Crimson Sin

He didn’t ask for my name.
He told me I was his.

One night. That’s all it took. A stolen kiss that turned into a deal with the devil himself.
Daniil Zorin—cold-eyed heir to the Chicago Bratva. Ruthless. Merciless. The kind of man who takes what he wants…and what he wanted was me.

He offered me a bargain soaked in danger.
Be his wife for a weekend. Wear his ring. Play the part.
In return, he’d bankroll the dream I was too desperate to give up.

I told myself it was fake. That I could survive him and walk away untouched.
But nothing about Daniil is fake.
Not the way his touch brands me.
Not the lies he whispers that feel too much like truth.
Not the danger that stalks us both the moment I become his bride.

And then two pink lines destroy every illusion.
Now I’m not just a pawn in his deadly game—I’m carrying his secret.
The Bratva is at war. Enemies are circling. And I’ve become the weakness they’ll exploit.
But Daniil Zorin doesn’t do weaknesses.
He does obsession. Possession.
He’ll burn Chicago to ash before he lets anyone take me—or our child—away.

He swore I could walk away.
But in the Bratva, there’s no such thing as escape.
Not from his kiss.
Not from his vow.
Not from the ruthless man who has already I am his forever.

Dark. Addictive. Explosive. Zorin Bratva Book One is a full-length mafia romance with a fake marriage, a possessive anti-hero, and a heroine who learns the hard way that some bargains can never be broken.

One mistake bound me to him. One click will bind you too. Dare to enter Daniil’s world—and don’t expect to leave.

The story was enticing, not as predictable as so many are. What I found most intriguing was the style of writing. It was intentional, very pensive, and gave deep insight into the main characters. There were times when those very meticulously written sections became too drawn out and lacked needed interaction between the characters to keep the reader enthused.

Soooo you know when someone’s speaking and it feels like they’re using ‘bigger’ word than necessary for seemingly no reason ? Well that whole duet was just that all along.
It really felt like the sentences’ structure were made more elaborated than necessary. Just to make us think ‘waoh you see the way they’re speaking? They’re so smart and mysterious’

Don’t get me wrong, I know that anti intellectualism is on the rise and we’re in desperate need of improving our vocabulary. But here it wasn’t well brought, it just made the character feel incredibly pompous rather than educated. And all that redundancy about the FMC being so smart and quick witted that she understands the smallest intricacies almost immediately? Yeaaaah count me out 🫩

I think there’s a delicate line between elaborated writing which add depth, value to a story and elaborated writing used to make the character look way more important and interesting than they are. I’ll let you guess which side of the line this book’s writing was standing on.

I wouldn’t be able to tell you how much I loved the character or anything, because the writing brought me so much out of it that I wasn’t able to appreciate the characters, plot or really anything.

I still read the whole duet because, well, I like to hurt myself that way it seems. It wasn’t atrocious but it truly wasn’t the best at all, but thanks to the author for the hard work regardless.

Phew this was one hot read I read with greed . This book started as it meant to go on ,full of suspense that had me undone . Chicago Bratva Daniil Zorin is ruthless and hot and sin ,a mistaken identity has a fly trapped in a spiderweb. Naomi is an innocent until she meets a man not knowing his background at all. He wants it all and he plans to have her for his wife… at least his fake one to start…Straight up my street and this by Kat Steele is neat a real raw treat. Daniil Zorin and Naomi are mighty stormy . One night that changed everything. She met ,didn’t know who he was . But of course he gets what he wants. Does she ? Well you see ,they make a bargain ,she fake wife for him she takes what she needs to, a deal with the devil this sure is . A pawn in the game of sin . She’s all in and then there’s book two to continue on. I love everything about these books ,the stories Kat Steele weaves are hot deliciousness and a real gritty suspenseful story to boot. There’s no substitute for perfection when you’re writing an erection section.

Crimson Sin is book 1 in the Zorin Bratva series. Daniil Zorin and Naomi Carter. A case of mistaken identity, a mistake that changes the course of Naomi and Daniil's lives forever. This author continues to bring intriguing, intense, compelling stories book after book. The Pakhan and a complete stranger, together they steam up the pages and by the end Daniil is going to burn the world to find what belongs to him. Of course Crimson Sin ends on a cliffhanger and their journey continues in Crimson Curse. You don't want to miss this fantastic duet!

This book was too hot and intense, and it was a page turner, and the suspense was OMG, as I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn't even put it down. The book cover was eye candy, and it caught my attention and these two characters will suck you right into their lives. Daniil and Naomi romance was forbidden with all the emotional of drama. With a hit of twisted and turns of the emotional connected that they share to be married one day but was she in love with him or was he captivating with her beauty with hint of danger and passion, but they couldn't even fight the temptation any longer in this moment. I highly recommend this book, and you won't be disappointed. I received advance copy of this book via Bookfunnel and am voluntarily leaving my honest review. Trina Jones

Naomi works at a museum where she's a curator and she's trying to fund and exhibit she's trying to open. She's tried several times to get funding but couldn't find any and still finally decided to try the Zoran Group one more time. When Daniil, the owner, first saw Naomi, he was instantly attracted to her but tasked his assistant with dealing with her. He somehow finds a way to find an excuse to find a project for them to work on together. Will she take Naomi's ideas or does he still see her as just something temporary?

This One Was Just Meh

I read this out of genuine curiosity as to what happens with Naomi after the fake marriage weekend. But I felt no connection with the characters at all. They just didn’t have any depth.
This style of writing is not my favorite either. It focuses a lot on describing things and less on interactions and conversations with characters. Many of the descriptions followed the same pattern like - his office smelled like leather and secrets. That pattern became repetitious and got old fast.

I won’t be reading book 2.

Spoilers. Ends in a cliffhanger.

I like Naomi for the most part. Daniil and Naomi have good chemistry. There is suspense, action, and steamy scenes. I got disappointed when Naomi decided to run away with help from her best friend. Naomi stayed in Chicago. If she were that desperate to get away , she should have gone away as far as she could. She had a new identity. This is why I will not read the next book.

This book takes off from the first page. Naomi definitely got more than she bargained for when she agreed to marry Zorin in this action-packed story. The twists and turns not to mention their romantic encounters had me glued to the pages from start to finish.
I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book.

I would’ve given this book for stars however it’s a duet. I wasn’t aware that it was a duet until I finished this book. It made me very angry. I hate when I don’t know ahead of time that it’s not a complete book.
