Every village needs a witch. Unfortunately, there are never quite enough witches to go around.
Enter Maple Marie a classically trained Good Witch, who’s just been assigned to her very first village. As the resident witch, Maple is ready to serve, protect, and oh-so-politely correct any mishap, magical or otherwise. But Greenvale is no ordinary village, and the job of Village Witch may be more taxing than she anticipated.
And then there’s Reed Ahlgren. Good-natured, handsome, and always ready to lend a hand, the intrepid woodsman finds himself unexpectedly falling for the new witch in town. How will he even get Maple to notice while she manages multiple spells, multiple local personalities, and multiple hat-based mishaps?
As Maple works to find her place in Greenvale, one question Can a witch without a proper hat truly keep a village, and her own heart, in good working order?
I might be biased on this one. This book falls into my favorite category. Cozy, low-stakes, spicy romance. Not to mention Cait Alvarez is another Texas indie author! I was sold before I got started. This was a wonderful afternoon read. It’s been raining all week in San Antonio, so I curled up with a pot of tea, a blanket, and the pup one afternoon and devoured this book. I’ll be starting Spellcraft and Snails soon and I have a feeling this will be a series I revisit anytime I have the blues.
I was surprised by how spicy it was. (Personally, I love spicy books. But if you don’t, be warned. I was not expecting it.)
There is no actual millinery in this book. But as a real-life milliner, I was incredibly amused by the townsfolk thinking she couldn’t be a witch without a black pointy hat.
