🍯 what a perfect novella for the fall time! i loved the magic of this story, the setting alone being in salem really just made me feel like it’s the fall time. the witchy themes also were wonderful, i very much enjoyed how the author wrote about their practice. the plot twist also had me gasping, i was shook!
thank you to the author and their team for providing me with this arc, all opinions are my own!
Thank you to the author K.M. Woods for sending me a digital ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Once I started reading I couldn’t stop. It was a very addicting story and perfect time of year to read in fall. I love everything and anything to do with Salem, witches, and hauntings. This book was very well written. Not every witch is born in Salem. This book would be perfect to read on a chilly and rainy night in October.
The ending is a twist you won’t see coming!!
This book will come out on October 5th. This book gives all the Salem vibes!
A huge thanks to K.M. Woods for giving me the privilege to read the book before the book is official. I cannot wait to read more from K.M. Woods.
This was a fast read with all the witchy, fall vibes that are perfect for this time of year (or any time of year really)! This book is set in Salem and centers around a witch who is trying to break a curse placed on her family long ago. I thought the author did a great job of setting the mood and tone of this book. This book kept my interest throughout. Overall this was an enjoyable read that would be perfect to add to your TBR for October. This book will release on October 5, 2025.

Witches, masked hot mommy, demons and also set in Salem? This is a recipe for fun!
Greer is back in Salem, after her aunt's death while being haunted by forces from beyond this world. As if that isn't enough, her boss and best friend's sister Sloane is irritated by Greer, occasionally chiding her and making up excuses to find fault in her. But as Greer is threatened more and more by the supernatural forces, she and her friends must find a way to stop this curse forever.
I love novels below 200 pages which have fun elements and this was exactly that. We follow Greer as she come to her full potential and tackles the issues and the problems around her and the family. The story is set in Salem, famous for it's witch trials and it added an eerie quality to the story which I enjoyed a lot. Lots of witchcraft elements were sprinkled throughout the story, along with some creepy psychic visions, which makes this an absolutely brilliant read for fall or Samhain!
Hot masked mommy Sloane is the main highlight for me okay? Broody and grumpy, she gave me the vibes of a gothic Byronic heroine (a vibe I enjoy a lot). Also the way she was fiercely protective of Greer?👀 Please sign me up for whatever that is!
Ohhh the spicy between Greer and Sloane was scrumptious. I love short and spicy books with witches and demons and paranaormal stuff and this delivers exactly that in a fun sized portion!
Warning… I devoured this in a day so pick this up and clear your schedule. 🤗
A beautifully atmospheric blend of Salem witch lore, reincarnated love, and quiet heartbreak. Salt and Honey by KM Woods is a story that hums with history and hope. It’s moody, romantic, and full of that bittersweet magic that lingers long after you close the book.
Salt and Honey drew me in from the first page with its mix of Salem’s haunted history and a love story that refuses to fade. KM Woods balances atmosphere and emotion beautifully. You can almost smell the sea air, feel the weight of old secrets, and hear the echo of lives that never really ended.
The story moves between timelines, tying the witch trials to modern-day characters who are unknowingly bound by the past. It’s got a quiet ache to it, the kind that sneaks up on you as you realize the line between magic and memory isn’t as clear as it seems. I’ve been to Salem, and Woods captures that blend of beauty and heaviness perfectly.
The romance burns slow, threaded through themes of forgiveness, fate, and the legacy of what we carry. For me, that’s what made it special. It’s not just about witches, it’s about women reclaiming their stories.
🎶 Song pairing: Playing on repeat while I read this one was “My Love Mine All Mine” by Mitski.
If you love moody, witchy stories with heart and history, Salt and Honey is a hidden gem from an indie author who deserves more eyes on her work.
Its sapphic witches meets Practical Magic vibes for the perfect fall read! It’s absolutely a vibe.
Twist on “familiars,” grumpy/sunshine trope & a betrayal you might not see coming and maybe you won’t mind being cursed when you got Sloane looking out for you.
Absolutely love a good LGBTQIA+ rep and I ate this one up! I will say Sloane did have to grow on me cause babe, why you grumpy out the gate? But truly, she was such a great character and I was a little surprised at the ending as a fellow big sister. I don’t want to spoil it - but I did not see it coming like that! Vibes were emmaculent and made you a bit jealous your aunt didn’t leave you a Victorian cottage in Salem. I would love more of their story.
Plot was well paced and all in all was an enjoyable read!
Why You Should Read It -Ending you don’t see coming. -Takes familiar magical elements and just spins them enough to make it new and fun! -Well done story you will devour.
This was the perfect fast-paced witchy read, and honestly, the fact that it takes place in Salem just makes it even better! The atmosphere was moody, magical, and a little mysterious.
Greer and Sloane were such wonderful characters, and their banter was everything. Sloane was the ultimate broody, grumpy FMC who tries to keep everyone at arm’s length, while Greer was strong-willed, independent, and determined to handle things her own way. The dynamic between Greer and Sloane, excellent, with just the right mix of tension and chemistry that kept me hooked.
It definitely leans into a slow burn, but one that’s full of depth and emotion. Every moment between them built toward something meaningful, and that plot twist! Wow, did not see that coming!
Overall, this story was such an enjoyable read, filled with emotion, tension, and just the right amount of magic and mystery.
Salt and Honey completely pulled me in from the very first chapter. The world building was rich and cinematic, creating an atmosphere that felt immersive and alive.
The characters were an instant favorite. Sloane is the grumpy and determined FMC who will do anything to protect Greer, while Greer is fiery, independent, and refuses to be told what to do. Their dynamic was equal parts tension and tenderness, which made the story impossible to step away from.
The spice was perfectly written, never overdone and always meaningful. The plot twist near the end left me audibly gasping and leaving me with goosebumps.
A beautifully crafted story filled with atmosphere, emotion, and edge, Salt and Honey is the ideal read for spooky season. I highly recommend adding it to your TBR!
Greer comes home to inherit her magical aunt's home. She knew her aunt was a witch and her mother disavowed every part of it. So she is the last of the line. Unfortunately, she doesn't know that a curse has been put on her whole line.
She works for her best friend and her sister at the local magical shop - at least she thought they were friends. The sister on the other hand - Sloane is the one that sticks by her to the end.
The curse is coming - Sloane sticks by Greer like super glue - although she is very passive aggressive to Greer. Turns out she has loved Greer for a very long time and has always known that there was a curse - and ultimately will save her.
I give this book five stars - I truly enjoyed it and would continue to read the series.
What a sweet book! I love Greer and Sloane’s relationship and how they come together. It’s such a fun book to read with fun twists and turns. The paranormal/ witch/demon aspects were amazing and beautifully woven together. Watching Greer dive head first into her feelings about Sloane was so sweet, best friend’s big sister trope. ❤️❤️ I have to say Sloane was/is my favorite character I adore the way she is protective and feisty. She is beautifully honest and unbelievably loyal. This book keeps you pulled in the second you start reading. I couldn’t put it down and can’t wait for my friends to read it.
Greer returns home to Salem after her aunt’s death and has to contend with a curse on her bloodline as All Hallows Eve approaches and the veil gets thinner. Greer has to fight the curse and find herself at the same time all while opening up to her best friend’s sister. This book has similar vibes to Practical Magic and even mentions it as a beloved tradition between Greer and her aunt. It is perfect for the October season with witches and demons and good vs evil. It’s also not very long and doesn’t get bogged down by too much melodrama or too much filler. I received an advance reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
With 2 FMCs (1 a brooding silent type, the other soft and outspoken ) this story reels you in with magic. ✨ Salem is the setting with witches… what more could you want? This is a slow burn love story with magic and demons. Sloan and Greer work together to solve the mystery of Greer’s family curse and save her bloodline. I think this book was well written and kept me engaged. I wanted to know what happened next. The surprise twist at the end was very unexpected and I loved it! Overall this book was a good quick read with fall vibes.
This is absolutely the perfect fall read. I cannot even begin to describe how absolutely hooked into this book I was. The characters and story felt alive. The writing has to be some of the best writing I've ever read. The depth, the description of the characters, the plot, everything was so unbelievably well done. THE TWIST?!?? I usually spot a plot twist from miles away, but this one had me SHOOK. At no point did I see that coming, and it was so well done too. I cannot recommend this book enough. Everything was done so well. immediately top 10 of my favorite books.
Salt and honey by K.M. Woods caught my attention right away being set in the town of Salem (where I got engaged) and having true witchcraft mixed in! It was the perfect fall romance including our fiery and stubborn fmc Greer and her “burnt cinnamon roll” love interest Sloane. Watching the tension between them turn into tenderness in this slow burn was everything! On top of being magical, spicy (🌶️ 🌶️🌶️), & everything I wanted from I witchy romance, the twist at the end left reeling!
This book is steeped in the history and atmosphere of Salem, MA, with a strong focus on ancestral magic. As a practicing witch myself, I was impressed by how accurate and intentional the depictions of magical practices were—particularly the use of herbs and ritual elements. The story beautifully intertwines themes of betrayal and the discovery of love in the most unexpected places. It’s a compelling read for anyone who enjoys a blend of authentic witchcraft, history, and emotional depth.
**I was gifted an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest feedback**
Witchy, fall vibes GALORE. Author K.M. Woods has done an INCREDIBLE job transporting readers directly into October in Salem, Massachusetts. Seriously, the way they described everything had me thinking I was actually smelling dried herbs and feeling ancient magic stir around me ✨
A very fun read, spice was well written, and the twist was a shock! Plus we love a good sapphic witchy love story! If you're looking for a book to get you into the holiday (Halloween) spirit, this is the one!!!
I loved the FMC she seemed so real and relatable! I really liked the lore and details that went into the “witch/spell/hex parts” it was a perfect read for October! Also there were a few scenes that had me on the edge and I could not or the book down because I had to see what happened! Very good.
First I want to say thank you to KM Woods for my lovely copy!! The cover and sprayed edges i absolutely loved! This book stated off soooky season for me. All the witchy, sapphic vibes. Definitely recommend 😎
This was salty and sweet just like the title suggests. Our two FMCs are unique and interesting, jumping right off the page. For a shorter story, there is still slow burn and found family as well as sizzling chemistry. I really enjoyed this one!
If you love witches and a setting based in Salem, you will enjoy this book! Fair warning there is SOME spice. Overall, the spice didn't take away from the plot which I highly enjoyed. The book is more based around the adventures and challenges Greer and her friends face with some levels of spice and romance thrown in. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a good fast paced read!!
