Wow, wow, wow!. What a high adrenaline rush! Excellent from start to finish. I almost cried at one point I was so invested in the story. That saying...saved the best for last? True in this series. While I totally enjoyed the other stories, this was my favorite and I'm sad to see it end.
While you could read it as a stand alone, you'd miss out on the meeting of other characters and canines. Each story is brilliantly written.
Well done. Definitely reccommend reading.

Oh my goodness!! I've read a lot of Ms Mentinks books and have loved them!! Scent of sabotage is no exception. The end of this awesome K9 series. I'm sad to see the characters go. It can be read as a standalone, but I recommend going back and reading all of them. Non stop, exciting, action packed suspense that keeps you wandering what will happen next!! A closed down amusement park, trying to stay alive, danger lurking around the next corner and battling a raging wildfire!! A definite page turner!! K9 Arthur stole the show throughout the story and a pup called Poe. A must read for Christian suspense fans!! I was given a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.

Dana Mentink brings her latest Love Inspired Suspense series, Security Hounds Investigations, to an epic conclusion with Scent of Sabotage! Beth Wolfe, owner of the Security Hounds Detective Agency and much-loved matriarch of the Wolfe Family has a blessed life with her adult children running their family business. Widowed for many years, Beth is shocked when her old high school flame, Jack St. James, contacts her, saying one word that contains her most guarded secret—Adam, the son that she and Jack gave up for adoption as teenagers. When she goes to secretly meet Jack, he gets attacked. Concussed, Jack can’t remember the reason for their meeting. As Jack recovers and remembers, he pieces together that he has met Adam and that they have a relationship of sorts. Adam calls upon Jack, who is an investigative reporter by trade, to help locate his missing girlfriend, Tess. When Beth finds out, she refuses to leave Jack’s side and lends her expertise as a detective, along with her security dog, Arthur. What transpires is a wild jaunt through an amusement park that’s closed during the California wildfires. As Jack and Beth chase down clues and uncover insurmountable evidence of unknown crimes, they find healing and restoration in the only way God could orchestrate as everything goes up in flames around them.

Dana Mentink took me on a wild ride with Scent of Sabotage, and I will never look at another amusement park the same way again because of it! Even though this is only the second book I’ve read from the Security Hounds Investigations series, I was not lost with its sixth installment—it just made me want to read the rest all the more (and they are on my TBR list)! I love that Ms. Mentink wrote Jack and Beth to be older and I enjoyed meeting them! (I also love that more Christian authors are making their main characters in their 40s and doing suspenseful things!) The use of an amusement park as the center of the story, while a wildfire is raging no less, was a very unique choice that kept me glued to my seat as a reader. I love how Ms. Mentink had both Beth and Jack’s storylines woven together, yet merged them as one. I was amazed at Beth and Jack’s past together and their independent takes on it—that Jack reached out to Adam after all these years and that Beth kept Adam a firmly guarded secret from everyone but her late husband. Having both sides of the situation and how they handled it and why made me feel for Jack and Beth. I understood clearly why Jack felt the need to reach out and why Beth felt like she couldn’t. I love that Beth and Jack didn’t judge or blame each other for this, rather seeing themselves for who they were without Christ at the time as opposed to who they are now. I love the Grace that was shown in the book regarding Adam—it was a powerful lesson to witness. If you are looking for a read full of high stakes and Grace, then I highly recommend Scent of Sabotage by Dana Mentink!

Mama Wolfe has a secret, a big one. I liked how after getting the kids stories, we now get Mom's. That was the perfect icing on the cake for this series. Beth Wolfe has always been a great supporting character. She is a widow and loves her kids and those they bring home fiercely. She is also very much involved in the family security hounds business. But like I said, she has a got a secret and her secret has come knocking on her door in the form of investigative journalist Jack St. James.

Jack has always loved Beth. Now for the secret they share, he needs her help. Beth is not sure how to feel about Jack coming back into her life and exposing the past they shared. She was happily married for decades, but at fifty-six, is it time for her to find a new/old love again? I like that this story wraps up the series full circle with family being super important.

I was provided a copy of this novel from the author. I was not required to post a positive review, and all views and opinions are my own.

Hang on to your seat! This is the most incredible conclusion to the Security Hounds Investigations series. Don’t miss this one or any of the fantastic books this author writes.

When you’ve healed enough, you’ll know it and you’ll be able to speak your truth. But what is the truth? A long lost love, difficult decisions, a closed rundown amusement park and a missing person. With fires burning all around them, will Beth and Arthur, her bloodhound, manage to help Jack regain his memory on why he sought her out after so many years. The tension does not let up and hope for a rescue gets smokier all the time. Will they get out safely?

A copy of this Love Inspired Suspense was received through BookFunnel. These thoughts are my own and were in no way solicited.
