The one he wants is the only one he can't control.
Ravi
When my parents were killed 4 years ago, I went to live with Liam.
For 2 years, I’ve been in love with him.
I’ve also hated him nearly that long.
He’s overbearing, controlling, and lately he tracks my every move.
I can’t take it anymore.
I’ve saved some cash working as a companionship escort, but it’s not enough to escape.
I decide to auction myself off. It’ll give me the money I need to leave this town—and Liam—in my past.
Except nothing goes to plan, and my escape goes up in smoke.
Liam
I’m not a good man. I’m certainly not one who should be charged with someone else's care.
But I promised my friend—Ravi’s safety is my priority.
Even if I’m protecting him from me.
But the more I work to keep him out of danger, the harder he rebels.
The harder he rebels, the harsher my punishments.
Then I discover his ridiculous, harebrained auction plan.
If I can’t stop the auction, I have little choice.
Ravi will not become a stranger’s plaything.
Not while I have a plan of my own.
Guardian is a dark MM, enemies-to-lovers, kink awakening romance featuring a tortured hero who’s met his match in the sunshiny male escort he’s been charged with protecting. This story also contains consensual non-monogamy (after all, sharing is caring).
Reader discretion is advised. This book definitely contains some subject matter which will not be to some readers' tastes.
I just love Ravi so much. He's such a sensitive soul but has such a wild, k!nky side that you'd never expect! This book took you on the roller coaster that is Ravi and you got to see him totally come into his own. He starts off reserved and quiet and naive and ends strong willed, intentional, and not afraid to speak his mind. I love his love for animals and victims and his hatred for bad guys. As always with this series, the character development is superb and the plot keeps you hooked!
4.5 stars. After Ravi’s parents were murdered when he was sixteen, he lived with Liam. Liam is a former military, he runs a company that ends bad people. He’s over-controlling and obsessed with keeping Ravi safe. Ravi is nineteen now, an escort, and Liam acts as if he’s still a kid.
Ravi offered himself to Liam, telling him he could be his Daddy. Liam distances himself even more, but follows Ravi every step, day and night, controlling his life. Ravi is a brat, and he’s done with Liam. After Liam rejected him, he wanted to leave town and leave Liam behind. Ravi needs money, this way, he can escape Liam, leave town, and start somewhere else. To gain that money, he offered his boss to auction his virginity, he was promised a LOT of money.
Liam is outrageous (nothing new), Ravi is his, to protect of course, nothing else, noooo! Oh man, open your eyes!
His boss puts Ravi in a luxury hotel, with a big bodyguard, away from predators. There are threats, people who want Ravi, outside the auction. There are people who, when they get their hands on Ravi, could destroy him. Ravi’s friends are warning him.
I won’t spoil what follows, read it yourself. The story is widely written, there are a lot of things happening, and in the middle of all these events, we have Ravi and Liam. Are they destined to live separately or not? Pss, it’s also a romance, that should say something right? But it’s not simple, there’s a lot of struggle.
The whole story was entertaining, there’s a lot of pining. It’s a dark read, and quite rough at times. There’s a kinky side to this story, I would have loved even more of it. There are quite a few side characters, and I’m not good with that. For me, too many characters in a story is too much; my head can’t handle it, so I gave up trying to understand who was who. I knew the most important characters, so I’m still good. Overall, a well-written story, that was super entertaining.
Yessss finally Ravi’s story first time I read a ma auctioning off his v card but I’m glad he got someone he knew already who would have done anything for him. Out the escorts Ravi is one of my favorites. I can’t wait to see what’s next!
Well, this was definitely my least favorite of the series so far unfortunately. I’m a little bummed because I loved Ravi so much. He was such a sweetie pie, and I just feel like honestly Liam wasn’t good enough or wasn’t willing to give enough of himself to Ravi to be the man he deserved.
Also, I definitely feel like this series needs to be read in order at this point. There is an overarching plot that, pieces get wrapped up each book, but the overall picture would probably be confusing coming into it this late without the background information.
So I really liked Ravi, but this didn’t feel like a romance to me. More like exploration of his kinks, and fantasy fulfillment maybe? He essentially idolized Liam and had him on this pedestal and honestly accepted some terrible treatment.
Liam was overprotective and possessive which normally I eat up, but I need to feel the love too! Which I just never really did from Liam. The lack of aftercare after some intense and vulnerable moments and first times was very upsetting too.
I looooove a grump who’s only soft for their person. But Liam was pretty much an asshole from day 1 and that never changed. He was shitty to Ravi, and Ravi even said he wanted groveling like in the books he reads, but he got the barest minimum from Liam.
Everything Liam said just started to feel manipulative and borderline gaslighting to me eventually.
The love declarations were subpar . . . I just feel like poor, sweet Ravi settled for scraps from Liam because he thought Liam was it for him.
Idk I’m just sad for Ravi. He deserved more. The ending felt a bit rushed. They went through a lot in the span of like 2 chapters. I would have liked to see more of their conversations about everything they glossed over. I’m not sure how they would last together long term.
I do love the found family in this group of escorts. They have each other's backs always, no matter what. The scenes where they’re all together hanging out in this book were my favorite parts. Which speaks to how much I didn’t care for Liam and when he was with Ravi.
Also, was the book that kept getting mentioned a real book?? No clue if it was real or not, but it kept getting brought up to the point it was pulling me from the story.
Even though this wasn’t a favorite, I have enjoyed the series so far and the suspense and crime plots. I’m interested in some of the other hinted at couples too. Michael and Dean 👀 I need to know what’s going on there, and if they’ll end up together.
Even though I don’t read a whole lot of poly relationships, I am interested in the next book and will continue the series. Adam and Troy have an interesting dynamic, and I’m looking forward to seeing their relationship evolve with Westy (iykyk)

I received an ARC of this book, and this is my honest and voluntary review.
4.5 stars This has been an interesting series so far, and I was especially looking forward to Ravi and Liam’s book. Ravi is 19, working as a male escort, but only in a non-sexual way. Ravi is still a virgin because Liam, 41, the man who has been his guardian and protector for almost 4 years, will not accept that Ravi wants a relationship with him, so Ravi comes up with the hair-brained scheme of letting his virginity be auctioned off to the highest bidder, taking the money and leaving town to get away from Liam. The situation with Liam is complicated, tied to past history and events which have left him weighed down with guilt, including the guilt he feels in his desire for Ravi. When Liam finds out, he does everything in his power to stop the auction from happening, finally resorting to desperate measures.
Running alongside the story of Ravi trying to break down Liam’s stubbornness is the number of young people going missing through a human trafficking ring operating in the city. Liam is dedicated to tracking down those responsible, gathering more information, then ending those he has caught before he goes after the next in line. Always concerned for Ravi’s safety, Liam tries to warn Ravi of the foolishness of the auction scheme and the chances for something to go wrong, but in typical 19 year old fashion, Ravi ignores the warnings, until suddenly it isn’t so far fetched.
The group of young sex workers who are friends with Ravi are a constant throughout the books, supporting each other and having each other’s backs. They also try to dissuade Ravi from his auction scheme, but are no more successful than Liam, eventually doing what they can to support him as the time approaches. Ravi is headstrong, a bit of a brat, impulsive at times, but desperate to get away from Liam if he can’t be with him in the way he wants, willing to follow through on the auction even though he has second thoughts. He is one of my favorite characters in this series.
I did find myself getting a bit frustrated with Liam’s angst over his feelings for Ravi, mixing thoughts of guilt, his age, the guardian/protector role he assumed when Ravi’s parents were killed, and the feeling of not being a good person, the kind that Ravi deserved. He was unwavering in trying to shut Ravi down, and Ravi was just as unwavering in his hope that Liam would eventually relent, until he finally realized that was not likely to happen, so planned for the worst. But these two were meant to be together, and it did come about in a rather convoluted manner.
The trafficking ring has still not been shut down, despite several of those involved being captured and removed by Liam and his crew, but there is still at least one big bad out there. In book 4, Wes, a minor character previously, will apparently become involved with Adam and Troy, two of Ravi’s escort friends, as the hunt for the traffickers continues, so I expect we will see more of Liam and Ravi to come.
I received an ARC from the author, and this is my voluntary review.
My heart was in my mouth I must admit I was really looking forward to Ravi‘s story. The way that he flies into danger without thinking about himself. He is a lovely man he’s 19 and sadly his parents were murdered when he was 16 and that’s when he went to live with Liam. We’ve met Liam in previous books he worked for Sebastian. You see Liam is a very unique person. He is looking into cases of missing people and in that he became aware of a trafficking ring. Javi is in college, even though Liam pays for his college he’s also working as a Gogo dancer with his friends of escorts. These brilliant people are his family. Javi has an idea that he can sell the fact that he is a virgin. And he comes up with an idea of being Auctioned. You see he’s been in love with Liam for years and when he was 18, he decided to climb in bed with Liam and this is when their relationship totally changed because Liam turned him down. So if he can’t have the Man he wants he might as well get the money and leave because being around Liam is just too much. Liam is fully aware that Ravi is leaving through the window of his bedroom. But Liam had already thought of this and put a tracker in his watch so he always knew where Ravi was and this is what Ravi had a problem with. He didn’t want him to protect him. He wanted Liam to love him but Liam has a kink that he doesn’t think Ravi will be into. Also Liam‘s company isn’t always straightforward. You see to get evidence you sometimes need to torture people and sometimes they die and he didn’t see how Ravi would find that okay. And also Ravi‘s parents were really good friends of Liam so it’s like a catch 22. But when he hears about the auction, he loses his mind. That’s all I’m gonna tell you because there’s so much going on in this book. It is just crazy and I was on the edge of my seat. My heart was in my mouth for Ravi. I could see the dangers all around him where he is such an innocent sweet young man that he doesn’t see the ugliness of the world. But he’s about too, can Liam be there for him?? And of course the escorts are always around if he needs help. Such a unique group of guys and girls, but they’ve always got your back. Yes this is a really slow burn. The sexual tension between these two is electric oh my gosh such a brilliant read. This is the third book in the series and I cannot wait for the next Book. Super Excited.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I don’t know what I loved more, the whole book or the epilogue! That epilogue just spiked my anxiety level to a million!
But first, OMFG! Ravi and Liam were pure fire! Granted, Liam frustrated the heck out of me with his indecision about his feelings towards Ravi. His overprotective attitude got on my nerves. I know he made a promise to Ravi’s family to keep him safe but man, he took it too far.
Ravi had only one goal and that was to make Liam his. But when Liam rejects him, he decides to live his life on his own terms. Wanting Liam to be his first was no longer a possibility so why not make money off his virginity? If Liam couldn’t see him as an adult, someone else would.
But things were never so black and white. Ravi was in more danger than he could have predicted. Especially when things escalate to the point where Liam has to interfere.
In order to save Ravi, Liam decides to be the one to buy him at the auction. But things don’t work out the way Ravi wants. Liam still doesn’t see him as a man and that just infuriates Ravi further.
Ravi is tired of being rejected by Liam and decides that leaving would be the better option, even though he can tell Liam wants him. But Ravi can’t just go. His love for Liam is too strong and he has to try one more time to make the stubborn man admit he loves him too.
What happens next is one of the hottest scenes ever. Who knew Ravi would be such a teasing little minx. He used all his seductive powers to bring Liam to his senses and finally admit he loves him as much as Ravi loves him.
My favorite part was Ravi finally letting go of all the pent up anger he had been holding in for so long since losing his parents. He was able to take back some of his power after being in danger more than once.
The two of them working together to punish the bad guys was so freaking sexy. Liam definitely has his hands full with his little twink🤭
I love this series so much. Each book just keeps getting better and better. I’m so excited for Wes, Troy and Adam’s story. I have a feeling we’re gonna have a really good time 😏
Oh. My. God. If you have not read any of Beth’s books, start right now. I read Switch when it came out and I absolutely fell in love with her writing and the way she just brings these characters to life. The way I was sucked into Liam and Ravi’s book made me so hopeful what was going to happen next.
If you’re a fan of age gap with a bit of forbidden romance, this book is for you. Ravi has been in love with Liam, who is his guardian to his parents’ death.
Liam just wants the best but he is so over the top. At one point, he locks him in his room and even manages to do the same for his window where he can’t leave. Man is unhinged and doesn’t think he has feelings for Ravi. Yeah, right.
I just love Ravi so much. He’s so sweet and just wants to be able to spread his wings. There was a certain chapter where he goes after what he wants and man, I was here for that chapter because yes please!
There are so many things in this book where you are in shock, want to cry, want to scream and even go as far as throwing your kindle across the room.
And can we talk about Zed. I need his story so much because he deserves all the love. He’s probably one of the most enjoyable side characters ever. The way he tells Liam how it is, it’s everything for me because Liam needs to hear it.
The found family in this book was everything. I just love how they all are so caring for one another. I loved in the beginning how they got Ravi a smoothie because they were worried about him not eating enough.
The ending… ohmygod. Yes, please! That’s all I’m going to say. And Beth, thanks so much for for letting me dive into your DM’s and voice my man, many feelings throughout this book.
I received a copy of this book and this is my honest review.
Guardian is the third is the series and darkest so far. If you haven’t already read Blackmail and Switch you probably should. Switch, especially introduces us to Liam and Javi. Guardian jumps immediately into action that would likely be lost on the reader.
Please read the trigger warnings. I am a reader that can tolerate certain triggers if I know to expect those subjects.
In the prior installment, Beth Christopher creates Javi as a young, troubled man for whom I can have empathy. Ravi finds himself in the world of male escorts after finding himself under the guardianship of a family friend with a questionable business of his own. At times Javi
Nearly all of the characters are hot, hunky, and ready for action. However, none of the circumstances are terribly believable, but that’s the fun of it. I became easily drawn into the story and found myself fond of characters I would never like outside of the pages. Christopher’s writing follows my own conversational style. This allows the imagination to run wild.
I typically am drawn to more sappy stories but this grey and dark taboo series has be falling in love with the genre. I was laughing, dreading, gasping, and getting worked up at times. The story eases into kink awakening but ends in the more extreme.
I’m ready for the 4th book now.
While I did receiving an advance copy for review, I also pre-ordered a copy. These opinions are my own.
Review for (Belle Argo Escorts-3) Guardian by Beth Christopher
I have really enjoyed this series by Beth Christopher. In the past, I was not big on stories with escorts. But a few authors have shown me it is ok and that they can write it well, and Beth Christopher is one of those who can write it so I was enthralled in this wonderful story from pretty much the beginning. I also have found I'm addicted to stories that have an older MC taking in the younger one when they lose their parents. I loved Ravi & Liam. Ravi has been in love with and hated Liam for several years now and just wanted Liam to see him. Liam tries to control most things that Ravi does in his life. He just can't live this way anymore. So he tries to save money to get away, even auctioning himself off. But will Ravi be able to succeed with this plan? Or will he be taken back in hand by the man he loves and hates? I just couldn't put this story down once I started it. I fell in love with these two men's story. I am a big fan of commanding MCs, kink, and sharing, which I have to say I don't really do. Care for sharing in my stories? It was written well enough for me to get past that in this story. I still am not crazy about it, but there are a few authors who can write it well enough.
Fun read with a bit of mystery, spice, and a mischievous young man driving his former legal guardian and current caretaker absolutely crazy 🫠
After Ravi's parents passed away, he was placed with his father's HS best friend, Liam, under legal guardianship at 16. Nearly four years later, he concocts a chaotic plan to get a lot of money and get away from Liam's overbearingly protective ways. Although Ravi is legally considered an adult, Liam can't stop himself from looking after Ravi. There's no such thing as being too drastic with his methods to keep track of Ravi's comings and goings. When Liam finds out about Ravi's escape plan, well, let's just say he doesn't take it in stride.
Medium angst with a push/pull dynamic that ends in a very satisfying HEA for the MCs. Aside from the main plot of the romance, there's an intriguing mystery carried through from the first two books yet to be solved. Dark romance with some humor, not too heavy with the right amount of chaos. Can't wait for the next book with Westy, Adam, and Troy!
I think these books definitely need to be read in order. We’re introduced to each new couple in the book before, so you miss out on introductions that might leave you confused if you start reading this book. As it gets straight into the nitty-gritty, dark content that is common throughout this series.
Ravi is a lovely character; he’s endearingly good at first but learns to demand respect and voice what he loves. Liam is trying to be rational and not take advantage of Ravi’s youth, but ultimately, he’s too possessive not to fold in the end.
There were parts of the book that had so much build-up and ended up being anticlimactic, like, for example, the auction. But overall, it was a good, gritty, dark story focusing on the sides of society that should gross you out. Trafficking, abuse, and violence.
The books do seem to get better as we go on, and I like that we always get the introduction to the next book. This time, Wes, Troy, and Adam!
…………………………………………………………. I got an ARC from GRR, and this is my honest review.
I received this book as an advanced reader copy and am leaving a review on my own: That moment you realize you are making a mistake, but it is too late to stop the mistake from happening. That is what I envision Liam went through in his mind throughout this book. In this 'forbidden' romance, Ravi and Liam get a hard-fought HEA. There is action, mystery, smut, drama, grump-sunshine, age-gap, and violence in this story (and probably other tropes I'm missing). I enjoyed the banter, the found family, and the thrill (oh, look at that, a trope I missed) of not knowing what would happen next. Ravi was a fun character to watch go through all the emotions of a 19-year-old. Liam, though, was going through the emotions for both of them, worried for both of them in a way that only age and experience can provide. Experience, though, does not always win over want.
This is book three of the Belle Argo Escorts series, and it is dark and SPICY!
Ravi is all grown up and knows what he wants from his guardian Liam, and poor Liam wants to give Ravi exactly what he wants but at the same time he feels guilt over wanting to.
Ravi is going to take matter into his own hands and auction off his virginity to the highest bidder. He'll use that money to get as far away from Liam as he can because he can't stand to be around him anymore if he is not going to get what he wants.
Since he can't stop the auction, Liam decides to bid on Ravi himself. Lawd! This is so hot. So, so hot.
I highly recommend this series. The next is going to be MMM with Wes, Adam and Troy, and I cannot wait. That is going to be another hot one!
I love Ravi! He is sweet, funny, so caring and quiet the kinky boy! I was really looking forward to this and it certainly did not disappoint. This is the 3rd book in the Belle Argo Escorts series and each one just gets better and better!
After Ravi’s parents were killed he is placed with his dad’s friend Liam under Guardianship, after a few years he knows he is in love with him, but Liam pulls away from him. Ravi works as an escort and decides to action himself off so he can have enough money to leave town and Liam. Liam is very controlling he tries to keep Ravi out of danger which makes him rebel even more. When he discovers Ravi’s plan to auction himself off he can’t let that happen risk Ravi being a dangerous strangers plaything.
A really fun read That I couldn’t put down can’t wait for wes, Adam and Troy’s story
Revenge Sex spanking imprisonment as punishment tracking use of restraints on page torture and murder Some dubious consent
Guardian is book three in Beth Christopher’s Belle Argo Escorts series, and I really enjoyed it. The raw emotion and intensity between Ravi and Liam make it nearly impossible to put down.
Packed with chemistry, tension, and just the right amount of chaos, Ravi’s reckless attempt to break free sets off a chain of events that’s messy, daring, and irresistible—forcing Liam to confront his own desires and guilt. Their push-and-pull dynamic is full of longing, sharp tension, and moments that are both raw and unbearably hot.
Dark, bold, and unapologetically spicy, this book is a strong addition to the series which I think is best enjoyed in order for maximum impact. With Guardian, Beth Christopher has firmly cemented her place on my automatic must-read author list.
ARC review I love this series. Usually I choose not to read the darker ones, but this has it all. A good plot, faboules characters, excitement, spicy elements, sweet moments and surprises. The way the author make this book come together is amazing. Ravi is of course mentioned in earlier books and I was so curious about his story. He is such an contradiction. He is sweet, shy and vulnerable and yet he is strong, stubborn and determined. I love the way that Ravi constantly keep Liam on his toes, even if it's not planned. And it makes the read very enjoyable. A dark romance with age gap, some new discovered kinks ending in a happily ever after.
I was so excited for this book and I was not disappointed! The dynamic between Liam and Ravi is volatile and intense and it was exciting to see it all unfold!
We get little glimpses of the previous couples and escorts in this book to which is always fun. The only complaint I have is I wish there had been more of Ravi and Liam actually together. There’s only one full on *scene* and it came from a place of anger (you’ll see what I mean) so I was really hoping for a redo of that but we didn’t get it.
There is a sharing scene in this book, and a pretty large age gap. It looks like Wes, Adam and Troy are up next 😍 I already preordered!
Ravi's parents were killed when he was 13. He was sent to live with his dad's best friend Liam. At 16 Ravi's feelings for Liam were not parental, he was in love. Liam being much older much older & Ravi's guardian dismisses his feelings. Ravi takes it hard. Working for the Escorts, he decides he's going to sell his virginity to the highest bidder to get away from Liam's control as guardian & his own feelings for Liam. Liam is livid. Low to medium angst, HEA, Age Gap. I was offered a copy from GRR & this is my honest opinion.
Beth Christopher writes Javi with so much vulnerability that it’s impossible not to feel for him, even as he’s pulled deeper into a dangerous world. The characters are hot, the drama is wild, and while none of it is exactly realistic, that’s part of what makes it so fun. Liam, steady and intense, balances him perfectly and adds a grounding force that makes their scenes some of the strongest in the book. I was hooked from the start and found myself caring about people I’d never root for in real life. I laughed, cringed, gasped, and couldn’t stop turning pages. If you like intense, emotional, high‑heat stories, this one delivers.
To start off, this series is best to read in order, so don't be like me and start reading book 3 before the others. But if you do, the characters aren't too hard to figure out who is who, as each book follows someone different.
This book was better than I expected. It was low on spice, which is exactly what I want to ready these days. The plot was great, great development.
I really liked how feisty Ravi was, he knew who he wanted and didn’t give up. I liked Liam, he’s the kind of guy you want to come home to, so I’m glad a sweetheart like Ravi got his man. I did feel like I was missing something, but that’s probably because I haven’t had the first two books.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I started the book with a hefty dose of scepticism because the author is unknown to me, a literal black bag with all kinds of surprises but it was so worth the risk. I quickly realized that reading the books in order is the better option, but even that didn't stop me from complete immersion in this captivating, unusual read. I am a little bit hesitant to define this as romance, because for me personally the dynamic between Liam and Ravi isn't romantic in nature - neither in the beginning nor in the end. Both of them crossed so many lines of consent and their feelings for each other are, as far from the classic image of what a couple is,as the Moon from Earth. And that's exactly what makes the book appealing to me. It lacks the standard sweetness, devotion and emotional attachment between two partners. Both characters are interesting and unconventional - Ravi with his recklessness, inclination for rash decisions, lack of maturity and tendency to be chaos incarnate; Liam, being trapped into unwanted guardianship that has reshaped his life and led to feelings, he is reluctant to admit and act on. Significantly older and carrying the guilt of living a second life, while others were robbed of one, Liam has built a life of vigilante, self proclaimed "protector" of Bell Argo, who is trying to keep the streets clean from the scum that brings the plague of dr*gs and human tr*fficking. And when the youth collides with the bitter taste of reality, when rejection, hurt, naivety, regret, and bone deep wariness mix together the result is an emotionally heavy plot, full of unexpected twists and non conventional life choices. The author has not only chosen compelling tropes but implemented them masterfully in a way that they won't be easily forgotten even after the last page.
I liked the premise and really wanted to like the book. It was difficult because one of the leads, Liam, is a monumental A hole for most of it. I get he's a tortured soul but does that mean he has to treat Ravi so badly, by walking away at Ravi's most vulnerable moments? Read it for yourself and see what you think.
Sweet sweet Ravi finally gets to put his extensive research to use. Obviously, there is a lot of push back from Liam, his guardian, and some drama in between but Liam eventually gets there. It was a pretty good story. Not as much intimate scenes as I would liked but it was enjoyable.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Oh, sweet Ravi and his much older protector Liam. I loved this age gap and the possessive and controlling way Liam was while still trying to keep his distance romantically. Good thing we got to watch Ravi grow and give Liam the nudges he needed to give in. Let's just say virgin and auction! This one was a slow burn to a lot of spicy exploration.
This one completely pulled me in. The slow burn was real — every glance, every moment had me waiting for the spark to finally explode. The tension? Delicious. I was hooked and didn’t want to put it down. Huge thanks to Gay Romance Reviews for putting another fantastic read on my radar.
The longing, the angst, the emotions - this book had it all! I was cheering so hard for Ravi and Liam. I loved seeing all the boys again and I love how much the side characters always bring to the story in this series. The push and pull between Ravi and Liam was so good but my only complaint is there weren’t more scenes with them together! This was such a good addition to the series and I can’t wait to read what comes next!
