Magic is more than bloodline—it's destiny.

Lucero "Luz" Molina thought her biggest challenge was surviving medical school. But when a chance encounter with the country's prince thrusts her into a world of royalty—secrets, and something far older than the crown itself reveal themselves to the world.

Drawn into a palace brimming with resentment and lurking troubles, Luz discovers a hidden power awakening inside her—one that has the potential to save a kingdom. As ancient forces stir and danger closes in, she must decide if she is ready to embrace a magic long forgotten.

Royalty, romance, and modern-day magic collide in this spellbinding tale of fate, family, and the power we fear most—our own.

Twin Flames is a delightful modern day story that has magic weaved into it. I. For one wasn't sure what to think about it before I started reading but in the end it ended up being a story I enjoyed very much! The setting was so much fun and the characters were delightful. The imagery of the scenes was very well detailed.

Our main character Luz is just trying to find her way through medical school which proves to be a big challenge. However, one day she has the chance to cross paths with Prince Roland and she is thrust into a whole new and excitng world. But this new world brings in a lot of responsibility and will Luz have what it takes to survive?

I love magical realism and this book had such an interesting magic system! I loved the creativity of the world building.

I also love soul mates in romance so I loved the concept of twin flames,

I liked the parallel between Luz's family and the royal family. I found all of the dynamics really interesting and entertaining.

This definitely has something for everyone, it has romance, fantasy, and mystery, I definitely recommend!

This is such a great read and I'm looking forward to the next book!

“I’ll wait however long you need me to if it means you want to love me as much as I love you.”

Thank you to the author for the ARC of her debut novel Twin Flames! The story takes place in the modern world, in a kingdom called Odacia. Centered around Luz and Prince Roland we learn more about other magical creatures and the magic system within the world. We jump into their contract marriage rather quickly. This presents a struggle for Luz going from a family that openly shows affection and communicates frequently, to a more estranged family dynamic with the Dracons. Luz notices her witch powers become more prevalent when she’s around Roland, specifically visions of a grimoire. When the grimoire goes missing, Luz and Roland set out to uncover who took it and what they plan to use it for. What I really enjoyed about this story were the connections to Latin American “brujeria” elements throughout, as well as other things like tarot cards being tied into the foretelling of this love story. There is no spice but that doesn’t take away from the attraction Luz and Roland feel for one another. The ending also has a found family moment which I was rooting for the whole time! I can’t wait to read what happens next.

A fun mix of modern life, royalty, and magic! Luz Molina is such a relatable main character. She’s smart, stubborn, and easy to root for. What starts as a normal life for a med student, quickly turns into something much bigger. I loved watching her world open up once she crossed paths with Prince Roland. The story weaves fantasy and romance with bits of Latin-inspired magic that make it stand out.

The palace setting, hidden powers, and family tension all come together so well. By the end, it will leave you completely invested in Luz’s journey and the world Kay Garza built.

If you like fantasy with heart, strong heroines, and slow-burn romance, this one’s definitely worth picking up.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with this one. A fantasy set in a modern world is sometimes lost on me, but I really liked it. It has a little bit of something for every reader; romance, suspense, fantasy, thriller and action. I can’t wait for book two and more romance from Prince Roland and Luz!!

Thank you Kay for allowing me to arc read, this is my honest review.
