Forging a Weapon

Rate this book
Days turn into weeks, and weeks into months. As time goes on, Red learns to adapt to her new life. Between playing the games and pleasing her Sirs, life seems simple. With routine comes safety, and with safety comes codependency. Red can survive the dangers she knows.

Until it’s time to put her skills to the test. Until the unknown of being thrown back into society as a murderer is staring her in the face. The triplets are determined to see how much Red has actually learned. The question is whether she is cut out for the assassin’s life, or just good at spreading her legs.

Though with the triplets changing, she is afraid of disappointing them. Red will do anything to prove that she can be what they need. But training in a basement differs from killing out in the real world.

Can Red settle into the new challenges before her, or will she become Bravo’s meal prep?

Forging A Weapon is Book 2 in the Deranged Trilogy and must be read in order. It is a pitch black unconventional romance between Red and the triplets. Please check the trigger warnings (60+) at the beginning of the book. This trilogy is for the mature readers of the 18+ variety. I was thankfully gifted an ARC copy of this and slammed straight into it after book 1.

Book 2 flashes around the same flair for the deranged as book 1. The plot keeps the fast pace and shows a clear realistic evolution of character's and their emotions.

Book 1 was incredibly dark, and I'm pleased to say book 2 does not get any lighter. Throughout both books, the twisted tone has been consistent.

Ginger doesn't pull punches!!!!! They smack you in the face with the force of a freight train.

Book 3 can't come soon enough!

Forging A Weapon by Ginger Moonwitch is an unhinged, intoxicating descent into darkness that proves the Deranged Trilogy only gets more brutal from here. Nine months after Book 1, we find Red calmly painting her nails, an eerie, almost domestic image that clashes violently with the blood on her hands. She’s been “gifted” more comforts now: a nail kit, a hairbrush, makeup are twisted rewards for a girl still caged in a basement, though no longer confined to her cell. Since we last saw her, she’s claimed two more lives. Charlie, Bravo, and Alpha continue molding her into the weapon and whore. They intend her to be, stripping away humanity piece by piece. This sequel is far darker, more disturbing, and somehow even more addictive than the first. I devoured my ARC in a single breathless sitting, equal parts horrified and obsessed, questioning my own sanity for loving something so wickedly wrong. I wouldn’t change a single word. But be warned: this is not for the faint of heart. Please check the trigger warnings, because this story does not pull its punches.

Read the content warnings in earnest. Then read them again. This book is not for everyone. It is 💯 pitch black. Trigger warnings do not bother me and yet there are chapters in this book that had me gripping the book! It is a bumpy road. The story, the premise, the plot will have you glued to the page.
You will hold Red close to your heart hoping she perseveres but Ginger does not make it easy. She will have you wondering if the triplets will finally break her.
In Book One I said my favorite triplet was Charlie but this one I am steering toward Alpha. He is a conundrum and I can’t quite figure him out. It seems like he cares for Red but he is still the biggest asshat by the end of book 2. His bizarre punishments towards Red go above and way beyond anything I have ever read before. And yet, I wonder!
So, this work of perfection… perfect for me, has Red still held captive by the triplets. They have given her a bit of freedom but their mental and physical torture has made it almost impossible for her to leave the “safety” of the basement. The bizarre way they have successfully deconstructed the old Red and turn her morals upside down that she is successful in being an assassin is so easy to believe. Ginger has written this in such a way that it seems believable.
Five star read from the first chapter. Listen if you can make it to chapter 2 you and I have to be friends. This book is not for everyone! This is only for mature readers. Absolutely not for beginner Dark Romance readers.

OMG!!! Ginger Moonwitch has done it again with Forging A Weapon Book 2 of the Deranged Trilogy!! This book had me laughing. This book had me question if I have something wrong with me for loving it so much!!

Book 2 starts off 9 months later from where Book 1 left off with Red doing her nails. She has finally been gifting more items since the last time we saw her! She now has a kit to do her nails, a brush for her hair, makeup, and more. Since we left Red in Book 1 she has made 2 more kills. Red is still in the basement but she now has free range of it and is no longer locked in her cell. Charlie, Bravo and Alpha still treat Red like the whore and weapon they are training her to be. Book 2 is much darker than the first but I could not put it done!! I just received my ARC yesterday and already finished. I could not put it down! I’m ready for the next book when it is ready!! I would change nothing about this book at all!! I will say this though this book is not for the weak stomach people!! Check the trigger warnings!!

Okay, firstly thank you for letting me ARC read book two! I absolutely loved book one, and omg this book did. Not. Disappoint. 5/5⭐️ and trust me, there’s plenty of 🌶️. If you liked book one then READ THIS ONE too!!

We are back with Red and the boys, and omg. Once I started reading this book I could NOT put it down, I loved every single minute. Will forever hold these characters in my heart, and I NEED book 3!!! Ahhhh.

Red as you knew her, had been trained into being theirs. She’s been forged into a weapon of their making, but as it’s time for her first time on the field….can she handle it? Or will she be a disobedient pet and fail? Or worse….escape them?

The way this book holds me in a chokehold, omg Ginger you did it again! I freaking love it, and I feel honored that you chose me to be one of the peeps to read this as an ARC.❤️ Now I’m just going to have to find a way to waste time until book three comes out….

What a mind-blowing read. I honestly couldn’t stop reading.
It's almost like witnessing a crushing event and not being able to stop watching.

Can I say that the situation improved from the first to the second book? Define "improved." It's not about the book itself, but about the people in the story.
Remember, it's not a dark story, it's a pitch black one. They are extremely disturbing people that do very disturbing things. Don't underestimate the TW.

It's amazing how our MMCs still manage to surprise me with their actions and creativity. They weren't born evil, nobody is, but what they had to go through shaped them. You can see why they are the way they are, but it's hard to accept.
I keep waiting for the moment when they come to their senses and see what they're doing to our FMC and somehow try to redeem themselves. Oh, by the way, give my address to Santa Claus - LOL.

With that ending, I'm eager to find out what awaits us in the next book.

Another top tier book by Ginger!! Forging a Weapon picks up a few months after Making a Weapon and follows the triplets, Alpha, Bravo and Charlie as they continue to train and prepare Red to be their perfect weapon. The triplets are entirely unhinged and this story comes with a shopping list of trigger warnings so please be mindful of that!
I LOVE that Red has maintained her fire and spark through everything the men have thrust upon her. I'm even more hooked now after book 2 than I thought possible!
Ginger's writing style is sheer perfection, for me. Like a delicious mashup of Alina May and Sybil Knight but with her own unique flair and gift. I simply cannot WAIT for book 3!

Well, book 2 did not disappoint!

The triplets are just as unhinged / depraved as book 1 and I’m loving it! Bravo is disgustingly unhinged😂 the eating is so feral but I kind of love him?

I love that Red / Delta still has her fire. The middle finger in the lift was brilliant.

I’ve absolutely loved both this and the first book of the series. Cannot wait to read the last one!!

This series is getting better and better as it progresses. Red brings her fierce beautiful fight into book 2. Which takes place a few months from where book 1 ended. The triplets, Charlie, Alpha and Bravo still treat her the same deranged way. And dare I say it's actually darker than the first book!? I could not put this book down at all. Please read your trigger warnings and I cannot wait to see what Ginger brings for the 3rd book!

As always, an absolutely amazing book. Red exceeds herself in this. And the triplets are wild. I love how their characters were created and the way each of them plays into them so well. This book is dark and deranged but oh so good. I laughed, I cringed a little, but overall I couldn’t get enough. I am so thankful that I’ve gotten to be an ARC reader for this tasty books.

Second book in the trilogy, and just as wild as the first one. There is one scene that had me going “oh f…” and I gasped but it was great. Lots of violence and graphic gore, lots of sмцт, lots of taboo but in my opinion a lot calmer than book one. Great read. Charlie is still my favorite.

Alpha. Bravo. Charlie. Red ❤️ The craycray squad but I can’t help but to love them anyway.

📍PLEASE CHECK THE TRIGGERS BEFORE READING. Your mental health matters! 📍

If you thought book on was a doozy… book two drank too much coffee and sky-rocketed to oblivion…. In a good way!

Red has cracked, but while The Triplets broke her, they also started molding her into a better (and more deranged, ha! See what I did there?) version of who she used to be.

Struggling to find where she belongs in this world the Triplets have plunged her into, we get a little crazy down the proverbial “stabby murder-hole” and the ending just leaves you gasping & then demanding to know where book 3 is.

But a fantastic read start to finish!

Ginger Moonwitch has truly outdone herself with Forging a Weapon, the second installment in the Deranged Trilogy. Picking up nine months after the gripping conclusion of the first book, the story follows Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie as they continue their ruthless mission to mold Red into their version of a perfect weapon. While Red is no longer confined to a cell and has been granted small luxuries like a nail kit and hairbrush, the environment remains incredibly dark. It is fascinating to see her maintain her internal fire and spark despite the triplets' unhinged treatment of her, and after two more kills, her evolution is undeniable.
The writing style is impressive, offering a dark and intense fusion that feels uniquely Ginger’s. The narrative is punctuated by strangely captivating moments—from the focus on crystals and cake to the shocking scene involving the toes—that make the story impossible to put down. While I often found myself wishing Red could receive even a small moment of genuine kindness or a simple compliment, the grit of the story is what makes it so addictive.
Please be advised that this novel is significantly darker than the first and is certainly not for those with a weak stomach. The story comes with an extensive list of trigger warnings, including kidnapping, psychological and physical abuse, non-consensual themes, and graphic violence. I strongly urge all readers to review these warnings and prioritize their mental well-being before diving into this intense read.

Please note that I have reviewed book one, so if you’ve yet to read it check out that one first to avoid any minor spoilers. Also I’ll stress it again, this book is PITCH BLACK UNCONVENTIONAL ROMANCE, and includes 60+ triggers including but definitely not limited to cannibalism, torture, ince$t and psychological manipulation. Also the Stockholm syndrome is huge in this book, the entirety of this book is just Stockholm syndrome and I LOVED IT! If you’re looking for an extremely depraved and downright disgusting book (in the best way) this is for you. Because yes the entire book is either them fvcking her physically or fvcking with her mind. All three brothers are absolutely mental but I love the contrast between them and the uniqueness of all the characters. The guys are mostly the same. Alpha is the oldest and has the most possessive and dangerous personality, he’s also the one to admit that he doesn’t think of her as a “disposable wh0r3” last. Now Bravo is the crazy cannibal one and Charlie is the cuter one who gives her crystals as rewards for getting through the harsh “training” but also loves to tie her up and fvck her. However, Red has changed a lot from the first book, she has been officially manipulated after 12 months but when she gets doubts… well that doesn’t end well for her. This book was a wild ride and it ended on a pretty intense cliffhanger. I’m so excited for the last book in this trilogy and see how Red ends up! I give this a 4.5/5

This series makes me question whether or not I’m a depraved, psychotic human. 😅 The way I’ve binged the first 2 books makes me wonder if I’m mentally healthy.

It’s so good though in the worst ways. Every part of my review of the first book still stands and you should definitely take the list of triggers very seriously - more so than you would with the average dark romance book. Any trigger mentioned is possibly the most extreme version you could think up when it comes to those triggers.

Book 2 gave me hope for our girl in the strangest of ways. Let me be clear - She’s absolutely permanently messed up, altered and has serious Stockholm Syndrome going on but she seems like she has found ways to cope with her new existence and has started embracing her life rather than wallowing in the pain, fear and suffering. That doesn’t negate that almost all of what happens is disturbing and vile because it definitely is.

If you focus on the fact that she’s surviving though and pretend (if possible 😬) that she’s a willing participant in the situation, the fact that she’s starting to change the brothers little by little begins to tug at your heartstrings (assuming those of us reading this crazy story have hearts 😅). This sucked me in right away and I didn’t want to stop reading until I was finished so now I’m back to anxiously awaiting Book 3.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (6/5 – yes, SIX out of five!)

Forging a Weapon picks up a few months after Making a Weapon and follows the triplets—Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie—as they continue training and preparing Red to become their perfect weapon. The men are completely unhinged, feral in the best (and worst) ways, and this book comes with a full shopping list of trigger warnings—please, please check them before diving in. Most of the triggers were part of my personal checklist, but everyone has different limits, so be aware of yours.

Book one was incredibly dark, and I’m both thrilled and slightly terrified to say book two does not get any lighter. The twisted tone that Ginger established in the first book remains completely consistent. If anything, this installment goes even harder. Ginger doesn’t pull punches—they hit you like a freight train.

I’m even more hooked after book two than I thought possible. And that ending?! When Red said, “thank you, masters,” my jaw was on the floor. I seriously cannot wait for her revenge arc in the next book.

This was a 10/10 for me—actually, a 6 out of 5. If you’re into dark, unhinged, high-spice romance with consistent tone, intense psychological elements, and morally black characters, this series delivers. Just make sure you read all the trigger warnings before you start.

I cannot wait for book three. 👌🏻😈

Forging a Weapon takes the darkness of book one and cranks it up even further. Picking up months later, Red is still trapped with Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie, though the small comforts she’s been given create an eerie contrast to the brutal reality of her captivity. Watching her transformation into the weapon they are trying to forge is both disturbing and fascinating, especially as her strength and inner fire refuse to fully disappear. The dynamic between the triplets is chaotic and unhinged, and each brother brings a different kind of danger to Red’s world. Ginger has a way of writing that makes the psychological manipulation and twisted relationships feel disturbingly believable. I flew through the book insanely fast because I simply couldn’t look away from the madness unfolding on the page. This story is incredibly dark and absolutely not for everyone, but if you love pitch black romance that pushes boundaries, this is the one.

Forging a Weapon is the second book in the Deranged Trilogy. If you haven't read Making a Weapon yet what are you waiting for? This is the continuation of our unapologetically crazed, brutal, pitch black Sirs molding Red into the perfect assassin and toy. Red has come a long way and is starting to get missions and more rewards. I love that with everything she has been through she still holds onto a little bit of her fire. She chooses her moments to fight back and she is coming into her own. There is one interaction that she has with Sir B (IYKYK). All I can say is... OMG! I enjoyed seeing the dynamics between Sir Al, Sir B, and Sir C start to change now that she is gaining more confidence and experience. Sir Al is still an uptight, bossy, jerkface. I started liking Sir B more in this book despite his unusual tastes. And Charlie is definitely my favorite. This book was just as unhinged, dark, and amazing as the first. The ending was something else! I can't wait to read Sharpening a Weapon! This book is pitch black and has several pages of warnings so make sure you read them before diving in.

🌶🌶🌶🌶

Book 2 in the Deranged Trilogy kicks off with Red giving herself bold red stiletto nails. It’s about nine months after the end of book one, and a lot has shifted in her relationship with her “Sirs.” They now give her gifts as rewards, though everything remains dark, twisted, and incredibly spicy.

Red has been transformed into one of them so completely that Alpha has even given her the name Delta. If you’re looking for something wildly depraved in the best way possible, this book delivers.

Alpha, Beta, and Charlie may be triplets, but each has a unique quality that shapes a different connection with Red/Delta. Even after a year with them, she’s still conflicted about the way they treat her from one moment to the next.

"Forging A Weapon" releases on February 23, 2026, and it’s a must-read.

This installment to the series was just as beautifully deranged as the first. It’s just as dark and twisted as book 1, which is exactly what I wanted from this book. This story honestly is like a fist to the face that will have you saying thank you for the pleasure. This book is darker than the first one. Which I didn’t entirely believe possible. But here it is. And I loved every single page of it. Red is still a strong bada** of an FMC. She has more privileges and freedom now. But she’s still Charlie, Alpha, and Bravo’s little who*e. She still had the fight and heat to her from book 1 and it makes me appreciate her character even more. Especially now that she has a name. I cannot wait to see what she, and the triplets, do in the next book. Oh and that ending line…absolute utter perfection!! This series got me locked in like Red in her basement. I must have the next book now! Please!!

Ginger Moonwitch, you have done it again with Book 2; I laughed, gasped, gagged and questioned my morals just like I did with book 1. This book was dark though maybe not as dark as book 1 however I LOVE the path you have put Alpha, Bravo, Charlie and Delta/Red on and I CANNOT wait for book 3. The things that Red has overcome at the hands of her Sirs is has forged her into the weapon that they were hoping she would be but has she changed her Sirs as well? This book gets very graphic so if you have a weak stomach or any triggers you will want to keep away from this one but if your unhinged like me you will eat this up.

GAAAAAAH I loved this book even more than the first one. I love watching how the characters are developing not only individually but in their messed up relationship. I also, oddly enough, love seeing Red break for the triplets. I was questioning myself on some of things she was asking herself because I couldn't remember some things before the boys either. I DO NOT condone this behavior at all but goodness, it makes for an incredible story.

OH and lets not forget about that incredible ending, I almost cried and it was the perfect bridge to the third book which I CANNOT WAIT for! This trilogy has my heart and soul at this point. BRAVO :P
