A forced proximity stand-alone from small-town romance author Brooke Montgomery about a heartbroken man who finds himself without a job or place to live and the country girl who owns a goat farm with an open position and spare bedroom…
I've crushed on my brother's best friend since I was twelve. He never gave me a second glance until I was dared to kiss him.
The following summer, we drunkenly hooked up at my brother's wedding. Finding out he had no memory of our night together made it my dirty little secret.
I spent years avoiding him, but then he shows up at my goat farm needing a job and place to live after his fiancée calls off their engagement. Reluctantly, I agree to give him a chance.
But that doesn't mean I have to make it easy on him.
Keeping things strictly platonic between us, I suggest he date again to get over his ex. When he needs a plus-one, I offer to be his wing woman.
After a night of drinking, I stupidly confess the reasons guys keep breaking up with me and he offers to help me instead.
Lines blur when "just roommates" turn into roommates with benefits, but I'm still determined not to let him break my heart a second time.
Even if it seems inevitable.
Perfect for fans of: ✔️ Small town cowboy romance ✔️ Forbidden crushes ✔️ Forced proximity ✔️ Goat yoga & ranch life ✔️ Spicy open-door romances ✔️ All the yearning, tension, & HEA you crave
Take My Love is book #2 in the Willow Branch Mountain interconnected series. Each one ends in a happily-ever-after with a hook into the next one and although you don’t have to read them in order, you’ll get a better reading experience if you do.
Brooke has been writing romance since 2013 under the USA Today Bestselling author retired pen names: Brooke Cumberland and Kennedy Fox, and now: Brooke Montgomery and Brooke Fox. She loves writing small town romance with big families and happily ever afters! She lives in the frozen tundra of Packer Nation with her husband, teenager daughter and pack of dogs. Brooke's addicted to caffeine, cold winter nights, and afternoon naps. She found her passion for telling stories during winter break one year in grad school—and she hasn’t stopped since.
Silas and Posey's book 🤢🤢🤢 he moves on with ow, gets engaged and only goes back to Posey when ow breaks up with him and kicks him out. he also allows everyone to tease and make fun of her for having a crush on him for years and she was humiliated for it. he moved on, fell in love , got engaged and had LOADS of great sex while fmc never moved on, never dated, never hzd feelings for another and only had bad sex. if his fiancé didn't kick his ass out and left him broke he would have NEVER even spared posey a second thought. we go alot of details about his sex life in the 1st book which was fine when we didn't know he was gonna have his own book with ANOTHER WOMAN. but to mention his sex life with his ex fiancé in a book about him and posey, is simply revolting.
also since some arc readers are bitching and lying in their reviews and warning people not to listen to the bad reviews, I'm gonna be even pettier and say LISTEN TO THE DAMN BAD REVIEWS and not the lying arc readers kissing ass. the book is THAT bad.
the 1st book had a yearning loyal celibate MC who deserved the world and while this MC is a piece of shit who deserved to be alone.
Awful and ridiculous, sorry but women must have more pride in life
All this ridiculous thing about not having orgasms because you ruined me for other men but He is perfectly capable of doing it because he’s pierced and his ex too???? This is romantic?
He was engaged and his ex broke the engagement, that is the only reason he even came back Still they have a lot of sex… no grovel no guilt no nothing
All these covers with beautiful people in beautiful scenarios are the worst! I finish always 🙄🙄🙄😳
It's the old and tiresome silly trope that has been done to death already where authors these days can't seem to come up with any original idea so they keep writing the same 💩 over & over again.
Brother's best friend trope with both of them crushing on each other until one drunk induced night they lose their virginity to each other and the next day we have a miscommunication trope where she overhears something and thinks he doesn't remember their night and he assumes his sex performance was so bad that she doesn't want a repeat, so they avoid each other for two years. Then they finally talk it out of what happened and he moves in to kiss her, only to pull back and tell her that he has a GF and "owes it to her to be faithful and see where it goes". Eight years later, he is engaged to yet another OW and begging her to not leave him.
And now homeless and penniless, he hightails it back to FMC who the doormat is ready to welcome back. So all these ARC readers all blasting negative reviewers. I wonder who is lying to whom....Lol.
It’s set on the goat farm portion of the ranch! There is goat yoga! 🐐🐐🐐
Posey: oldest daughter and our goat farm/soap owner I’m down with her occupation. I also enjoyed her personality. Take no sh*t. Not desperate 🙌
Silas: the recent broken engagement hottie Crushing on his best friends sister Second chance vibes (Do not look at those reviews that say ow drama eww, because no, just no, read the dang book) Man is a green flag With a hint of possessive And kinky 🌶️
Forced proximity x roomies OMG the cabin (Marjorie, girl…) Other unique pets City boy x country girl Yearning. The yearning.
OW- there are FIVE other women in this book. How this is considered a romance is beyond me when clearly the MMC doesn't know who or what he wants. The MCs lose their virginity to each other on the night of the FMC's brother's wedding, 8 years ago. There is some miscommunication the day after, which isn't cleared up until two years later. The MMC is with another woman by then so although they clear up the miscommunication they still aren't together or even friends. They spend the next six years not speaking to each other and the MMC gets engaged to someone else entirely. She breaks up with him, he begs her not to by the way, and suddenly he needs a job and a place to stay from none other than the FMC. He does admit he loved the relationship more than his fiance herself, and realized their relationship was toxic, but still. He didn't want the relationship to end so obviously isn't over her magically a few days later. He then is caught flirting and sharing phone numbers, making plans etc with one of the employees at the goat farm right in front of Posey. She threatens to fire him because relationships between coworkers are banned per the employee handbook, so he decides to let it go. While he and Posey are out shopping he meets a cashier that flirts with him and offers him a haircut. They exchange numbers and make plans for a date as well. Then Posey, Silas and his sisters go out to a bar to find Posey and Silas some wedding dates and he meets yet another woman. This one was introduced to him by Posey herself. Wtf? Literally five other women and we are barely 30% into the book, and three of the woman are introduced within a week of his engagement ending. The worst part is Posey admits that she can't keep a boyfriend because she can't finish fast enough, and it's all Silas's fault for "ruining her for other men". He then feels it's his job to fix it. I'd say you can't make this up but clearly you can because this author did. I can't not finish a book, so I kept reading. But having to read about 5 OW made it impossible to get into the main couple's romance story.
I did love their scenes together though once they stopped with dating other people. I wish we got to see some scenes when Silas went through obstacle course that Warren set up. That might have made this book a little better.
Take My Love is the 2nd book in the Willow Branch Mountain series. I didn't think I would enjoy any of the books as much as I loved book one because it has my favorite trope, but I loved Take My Love just as much.
Silas finds himself dumped by his fiancé, left without a place to live or a job. The only person who seems to be able to help him is Posey, his best friend's little sister, whom he has a history with that no one but them knows about. The only problem is Posey strongly dislikes Silas and hasn't talked to him in 8 years. Despite her dislike, she finds herself agreeing to help him.
Posey had a lot of trust issues, and considering Silas was part of why she did, it was beautiful to watch the way they helped one another heal. I loved the way they each accepted the other for who they were. I loved that once Silas realized his feelings for Posey, there was no question that she was his choice.
Overall, this book was great. I was hooked from the beginning and didn't want to put it down. There are plenty of great tropes and a great balance between spice and storyline. This was 4.5 stars for me. I can't wait to see what else Brooke does with this series. Thank you to Brooke for my ARC of Take My Love in exchange for a n honest review. This is a must read.
I have been in a second chance romance KICK. Its been growing on me so much and this definitely made me love it more🥹
After a unforgettable night that leads to some miscommunication, Posey and Silas lose connection for almost 2 years. Life goes on and people change. Silas ends up moving back after his ex fiancé decides she's not happy anymore. Making him homeless and in need of a job. Posey, our goat lovin' girl is absolutely furious with the thought of Silas back in her life... but with a kind heart she opens her home and work to him. But makes his first week hell in exchange 🙂↕️ The rekindling happening between forced proximity, helping eachother find love and late nights at home is so beautiful. The slow burn was so good and then picked up so fast my cheeks were HAWT.
I love the goats and Poseys special friend(s) at home🤭🤣 Made things so different and so funny.
A Brothers Bestfriend trope , I will eat up EVERYTIME. The forbidden love between that and working together just all made sense and match so perfect 😫 When 2 people deny eachother but have always longed for eachother >>>
Some people may disagree with moving on after growing feelings for eachother and then coming back to them, but I find it so real. People arent perfect, especially in books so its nice to know people grow a life outside on another but eventually make their way back 🥹
💗 Second Chance 🫣 Hate to Love 🌄 Small Town 🤭 Brothers Bestfriend 🏡 Roomates with Benefits 🐐 Goat farm workplace
Thank you so much Brooke for this earc for an honest review 🥹
Thank you to Brooke for sending me an ARC of this book.
I was so excited for this one after loving Take my Name. I'm really gutted but this one unfortunately didn't work for me. I loved being back at Willow Branch Mountain, and see Warren and Masie again as well as Landon and Ellie from Sugarland Creek. I also really loved Marjorie and the chaos she caused in the house.
But overall, the relationship between Posey and Silas just felt a little bit forced to me. I just wasn't feeling it at all. Also 'mama' during dirty talk was giving me the ick! I can't explain why, but it really did.
I'm gutted this one didn't go as well for me as the previous one, but regardless, I'm still really excited for Take my Kiss coming out next year.
*Thank you to Brooke Montgomery for providing me with an ARC of this story.
Brooke Montgomery’s newest release continues with following one of the Langston siblings as they find love. With equally great tropes such as, brother’s best friend, forced roommates, small mountain town, spice, lovable characters, and more it’s all you could want in a romance story. Posey and Silas have known each other ever since they were kids, and they may or may not have been some secret feelings they held for each other especially as they were reunited again years later. Brooke wrote this story to illustrate Posey and Silas working through their feelings, as well as discovering the possibilities of their own future too. Again, you literally cannot go wrong with reading a book by Brooke because, she’s gives you so much to love, enjoy, and quite honestly it feels comforting to read her books.
Ever since I read the first book in this series, I have once again become invested in Brooke’s stories. This book really highlighted the different aspects to Posey and Silas’s connection from their one night together years ago to them trying to figure out how to be around one another when Silas comes back into town. For Posey, I could see why she felt anger towards Silas when he came back into town, but with the way things went down years before, it was just a matter of the miscommunication between them. Regardless, I did enjoy seeing Silas trying to work his way into Posey’s good graces especially trying to maintain his new job of working on the goat farm with Posey.
The big takeaway I got from this book was both seeing Posey and Silas get their chance at finally being together, but also discovering the type of love they deserved. Without giving away too much, Silas was previously in a relationship that didn’t serve him in any meaningful way. When it comes to being in a relationship, you want to feel supported, loved, and accepted by your partner which was something that Silas didn’t have previously. Seeing how Posey accepted Silas even before things got serious between them showed how Posey understood him. Posey and Silas together were great, even when it came to Silas helping Posey explore intimacy the way she had always craved. At the end of the day, Posey and Silas were well matched and they made me laugh, smile, and GIRL THE THINGS THEY SAID AND DID MADE ME BLUSH AND MY JAW DROP! WOOOOOO!
Overall, another good story in this series. Plenty of familiar faces from Sugarland Creek appeared in this book which is always nice to see and even meeting new characters who…are going to get a book as well. I say this every time and I will say it again, read Brooke’s books! They are amazing and the epitome of cozy, sweet, spicy, lovable, amazing, and wonderful! You literally get a wide range of stories and characters. Posey and Silas’s story was another story that had me interested and I adored them. With the way this book ended, it safe to say I know whose book will be next and I am so excited to read the next book! Highly recommend reading this book and every book by Brooke Montgomery!

I was allowed to read this book as an ARC, and I read it in one sitting. I couldn't put it down.
Silas and Posey have known each other for years and even spent one night together, but after miscommunicaton and hurt feelings they stop talking to each other. Now Silas needs a palce to live and a job. Posey reluctantly takes him in but is determined not to let him hurt her again.
Both Posey and Silas grow throughout this book, and I love thier banter. I'm glad that everything works out for them in the end becuase they both deserve it after Poeys' exes treat her bad and Silas' ex fiancee treats him bad as well. The two of them fit well together.
"Take My Love" will be available on October 22nd, and I can't wait to see what happens in the next book!
"Findin’ my way back to you has made me feel more alive than I’ve felt in years." - Silas
I mean this book gave me baby goats. Did I need anything else?
Well actually I did, because it also gave me a pierced hero and a delicious second chance! Silas and Posey were so good! I absolutely loved them so much!
✨ Small Town ✨ Set on a Goat Farm ✨Second Chance vibes ✨ Hate to Love ✨ Forced Proximity ✨ Brother’s Best Friend
I love when characters get to make mistakes when they are younger but still get to learn from them and get the HEA they deserve.
Silas and Posey’s story is a bit messy form a one night stand and feelings on both sides that neither really knew how to express, but when these two end up as roommates despite not liking each other.. the tension. THE YEARNING… please give me a man who yearns.
I also just really liked both Posey and Silas as people too, and it really made me love them together!
Ans this one, when these two finally give in, the spice lights up like an inferno! It was spicy and the mouth on this man made me squirm.
I just really am enjoying this series and I highly recommend everyone read it!
Devoured this in one sitting. I was panting like a bitch in heat.
I love a book when he “helps” her out and my god - this one was VERY helpful. Silas, the man that you are. *wipes drool off face*
Posey is a take no shit kind of girl, but she also has a significant praise kink, which makes for a delightful combo. And shout out to Marjorie, the ultimate wing woman.. er, spirit? Who also takes no shit and has a penchant for Golden Girls.
There’s also several fun little surprises in this book - no spoilers from me though. 😏
“Just in case you aren’t sick of hearin’ it yet, you’re my whole world, baby. The love of my life. I’d be nothin’ without you, and I hope I never have to experience being without you again.”
Oh my word I cannot get enough of this series! After 2 books I’m so completely in love and obsessed with Willow Branch Mountain. 💘🥰😍 uhhggg Marjorie is the best side ish character EVER 👻🤭😏
Silas and Posey have been dancing around their feelings for each other for years. Between kisses, firsts, and a few random hookups. They have damn good chemistry. BUT A huge misunderstanding later they don’t speak for years and Posey despises him! And now Silas is broken hearted homeless and jobless. Begging his best friend Warren and his wife for a place to stay and a job. Warren suggests none other than his little sister Posey. 🤣 oh the shenanigans that happen in this book are award worthy! You’ll laugh out loud too many times to keep track! And the slutty thigh tattoos 😮💨🤭 this book has everything to make it a non stop read! So freaking good 💘🖤🌶️🥳🤩
First off, I am in love with the covers so far in this series. Second, I love Silas & Posey. This book was soo cute.
Take My Love follows Silas and Posey. Silas is best friends with Posey’s brother Warren who we met in Take My Name. Well, Posey has always had a huge crush on Silas and after a drunken one night stand at her brother’s wedding, she avoids Silas at all costs because she thought he wouldn't remember it. Silas did end up confessing to Posey that he remembered everything and that the feelings she was feeling that night were mutual but he is now dating someone new and wanted to give it a try.
8 years later, Silas returns home and has a failed engagement. He has no job, no place to stay so what happens when Posey helps him by getting him a job working at her goat farm and offers him to stay with her until he can find a place of his own? Will those same exact feelings from 8 years ago start developing again?
These two and their banter was EVERYTHING. I loved the addition of Majorie and Teddy, I was literally laughing. It was my favorite part of this book. I love Brooke and her writing. I can’t wait to continue this series!
Thank you Brooke Montgomery and team for this eARC! 🙂

I adored this one even more than book one! Posey and Silas’s story hit the perfect balance of sexy and sweet, with plenty of heart and humor. The setting at her family’s ranch (and those hilarious goat yoga scenes!) gave it such a cozy, small town charm, and the cameos from her Sugarland Creek series were a fun bonus. From Silas’s post breakup redemption arc to Posey’s fierce heart, this one had me smiling the whole way through. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Tropes: 🏡 Small Town 🚪 Forced Proximity 💔 Second Chance 👦 Brother’s Best Friend 🛋️ Roommates with Benefits 💼 City Boy x Country Girl
Jumping straight into this review I enjoyed the story and the characters. The back-and-forth between Silas and Posey, connected through one magical night eight years ago, really gave off right person, wrong time vibes. It made me laugh, and I genuinely wanted to see where it went. And I can’t fault the spice it was a great time.
I do want to mention a few things I didn’t connect with, which are more personal preferences. At times, I would laugh which was great, but then it would go over the top and turn into cheesy, cringey moments. What I mean is one joke is funny, but when it keeps getting stacked, you’re like okay, give it a rest. Some of the scenes also felt exaggerated or just a bit too much. She had a pet rat, a spirit causing mayhem in her house, the MMC going to goat yoga shirtless, wearing a cowboy hat and boots, surrounded by panting women who were eating it up. The MMC also happened to have an intimate tattoo and piercings. Also I did not connect with the MMC calling her the pet name mama it just felt out of place. With the over the top jokes, the exaggerated moments, and a few clichés, that’s why this one gets three stars from me.
I will say the audio is brilliant I loved the southern accents. Avery and Stephen did a great job bringing these characters to life.

I loved this book so much. It was sweet that Silas and Posey were both each other's firsts but didn't know it until later on. I liked the scenes of their past that led up to the present day timeline. Aundrea was horrible, enough said. I loved the story about Posey and the dating app guy, it was too funny what she said to him. 😂 The goat yoga scenes were funny Marjorie the ghost 😂 A few of my favorite quotes: “𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙙𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙚 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠. 𝙀𝙫𝙚𝙣 𝙞𝙛 𝙞𝙩 𝙝𝙪𝙧𝙩𝙨 𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙣𝙤𝙬, 𝙞𝙩’𝙡𝙡 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙗𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧.”
Take My Love was a cute small town romance with a second chance with her brother's best friend. I loved the unique setting of a goat farm with goat yoga.
Silas and Posey had a one night stand, but things didn't work out between them due to a miscommunication and timing. Now, Silas is back after his fiancé ended their engagement and he needs a place to live along with a job. He gets a job working for Posey at her goat ranch and she also lets him move in with her even though she has grudge after how things ended between them.
Things definitely heat up between them when he decides to help her with her issues in the bedroom. They start messing around and quickly fall for each other again. Their chemistry was next level hot.
AUDIOBOOK REVIEW 🎤Dual narration by Stephen Dexter & Avery Caris
This was narrated by Stephen Dexter & Avery Caris. They did an amazing job with the banter and chemistry between these characters. I really enjoyed the audio and would recommend.
Thank you to Must Love Audio for providing the ALC.
This was a sweet but spicy brother’s best friend, second chance, forced proximity, roommates in a haunted house, she makes him do shirtless goat yoga romance.
While it is the second book in this series it can be read as a standalone. I haven’t read book 1 which is Take My Name but from the context clues it’s giving Sweet Home Alabama vibes so it’s going on my TBR!
The spice was my favorite part of this book! Not only did Silas have scorchingly hot dirty talk, he likes to talk her through it (made even better by the southern accent) but he was pierced.
This was a vibes book for me. There was a slight forbidden aspect to this book because he worked for her goat soap company and there is a clause in the employee contract where employees can’t date. But it felt unnecessarily dramatic . Her dad owns the company and it’s not like he was going to fire her.
I loved the southern accent Stephen Dexter put on for Silas and Stephanie Kay was absolutely perfect as Posey.

We're back in our favorite small mountain town on the resort and ranch with Posey, the second oldest. Posey has always crushed on Silas, her older brother Warren's best friend. On a date, she kisses him when they're young teens. Later on at a wedding, they hooked up. But then, Poesy overhears him talking to her brother and she knows she needs to forget about him. Years later, he's back after an engagement ending, needing somewhere to live and work. Looks like Posey (and Marjorie and Teddy) have a new roommate.
I'm so privileged to have been able to continue to ARC read for Brooke, an author I truly love reading! Yet again, it's another banger. I appreciate the intricate details, the cinnamon roll, sweet but mouth on them men, and the fiesty and fierce woman that have no problem putting them in their place while simultaneously falling for them. I love the family connections and overlap.
Was this Brooke's spiciest book?? I feel like it was her spiciest book yet! I felt every emotion while reading this. I was in shock, frustrated, and sad then I was laughing, swooning, and falling in love.
It was very 'Right person, Wrong time' coded and they both had made some mistakes and assumptions that caused years of them being apart. Silas just wanted someone to love him and Posey just wanted someone to choose her first.
The Forced Proximity was exactly what they needed. They were able to become friends first again while realizing that the love between them was never lost.
The goat farm and goat yoga was such a fun part of the book and the whole Marjorie thing had me CRACKING up.

Brooke always delivers on smalltown romance, and Silas and Posey's story was no exception. Take My Love is full of laugh out loud moments but also so many fun, flirty moments, too. My girl Marjorie was the star! I loved her meddling antics. I can't wait to continue this series! 🩷

The spice was spicin’ 😮💨 Silas has a mouth on him and I was living for it.
Posie and Silas are the definition of miscommunication, but they do grow and find their way past it all. I enjoyed watching them fall in love and move on to happier lives with one another.

3.5 they made the fmc a little too pathetic on purpose while the mmc had a little too much perfect and I always say this but the tattoos and love declarations or it’s always been you and yet I almost married someone else? Yeah okay totally jives
I made of note of really not liking the mmc once he gave Emily his number and was about to bring her over for movie night while he was a guest? They never really said he did it to make Fmc jealous so that really was okay in his eyes gives me the ick when you are homeless and would be jobless with the homeowners generosity given how badly he fucked up between them years ago.

Brooke Montgomery has quickly become one of my all-time favorite authors. Whether I’m looking for a romance that will have me all up in my feels or I'm looking for the perfect hook, line, and sinker book I know it’ll be in a novel written by Brooke Montgomery. Posey and Silas’ story made that fact even more true! The first two books in the Willow Branch Series were both stories I couldn’t put down! I think what keeps me coming back for more is the concept of friendship and kinship woven within these stories. I came from a tight-knit family and I can find a sense of nostalgia within the pages of this book. Their wild antics take me back to my own family's wild antics! That’s a feeling that I’ll forever be grateful for when reading a novel from this author.
Anywho, let’s get back to my thoughts on the novel in review, Take My Love by Brooke Montgomery. Take My Love is the second book in the Willow Branch Series. Posey and Silas’ love story takes you on a forbidden ride. You see, Posey and Silas have a history other than Silas being Posey’s older brother's best friend. I have to say, I was loving the forbidden aspect this novel brought to the table, not just for the older brother’s best friend vibe but the no workplace romance rule Posey’s dad created to create a calm workplace environment. This trope heated the pages in an epic delicious slow burn way.
The history between Posey and Silas broke my heart. Posey and Silas were always meant to be, the chemistry was an undeniable factor, but fear always stepped in their way pushing them apart, and in the end, Silas did the unthinkable and broke Posey’s heart. Now, Posey holds a grudge as good as any woman who had their heart ripped and torn apart. And it’s Silas’s job to carefully put the pieces of the heart he broke back together again. I loved the fact that Silas was the villain and the white knight of this story. It wasn’t looking good for ol’ Silas at the beginning of this novel. I felt my own heart grow angry at the choices this man made out of fear of losing his best friend. Let’s just say, the poor man got a good hearty dose of Karma.
The moments Silas talked Posey through her…. Issues… were monumental page scorchers! I honestly couldn’t read certain moments of this novel without my flushed cheeks giving me away to what I was reading! I freaking loved every moment of the one-on-one sessions. In all honesty, it took me by surprise! I wasn’t expecting Silas to put his cards on the table like that! So he got an extra, that a boy, for bringing his sexy back! So, bottom line, if you love spice woven in your romance novels and aren’t afraid for the characters to get a little dirty in between the sheets, this is definitely the novel for you!!!
My heart adored Posey and Silas’ story. I loved how Brooke Montgomery brought all the emotions to the table. Now the reasoning behind why I dropped a star on my rating. I felt like the ending rushed by way too fast. There were moments I would have loved to see play out, that were a measly discussion. I feel like I needed those moments for Silas to be able to rid that last bit of fear revolving around a relationship with his best friend’s sister. If that makes sense.
Overall, I really enjoyed Take My Love by Brooke Montgomery!! I can’t wait to read what’s coming next in this series! I have a feeling this next book is going to be even greater than the two that came before!!
If you’re a fan of: 🐀 Spicy lessons w/dirty talk 🐐 Roommates with benefits 👻 Forbidden & secret relationships 🐐 Goat yoga & ranch life 🐀 Addictive writing!
𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐲 & 𝐒𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐬. Posey has always had a crush on her brothers bestie and Silas secretly had the same feelings for Posey for years growing up. When they were at a wedding with a few drinks, they hooked up. It’s the miss communication trope and they never spoke of it and Silas moved on… multiple times.
I love this authors books, always giving them 4-5 stars but this book fell flat for me. These characters drove me insane with their immaturity and lack of personal growth. Silas only chose Posey because his fiancé ended their engagement so he crawled back to his family and needed a job.. begging his friends for a place to stay and Posey was the only one with a spare bedroom. Posey, still having a crush on Silas allowed him back into her life and allowed him to touch her and give her spicy lessons almost immediately. I didn’t believe their chemistry. It felt forced to keep the storyline going but this author knows how to write good spice. 🔥
I finished the book to see if Marjorie was real.. 👻… who was the star of the story! I loved her!
🤵🏻 Brother’s best friend 🐐 Goat farm workplace 🤠 City boy x Cowgirl 🗝️ Roommates with benefits 🍆 He’s Pierced ✌🏻 Dual POV
While I think Posey deserved better, I still highly recommend this series and I’m literally jumping up and down so excited for the next book and those characters.
I'd enjoyed both characters in Warren and Masie’s book and was so happy that they were the couple in this one!
I loved the premise, with them having history and then being stuck living and working together while Silas tried to sort his life out again.
Silas was such a sweet guy, and I loved how patient he was with Posey when it was clear that they still had feelings for each other.
I liked that Posey wasn't willing to settle for being a rebound and that she knew what she wanted, even if she was a little scared by it.
The spicy scenes were so well done, and I loved how Silas talked her through it.
Their cabin being haunted by a meddling ghost was such a fun aspect, and I really enjoyed how ‘angry’ Marjorie got with them both when they entertained the idea of seeing other people.
I also loved the little cameo from Ellie and Landon’s wedding. I adored the Sugarland Creek series, so it was nice to see some of the characters popping up again.
While I think Maisie and Warren’s book is still my favourite of this series, this one was so much fun and has me looking forward to the next book!
Silas & Posey. This story was so much, in the best way. This was one I binged in less than 24 hours, I just couldn’t put it down! Brooke writes the easiest to read books, the draw you in and hold you until you finish them and then you have to impatiently wait for more!
Okay, so back to our couple - Silas & Posey, childhood friends. Brothers best friend. Forbidden love. A bit of miscommunication that separated them for almost a decade but Silas ends up dumped 2 weeks before his wedding and he returns to his hometown, broke. Jobless. Homeless. & the person who has an open job and an open spare bedroom just happens to be his best friends little sister, who hates him…
I loved this story, so much tension and love and symbolic meaning throughout.
Some of my favorite quotes:
“that sometimes it’s necessary to change courses when it feels right or you’ll risk grieving what you missed out on by playin’ it safe.”
“She’s it for me. I wanted her for years.”
“So you can continue callin’ me a city boy by your standards, but you have firsthand proof I’m anythin’ but vanilla.”
