FUN!
Orange insists that imagination is not merely a childhood faculty, but an enduring artistic and intellectual mode. The collection positions delight as something serious, generative, and even radical in its capacity to deepen how we read, feel, and participate.
Some of the collection’s more experimental choices may elude a casual reading, but for readers attuned to its layered play, visual logic, and collaborative form, Orange offers something rare and deeply rewarding. Not every reader will know what to do with this book, and that is part of its power. For those who meet it on its own terms, it is electric.

Quiñones’s hands have created a delightfully radical and emotionally profound piece for us. I can not wait until to see what they create next for us.

Orange is a formally-ambitious debut that explores the mess & magic of childhood & adolescence. Grounded in color theory and interspersed with familiar artifacts of youth — such as the Magic School Bus, coloring pages, & connect-the-dots — this is a collection that colors outside the lines, asking us to approach each poem as its own unique experience. Just like with color, each person will see these poems a little different, but all will find a book vibrant with life.
