a very immersive tale that bought the period to life, you can tell it has been thoroughly researched. i really enjoyed the midwifery aspect of the book and the perils this must’ve presented in the 17th century
an amazing first book from the artist John Goodison. a tale set in 16th century Holland with lots of adventure and masses of historical detail. great character creation. a real page turner.
