After a Tinder date gone wrong, Red finds herself on stage being auctioned to the highest bidder. To make matters worse, her new owner is a crazed maniac. Or is it maniacs? Between his flip-flopping moods and brutality, Red is told her life is about to change. Play the games, or spend life on her back with her legs spread.
The games? A series of tests and training to turn her into the one thing that goes against her morals. To become a killer for hire.
But what happens when she realizes her captor doesn’t have a personality disorder like she thought? Now, instead of one psychopath, she’s dealing with three. Deranged triplets who have no regrets and want one thing. For her to obey their every command.
Alpha, the oldest and leader of their family. Bravo, the middle brother with a taste for forbidden flesh. Charlie, the youngest who refuses to speak to anyone but his brothers.
Can Red survive and adapt to her new role? Or will she become a new package in Bravo’s freezer?
Making A Weapon is Book 1 in the Deranged Trilogy. It is a pitch black unconventional romance between Red and the triplets. Please check the trigger warnings (60+) at the beginning of the book. This trilogy is for the mature readers of the 18+ variety. This is not a guide for what a healthy relationship entails and is a work of fiction! YOUR MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS!
Ginger comes from the forgotten Canadian province Newfoundland. Not only is Ginger a single mother to a beautiful little girl, she is also a cat mom. She is an avid reader. Ranging from dark romance, sci-fi, fantasy and horror. Basically, as long as there is smut, Ginger will read it.
This story is brutally dark and pulls no punches. A young woman with a pampered, loving life, perfect hair, polished nails, and a soft, girly world steps into a blind date and is violently ripped into a nightmare, waking naked in a filthy cage among other girls, treated like livestock and marked for sale on the black market. What follows is a descent into a depraved underground sex ring so vile and traumatic that you should not turn a single page unless you are fully prepared for the horrors within. Enter Alpha, a masked triplet hunting for one girl to satisfy the twisted darkness of his brothers, Bravo and the unforgettable Charlie. Characters who are so unsettling and magnetic that they had me obsessed from the beginning. When Red, her new name in this hell, is purchased by Alpha, the breaking is supposed to begin… but Red is no victim. Defiant, dangerous, and unwilling to surrender, she plots survival and escape if escape is even possible.
making a weapon is the first book in the deranged trilogy by Ginger. WHAT A RIDE!!! it is crazy in the best and worst way. I'm sorry but chapter 14 broke me in so many ways. Red is going through so much in that first book but I rode it with her all the way through. cannot wait for book 2 to come next month. 😭🤣😱🤮 so many emotions all at once!
This may be the most pitch black book I've ever read. The jury is still out on that one, but it's definitely lodged itself into the top three. That said, I still loved this book and I cannot wait to devour the rest of the trilogy. Ginger takes us on a wild, disturbing, chaotic and at times disgusting ride, with MaW. There were definitely moments when I needed to put the book down to collect my thoughts and take a breather.
Our triplet MMC's are the extremely disturbed product of horrific abuse at the hands of the ones who should have loved them, and it shows. Molded into depraved killers, they are the most unhinged men I've read, yet. But our FMC Red, though she comes from a cushioned world of privilege and pampering, is no weak damsel in distress, either. Taken on the night of a blind date gone horribly wrong, she gets thrust into a world of sëx trafficking and morally bankrupt people who don't care if she lives or dies. Placed in a cage for sale to the highest bidder, enter Alpha, masked and on the hunt for something, someone, he and his brothers can mold to their needs. And thus begins the push and pull as our boys try to bend and break Red, who has no plans of submitting and is determined to make her escape.
What follows is a messy, bloody, cruel, gross and graphic story. While the men depicted in this tale are devoid of compassion, are abusive, controlling and twisted, they would burn the world for Red. And they've got big plans for her. Will she get away? Will they break her into submission and mold her into the weapon they need? If you enjoy pitch black tales with...
♂️ Morally Bankrupt & Reprehensible Men 3️⃣ Triplet MMC's ❌ Taboo Sexual Situations 🩸 Extreme Gore + Graphic Physical Torture 🧠 Severe Psychological Torture 😵💫 Mind Control 😵 Unãliving 🚫 Non-Con + Dub-Con 🫣 Graphic Scenes of Sexual Torture
... and a whole lot more questionable stuff, then you're definitely as deranged as I am and you'll enjoy this horrific little book just as much as I did. Obviously there's some really dark, f*+¢ed up content here. These are not men you should ever dream about or wish for in your life. This is purely for entertainment purposes and should not be read until you've thoroughly gone over the trigger warning and content lists with a fine toothed comb. This book is NOT for everyone and your mental health and well-being are vastly more important than ANY book. While I definitely want you to read and love this book, I also want you mentally well and safe. And so does Ginger, so please do not go into this lightly and without reading those lists. That all said, if you are sure this book won't traumatize you by reading it, go now and snag yourself a copy, and be prepared to fall under the brothers hypnotic, effed up, mind bending and controlling spell. This book made me feel things. I want to comfort these tortured and hurt men, even though they'd want to kill me for it. I want them to feel the love they so desperately want, even if they will never admit they do. I want to protect Red, I want to be with her, going through this with her so she doesn't feel SO alone. I want to mother all these characters because my heart broke for all 4 of them, more than once. Yes, there's messed up stuff going on here, but if you have an empathetic heart like me, you'll look for the beauty Ginger wrote into this, right alongside the horrific situations she presents. There's so much more going on here, in my opinion, than just torture to shock you with. There's an emotional undercurrent that hooks you in and makes you somehow care for these three deplorable men and the woman they've stolen. I hope you will find and feel it like I did.
Now, to the best part of any review, the ratings. The things you're gonna skim this, or any review, for before you dig into the meat of it (did you see what I did there? IYKYK 🤭). This was a messed up story with extreme physical violence, torture, bloodshed and únalīving, so I'll be awarding MaW a very gorey and dripping with blood 6 outta 5 🩸's, and that's the very first time I've rated anything above 5 outta 5, on any of my scales. So yea, it's a gore fest, in my opinion. Next, the psychological and mental abuse, torment and control are VERY real and intense here, so I'll be awarding MaW 5 outta 5 🧠's. As for the spice, it's spicing, for sure. At times hot as hell, and at others, uncomfortable to read, for me. But always very well written and delivered, so definitely worth a very spicy 5 outta 5 🌶️'s, in my not so humble opinion. Overall, Making A Weapon was a wild, well written tale about screwed up human beings just trying to survive the personal hells within which they've been forced to live, be it by life long abuse and mistreatment or via kidnapping from every creature comfort and the perfect life they've always known. And for that I leave MaW with 5 outta 5 ⭐'s.
I genuinely hope you'll give this book a chance. And if you do, please come back and tell me what you thought!
Pitch-Black, Unhinged, and Addictive ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 ⚠️ Check trigger warnings before reading. This is NOT a light dark romance. Making a Weapon by Ginger Moonwitch is a pitch-black romance that leans hard into erotic horror, and I couldn’t put it down.I fully intended to read “just one more page”… which turned into one more chapter… which turned into finishing the entire book in one night because I had to know what happened next.
This story is deeply disturbing, wildly addictive, and completely unapologetic about what it is. this book is about control, psychological destruction, and transformation. The triplets—Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie—kidnap the FMC and systematically break her mind, reshaping her into their ideal weapon: a killer no one will see coming until it’s far too late. This is not romance in the traditional sense; it leans heavily into erotic horror, and it doesn’t flinch. in this first installment of the trilogy. The FMC (renamed Red) is only beginning to understand her captors and the world they’re dragging her into. There is a plot, there is tension, and the book ends on a killer cliffhanger that left me desperate for Book 2. I need to know: does Red get her revenge? Does she surrender and become their assassin? Or something even darker? Now, let’s talk about the triplets—because they are unhinged in the best (worst?) way: Alpha cross-stitches… and not the cute, decorative kind. Bravo is a cannibal, including a hilariously disturbing scene where he cooks stew for Red using human meat. Somehow, he ends up being the tension breaker, and I found him weirdly entertaining. Charlie is arguably the most “normal” one—which says a lot—yet he casually participates in birth control tampering. Did the incest throw me off at first? Absolutely. Did I… get used to it? Against my better judgment, yes. When everything in a book is this unhinged, it somehow becomes part of the chaos.
SPOILERS AHEAD:::::::!!!!!!! ::::: S P O I L E R !!! ⚠️ WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD ⚠️ if you love: psychological thrillers graphic, descriptive sex scenes deeply unhinged characters dark, disturbing action and stories that push every boundary imaginable …then this might be your next obsession. If you read this, good luck—and enjoy the ride. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 This story begins with a woman living a pampered, loving life—until she’s violently ripped into the filthy underbelly of the world. What starts as a blind date turns into a nightmare when she wakes up naked in a cage, surrounded by other girls, treated like livestock and marked for sale on the black market. What follows is a descent into a depraved underground sex ring so vile and traumatic that you should not turn a single page unless you are fully prepared for the horrors within. The MMCs are not morally gray antiheroes. They are fully depraved, each shaped by horrific abuse at the hands of their parents—physical, mental, and emotional. Forced to grow up fast, forced to kill or be killed, the triplets survive only to be further molded by their uncle into mercenaries and hitmen. Alpha—masked and hunting for the perfect girl to satisfy the twisted darkness of his brothers—purchases Red, intending to break her completely. But Red is no passive victim. She is defiant, dangerous, and plotting survival from the moment the breaking begins… if escape is even possible. The characters are unsettling yet magnetic, and I was obsessed from the very first chapter.
This isn’t a dark book, for sure. This is a pitch-black book, without a doubt.
I love dark books, so I thought about stepping out of my comfort zone and venturing on this ride. And what a rough one it was. If you’re in the same situation, don’t take the TW list lightly. Check it first so you’re not caught by surprise and know exactly what awaits you — a hell of a trip.
We have a why choose where the MMCs are triplets, and they definitely live up to their reputation, making it their trademark. No sorries. No apologies. Just unconventional and unredeemable. Just WOW.
Sometimes they even fooled me into thinking, “Okay, now you’re going to realize how bad this is.” I was wrong. Completely fooled. By all three of them. They even managed to surprise me by surpassing themselves in their cruelty.
It’s such a heavy story that I often found myself upset with the FMC for thinking she was giving in. I thought she was a girl with strong willpower and spirit, but what we often forget is that it’s easy to judge when we’re only observing a situation. We all have our weaknesses and vulnerabilities. And when the intention is to break us, those weaknesses will be found — and used against us.
Did I like the story? I don’t know. So… did I not like it? I DON’T KNOW!!! I’m still processing everything.
It’s such a heavy and raw read that it really gets to you. One of those stories that leaves you speechless and outraged by what happened.
What I do know is that I’ll read the next one, even after that WTF cliffhanger — although maybe I should call my therapist first… or get one. LOL.
Please review the disclaimer first so if you’re continuing to read my review and if you choose to read this book, you should be ready for some insane sh!t. This is a pitch black romance, but it really leans towards erotic horror. Because the triplets are basically kidnap the fmc and break her mind. But honestly I just love such unhinged books, with crazy characters. Did the incest throw me off? Most definitely but dare I saw I got used to it in the book? Because the amount of unhinged stuff that happens int his book is insane, like there’s a very descriptive scene of Bravo cooking stew for the fmc using human meat, and it’s narrated in the most hilarious way, so I really found Bravo to be the tension breaker in this book. It is more character driven than plot driven, as in this first book in the trilogy, the fmc is just starting to get to know her captors and fall into their world. There is a plot and some tension, and it ends with a pretty killer cliffhanger. Our fmc, is not in the right headspace more than half the time so there’s no saying whether I truly like her or not.. however I would love to continuing seeing her character arc progress. The triplets are all unhinged. Alpha like cross stitching, and not just cross stitching on linens to make pretty pictures. Bravo is a cannibal, and Charlie is arguably the most normal but also participates in birth control tampering. So yeah.. I really enjoyed this, but it’s not for everyone. If you read this, good luck and enjoy the ride. I give it a 5/5
Do not expect morally grey around here, it’s black at the pits of Hell. Have your therapist on speed dial. I’m giving 4 stars. I could make an argument for 3 or 5 depending on what matters most to you. I love how the author wrote. You could read and feel Red’s brain shutting down and going on the fritz, if felt like I was there watching and even feeling it. I like how their thoughts were written within the story but almost felt like they were thoughts written in the margin. I love that. It gave you an insight into how all their minds worked My biggest cons are the lack of backstory to help us know why the triples turned out like they did, individually. We know they had a traumatic childhood but I want to know how each FMC developed the…. Quirks(?) they each have. I also want to know more about Red. Why did one form of torture work more than the others, for example. With that being said, I feel this book was geared towards weaponizing Red and evoking emotion from us readers and it did just that for me. I’m not sure how to explain that emotion but it was there. I am very excited for the next book. I hope that Red’s spark doesn’t go away but grows into whoever she ends up as (weapon or not).

Buckle up! You’re about to go on a wild ride with this one. Check your trigger warnings for real because this is not for the faintly hearted. This book is dark and twisted, and it’s going to take you into a world you may not be prepared for. Red, so pretty pretty red. The dainty cute girl with everything in order. Nails painted, hair done, clothes immaculate. Shouldn’t have gone on that tinder date…she gets taken, finds herself stripped mashed and in a cage with other women waiting to be auctioned. She walks that block and is sold to Alpha. He intends to break her and use her as a weapon. No more cutesy life for her. But she soon realizes that this psycho isn’t just one guy. He’s three. Triplets. Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie. They are going to make her a weapon. The twists and turns in this were wild. There was no thinking you knew what was going to happen next. Clueless the entire time. So just sit back and enjoy the ride. This book is nasty, it’s going to test your sanity, and it might make you cringe. I was so engrossed in this one. There might be something wrong with me, I’m not sure lol but I really liked it. I seriously cannot wait for the next one. Thx so much for letting me be a part of your ARC team😈
About the book: Making a Weapon is Book 1 of the ‘Deranged Trilogy’ series and leaves us waiting for Book 2 & 3.
This book is a stunning example of Stockholm syndrome with the FMC and 3 MMCs. You can’t help but love to hate the Triplets and cheer on the FMC.
The depravity and unapologetic MMCs fit the Pitch Black genre beautifully. They’re fucked up with no redeeming features but learn to “love” the FMC.
This is a true pitch black book, having said that I would whole heartedly recommend it to any taboo, pitch black Dark Romance lover. I cannot wait for books 2 & 3.
Omg where do I even begin!! Making a weapon is not for the faint of heart that is for sure. Make sure you always read your trigger warnings especially this one!!
The book is based off triplets and a woman named Red. Red is the FMC and she goes on a tinder date and she is supposed to be headed home with her date, but never makes it. She is taken to an auction house and auctioned off and is purchased by the triplets. They are making her to a weapon for them and much more. We have Alpha, Brave and Charlie that all look the exact same but their habits are very different. My favorite character I would say right now is probably Charlie. They all are very unhinged but f*** if that doesn’t make them even more irresistible. Ginger what have you done to us!! I hate that I have to wait for book 2!!
Making A Weapon (Deranged Trilogy #1) Ginger Moonwitch
‼️Check Trigger Warnings‼️ ⚠️⚠️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶🌶🌶
Wow! When I say check your triggers, I mean it—the level of unhinged depravity in this book is absolutely delicious, but it’s definitely not for the faint of heart. This book explodes into action from the very beginning and doesn't let up until the end.
Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie are a deadly team of triplet assassins, identical in looks but each with their own quirks. Red, a badass in her own right, never makes it home after a Tinder date; she’s kidnapped and taken to an auction house where the triplets buy her.
Together, they plan to shape Red into both a human weapon and someone who will please them in every way.
This took me on an absolute pitch black rollercoaster ride.
The faces I pulled from some of the things these MMC’s did can never be seen in public.
The depravity these triplets put the FMC through and the fact that they have no redeemable features and I absolutely loved it, just shows how good of a pitch black book this really is.
The FMC’s sass throughout is absolute perfection.
I loved every second of it, even the ones that made me pull disgusted faces.
Sensational. Can’t wait for books 2 & 3!

This was my first read by Ginger and I was not disappointed!! She brings her own unique twist to a style and a level of darkness I'm already a big fan of (think Alina May but again, Ginger's unique story etc). Making A Weapon is completely pitch black, occasionally funny, occasionally gross and kept me turning pages to see what happened next. The triplets are completely unhinged, Red becomes theirs in every way. I can't wait for the rest of this series!! Safe to say I'm a huge Ginger fan after this one! I was given a copy of Making A Weapon in exchange for my honest opinion and review. Thank you so much, Ginger. This was a perfect read for me!
Pitch black dark and seriously messed up but when you start this book your can’t put it down. How messed up what they do to her! Red(FMC) is been kidnapped, sold, and now train to become an assassin!!! The things these triplets do to her are so messed up. Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie all look the same because what there mother did to one they swore they would always look alike!
*Just one more page, which turned into one more chapter... which turned into finishing the entire book in one night because I had to know what happened next.* What do you do to us Gingermoon!!!
I wanted to try something different from the same stories I always read. Although I do love a good dark romance, it can get monotonous after a while. The story here is not born from love. There is only ownership and the deep need to be in control of absolutely everything. It is not for the faint of heart, if you clutch those pearls, you might want to throw those away before entering this domain. The characters are brutal, insane, and down right twisted. The writing is very well done, creating vivid sets and is sure to make you feel all sorts of things you may not be prepared for. Definitely not for early dark romance readers. This is expert level, so enter at your own risk.
So where to start?! Umm this is dark, and I mean really DARK! Pitch black! There is nothing sweet or loving or any kind of hope in this book. Did I still love this? Oh yes, yes I did. Al, B and C are so beond unhinged brothers. Psycopaths really more than anything. Do I wanna know more about them? Oh yes, yes I really do! Do I need to know how far Red is willing to go? Well yes, I really need to! So I kinda need the second book right now!
Alpha, Bravo and Charlie are unhinged but so dang adorable. I can’t help but to love them.
The story shows a deep delve into the depraved but the characters, when learning of their background… make sense as to why they are so unhinged. I don’t blame them!
Red… red is exactly as her name entitles. A strong little spitfire with some rage to be tamed.
ARC REVIEW: I enjoyed this book! It got right into the story right off the bat which got me hooked right away. Loved the characters, plot was good too. I also really enjoyed how short the chapters were. It made me keep saying ‘only one more chapter’ and next thing I knew, the book was done lol Excited to read the next book and see what happens next!
Holy. Cow. I will start with. Make sure you read your triggers.
Making a weapon is a dark romance, boarder line brutal dark. You meet the triplets, dark, deranged, and magnetic. Alpha, Bravo and Charlie. They drew me in immediately. Our FMC, Red, was ripped from her pampered life and thrown into hell. Bought to please the triplets, Red is stubborn, defiant, but dangerous.
I cannot wait to see what Ginger gives us in book two.
Holy! This is a pitch black BDSM twisty ride! Dare I say that the MMCs, Alpha Bravo and Charlie have my heart? But Red, she was so amazingly strong and defiant. This story is very brutal and traumatic so I beg you to read the triggers prior to falling down the depths of hell. I cannot wait for the next 2 books.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Well, that was deep and dark. Please make sure you read the trigger warnings before diving in! ⚠️ Red is traumatized by the boys: Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie. They break her and rebuild her in their mold, to be their weapon. This book is dark, completely unhinged, and unapologetically delicious 😋. I can't wait to see what comes in the next book!
Wow! Just Wow!! This book was dark, brilliant and so good. I read it in one second because I just couldn’t put it down. When Red is captured she’s immediately thrown into a violent psychological setting with the one goal of making her into the perfect weapon. The triplets: Alpha, Bravo and Charlie do not hold back. They are twisted, depraved and constantly make you question your own sanity. But I just couldn’t help myself I loved every moment. I can’t wait for book 2!
This book was so unhinged. I didn’t know what I was walking into with that but I wasn’t mad at it. Please be sure to read your trigger warning before diving into this book. Can’t wait to see where this journey goes in the next installment
Throughout the book I was mortified, cringing, cheering Reds will power and sass. This book is DARK and not for the faint of heart at all. Be prepared. They triplets take training her to the absolute extreme.
This book was not exactly what I expected but it was a wild ride. Please read the trigger warnings if you have any. The prologue even started off spicy so keep that in mind. I cannot imagine it’s for everyone but it was for me. I cannot wait until the next one
whoa this book was a wild ride for sure please read all the trigger warnings before reading Red really proved herself she didn't let herself be a victim she took control at any means necessary and alfa is a wild 🤯 😳 one this book was a crazy ride I enjoyed every page you a great job
This book was dark and depraved and amazing! It’s one where you definitely want to make sure you’re ok with the things included but it’s one you won’t want to put down.
I wasn't super into it at first but it got better, the second half of the book is much faster paced than the first. im definitely excited to see where this goes.
This author amazes me with her outside box thinking. .This books Has BIG ⚠️TRIGGERS⚠️ in it so be aware. Three twins brothers who are apparently are off their rockers. Buys an Innocent smart girl who is at the wrong place at the wrong time and torture her, brain wash her , and use her like a rag doll to prepare her to be an assassin. She knows that there is no escape they have cameras everywhere and there is always eyes watching he every move. The end lives ya Like WTF but Ginger better be almost done with Book 2 I need to know if Red ( the kidnapped girl ) Gets her revenge or she surrenders to them and becomes their assassin or MORE.
