This was my first book by Luna Lovelace, and I liked the setup—a broody firefighter and his cheerful next-door neighbor make for a cozy, heartwarming read. The romance felt believable and developed at a good pace, with plenty of humor mixed in. I did find some formatting issues distracting; the paragraph spacing and text layout could use polishing. It pulled me out of the story here and there, which was a shame because the plot itself is really enjoyable. With better formatting, this would have been an easy five-star read.

I just wish we would have gotten to know the characters a little better. For the length of the book, I think we could have gotten more in depth with them and their relationship. Their banter was fun, I just wish we would have gotten more of it. Everything felt like it was rushed, skipping interesting and maybe crucial parts of the story. Overall, it was a fun read. Great job.
Isla has had a tough up bringing and is a little bit hmmm flake. One thing for sure is a great baker. Logan is firefighter who is grumpy due to his own family but loves his job and takes is seriously. When these two meet it is not sweet but with time a thoughts can change. Being neighbours helps the sparks fly.
Humour, chemistry and a great love story.
