Enjoy learning about and using mindfulness

This is a book I like. It is written in a light and somewhat sarcastic tone that engages. It is practical as it teaches clearly how to use mindfulness in everyday life and in different situations. As the author says, it is about doing this: “Pay attention to how you think and feel on purpose, long enough to notice what’s happening”. I like that the book is short and still offers enough rationale and proof to be convincing, but most important of all, it offers simple and practical exercises. It teaches that the mind´s wandering is normal and that returning is the training that you can apply. Doing the mindfulness workout may mean you spend five minutes getting distracted and bringing yourself back 50 times is your win. I have read other books about mindfulness and liked them, but I think I like this one the best because of its honesty and humor, and the down-to-earth messages of how to and what is gained. Who doesn't want to learn how to use mindfulness “...when things get messy – like in traffic, in meetings, at home with the kids, when your brain decides that midnight is the perfect time to run a blooper reel of your worst moments”?

A no-nonsense guide to mindfulness

This book is for anyone who thinks mindfulness is silly "BS" but also secretly feels like they need to calm down. It's a very short book that gets rid of all the fluffy stuff like whale sounds and incense. Instead, it just gives you the basic, practical tools that actually work when you're stressed. It teaches simple tricks, like a five-minute reset to clear your head and a three-second pause to stop you from overreacting. It’s a great starting point for people who want to stop overthinking and feel better.
