To her surprise, her one night stand is her head contractor, Tucker. Producers on the show created an opportunity that neither of them imagined would be more, they suggested fake dating for the sake of ratings. I enjoyed how the proximity reignited their chemistry, and was empathetic with the vulnerability showcased when they worked through their past trauma and current drama together. The two were fiery and sweet and passionate, and just meant to be.
I experienced this on both formats. The audiobook was a duet narration by Aaron Shedlock and Kelsey Navarro Foster, with a special appearance from the author herself. Their performance was animated, believable and enjoyable.

4.5⭐️ This was such a fun book to read, but also I loved the emotions and vulnerability we see from Scottie & Tucker as they start to break through each other’s walls. Their chemistry was clear from that first night, but when Scottie shows up in Bluestone Lakes and finds out Tucker is the main contractor for fixing up her grandmother’s old house, her sassy side is out in full force! Their banter is literally so good and perfectly matched for each other! And I love that they are ‘fake dating’ to sell the show, but love that nothing about it feels fake.

The audiobook is performed in duet by Kelsey Navarro-Foster & Aaron Shedlock - these two literally brought this book to life and it was so fun to listen to! The emotions really came through in their narration and I’d recommend listening to this one!

This was hands down my favorite book in the series and I’m honestly not okay about it. This whole series feels like the coziest warm hug and the emotional payoff...it hit soo hard. I’m obsessed with Bluestone Lakes, the small town vibes, and every single character. so ready for the next one

And Tucker??? Oh sweet baby Tucker. 🥹

Tucker and Scottie’s connection was instant from the very beginning. Their one night stand in San Francisco had so much chemistry, I was fanning myself many times. Tucker sneaks out the next morning because he felt too much, and that absolutely wrecked me. I was so angry with him. Fast forward to Scottie inheriting a house in Bluestone Lakes for her fixer upper show…only to find out Tucker is the contractor helping her renovate it. The tension? The awkwardness? The FEELINGS? So good.

Scottie broke my heart too because she spent her whole life trying to be enough for her mom, and watching her slowly find confidence, friendship, and people who truly loved her made me emotional. I loved how naturally she fit into the friend group, and Tucker fighting his feelings while secretly caring so deeply for her had me melting the entire book.

And Tucker’s backstory??? Yeah, I cried. The way he hides everything behind humor while carrying around so much pain just hurt in the best way.

Watching these two finally stop running from their feelings and choose each other was EVERYTHING. This book just made me feel so much, and I already know I’m going to be thinking about Tucker and Scottie for a long time.

Scottie heads to Bluestone Lakes to renovate her grandmother's house for a reality TV show, determined to prove she can succeed despite years of pressure from her highly critical mother. What she doesn't expect is to come face-to-face with Tucker—the man she shared an amazing night with months ago before he disappeared without even leaving his number. When the show's producers decide a fake dating storyline will boost ratings, things get complicated fast.

Tucker and Scottie were so easy to root for. Their banter felt natural, their chemistry was undeniable, and I loved that their relationship wasn't built on endless misunderstandings or unnecessary drama. They genuinely cared about each other and supported one another, which made everything that developed between them feel earned.

What really got me, though, was the emotional depth behind both characters. Scottie is carrying around so much pressure to be perfect and constantly chasing approval she'll probably never get from her mother. And don't even get me started on her parents because my blood pressure went up every time her mother appeared on page. Her dad may have been quieter about it, but standing by and doing nothing didn't exactly earn him any points either.

Then there's Tucker. Sweet, funny, golden-retriever Tucker. The guy who always seems to have a joke ready and keeps everyone around him smiling. Meanwhile, underneath all of that is a man carrying years of hurt and trauma that he's never really dealt with. The more I learned about his past, the more my heart broke for him. Watching him slowly let Scottie in and trust someone with the parts of himself he'd kept hidden was easily my favorite part of the book. Tucker, sweetheart, I just wanted to wrap you in a blanket and tell you everything was going to be okay.

Despite some heavy topics, the book never felt heavy for long. The Bluestone Lakes crew always seems to know exactly when to show up and lighten the mood, and those moments of humor and community kept everything balanced. That's one of my favorite things about this series—the town itself feels like a character, and spending time with everyone never gets old.

💫Thank you to Luna Literary and Jenn McMahon for this ARC!💫

Thoughts:
This was cute!! I have been really enjoying this series from Jenn McMahon and was very excited for Tucker's story. Especially on audio it has been so fun! And the little added touch of Jenn herself doing the TV show intros for the audio was so good.

First I think the TV show was such a fun aspect of this book. It helped for me to keep the plot interesting and was a good way to make sure Tucker and Scottie had to work together. And them fake dating just felt so effortless with the chemistry between them. I adored them together and you could just feel their connection.

I was so glad that Scottie was able to find what she was looking for in Bluestone Lakes and also that Tucker could work through some of his past and find his person in Scottie. I was kind of surprised at Tucker's background but I think Jenn does a great job with mental health representation and those aspects were done well.

I also really enjoyed seeing our faves from the first two books and how they brought Scottie right into their friend group. Some of those scenes all together made my heart happy! Also the little teaser we got for the next book?!? Sounds angsty and I'm here for it.

I do have to say that while I really enjoyed this while I was listening, I don't think it is one that is going to stand out as a favorite personally. I think I enjoyed the first two books in the series a bit more, though I don't really have anything I didn't like about this. Just an enjoyable listen, but nothing that blew me away.

Definitely recommend this book and this series to my small town romance lovers out there! Audios are fantastic too!

Thank you so much to the author, Must Love Audio, and Luna Literary Management for the advanced copies!

Dream Home by Jenn McMahon is a delightful, emotional installment in the Bluestone Lakes series that perfectly blends small-town charm with reality TV drama. The story follows Scottie Monroe, a bubbly DIY influencer who lands a massive reality TV show contract to renovate her late grandmother's abandoned house. The catch? The lead contractor is Tucker Daniels-her reckless one-night stand who snuck out on her months ago. To boost TV ratings, the producers force them into a fake-dating arrangement. As walls are torn down structurally, their emotional walls begin to crumble too. Scottie is a determined, sassy heroine dealing with intense perfectionism and pressure from her critical mother. Tucker plays the part of the town jokester and the ultimate golden retriever hero, but underneath his quick wit lies a beautifully written, vulnerable broken boy dealing with deep past trauma. Their chemistry is electric, and the banter is absolutely top-notch. The emotional depth, heavy focus on men's mental health representation, and cozy "found family" dynamics make this a standout romance. It loses just one star due to a slightly predictable reality TV misunderstanding trope, but the execution is incredibly heartwarming.

Favorite Qoutes:
"Home isn't the place I lost. It's the place I'm choosing. It's her. “I've spent years being the comic relief and the guy who filled any gap of silence with laughter just so no one would see the cracks. But not you.
You saw everything... You, Scottie Monroe, are my dream home."
"She's supposed to be my fake girlfriend, not the reason I forget how to breathe."
"Homes aren't built from memory, they're built from moments."

If you are looking for your next book to fall in love with - let it be this one!! I have loved every book in this series, but I think I can confidently say that this is my favorite!

Scottie & Tucker are legitimately EVERYTHING. The way these two healed each other was so beautiful. And the fact that they thought they’d never see each other again and then were basically forced to be around each other was kismet. I swear, I will be thinking about these two forever.

Scottie may just be one of my new favorite FMC’s. She was so colorful and bold, and the way she believed in herself, even when those around her didn’t - so good. She knew she was worth more than the performance she was always putting on, and I’m so glad she was finally able to stand up for herself and allow herself to be perfectly imperfect.

Tucker, you beautiful, perfect, broken man. I love him so much and all I want to do is wrap him up in the biggest hug. He went through a truly unimaginable experience and even though he had a hard time getting through it, he allowed himself to open up and let someone in and help him heal.

I really love how Jenn brought mental health to light with BOTH of these characters. It was so well done, and she made both of them so relatable.

Thank you Jenn for the ARC - I will forever cherish these two. I cannot wait for Lily’s story next!!

Wow. This book altered my brain in the best ways, the most seen ways. Jenn’s attention to men’s mental health awareness was so real, raw, emotional, and crafted so well! But also the attention to Scottie’s need for perfection.. and the weight of feeling like you have to be someone you aren’t meant to be. This book touched on some really hard topics, yet some of the best topics to showcase in a book to resemble real life. Scottie and Tucker were truly phenomenal, their banter was hilarious, but their attention to each other was so comforting. Watching them both come from a really struggling place, to finding and facing their happily ever after!

Also the duet narration deserves an award, it was such an enjoyable listen. I loved how well Tucker and Scottie were brought to life. AND add in Jenn’s voicing too, PERFECT!

I truly had the BEST time reading/listening to Dream Home! Thank you so much to Jenn for the ARC from your content team! I’m here to say, Jenn you truly NAILED IT!🧡🔨

ALC + ARC Review

Story: 3⭐️/5
Audio performance: 5⭐️/5
Narrated in duet by: Aaron Shedlock and Kelsey Navarro-Foster

I was so excited for Tucker Daniels, the goofball who hides his pain through jokes and making others around him feel so happy! I knew I would love him, he was honestly the absolute sweetest, the perfect level of swoony, funny, and spicy but my fav was vulnerable Tuck 🥹 he was so deserving of this love and I’m so happy he found it! ❤️

Scottie had a shitty ass mother who expects her to always be perfect! She was so infuriating, it’s a miracle Scottie turned out to be the kind person she ended up being🥹 her one night stand with Tucker was so goddamn hot and the way they rekindle where they left off was so great! 🥹

Often times my reviews are based on how they made me feel, and as great as Tucker and Scottie were, there were moments that felt a little repetitive or just felt a little long for nothing. It felt sweet and swoony but I don’t know if I loved the whole reality TV theme, I think it’s a new genre that I tried and just wasn’t for me. The audio performance however was truly incredible, and really just wow! It did make it for an enjoyable listen and I loved Jenn’s voice in it too! ❤️

Thank you Luna Literary and Jenn McMahon for this ARC and ALC opportunity, I never take it for granted ❤️

Dream home was such a fun read, I adored Scottie & Tucker. It was fun and cute but also it was heartwarming and emotional. I mean tucker is broken and if you know me I love a broken mmc. I was already sold for him from the beginning.

Tucker. He is everything. He is this happy golden retriever who makes everyone laugh on the outside but on the inside he is battling with demons of his past and can’t seem to let it go. But here comes Sunshine Scottie who is in town for a DIY home improvement influencer and the new lead for a reality home reno tv show. Tucker is the lead contractor of this small town and will have to work together with scottie but what happens when they start to fake date for the camera to add the drama into the show? Will they be able to stop the feelings from taking over.

I LOVE THEM SO MUCH. Their chemistry was everything I needed and more. I am loving this series so much. But can we talk about the audio?! OBSESSED!! Aaron Shedlock and Kelsey Navarro-Foster with a special appearance by Jenn McMahon herself!! I LOVED IT! Highly recommend the audio for this one! I could listen to Jenn’s voice all day. It was fun to hear her shine in this!!

What to Expect:
🧡Small Town
🔨Reality TV Show (Home Reno)
🧡Fake Dating for the Camera’s
🔨One Night Stand
🧡Broken Golden Retriever MMC
🔨Forced Proximity

I've been waiting for this one.. and Jenn didn't disappoint.
Tucker from the beginning has been the one I've been waiting on.
From the way he always had this happy go lucky front, you knew something had to happen to me for that to happen. Those who always try the hardest, fought the toughest battles. And his will break your heart into a million pieces.

Scott always pressured to be the best, do her best, and never settle for disappointment. all because her mom naggs on her to do things a certain way... finally found the way to do it her way... and finally go what she wanted, freedom, the guy, the job and the house. On her own terms, and the not the perfection her mother forced her to be.

3✨ 2🌶️

I’m in the minority on this, I know, but I just didn’t love this one like I loved the first two. The pacing was off and the relationship development between Scottie and Tucker didn’t feel natural. The story kinda dragged a bit through the renovation parts and the middle of the book, and maybe I’m just not a fan of reality show type tropes too, cause I wasn’t loving this storyline. Scottie’s mom pissed me off, and she was just a straight up bitch.. but in the same breath why tf is her dad letting her be treated like shit? Like he’s seen and heard the way his wife talks to their daughter and he does nothing? Wtf dude??

Also… the narrator for the fmc was kind of getting on my nerves. 😬🫣

"You, Scottie Monroe, are my dream home."

Thank you so much Luna Literary for the copy! I like watching home renovation shows, so I was excited to read Jenn's new book, and to see how it would work on a book.

Dream Home had a mix of the show + the relationship development. It follows Scottie Monroe, a 24-year-old DIY influencer. She gets a reality TV renovation deal - Nailed It or Failed It, and the goal is to renovate her late grandmother's abandoned house. When she arrives at Bluestone Lakes, a surprise awaits her. The head contractor for the show is Tucker Daniels, the one-night stand she had right before her audition to the TV show. He left before she woke up and they never talked again... now, they're working together! Seeing them interact, the producers decide they have chemistry that could be shown in the show to attract more viewers. Now, Scottie and Tucker are fake dating for the cameras.

2.75 ⭐

Unfortunately, the story didn't captivate me much. I'd say my biggest deal was the pacing - which I thought moved a bit too quickly for the romantic development to feel real and natural, and also had a lot of details for the renovation that even I, who enjoys watching renovation/decoration stuff, felt a bit bored. To be fair, I probably wasn't in the mindspace for it, and could have enjoyed it better some other time. I dragged my reading a bit, since I sometimes felt uninterested.

Overall, Dream Home is a cute small-town romance with genuine characters that have fun banter
If these are tropes you enjoy - forced proximity, small-town, found family, fake dating for a TV renovation show - you'll probably like this.

Pacing is really a preference, and I enjoy a slow burn, so when big moments happen, after special small ones, it feels much more satisfying. I had a bit of a hard time connecting to the couple and feeling like their chemistry and connection was natural and that they were so in love. When they first met, I thought it was great - Tucker feeling drawn to Scottie the moment she walked in, flirting at the bar, and everything - but afterwards... I just didn't feel like they had a lot of moments and conversation to really fall in love.

I wish Scottie's background with her parents had a better unfolding. Scottie's mother was infuriating, and the way she acted because she "wanted the best for her daughter" was actually just mean. I wish Scottie's dad stepped up to try and stop his wife from saying bad things to their daughter. There's a moment they end up talking about everything and why Scottie doesn't remember her grandmother, it felt awkward and not the time and place.

Tucker was cute, flirty and caring. He had a traumatic experience that appears in the book - and despite it all, he keeps his energy high and enjoys making others happy - and it's special when he confides in Scottie to talk about what happened to his family. He doesn't apologize for wanting Scottie and is upfront about that, and doesn't want to pretend. He reassures Scottie how much he wants her - he remembers small details and wants to create a dream home for her. Scottie tries to keep a safe distance at first, to not fall in love with him, but without realizing, she's already there.

“Do you ever stop arguing with me?” “Nope. It’s part of my charm.”
“Don’t laugh at me.” “You’re cute when you’re mad.” “Don’t.”
“Let me be the one who knows you. All of you.”

I adore the family aspect of romance books and seeing the previous characters and the family scenes, where they show love and care, are super special. Nan is a joyful character! Side characters are pretty important and she adds lots of fun and personality. She’s everywhere, knows everything, and meddles in the MCs lives (lovingly hahaha).

Even though I didn't love this book, it was an entertaining and had a cool plot/blurb. I hope it reaches its readers! Thanks so much for the copy.
