"I don't understand why we're running, but I don't care. I don't understand half of what you ever want to do, but i'm going to follow you anyway because you're mine."

Omg. The YEARNING?! The TENSION?! I had no idea that I would fall head over heels off a cliff for this book, and become so invested in Aurelia & Fox. I truly could not put this one down, I read this book in a day.

Fox is the epitome of a grumpy broody mc, who is trying to resist this strong pull of attraction he has for Aurelia, who's trying to avoid falling in love for so many reasons, but he's absolutely feral for her. He would follow her anywhere. He can't stop thinking about her, she consumes his thoughts and it makes him go wild lol. The moment he drops all the armor and grabs her face and kisses her?!

The push and pull was EVERYTHING. Aurelia is also super easy to love, she has so much spunk and sass, but most importantly so much heart. There is quite literally no one more perfect for Fox. 🥹

I also need a "Goodday Eugene" t-shirt, he was one of my tavorite side characters to follow, having him as the page breaks?! SO CUTE!!

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for my review. I have really enjoyed this whole series, but this was my favorite book (and couple) in the series so far. I definitely recommend reading the books in order for full enjoyment. The main conflict of the story didn't appear until the very end, but Aurelia's character development and the building relationship between the MCs throughout the story made this book hard to put down. I will definitely be re-reading this again soon.

A Hunger in Every Heart 💜
This is the third book in the Enchanted Legacies series, and it’s definitely my favorite so far. Rapunzel meets Little Red Riding Hood? I was completely sold just for the vibes!!

The story follows Aurelia, a fae princess who has spent her whole life hidden away in a tower to protect her from her tyrannical father. Now that he’s dead, she’s finally free, but she can’t quite bring herself to leave.
Fox, a half-fae, with a giant secret he’s also an half-wolf shifter with a brutal past, has spent his life fighting to survive and now finds himself drawn to Aurelia in ways he refuses to admit.

They’ve been in a secret, strictly physical relationship for two years, distant during the day, intense at night, but when Aurelia finally has a reason to leave and chase the adventure she’s always dreamed of, Fox realizes he might not be able to let her go.

The journey to find out the truth about her family, will bring Aurelia closer and closer to Fox.

The yearning and angst in this book, and the spice?! I was totally hooked. I loved that the story starts earlier in their relationship, giving us a deeper understanding of Aurelia and Fox from the beginning.

Aurelia is such a powerful “witch,” and I really appreciated getting to see more of Fox’s backstory and why he’s so quiet. Their journey together was beautiful, and I loved learning more about the shifter world.

The training scenes are so well written, and I adored how Fox couldn’t take his eyes off Aurelia. The “one tent” trope is one of my favorites 🥹

A huge thanks to Kate King for the ARC and the opportunity to read her book in advance in exchange for an honest review.

🇮🇹:

I love Kate King and The Enchanted Legacies series, so going into this book I was fully expecting a great time. In fact, I thought this would end up being my favourite of the series. And while I did have a good time, it ended up being my least favourite in the series.

Starting with the likes: I really enjoyed Aurelia and Eugene. I felt like I connected with Aurelia more than any of the previous FMCs. I also loved getting to know the shifters and their group dynamic, and even though it’s a smaller side plot, I absolutely adored Connell and Jett. I need more of them like I need to breathe!

Onto what didn’t work; the pacing. The first third of the book felt rushed in an odd way, with a lot of telling rather than showing and some large time jumps to catch us up from the previous books. It left me feeling a bit disconnected from the characters and their relationships.

Once we reached Thermia, the middle section felt like it stalled, there was a lot of training and smut, but not much plot progression as we waited for the meeting with the queen. Then, the climax came and went far too quickly. It wrapped up in just a few pages and felt a bit too easy to be believable. I wish the final third had been expanded, with more time spent building Aurelia’s relationship with her sister before everything reached its peak.

I also expected to like Fox more than I did, but for some reason he occasionally grated on me, though that might just be a me problem
.
Overall, this was still a fun read. I do think it could have benefited from being about 100 pages shorter or more evenly paced. That said, I really loved the Tangled inspired Easter eggs throughout, and Aurelia’s love for animals added a touch that I genuinely appreciated and related with! My toxic trait is thinking I can tame any creature and have them become my side kick so she's a mood!

Woooowwwwwww. I just knew Fox and Aurelia were gonna be a favorite of the bunch and I was 100% correct.

I loved how their story progressed and the little side quests that happened with the wolves. The entire Thermia castle thing was nuts and not expected.

I loved Fox. I LOVE FOX. I LOVE HIM.

Are Jett and Connell gonna be a thing????? Cause I’m here for it 👀

I have been looking forward to Fox and Aurelia’s story since reading A Holiday in Every Heart, and it did not disappoint. The angst and yearning is strong in this story. I think I have a new thing for growling now. Their sexual chemistry is off the charts! 🥵 Obsessed with how Fox would just growl at Aurelia and throw her over his shoulder when she was being a brat!!

We get to see how Aurelia and Fox’s story begins. Aurelia has been locked away in a tower for so long and longs for the adventures she reads about. Her dad is dead, so what is stopping her? She has always wanted to see the northern lights that show up in the sky every year on her birthday. When she tells Beatrix her plan, Beatrix drops some heavy information on her about her origins. Aurelia now has more reasons to visit Thermia and is determined to get there. Not even a pesky Fox can stop her.

We finally get Fox’s backstory and why he was sent to Dyaspora. He has many secrets and reasons for why he cannot give himself fully to Aurelia. He knows how dangerous Thermia is and will not allow Aurelia to go on this journey alone. They run into his past during this journey and he will do whatever it takes to keep her safe.

Did I mention that we get more Connell!! Freaking love that guy.

Favorite scene: When Aurelia asks Fox if he can shift into a wolf with wings. Had me dying. 😂

Thank you to the author for this gifted eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I love this series so much. They’ve all been so fun to read but this was by far my favorite. I love Aurelia and Fox so much. Ugh my heart. I really liked them both in the previous books but this sealed them as my favorite couple. The story was great too, loved all the characters (wells sans a few), loved getting to see the shifters more and learn about their dynamics. I will read all of the upcoming books and probably anything that Kate writes. Thank you so much for the ARC.

I am forever grateful to be on Kate’s street team because her books are AMAZING! When we met Fox in ATIEH I was like a blonde broody man? That’s my man. And I was right. Dear god do I love this man. The chemistry between Fox and Aurelia is SO GOOD. The actual plot line is also great. A poorly planned adventure to a neighboring kingdom? It goes as well as you’d expect. This was so fun and is easily my favorite in the series!

Kate outdid herself with this one! Five stars, all the way.

The Enchanted Legacies series is a favorite of mine, and it gets better and better with every book. I've wanted Aurelia and Fox's story since I connected the clues that something was going on between them behind closed doors. Kate edged readers for months with teaser scenes, quotes, and phenomenal character art. A Hunger in Every Heart lived up to my expectations and then some, rising to claim the top spot in this series! Fox is my kind of MMC: tall, quiet, and broody.

Fox may be a man of few words, but when he speaks to Aurelia, damn, there's so much unspoken meaning behind what he says, much of which she cannot understand due to his secret-keeping. Too bad so much is lost in translation due to his fears. He’s good at internalizing his thoughts and feelings due to his upbringing. There's just something about Aurelia that gets under his skin, in a good way, tempting him to open up and allow her in. Watching his character shift and change throughout this book was everything, because I just knew a big heart lived beneath his silent demeanor, just waiting to love and be loved.

Aurelia was hidden away for most of her life to keep her safe from her father, the king. Now that he's dead and her uncle is on the throne, her life is changing at a rapid pace. She develops an unexpected connection with Fox, and together, they set the night on fire. They’re total opposites in many ways. While Aurelia's bubbly and chatty, Fox is quiet and broody. She's yin to his yang, and they perfectly balance one another. At first, she denies that there may be something more than a physical attraction developing between them, but she can't keep lying to herself. However, Fox has a dark and troubled past, one he doesn't want Aurelia to be touched by, so he'll do whatever he can to protect her, even if it means fighting his desires and keeping the relationship surface-level, putting emotional distance between them.

A nurturer at heart, Aurelia will always do everything within her power to heal and help others. Throughout AHIEH, Aurelia grows and matures so much. Not only does she learn to defend herself, but decides it’s time to finally leave the only home she’s ever known to travel to Thermia to see the rainbow of lights that paint the sky on her birthday every year. What starts as a solo journey to independence and self-discovery becomes so much more since Fox won’t let her make the dangerous trek without him.

Will Fox allow Aurelia closer, opening his heart and confessing his deepest, darkest secrets and fears, or will he push her away permanently, leaving himself alone in the darkness with regrets? What awaits Aurelia in Thermia?

This book had me squealing one moment and pacing the next! Oh, and the romance? Let’s just say the word H-O-T doesn’t do it justice. Fox and Aurelia are my top Enchanted Legacies couple, and it will be hard for anyone to dethrone them!

Kate continues the fun Enchanted Legacies series. Each book has been great and features a new retelling with these great characters. I was very excited to read this book as Aurelia and Fox seemed like a couple that wouldn’t really make sense, but they were great.

Honestly the storyline was kind of non existent. I think book 2 had more of a compelling story and plot, but this one had a really great dynamic between the MCs. The yearning, the back and forth, their dynamic etc was all great. Kate didn’t go in slow with the spice and how their relationship developed. This had a lot of tropes I love and it was an easy read. The spice and relationship though was dayuuuum. The best of the 3 couples so far. Much like book 2 though all the lead up to the ending and it finished so abruptly and really quickly. I notice Kate does that quite a bit. Kind of has all this build up to the big bad of each story and it’s over really quick and then the two MCs figure out what they want to do for the future a little too quickly. I had a couple of questions at the end that were left unanswered. But I continue to enjoy this series and am very keen on the last book in the series which I feel like is being set up as a MMF why choose? 🤞🏽🤞🏽

A Hunger in Every Heart
Rating: 4⭐️
Spice: 2-2.5🌶️

This was my first book by Kate and it definitely won’t be my last! It’s technically the third in the series, but she came through with a summary of the first two books at the beginning (totally optional), and it made jumping in so easy.
I loved Aurelia! She’s feisty, determined, and her inner monologue was honestly such a fun time. Ugh, I’m a sucker for the grumpy, strong and silent type and Fox sure delivered.

The wolf pack dynamic added so much to the story and the situationship between Fox and Aurelia had me hooked. The plot twists?! I was absolutely here for every single one.

The ending seemed too rushed and I just wish there was a little more there.

If you’re in the mood for a fae + shifter love story, definitely add A Hunger in Every Heart to your list!

Thanks so much for this ARC! This is my favorite book from the series every single one just pulls me in even more! I love a book with shifters so I was already excited for that dynamic! Getting to explore more of the world Kate has created was also fantastic. This story is hot and heavy at the beginning and then the emotional connection we get to see develop over time. I loved that dynamic and it made a lot of sense for both of these characters due to the outside circumstances impacting both of them! 10/10 recommend!

So cute

I started this one not really knowing how I felt about it. It definitely took until the half way mark for me to really get into the book but it was really good and super cute. I will say the ending was sort of lackluster with the meeting of her family and breaking the curse (like 8 chapters to start and wrap it up feels criminal). I just wanted more story than what was given but I do like her and Fox's relationship.

A repunzel retelling but with some fun twists. He’s part shift and part fae, and he’s fallen for her no matter what he actually tells her.

She’s strong and powerful, but wants to go on this adventure to find her family. She doesn’t realize he’s behind her watching her keeping her safe.

Let’s also not forget their travel companion, Eugene. He’s a squirrel!

Endlessly impressed with Kate’s characters and the MAGIC that is the world of Ellender. I dare say this was her best couple yet! Hunger is a mashup of Rapunzel/Tangled & Little Red Riding Hood & I love how Kate’s retellings pay homage to the fairytale they are influenced by while also being entirely their own story. Aurelia is a breath of fresh air & such a relatable character for me with her naive nature and talkative, high energy personality. And Fox is a broody blond wolf shifter who was raised to hate magic. Insert Aurelia, the powerful magic weilding witch who catches his attention…she grew up alone in her tower with only her squirrel companion, Eugene to talk to. I love all the lore from both fairytales & the quippy banter and tension all the way through. These two have such chemistry right from the start & I couldn’t wait to read their love story after snippets of them in first two books & holiday novella. They form a purely sexual secret relationship at the start and quickly realizing they find comfort in each other’s company as they quest through the forests to find answers in Thermia. Fox🫠 gosh this mans bedroom praise and dirty talk is unmatched!! The plot weaves together so well and continues to open up the world even more for future books. This series is criminally underrated!! I have the best time!

✔️dual pov 1st person but his doesn't start till chapter 9 and only like 1/4 of chapters are his POV throughout entire book 😒😒

He pissed me off sooo much with not just talking to her and it was dragged and dragged and dragged and they'd finally look like they're taking step forward and then pull away & back track bs again. I took off a whole star for that. This was my least favorite book of series due to that and it being dragged for almost entire book when shouldn't have at all and would have been much better book and enjoyable to have them happy and together for at least 1/4 of damn book after this mess instead just the literal very end of book🤬. Also them being f buddies for almost 2 years was insane!! I was so excited for their book finally but it really was frustrating af I kept yelling at my book basically 😹😒😬 them being in denial and plain stupid to mate/soul bound clues that were happening to them too was ridic. When he's finally figured it out she still hasn't and literally runs😫😫😫 this would have been a 3 star rating but with them never having convos and one step forward five back bs rollercoaster I just was so exhausted from their behavior it's a 2 star now lowest of series. I adored first book it was 4 star review for me but rest have been 3 stars and nowhere near as good for me🫣. If this didn't have them behaving like idiots for literally entire book pissing me off could have been fun and great bc I love them together but we only got them finally together for like a chapter so at that point couldn't even enjoy and I despise when books pull that.

I wish I loved this book more. There were a lot of parts I did enjoy like Aurelia’s personality and Eugene, the banter, the yearning, and the spice. I enjoyed the wolf pack dynamics, the Rapunzel and Little Red Riding Hood elements, and Jett and Connell.
But there was a bit I had issues with too.
Pacing
The beginning felt very jumbled and bounced over a 2 year period quickly. The middle was long and drawn out with several missed opportunities for additional drama, suspense, and/or tension. The ending was so quick it felt like it was rushed to meet a deadline. The whole adventure was leading to the end conflict but honestly it just fell short.
Story Inconsistency
There were a lot of issues like taking off boots then suddenly having them back on, being naked and then tugging at a waistband in the same scene, falling face first but no description of hitting the ground or catching themselves, being far apart and reaching to touch in the same scene. And towards the end there was a moment when something finally happened. It had a ton of lead up throughout the entire book but then there was such a minimal reaction to it. Typically i have a high tolerance for these types of things but it was pretty rough in this one.
But why?
I felt like a lot just happened with no explanation why. Like why was Fox sent to prison especially when he did the same thing later with zero consequence. There were other circumstances too but I can’t describe them without spoilers.
Thank you to Kate King for the early copy.

Wolf shifter x fae romance? Say less.

Format: eARC

A Hunger in Every Heart ended up being such a fun paranormal romance!!! It ticked a lot of boxes for me: broody blonde MMC, forced proximity, fake mates, and knotting 😏🪢

Even though this is technically book four in the Enchanted Legacy series, it worked really well as a standalone. The author does a great job weaving in the characters’ shared history and explaining the past dynamics between the MCs so new readers don’t feel lost!

The shifter MMC, Fox, and fae FMC, Aurelia, are super likable. What starts out as a casual FWB situation between the two escalates after they’re forced into a situation 👀. Fox and Aurelia’s chemistry carries the story nicely, especially once the fake mate dynamics start 🥵

This Rapunzel/Tangled and Little Red Riding Hood inspired adventure will literally sweep you off your feet. Aurelia is our ‘little witch’ who wants to leave her tower and explore the continent. Fox is out blonde, wolf shifter who trains non-stop and always in his own head. This history that our two characters share started as friends with benefits and went a direction they both felt but never admitted to each other.

The recap at the beginning is-G E N I U S!
And the spice-you don’t have to wait long. Open door, explicit from the beginning (and it get better every scene)

This was amazing! I couldn’t put it down. Solid five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Immediately the author recapped 1) the world these books took place in, 2) who the main characters were from each book, and 3) what each book in the series was about. I thought this was an excellent reminder and set me up for success in fully understanding the current book. Even though I just finished A Storm in Every Heart last week, these recaps and summaries were very helpful!

The first part of the book is spent showing us how the MMC and MFC built their casual relationship and how it slowly morphed into a little bit more. I loved seeing how this happened and how it was super unintentional. They just naturally gravitated towards each other and the relationship slowly changed over time. We readers started to get a more depth about the MMC as the MFC learned more about him. We were learning about the MMC with the MFC, which was cool.

While the MMC and MFC were building their casual intimate relationship, we also got details about all the other characters from the previous books, which I really enjoyed because I loved all the previous books and characters. I especially loved that this book took place after book 1, but before and during book 2 and 2.5, and then continued on after book 2 to create its own timeline. It was really fun to see Odessa and Kas before they figured out who they were to each other and the bond that they had.

Of note, if you read this as a standalone, I could see how readers would say that multiple pieces of the story were just told to them and they were not shown. One example: Chapter 7 starts with sharing that the rescue mission was successful. No in-depth details were given about that rescue mission. The novella, book 2.5, is all about that specific rescue mission. So, yes, although you were just told about events in this book, there is a whole book where you were shown the rescue. This is just one example where we were told how things went because books 1, 2, and 2.5 actually showed us what happened (eg., Kas and Odessa finding their bond). Since I have read all previous books, I appreciated that Kate didnt repeat the same details when you can go read the book to get the details.

Other notes I took while reading:

As the MMC and MMC continued their casual relationship, they grew closer. I loved this scene when the MMC and MFC are going back-and-forth at the breakfast table about the rabbit. The MFC had forgotten that others were around and everyone was not used to the casualness between the two. Jett’s eyes going back and forth 👀 between them. This made me smile 😊

Oh my, Kate wrote such a devastating part of the story where I wanted to tear up. I’m not a cryer, but I definitely got close to it. This was around the 23% mark. I could feel both the MMC and MFC‘s emotions.

We get the bomb dropped at 25% that propelled the plot forward and to expand beyond the MC’s relationship.

I loved the mystery around the MMC. We didn’t know why he pushed the MFC away or what happened with his ex fun buddy that got him in prison. Or why he didn’t like magic. Or why he did not talk. All these questions and thoughts were answered!

I am loving that the author writes these strong women who are diverse and not scared of their sexuality! 🙌 This genre is filled with scared, intimidated, inexperienced women who are so shy. Those MFC’s are great, but make up a bulk of the women. This series and book includes women who are who they are and not shy about that!

Also, this MFC was unapologetically herself. She had her goals and wasn’t going to stop pursuing them for a man. She stood up for herself, no matter who was around and didn’t back down from a fight. She was willing to learn and grow, she persisted in the face of adversity, and she stood up for those who did not have a voice (animals). The MFC was honest and vulnerable about her feelings, always willing to put herself on the line. I appreciated the realness of her. During all of this, she was kind, compassionate, and thoughtful.

Our MMC was also kind and thoughtful, always willing to protect others. I enjoyed the change up in who was the one pushing the other away. For example, the last book the MFC was the one with the secrets to protect the MMC and pushed the MMC away. Here, the MMC was the hiding information to protect the MFC and pushed the MFC away. The MMC was more complex and we got the depth that had been missing about him. He was a beautiful person stuck and unsure of what to do. He was really challenged to grow as a person in this book and I loved it!

The author provided a great rationale for why the MMC held himself back in a relationship with the MFC. It made sense and was something that was resolved. I don’t enjoy books where the rationale is weak or doesn’t make sense. Again, Kate did a great job creating a rationale that was clear, and showed us how that rational affected more than just pie MCs.

The pacing is moderate to slow. This helped develop the complex relationship between the MCs. We learned more about the MMC’s past, the MFC’s background, and the wolves that were soldiers and stuck where they were. The pacing really picked up at the ending.

The epilogue gave details about our MCs from book one. I loved that!!

**Received this book as an ARC for an honest review**

"I usually prefer silence. I never thought I would find someone whose voice I wanted to hear."

I keep saying with every new book in this series that it is my favorite... So to stick to tradition and the absolute magical wild ride that is Aurelia and Fox's story, this is definitely my favorite.

By now we have met Aurelia in the other books, but she's still a bit of a mystery, as is our favorite grumpy guy Fox.

Aurelia is technically royalty, but she likes her life as it is; she's really gifted with magic and potions and helping her animal friends in need. So when her birthday comes around and she and Beatrix watch the lights in the sky, she's reminded that she always wanted to travel to see more of the continent. So maybe now is the right time.

Fox, who is the captain of the guards for the king and queen of Vernallis, is quiet and mostly keeps to himself. He's a skillful fighter, and despite never talking unless absolutely necessary, he's very vocal in other situations where Aurelia is on the receiving end of the words he so easily whispers to her in the dead of night.

For two years they have been meeting up in secret, until Aurelia decides to travel to Thermia to potentially learn more about her family, only to find Fox not too far behind.

What should be a trip to hopefully meet the mysterious queen turns into far more than they both bargained for when running into old friends and finding themselves in trouble in a part of the continent that isn't too kind to magic, even the kind that Aurelia uses to help others.

The balance of magic, emotion, adventure, spice, and action is so well done that it was near impossible to put this book down.

I always have so many expectations for the beauty that Kate Kind manages to come up with and every time she manages to exceed them phenomenally.

4.5 ⭐️ I enjoyed this book so much that I've been thinking about it days later. This was such a fun and easy read and perfect for anyone looking for a romantasy and paranormal romance where there is a good balance between romance, plot, spice and world-building. In this book, we follow Aurelia - a Fae- and Fox - half Fae, half shifter -, two years into their friends-with-benefits relationship, as they confront the consequences of this relationship and their feelings towards it and each other. Aurelia has a deep longing to go on an adventure and Fox just can't let her go alone in case of danger. During this journey, they learn a lot about themselves, each other and what plagues the Kingdom of Thermia. While ordinarily starting a book with an emerging relationship might make you think you won't feel the chemistry or tension, this was not like that at all. As Fox and Aurelia's relationship develops, you can feel their yearning and longing to be with each other despite the circumstances. I honestly adored the way their relationship developed and progressed, especially as you could tell how well they fit together. Aurelia was the perfect sunshine to Fox's grumpy and you can't help but fall in love with the characters. There's even the cutest squirrel companion who you want to protect at all costs as well as root for all the side characters (who have their own books that are interconnected standalones in this series). I am so intrigued by Jett and Connell, so I am really excited for their own book (or books?). Anyway, if you're looking for a good romantasy with great characters, romance and spice and easy-to-follow plot, then this is for you!

Thank you so much to Kate King for the ARC in exchange for an honest review ❤️‍🔥

This was a super cute Romantasy with minimal stress. I wanna say like medium stakes because yes there was a bit of magical story conflict but it was resolved quickly.
It honestly moves a little slow plot wise so it has a bit of a cozier vibe.
Aurelia is a half royal who has always wanted to go on adventures, and Fox is a commander who teaches her how to sword fight.
They end up hooking up...for 2 years, then when she wants more we find out there's some magical reason Fox can't give her that. Makes the spice go from fast burn to slow burn.
Finally Aurelia goes on her big adventure, only to be followed by Fox, and end up staying in the Wolf camp he grew up in while pretending to be mates. Lots of TENSION there!
It was enjoyable, fun, and made me laugh right out a few times. The only thing I didn't like was the constant extreme miscommunication, and that when the knotting finally happened it felt kinda skimmed over.

Thank so much to the author for the ARC!!!

Kate has done it again! This series is one of my absolute favourites, and Hunger is once again a 5 star addition to it! I completely devoured this book and enjoyed every second of it. Fox and Aurelia’s relationship was just perfect. While they’ve been friends with benefits for quite awhile, this one is definitely still a slow burn when it comes to emotional intimacy. The physical relationship is there from the start and hot as ever, but the emotional connection and acceptance of feelings takes much longer.

I loved the pack dynamics in this book. I haven’t read a lot of shifter books yet, so I enjoy every time I get to read a new one and learn more about them. I really liked that it added a new group to the world besides the fae. It really felt like it expanded the world, and I enjoyed learning the differences and surprising similarities between the two.

These two characters sparked off of each other so well. They’re the epitome of grumpy/sunshine, and he is soft only for her. Fox is broody and quiet, and Aurelia is sassy, talkative, and curious about everything. The tension and yearning between these two was *chef’s kiss*.

Every book in this series is inspired by fairytales/classic stories and this one is no exception. This time we have Tangled meets Little Red Riding Hood, and the vibes are PERFECT. Also I’m so incredibly happy we got more Jett and Connell in this one, and if I don’t get their story soon I might actually perish. I’ve loved Connell since the moment we met him, and every time I see him and Jett interact I’m reminded how badly I need them to take centre stage. We got multiple hints of something more during the book, and I can’t wait to see it play out!

I looove a Friends-with-Benefits to Lovers trope and at its core this book is absolutely that! It's something about the way the friendship grows and the feelings that get caught. This book does a fantastic job of embracing that trope!

Aurelia is the perfect quirky FMC. She's kind of got a manic pixie dream girl thing going on. She loves to rescue animals and go on adventures and practice her magic and push herself to accomplish new things. The relationship between Fox and Aurelia basically starts because of Aurelia dragging him into her shenanigans but I think he secretly loves how crazy she is and I love that about them.

Fox is a quiet and secretive guy but I love how he acts and reacts to Aurelia. It's like she breaks cracks in his facade. With all the brooding he's got all these secrets too and you can't help but be obsessed with him!

This story follows these two on an adventure filled with magic and curses and shifts and more! And of course there's a ton of spice along with bonds and mates and wings and knotting. So good. And Aurelia has a squirrel sidekick named Eugene which is absolutely perfect.

Kate King does an AMAZING job at weaving and twisting classic fairytales into a unique story experience. I love this series so much and I hope she keeps writing these books for a while.

Thank you to Kate King for the advanced copy!

I loved these two so much and even though this is a Romantasy, I feel like both these characters represent real life people so incredibly well. Fox is so smart and in a way almost too smart where he doesn’t enjoy listening to people talk about non sense or being a part of pointless conversations.

And then on the flip side we have Aurelia who is perfectly content talking to herself (or her pet squirrel 🐿️) she’s literally just a girl who loves nature, animals and books.

I love the way the timeline of this book moved so smoothly. I also love the side characters! in this one specifically Connell was such a comedic relief. every time he was on the run I imagined the Jack Sparrow run across the sand and I was giggling to myself.

Lastly and probably my favorite thing that Kate does in her books, she always has me on my toes and she always surprises me with a little plot twist. Every time I think I know what’s going on and what’s about to happen, there’s something else in there that keeps me going! All the way until the very end. I also really love the full circle moment from the beginning to the end with Aurelia being able to use her hands in self defense.

When I say I want fairytales but make them spicy. This is exactly what I want.

I love retellings and am always amazed at how creative authors can be in writing new ways to deliver the same story as others have. Author Kate King has done this in her Enchanted Legacies Series. From Beauty and the Beast meets Anastasia, Little Mermaid meets the Princess Bride, and now Rapunzel meets Little Red Riding Hood.

I was all over this one because Fox is a half-fae and half-wolf shifter. Yes, his name is Fox, and he’s a wolf shifter. There’s a story behind it, and readers will find out why his name is Fox. But I loved how Kate King incorporated influences of the fae, shifters, the story of Rapunzel, and Red Riding Hood without reinventing the wheel. Weaving in elements of the territories and the tyrannical ruler added excitement and relatability to the plot, which I very much enjoyed.

The plot also had lots of spice scenes—there was no shortage of that! Kate King writes the type of romantasy stories that I enjoy. They are fast-paced, exciting, with great dialogue, a hearty plot, and great spice. I enjoyed this one.

Thank you to Author Kate King for the gifted e-copy. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This book deserves all the stars!!!

I’m going to be honest, fairytale retellings were never my thing, but Kate King has proven me wrong time and time again with this series.

The way she intricately weaves pieces of fairytale into her stories yet the world, characters, and events are completely unique is outstanding. I can’t get enough of Ellender and our heroes.

I’ve been waiting for Aurelia and Fox’s story for some time… who doesn’t love a good werewolf story!?! This book delivered so hard! I couldn’t put it down! It was so cool to get a little bit of a recap of earlier stories from Aurelia’s POV too. It was the perfect way to catch up on events.

Aurelia is one of the sweetest and most selfless characters you’ll ever meet and her love of animals is unmatched. And Fox, omg that man is exclusively sinful and mysterious!

He stole my heart and when they traveled to Thermia the story truly began! There was so much pain and heartbreak in Fox’s past that we were unaware of! I just wanted to cuddle him and tell him everything would be ok!

And the ending, ahh 😱 I was not expecting the twist at the end but it was so good!!
