Can a graphic designer be a catalyst for positive change? Green Graphic Design reframes the way designers can think about the work they create, while remaining focused on cost constraints and corporate identity. Simple, eco-innovative changes are demonstrated in all phases of the design process,
· Picking projects · Strategizing with clients · Choosing materials for manufacture and shipping · Understanding users · Picking ink and paper for printing · Binding · Packing final products · Building strong brands · Working with clients to foster transparency and corporate social responsibility
Fully illustrated and packed with case studies of green design implementation, this reference guide more than inspires; a "sustainability scorecard" and a complete glossary of key terms and resources ensure that anyone in the design field can implement practical green solutions. Green Graphic Design is an indispensable resource for graphic designers ready to look to the future of their business and the environment.
BagUS sih Bgus, banyak insight yg bisa didapet dr sini, cuma minusnya aga ngomong dr sisi... when we work in a company? sedangkan buwanyak desainer yg kerjanya malah freelancing, atau startup, atau bahkan di art studio. bisa diterapkan? beberapa hal bisa, tapi banyak yg susah krn jangkauan company jauh lebih besar dr art students, freelancers, dll
A serviceable guide to the growing movement of environmentally conscious graphic designers. Spends much of it's time on product design using mostly examples from the author's firm which specializes in working with very large corporations. I'm not entirely certain what audience this is for since it reads like a design primer and covers territory that professional designers will most likely already know, but doesn't offer small scale, simple solutions for students and young designers who won't necessarily be working on the types of projects outlined. The resources at the end will probably be the most useful component for most readers.
Indispensable for designers. Nice work, Brian and Celery! Finally, a fairly comprehensive guide to approach a more sustainable design practice. It's only flaws would be that some of the information is probably already out of date, and I wish the case studies were a larger scale of projects (if only to give us some hope that these practices are happening at the top corporate levels). Maybe there is an accompanying update website in the works?
A really inspiring and inviting read. I learned a lot about green production basics as well as emerging perspectives on the field of graphic design. I was definitely thrilled about the design avocado metaphor, as I've been faced with lots of people who chose to see graphic design as only surface design :(
