this was a very well written, exciting, thrilling, detailed book. enjoyed it very much but man i wanted to smack liana so many times. How do u stay loyal to and keep loving a father that uses u as a pawn, who clearly shows and tells u u mean nothing to him beyond what he can use u for, and who has made your life hell then sold u for his debts? If she had just been honest with Damiano none of the chaos had to happen but she really thought she could play both sides and get away with it? I don't understand how u could do that to the man you have come to love for someone who isn't worth a pile of dog poo. I yelled at my phone the entire story because she continued to be so stupid decision after decision even though she knew and told herself she was being stupid she just continued to be even more stupid day after day. It made no rational sense. How do u know u are making bad decisions then just keep doing it anyway? grrrr Damiano accepts Liana in place of a debt and has her pretend to be his fake fiance for the mafia council but that goes awry from the very beginning. taking her virginity right away then trying to keep distance but he can't because he is intrigued by her and finds her enchanting. her laugh, her sunshine, getting to know her, talking to her. damiano never lets anyone close, he's cold, closed off, hard, violent when needed and has no use for love but slowly it worms its way into his heart. which is devastating when he discovers that Liana keeps lying to him and is working for her father and those close to him who are out to betray him. He gives her many chances to be honest but she refuses so it rips his heart apart esp as he has to keep protecting her in attack after attack where someone is out to kill her. there's danger at every turn,war is coming, enemies abound, betrayal everywhere and death after death. how can love flourish in such conditions between two ppl who can't find trust between them because of lies and secrets. eventually the day arrives where a choice must be made a side picked and death is very close esp if the wrong choice is made.

In Liana's fathers eyes, she was only a tool to be used and dispose of when no longer required. To help him schmooze people out of their money, a pretty face to make them think they had a chance. This was her life... until Damiano Moretti entered the picture.
Her father stole money from the wrong mafia prince, now that prince was here to collect the debt. Her slimy father jumped at the chance to offer her up as collateral, to be Damiano's fake fiancé for one month until he was crowned Don.
In utter disbelief and no real choice, she went with him and they flew to a private island thinking they'd be safe. Not everyone was happy about the unexpected wedding. With so much at steak for both of them, enemies trying to bring them down at every turn, can these two keep up the ruse of being lovers or will the lines blur between fake and reality.
I really liked this book and the overall plot. I do have a few issues though.. there were a few spelling mistakes and missing words. One minute they were sitting down, then all of a sudden standing up, going from in a bedroom then they are in a bathroom. Very confusing at times! Some parts were rushed and others didn't get the time they deserved. I felt the ending was rather abrupt and the bad guys didn't get enough payback for what they did to Liana and Damiano. There was no epilogue in the ARC that I received so I hope this has been added to the final copy.

Alexis Lee highlights every personality flaw in Liana and Damiano, but they’re more than their families or their history! Trust, betrayal, loyalty, and suspense create an atmosphere that makes their lives a twisted mess! The setting is beautiful, their attraction is volatile, and their emotions are complex! I was frustrated by her decisions and omissions: they caused too much stress and suspicion. Damiano is a lethal man, but he gave her so much grace! This is an adrenaline rush from beginning to end, the spice is hot and the pool scene is perfect, and a fake engagement turns into an addictive obsession! This couple goes through so many phases, but ends on a truly amazing example of accepting and giving love!.

Great Plot, but…
This story had a really good plot, but I could t in good conscience give more stars because of the inconsistencies. Several times, a scene would start one place and then seem to jump. It made me have to go back and reread several pages to try to make sense. Just to determine there was something missing in the story. It also seems a few times that the author wrote one thing, and then changed it, but didn’t make the changes throughout the story. For example, one time the MMC served two tours in Iraq, then he got out of the army at 19, then his navy training never went away.
If you read this story knowing there were going to be some plot holes and inconsistent plot points, then you will enjoy the overall story.

This thrilling story had me at every twist and turn it took glued to my seat as I connected with Damiano and Liana. She was caught up between three men that was after the ultimate prize, and she was their way to get it. Used as a ploy by her father she had to become Damiano fake fiancé because of a lost debt. Neither of them expected the feelings that developed or the two pink lines. Will their relationship turn into the real deal and lead them to happiness.

The action is this book is amazing and the twist and turn love but damn I didn’t like the Liana at all. Like what why did she have to do him like that like history repeating itself. Also what happened at the end with the council? What happened to her father? Did they stay at the villa?? Did they have a boy or girl?? Like what the heck why was there no closure at the end?!?

Damiano & Liana. Story was OK. Some inconsistencies throughout the story that really break the rhythm. They're in a car but then the description is that they're on a motorcycle. Also, word usage is weird sometimes, common phrases aren't used correctly. Grammar and sentence structure are off too This is the 2nd book I've read from this author and the same issues throughout. I don't think I'll be reading anymore from her. It's too distracting

This was an amazing Mafia story the characters were compelling, and i really enjoyed the story, which had me on the edge of seat in places. But what I couldn't understand was her loyalty to her father after the way he treated her.

Sold like merchandise Liana finds herself at the mercy of Damiano, the next mafia don. This story was captivating and suspenseful. Intense as well as intriguing, the twists kept me on edge. It was absolutely entertaining.

This is a new author for me and I enjoyed the characters and their chemistry. I prefer my books with a little more groveling to bring couples back together but still a good read nonetheless.

Great Mafia Romance
Damiano and Liano met and liked each other but her dad and his cousin began causing trouble at once,tried several times to kill Damiano. Eventually he falls in love with her and cares enough to fight for her. Really liked this mafia story.
