romance, ranch and soul food
Annie Wiest and her Sacred Peaks-series has become my new go-to for low angst, soulful sapphic novellas. I love how she includes nature, horses and a sprinkle of native American background in each book. It‘s such a gread comfort read.
In #2 of the series we have two „misfits“: Lily who had to give up her high-flying IT job due to anxiety, and who brings into the story yoga and mindfulness. Kemi from Louisiana, rejected by her „orthodox“ high cuisine chef, brings wonderful soulfood inspired by her grandma‘s recipes — add mindfulness to the food and it‘s inspiring. The romance develops organically and is lovely.
LOL: This ranch will soon be a lesbian epicenter. I am already looking forward to the next book.
BTW: I am a mindful, comfort food foodie/cook myself and Annie Wiest really „gets it“. Kudos!
