I love all things Charlotte Mae, and this does not disappoint! Jamie Reid is a rookie firefighter in Redbud Ridge. Mason Stevens is the Fire Chief. When they first meet at the firehouse, it seems like they met before. Jamie remembers kissing a boy ten years ago under the stars, and thinks it's Mason. Mason remembers the same thing, and has thought about it over the years; but never knew the girls name. Grandma Gladys tries to play matchmaker between Jamie and Mason, does she succeed? For the Fireman's Ball, Mason is the host, and of course Jamie is appointed as cohost; the air between them crackles!! Love the plot, great setting, and strong intense interesting characters. I look forward to reading more from Ms. Charlotte Mae!!!
Absolutely loved this book. From the small town atmosphere to the way the town pulled together to save their heroes! Each character carried their unique personalities and charm wonderfully. Keeping me intrigued as to what would happen next, what secrets would be revealed. Loved Grandma Gladys. She ruled they roost. She was wise, king and determined. Of course the two main characters kept my interest from page to page. Always hoping they would throw cares away and run into each other’s arms. But the way you kept the reader guessing was perfect. A great read! Loved it.
Wonderful story that really reflects a small town pulling together to defend its own. Jamie and Mason had a moment with a kiss years ago. Now their attraction can lead to trouble with the City Council. I love the glimpses into what a firefighter can face. Gladys is a real hoot of a Grandma, love her character. I received this book from the author and this is my voluntary, honest review.
I loved SECOND CHANCES & GRUMPY! There are wonderful characters, there are no “too stupid to live” episodes (although Mason pushed it once), and there is a lively HEA plot that makes sense. Very entertaining! I reviewed a free Advance Reader Copy of this book with no strings attached.
