I feel as if I have OD’d on love emotions! What a feeling!

Annie Wiest has shared a very special place, story and love in this book. I was mesmerized right off the bat. The characters are fully developed, the setting is intimate yet wide open and the chemistry she has brought together is just delightful. It has been years since I was last in the mountains of the Midwest, yet the memories are flooding back. The beauty of the setting fills my heart with happiness and longing that is intensified by this incredible story. Read it to enjoy the beauty it contains, savor the flavors that are developed and then share with your friends.

romance, ranch and soul food
Annie Wiest and her Sacred Peaks-series has become my new go-to for low angst, soulful sapphic novellas. I love how she includes nature, horses and a sprinkle of native American background in each book. It‘s such a gread comfort read.
In #2 of the series we have two „misfits“: Lily who had to give up her high-flying IT job due to anxiety, and who brings into the story yoga and mindfulness. Kemi from Louisiana, rejected by her „orthodox“ high cuisine chef, brings wonderful soulfood inspired by her grandma‘s recipes — add mindfulness to the food and it‘s inspiring. The romance develops organically and is lovely.
LOL: This ranch will soon be a lesbian epicenter. I am already looking forward to the next book.
BTW: I am a mindful, comfort food foodie/cook myself and Annie Wiest really „gets it“. Kudos!

A decent book that could be better

The premise of the Stirring Her Soul was interesting, but the book could have used some more story building and more to the relationship between Kemi and Lily. There also wasn't a whole lot to the plot of the book, making it a bit anticlimactic, but about par with what I'd expect for a 120 page romance book.
This book is the second in a series of stand alone books about the same mountain ranch retreat, but I think it would have been better if the books had been combined into one, with each separate storyline divided as parts throughout the book.

3 stars. This was cute just like book one but again this book was nothing amazing. The stories just feel so bare boned to me and underdeveloped. This was sweet but empty feeling. Lily and Kemi were lovely characters and their romance was adorable and this was a quick read but yeah nothing memorable.
