Bringing yoga to the 1850s.
Riley is a yoga instructor on a short getaway trip in the Colorado Rockies. She's having such a great trip that she's thinking of perhaps setting up some yoga retreats for her students to join her.
She leaves the trail to go down to the river to fill her water flask. As she's bending over, her foot slips off of a mossy stone, and she falls in the river. As she tries to get her balance, the rushing icy cold water knocks her off her feet. She watches her backpack and flask go flying before she blacks out and sinks below the surface.
When she resurfaces, she has no idea how long she was knocked out. She notices two things: the sky is turning gray and stormy, and she doesn't see her backpack or phone anywhere. How far downstream did she travel? And with her lousy sense of direction, how will she ever find her way back without her phone? Oh well, she can just follow the path back the way she came. But what happened to the path? It's disappeared! She’s cold, wet, and lost with a storm on the way. She thinks, "Might as well stick a fork in me, I'm done!" She's doomed to die of exposure in the mountains…
As if things aren't bad enough already, it begins to sleet and then snow as she tries walking back to her car. She's so cold and tired that she tries to rest under a tree, but it's no protection. The next thing she knows, an old-timey-looking cowboy is standing in front of her. He says he needs to get her to his place and out of the cold. He doesn't seem to understand about her phone. He feels so warm that she knows she must go with him if she's going to survive.
Wyatt has no idea why she's dressed in such skimpy clothes that look more like undergarments. And he's just as clueless about what a phone or Wi-Fi is when she asks him about them. When she flippantly asks what year he's in, she's shocked when he says 1857. She tells him she's from 2025.
As they're both trying to take this in, there's a knock at the door, and his neighbors, Boone and Cora, enter. The same thing happened to Cora a couple of years ago. Cora promises to tell her more later but tells Riley it will begin to make more sense after she's had something to eat and some rest.
When she doesn't care for his coffee, he asks her what she'd rather have, but she rattles off the name of something he's never heard of. When she admits it's a kind of an ice tea, he can at least take her in town for one at the Saloon. Only although she liked the tea, a fight ensued when another man got too familiar with her. As they're leaving for home, his younger brother, Cade, stops them. Their mother isn't well, and their sister, Lucy, is falling apart. Wyatt would rather just go home, but Riley won't allow it. Good thing she insisted because she's found an excellent reason to stay in the Old West—a purpose for her life!

She went looking for clarity. Instead, she found 1857... and him.
Riley thinks a solo hiking retreat in Colorado will help her reset before heading back to her studio and her life. But when she slips into a river and wakes somewhere she doesn't recognize, she's cold, soaked, and completely unprepared for what, and who, she finds.
Wyatt has kept to himself for years, tucked deep in the woods and far from the weight of his family's expectations. He’s not looking for company. But Riley isn't just lost, she's the one person who might finally see him for who he really is.
As snow falls and secrets unravel, their fight for survival becomes a fight to hold on to each other. What begins as a fragile connection rooted in circumstance grows into something fierce, tender, and real.
Together, they face loss, hard truths, and the quiet ache of wanting more. She brings light into his world. He gives her something solid to hold on to. And in a place that’s nothing like where they came from, they start to imagine a future.
Riley transforms from a modern, independent woman chasing balance to someone grounded in purpose. Wyatt opens up, inch by inch, letting her past his walls. Their bond deepens into something raw and lasting, built on trust, support, and quiet strength.
A steamy, time travel, grumpy sunshine, frontier mountain man, historical small town romance exploring survival, identity, love, loss, adaptation, trust, and belonging. It’s about finding love in the least expected place, building something real from nothing, and choosing to stay when everything tells you to run. It’s about a woman who thought she had it all figured out, a man who thought he'd given up on connection, and the life they build when they choose each other.

This contemporary Western mountain man time travel romance is page-turning with exceptional world-building on the Colorado Frontier, where fate is feral, love is lawless, and the original mountain man is ready to claim what's his. Their journey is enthralling with explicit romance that is consumed by steamy sizzling passion, lust, desire, and spice with all the feelings to leave readers breathless and begging for more, humor that will have readers laughing out loud, chaos/drama, heartfelt emotions/emotional depth, a heroine who finds more than love-she finds where she truly belongs, cabin-core+, prairie-core+ portal fantasy smut, only one bed, a grumpy guarded mountain man, time-travel with no way back, a free-heroine meets guarded cowboy, fate, heat, and second-chances. Somewhere between the stars and the soil...she just might find her forever, suspense that will leave readers on the edge of their seats, action, adventure, and more. I recommend reading this book by an extraordinary author who knows how to captivate her readers' hearts and attention with rough hands on the prairie and an explicit romance that will surely transport readers into a world that is wildly lustful, entertaining, humorous, and unforgettable.

Well it ain't no iced matcha strawberry lattes but it is tasty
Stranded on the Prairie is the third book in The Original Mountain Man series. The story blends time travel with mountain man all wrapped into a romance that could happen anywhere. Riley is a modern day woman who lives in the city and teaches yoga. She enjoys her iced matcha strawberry lattes with no oak milk, along with the convenience of cell phones and more. But when she is out hiking in the Montana wilderness to clear her head for the day she slips on a mossy rock while filling her canteen in the river. Before she knows it she is being dragged into the water and things go dark. When she surfaces again she does not know where she ism she cannot find her pack and it seems the weather has changed suddenly. Wyatt is the son of a rich family who own half of a small town in Montana. But he did not want any of it and instead moved out to the mountains ten years ago, building a cabin with his own hands. He lives off the land by trapping and selling the pelts. But when he finds a beautiful red haired woman freezing out in the forest he knows he has to get her back to the cabin. It seems he has gotten something else from the land he was not expecting. What neither knows at that moment is just what fate has ready to for them both.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Wild, Dreamy, and Full of Heart! 🌾🔥
Stranded on the Prairie by Frankie Love is another stunning addition to The Original Mountain Man Series. This book captures everything I adore about time-travel romance — the magic of fate, the clash between eras, and the slow burn that turns into an inferno.
Riley is such a free spirit — open-hearted, whimsical, and beautifully brave. Her energy perfectly balances Wyatt’s rugged, brooding nature. He’s the kind of man who’s been hurt before, but watching Riley melt his defenses was absolutely heartwarming. Their chemistry is electric, and the “one bed” tension? Pure perfection.
Frankie Love has a gift for writing stories that feel both tender and scorching hot. The blend of prairie grit and spiritual sweetness made this one a five-star read for me. It’s romantic, funny, emotional, and leaves you believing that maybe, just maybe, love really can transcend time.
If you love tough cowboys, mystical heroines, and a story that feels like destiny — Stranded on the Prairie will sweep you right off your feet. 🤍🌙.

Riley is a modern woman with an open heart, always searching for something more — though she never imagined “more” would look like a storm, a stranger, and a whole new century. Enter Wyatt: rugged, guarded, and carrying a broken past that’s left him wary of hope. When Riley crashes—literally—into his world, neither of them can deny the pull between them.
As Riley adapts to prairie life, she discovers her modern wisdom can make a difference in ways she never dreamed. And in Wyatt’s arms, she begins to see not just survival, but the possibility of a forever home — one built on trust, healing, and undeniable passion.
This novella is short, sweet, and sizzling, with all the hallmarks of a Frankie Love story: a protective hero, a tender yet determined heroine, and a romance that feels destined. Stranded on the Prairie is for readers who love the magic of fate, the heat of a one-bed firelight setting, and the beauty of finding love where — and when — you least expect it.

**Looking for Peace!**
I just finished reading "Stranded on the Prairie," the third book in The Original Mountain Man series, and I couldn't wait to share my thoughts! The story follows Riley, who is out exploring the gorgeous landscape when she accidentally slips and falls into a river. Luckily, she wakes up just in time to find Wyatt rescuing her before a storm hits.
To her surprise, Riley realizes that she has time-traveled back to 1857 and has no idea how to get back home. But as she spends more time with Wyatt, the sparks fly! Their chemistry is undeniable, and Riley discovers that she can make a real difference in the lives of the people in this time, rather than feeling stuck in her own.
This instalove story is so much fun to read—it's lighthearted, with no drama, an age gap, and lots of exciting moments. I'm absolutely loving this series and can't wait to see what happens next!

Riley is out hiking and slips and blacks out and comes to .. and is rescued by Wyatt...in the year 1857! At first she is in shock (naturally), but at least she meets someone else who has also travelled from the year 2025. Apparently the small town in 1857 lacks marriageable women. Maybe. She decides that she wants to stay, not just because she can't find a way to time travel back (small details really), but because she thinks her skills in meditation instruction can help the small townsfolk. And of course, she can't bear to leave Wyatt.
I have actually read some of the author's other time travelling works, so I was not surprised at this book, although this is the first of the series that I picked up, so I was surprised in a way! It's a cute short read that is well-written and a great break in the day. It was fun and entertaining.

Life back when by MeemsAngel82
If this is roughing it, sign a girl up! More of great Frankie writing and a steamy read that will serve as a great distraction. I think this is a sweet family connected story that has a good point. We all need someone.
She went back in time to find her love.
She found a new family the way things look. Keeping those old memories and making new ones. She's a good soul and I love their chemistry. I do wish once again that they waited a bit to have some fun times, lol. They are a heated pair and I felt for their losses. I wish we had more time for him and his family to really connect, I loved this but again, I wish it were more stretched out. Frankie has done it again!

When Riley took a tumble while taking a mountain walk she never imagined where she would end up. She now finds herself with no way to contact anyone for help and with inclement weather on the way. When Wyatt comes to her rescue he brings more questions than answers when she finds out is 1857 and not 2025.
Wyatt is surprised when he comes across Riley but the one thing he knows is that he can’t leave her there. As he spends time with her he realizes that she isn’t from this time but he is drawn to her and wants to show her that this is where she belongs.
Riley and Wyatt are perfect for each other as she helps him with his family and he helps her adjust to her new life and the chemistry and connect between them was never in doubt.

STRANDED ON THE PRAIRIE is Book 3 of The Original Mountain Man Series. It's a short and steamy, instalove, OTT, opposites-attract, grumpy-sunshine, time travel, forced-proximity, girl gets her mountain man romance. Riley is a smart and sassy yoga instructor from 2025. Wyatt is a hunky, grumpy, reclusive mountain man from 1857. When Riley is hiking, she suddenly finds herself in 1857, freezing and alone when Wyatt funds her. He takes her to his cabin to warm up. The two are attracted to each other and things get steamy, but Wyatt is afraid she will leave again. When tragedy strikes, will Riley stay? These two had great chemistry and the ending was happy after a bit of drama. I hope we get Cade's story next!

Really enjoying this series. Full of adventure and romance. Riley is the latest woman to fall through the portal between the present and the 1800's. She is on a break from her job as a yoga instructor. She fall into the water near to where she is hiking and is rescued by Wyatt. A man who is living in the mountains away from his family. He is frustrated that his mom is always trying to set him up with someone. Riley is torn between returning to her time(if she can) and staying where she is. Both quickly fall for one another. Great read and great HEA. Can not wait for another book in the series.

Riley is the third to be transported back to the 1850's prairie of Colorado and she's so far seemed to be the most reluctant as to her new place in life. She definitely gives Wyatt and run for his money and watching them verbally spar was enjoyable. They certainly don't waste any time falling into each other's arms and hitching themselves to each other. My biggest complaint is the ending as you don't find out if it's a boy or a girl.

Riley is a yoga instructor who, while hiking in the woods, accidentally falls into a river in 2025 and gets pulled out of the river by Wyatt in 1857. Wyatt is a mountain man who rescues Riley and takes her to his cabin, getting more than he bargained for. This time travel romance is a quick read with likable characters, a great storyline, steam, and a happily ever after. Stranded on the Prairie is book three and a great addition to The Original Mountain Man series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

"Welcome to the Colorado frontier, where fate is feral, love is lawless, and the original mountain man is ready to claim what's his." This is the third stand alone story in the "Original Mountain Man" series. The story takes us back into time to frontier days. The story is about Riley and Elias. Riley, a yoga instructor, has made a trip to the Colorado Rockies when she slips into the river. When she resurfaces there is a storm brewing. She tries to take cover and then sees a cowboy from days gone by. This is a good, short and quick read with some time travel, passion and sweetness.

Stranded on the Prairie is a charming, short time-travel romance that follows Riley, who is unexpectedly transported back to 1857. There, she meets Wyatt and decides to build a new life with him, using her knowledge of yoga to help those around her. It's a delightful, quick read—perfect for enjoying in just one sitting.

This is a very enjoyable story and book 3 of this time travel series. Riley is hiking in Colorado when she falls in a stream and ends up in 1857. There she meets Wyatt who had been out checking his trap lines. I really liked this story. Wyatt and Riley are great together. It’s fast paced with some steam and very well written. Great happy ending too.

A wonderfully written time travel story, where yoga instructor, Riley accidentally falls in the river the year 2025 and comes out in the 1850s during a snow storm. Luckily she was found by mountain man, Wyatt who take her to his cabin to warm her up. Romance soon begins, as they were incredibly attracted to each other. In their words "it just felt right".

“Stranded on the Prairie” by Frankie Love
-A delightful time-travel romance filled with warmth, wonder, and instant connection. I received a free copy and am voluntarily sharing my honest thoughts.
Riley tumbles from 2025 into 1857 and straight into the arms of rugged cowboy Wyatt. Together they find healing, hope, and heart in a world without modern noise.
Sweet, steamy, and full of destiny. I love time travel stories and this is a good one.

October 6, 2025After slipping on a hike and falling into a stream Riley finds herself in the year 1857 and with a ver special cowboy Yatt, who instantly is someone very special to her. She does not know how to travel back in time and seems not to be the only woman from the year 2025. But she is a modern woman, which leads to some funny situations. A short romantic story with a twinkling eye and some heat.

This is the third book in the series, and I've noticed a recurring theme among the MMCs — they've all experienced the loss of someone special in some form. Love happens quickly and simply, without pretenses. And the FMCS are truly suited for anyone who finds her.
What moves me deeply is their genuine happiness in living simply and appreciating life's quiet pleasures despite their struggles.

This was a great book. It showed a great blend of modern society with the old school prairie vibe. Riley was just a sweet girl alone in the world. So when she was found i dont think she was expecting to find a family in Wyatt. Wyatt was a loner who lost his family and was searching but not really searching. They needed each other and it was beautiful.

Riley went into the woods for peace, only to fall and then wake up in 1857. Wyatt finds this strange woman wearing the weirdest clothes he has ever seen and takes her to his cabin. The weather is so bad that it was his only option. I love this plot. Two totally unlike characters who find love in another century and get a fantastic, happy ending.

This is the third in the time traveling series, the present year 1857. Wyatt never expects to find a strange woman by the river. Riley is a yoga instructor that never expects a hike in the woods would take her back in time.
She falls into the river and is saved by Wyatt, she is shocked to learn that she has traveled back in time. Things heat up while she is staying with him.

Ortra story of the Original Mountain man that is short, easy to read and with a plot that is enjoyed. Riley is a yoga instructor, who from one moment to another finds herself lost in a different era, and when she meets with Wyatt a Mountain Man who helps her. Among them there is a lot of attraction from the first moment they met. Each one got over complicated times but could have a future even if they were so different.
