A haunted house is hard to flip—unless you’re Sam and Haley.
He’s a golden-hearted contractor. She’s a deadpan realtor with a gift for seeing ghosts. Together, they flip America’s most possessed properties.
In this funny paranormal short story collection, Sam and Haley tackle six fixer-uppers with serious supernatural baggage:
In a 1980s Tudor revival, a flying set of keys kicks off an unexpected meet-cute
A 1920s mansion hides something deeply wrong in a mirror
Spiders aren’t the worst thing in this 1840s cabin—a ghost keeps using Haley as a time-share
Gremlins have taken over an 1880s Queen Anne Victorian, and they are not house-trained
A 1970s ranch still echoes with the heartbreak of its resident rockstar Sam’s late grandmother is still calling the shots from beyond in a 1901 farmhouse
Each house needs more than just a coat of paint—they need an intervention or maybe an exorcism.
If you love ghost stories with humor, heart, and a lot of chaos, Haunted House Flippers delivers.
Perfect for fans of What We Do in the Shadows, Ghosts, and cozy paranormal comedies that make you laugh out loud.
Tour the houses. Meet the spirits. And maybe fall a little in love with the weird along the way.
I’m K.L. Brooks, and I write paranormal fantasy grounded in the present—with ghosts, chaos, and just a touch of romance. 💞 My stories are cinematic, fast-paced, and comedy-forward, full of characters making bad decisions (or watching others make them) in the most entertaining ways.
I love finding the humor in the bleak, bizarre, and all-too-human moments we’d sometimes rather ignore. If we don’t laugh, we cry—and I prefer to laugh.
My short story collection Haunted House Flippers is spooky, weird, and funny as hell—and there’s more to come. Follow me here on Goodreads to keep up with all my haunted adventures!
This was a quick fun read and great for the start of spooky season. It was more comedy than spooky which was great because I have a lot of other spooky scary stories on my TBR.
Sam and Haley were funny together and they fit well. The ghosts/creatures were funny I liked the gremlins and Nana she was sassy.

This is a collection of sit-com style short stories revolving around haunted house flippers Haley and Sam. Think: Scooby Doo. It was a quick, silly fun Halloween read.
This is hilarious! Think an HGTV house flipping show but with paranormal entities hosted by a clairvoyant and her goofy husband.
I love how this was written, where it’s described like those house flipping shows. It’s done very well! I enjoyed the humor and the romantic subplot between the MCs Sam and Haley. I’m just sad it was short 😭
I hope KL writes more of these types of novellas later! Very entertaining!
I'm ABSOLUTELY biased, but I hope y'all readers will give Haunted House Flippers a chance! This short story collection is filled with humor and haunts with a dash of sweet romance. If you're looking for a light read for the season or not in season (I won't judge!), this book is it. 💝
These short stories are presented as a Reality TV show with 10 episodes. The dialogue is okay and the characters are simple but fun. However, the activity in the stories has a lot to be desired. Some of the stories resolve themselves, one story is abandoned early on (abandoning the story is made a part of the story but isn't very satisfying), and the overriding romance goes from the first meeting to marriage of the main characters, leaves that in the background for the most part.
I had hoped for so much more from the tales than what was there. Maybe that affects my review. But I don't like feeling disappointed by the book when I reach the end
A page turning, cosy, light hearted romp of hauntings including ghosts, green witches and house renovations. Thoroughly entertaining with a warm, blossoming romance in between.
Filled with adventure, amicable ghosts, a ghostly dating show, gremlins and a good dash of whimsy haunted house flippers is thoroughly readable. This humorous adventure will warm your heart and delight readers from all generations.
Delightful, charming and totally could be a great audio drama! All the house descriptions were vivid and the commentary is exactly what I wanted from my favorite HGTV show! Plus the ghost hunter meet cutes, such a fun read!
I just wish we had full backstory spin offs because I’d read an entire book about each character in a heart beat!
