OUTER BANKS meets THE RAVEN BOYS in an all-new contemporary series by the author of The Royal Three Trilogy.

What would you do for family?

Lauren Hastings hasn’t been home in over a decade. Whisked away by her mother as a child, Lauren hasn’t set foot in Silver, the small town she was born in, and the only true home she’s ever known, since. But now she has returned, eager to leave a troubled past behind, and reconnect with her roots. And her estranged family.

But Silver isn’t the fairy tale she remembers. It’s darker, grittier; and so are those who live there. Gabriel, her wild, black-eyed stepbrother, isn’t the prince charming she once knew. And Dane, her childhood best friend, the boy she only ever dreamed of being reunited with, is no longer an innocent little boy, but a handsome young man who may just steal her heart a second time.

As Lauren is pulled into their world of dark secrets, bitter rivalry, and fast cars, she will soon realize she has a choice to make: Love, or loyalty.

Navigating Loyalty and Love in Benét Stoen's Silver Street!

Benét Stoen's Silver Street is a gripping exploration of homecoming, identity, and the destructive power of secrets, using the crucible of romantic and familial conflict to expose the novel’s central thematic question: what is the true price of loyalty? By positioning the protagonist, Lauren Hastings, at the intersection of a dark, forgotten hometown, an estranged stepbrother (Gabriel), and a conflicted childhood love (Dane), Stoen constructs a compelling narrative where the pursuit of happiness is consistently at odds with the demands of fidelity, demonstrating that true belonging requires confronting, rather than escaping, bitter realities.

The town of Silver itself acts as the primary antagonist, a physical representation of the darkness Lauren had been whisked away from as a child. Lauren’s idealized memory of Silver contrasts sharply with the "darker, grittier" reality she returns to, setting the stage for the novel’s internal and external conflicts. This environment of "dark secrets, bitter rivalry, and fast cars" is the toxic context in which all relationships must survive or perish. For Lauren, reconnecting with her roots is not a nostalgic exercise, but a mandatory descent into a world defined by the very loyalties—or rivalries—she ran from. The tension in the setting validates the extreme choices facing the heroine.

The rivalry between Gabriel and Dane is the engine of the plot, creating a dynamic triangle that forces Lauren’s hand in matters of the heart and kin. Gabriel, the "wild, black-eyed stepbrother," represents a dark, immediate familial obligation and perhaps a volatile form of belonging tied to her family’s secrets. His presence is a call for loyalty to blood, even if that blood runs with darkness. Conversely, Dane, the rediscovered "childhood best friend," embodies a pure, hopeful love that offers a potential path to a happier future. He represents the possibility of choosing love over history. The constant friction between these two figures is not merely romantic, but existential, as each man represents a different way of life and a different claim on Lauren’s soul.
Ultimately, the novel is driven by Lauren's realization that she cannot have both love and loyalty in their traditional forms. The final, stark choice—Love, or loyalty—is a tragic dilemma that underpins the New Adult genre’s focus on difficult transitions into adulthood. To choose Dane is to choose personal fulfillment and potentially betray the familial secrets and obligations represented by Gabriel and the town. To choose loyalty is to sacrifice her chance at independent happiness. Stoen masterfully uses this intense character drama to argue that genuine loyalty must be earned, not inherited, and that self-love and moral integrity are prerequisites for either a stable family or a lasting romantic connection.

In conclusion, Silver Street transforms a familiar homecoming tale into a high-stakes dramatic inquiry. Benét Stoen uses the three-way conflict between Lauren, Dane, and Gabriel—set against the backdrop of a town steeped in secrets—to demonstrate that breaking free from a painful past is impossible without first understanding and choosing which bonds are worth fighting for.

The writing is phenomenal, poetic and captivating!

Thankyou for an advanced readers' copy of this.

Picture a story that blends Outer Banks with Fast & Furious, and you'll have this book.

When Lauren Hastings returns to her childhood hometown of Silver, Iowa, to move in with her stepbrother, she discovers that this place has a darker underside than she'd realized, but she also reconnects with a childhood best friend and finds herself drawn to the family he's crafted for himself, a friend group that would do anything to protect each other. Maybe, for this girl who's never felt like she's belonged anywhere, she'll find belonging in this little unit.

This book completely drew me in. Stoen has such a knack for writing setting and sensory details, crafting descriptions that are steeped in memories and make the reader feel deeply immersed in the story. You'll feel the adrenaline of street racing, the taste of chocolate cake, the sticky summer air on your skin, and the electric hum of illicit parties.

This book is reminsicing on childhood, following old train tracks in the woods, making dinner and grocery shopping and falling asleep on the couch with friends, finding belonging and untangling the past, and exploring a small town with darkness lurking on the edges.

Also, I LOVED the side characters in this, especially Octavia and Dayton! They have me so intrigued, both on their own and as a relationship. The way they're always together, even when racing, the way she's just casually wearing his clothes, the way he paints her nails, like they're so casually intimate and intertwined in each other's lives? And this quote makes me insane: "He didn't believe Dayton would let anything happen to Octavia—he'd only let himself happen to her."

I do wish we'd gotten to know all these characters a little bit deeper, especially Lauren, but part of that is them intentionally keeping parts of their past hidden, and I know as the series goes on, we'll get to know them better.

If a book that blends found family, childhood friends to strangers to lovers, and street racing sounds like your jam, you need to pick this up. Silver Street comes out November 18 and is available for preorder on Amazon now.

Thank you to Benét Stoen for the arc and for giving me a new story to obsess over. I cannot wait to see where these characters go next ❤️

Silver Street is a small-town street-racing romance that pulled me in quickly and kept me engaged from start to finish. Even though I’m not usually drawn to racing stories, the book was easy to follow and enjoyable, thanks to the vivid scenery and strong character work. The cast felt well-rounded, and the main female lead, Lauren, stood out. As a survivor, she was written with depth and realism that made experiences both painful and powerful to read. At times, I found myself incredibly angry at what she endured, which speaks to how effectively Stoen captured her story and made me feel the weight of her circumstances.

The pacing was fast, which made the book easy to finish in one sitting, and the racing backdrop added a fun, energetic layer even for someone like me who doesn’t fully understand street-racing. That said, there were moments that frustrated me. The emotional intensity of Lauren’s storyline was difficult for me personally to handle, even though it was well-written. Additionally, the conflict between Dane and Gabriel was drawn out longer than I would have liked. Their disagreement added tension, but I found myself wishing the reason behind it had been revealed earlier rather than left hanging.

Overall, Silver Street is a compelling romance that balances grit, resilience, and action. It’s a story with strong characters and an engaging setting, accessible to readers who aren’t racing enthusiasts. While some parts were emotionally tough and bit drawn out, the strengths of the writing outweighed those frustrations. I’d recommend it to readers who enjoy a romance with depth, emotional intensity, and a unique backdrop.

this book is so atmospheric and CUTE but also tense and a bit dark, and I just love it soo muchhh.

the fmc Lauren is so soft and genuine. she’s quite broken but because of her past she’s so grateful for any little morsel of affection, and it just hits me in the feels. the mmc (her love interest) Dane has a shadow side, but he’s always striving to be the best version of himself and he would do anything for Lauren and his friends. their relationship is perfect.

Dane’s friend group is one of the best found families I’ve ever read (and it’s my fave trope hehe). they’ve all had rough pasts, but they complete each other and make each other better people.

and then THE VILLAIN, my beloved Gabriel. he’s so awful, I love it. every time he’s on the page, I’m STRESSED about what he’s gonna do. the way he’s described is so eerie, I feel like he’s a real person. he’s Lauren’s step-brother who she only knew for a short time when she was a kid, because their parents didn’t stay together long. so he evokes a sense of nostalgia for her, but he’s not the same boy she thought she knew. now he’s dark and unpredictable and willing to hurt anyone to get what he wants…except her, because she’s what he wants haha.

the street racing aspect added a thrilling sort of tension to the book as well, and the whole vibe was just so unique but still felt familiar and nostalgic somehow.

I’m so excited to read the next books in the series about Dane’s friends! Dayton really grew on me in this book, and I want to know more about his backstory, along with Adam’s and Octavia’s.

This was an okay read, I didn’t love it but I also didn’t hate it. There seems to be a formatting issue since a lot of sentences stop and continue on the line below which was a bit annoying since I lost my place a couple times while reading and it is written in third person POV which I don’t love but it won’t cause me to DNF books. I didn’t find myself really connecting with any of the characters and they seemed a bit surface level, I don’t feel as if we learned what makes them tick. It struck me as odd that she returned to Silver in the first place. She remembers almost no one and nothing, throughout the entire book we hear about how she doesn’t remember or only remembers as people point things out to her, it almost seemed like she was supposed to have amnesia? And from the sound of it she wasn’t in silver for long originally and hadn’t spoken to her stepbrother or stepfather since she’d left over a decade ago and they just let her back into their home? Maybe it’s because I didn’t connect deeply with her but it just didn’t make sense to me. The characters felt a bit juvenile to me, like their conversations kind of went in circles without getting anywhere and it took almost the entire book before the characters even kissed. I didn’t feel a lot of progression until the last 20% of the book. The street racing was also a big part of the book but the main characters like the MMC don’t even race? The villain does but otherwise the side characters are active participants which kind of feels pointless.

the book was paced just right, i couldn’t keep the book down for long. i always wanted more from the story. as someone who can visualize the scenes of a book, the descriptions were spot on where i could see the hurt and all the love.

the fmc is a soft spoken girl who wants to fit in and feel loved. the mmc is a boy who has absolutely loved her since the beginning but is her step-brothers ex-friend/rival.

i loved how the fmc easily fit into the mmc group of friends / found family. all of them have each others back and i absolutely adored that. the characters all kind of gave touch her and die vibes (love that). there’s also street racing (albeit I wanted more of that tbh), there’s drama and tensionnnn.

the step-brother is a hot mess and you can just tell by the way he has been described as wearing a “wife beater” shirt that he will be the bad guy who just clearly also wants all of the fmc attention and love but has grown up to be super dark since they last grew up together as kids. the step-brother was honestly just creepy and pushing boundaries from the start tbh. only thing i wanted more of was a backstory on how the step-brother got to be the way he is because we learned about mmc’s past but not the step-brothers. unhinged fr!!

i loved the side characters, Adam and Dayton!! they’re honestly the best parts of the book, mostly Adam he’s a sweetheart.

thank you for the eARC Benet Stoen!

Silver Street is one of those haunting, atmospheric small-town stories that sinks into you slowly and refuses to let go. Benét Stoen delivers a quiet, emotional, beautifully raw narrative about coming home, facing old wounds, and rediscovering the people who shaped you.

Lauren Hastings hasn’t been back to Silver in over a decade, and stepping into her childhood town feels like walking into a memory that’s been twisted by time. The town is darker, colder, and heavier than she remembers—and so are the boys she once loved in different ways.

Gabriel, her wild, black-eyed stepbrother, is no longer the soft presence from her childhood. He’s intense, sharp-edged, and radiates the kind of danger that makes you instinctively lean closer even when you shouldn’t.

And Dane… oh, Dane. Her childhood best friend, once gentle and innocent, is now a man with quiet strength and a heart that still beats for her in all the ways she used to dream about. Their reunion is tender, bittersweet, and packed with so much unspoken longing that you feel it in your chest.

The Author really captures small-town darkness, complicated family dynamics, and slow-burn emotional intimacy with such precision that every page feels heavy with atmosphere. The tension—both romantic and familial—is rich, subtle, and gripping. It’s a story about broken roots, rediscovered love, and the complicated ties that pull us back home whether we’re ready or not.

And the street Racing aspect to it is just *chefs kiss*

𝐒𝐢𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐭 is a return to hometown, street racing romance by Benét Stoen full of secrets, lies, dangerous rivalries, fast cars, and indelible friendships. Lauren Hastings just can’t catch a break. She wants to flee home for a fresh start after many years away with fresh bruises on her face, turning to her estranged stepbrother for help, but Gabriel has changed, and his dark and mysterious edge is just the start of all the changes in Silver. Thankfully, she also reconnects with Dane, her former best friend-turned full-grown hottie.😉 The book was entertaining from start to finish. I immediately found myself rooting for Lauren, while being on alert with Gabriel just with the creepy physical description of him. As a fan of the Fast & Furious franchise, I was all-in for the racing scenes, as well as the emphasis on found family. The action, the dark emotional twists, and the burgeoning romance fighting to grow through it all was woven together well. The heart of the book, though, was Dane’s friend group, that Lauren eventually joined. They all have such complex personalities, and yet they are an amazing unit! I hope to see more from them in the future!

I received an ARC for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.

Benet Stoen just keeps proving why she sits firmly on my auto-buy shelf. Her writing is so poetic and intentional… every line layered with emotion, every moment carrying weight. Every character has purpose, every detail matters. Stoen writes with a level of empathy that makes you connect to the characters almost instantly. I found myself feeling with them, not just for them.

Silver Street is a found family, friends-to-lovers romance with full Fast and the Furious vibes, and she delivers it with the kind of emotional depth and intentional writing she’s known for. It’s cinematic, gritty, and still somehow intimate, with one of my top book villains of the entire year. Stoen’s storytelling never feels cookie-cutter or predictable, and this book is the perfect reminder of why I’ll pick up anything she puts her name on.

I haven’t read a small town romance in like forever and when I got the opportunity to read the ARC of Silver Street I immediately thought to myself why not?

And it didn’t disappoint! Th book was so good! Lauren and Dane’s story was just so heartwarming and sweet, I never wanted it to end. The pacing was perfect with just the right amount of action and slow deep moment between the characters. Speaking of action, I looooved the racing parts in the book! The adrenaline, the rush that the characters were feeling was palpable on the pages😍
The side characters were fleshed out so well too! Dayton, Adam and Octavia were such a great addition to the story and made the found family aspect stand out even more.
Lauren’s story is just heartbreaking and to see her find shelter and love within the group was everything 😍

I highly highly recommend Silver Street because it will make your heart burst with its beautiful story🥹

Silver Street is an amazing book. I devoured it in just a few short days. The found family vibes are top notch. The romance built naturally and wasn’t rushed. There were some dark and gritty parts but it just made me love the story more because it made it feel more like real life. I’m looking forward to the sequel and will definitely be ordering my own copy of Silver Street ASAP.

yesterday 𝐒𝐢𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐛𝐲 Benet Stoen finally came out in the world, and ready for you to read!
I had the chance to read it in advance, and a big thank you to the author for that.

Read if you love the found family trope, if you loved The Raven Boys, and if you love a little bit of danger in your life, like I don’t know, maybe street racing ?

I read this in two days, I did not want to put it down, but life got in the way. If I could, I think I would have read this in a few hours.
I loved all of the characters. Yes, all of them. What can I say, I’m a sucker for a bad boy !
