What a beautiful and exciting novel. This book had me hooked and I gobbled it up so quickly. While I feel like Sabeen's path to finding herself has just begun, I cannot help but be inspired by her ability to overcome oppressive influences and stand back up after horrifying setbacks. The intersecting characters' journeys were full and intricate, painting a complex picture of the political and social climate.

The writing in The Spiral is so well executed. Fast paced, the exact amount to detail and backdrop, and perfectly timed transitions between the different plot lines.

I can't wait to see what all my favorite characters get up to in book 2!

I am not a big Fantasy reader but I really enjoyed this book. A very impressive first novel. Amazing world building slightly Dickensian in the characters and social commentary. I would recommend this book highly.
