LIAR

Same face, different mask, and he calls me a liar?
Same blood, different parents, and he dares call me his brother?
I am nothing to him. Nothing to anyone. Just someone surviving on a mountain of lies. But I’m not a liar. I feed on lies because I am the only one who knows the truth. The only one who can stop the House of Clowns.

But I refuse to be one of them. I will not be a clown.
I am a ghost, my face painted so they won’t recognize that I’m the same as him—the one who calls himself my brother.

But it’s all lies. A big house of lies.

DOLL

One love. One loss. It’s time to move on.
But how can I? I saw him. I saw his face. I saw his mask. And he doesn’t even remember me. He doesn’t remember anything. And yet, he still haunts me.

Is it the truth? Or is it all a lie?
Or am I just trapped in a dream, inside this house of lies?

“You keep giving everything to people who don’t give two shits about you” “You love everyone so unconditionally, but you never get it back”

House of Lies is absolutely amazing. It has the same atmosphere and feelings as House of Clowns, but this one is much darker.

Doll, a woman who always gives and never receives.
Liar, a man who doesn’t know how is to be loved.
Both er so broken…

I’ve connected deeply with the characters and the story in both books.

If you haven’t read them, you have to. I highly recommend them. Also, A’s writing is absolutely masterful. It keeps you on edge the whole time—you can’t put the book down. There’s constant tension, deep reflections, and… honestly, it’s just brilliant. I loved it and I’m already looking forward to next year to read the third one. With the ending it leaves, I need to know more. Waiting a whole year will be hard, but I’m sure it will be worth it, like all of A’s books.

And I’ll say it again: if you haven’t read these books, read them. And please check the trigger warnings, because it covers topics that can be uncomfortable for some people. It’s better to know what you’re getting into if you need that. For me, for example, I like to go in blind.

“Letter to the lost ones”, the words we all need to hear. The words I needed to hear. Thank you A, xx

Another amazing book 🥰 the same atmosphere but so much darker. The Hunt Trilogy is so good, waiting for the next book.

“I am everything you’ll never be. I am more. And i am someone who will always be free, no matter how hard anyone tried to break my wings”

Such a perfect come back to the circus, @iam_a_em never disappoints, She writes with her soul, in an intense way that makes the reader feel exactly what the characters feel 🤍

It’s cold without you, and quiet too.
I miss the way your touch filled the silence.
But worse than the emptiness you left
Is knowing you’re never coming back.

Where do I even begin? I was already tearing up in the prologue. The fact that a certain someone made several appearances, I was screaming for joy and then destroyed when he didn’t remember, only to be left with an actual wtf look on my face at the end. Talk about the ultimate mind fuck! Chiara is constantly giving everything to people she loves, but none of them care for her. “You can’t keep emptying yourself into people who don’t even notice you’re running dry” this quote resonated with me, I’d give my all to family, friends, significant others hoping I’d get even half of what I gave them only to never receive it, At what point do you have to walk away and choose yourself? She loves the bully but chooses the one not meant for her. Oscar our morally black character he’s a bully, brought up spoiled and never told no, wants what he can’t have (Chiara) she’s Rio’s girl, off limits, but Oscar doesn’t care. He promised to take care of her, keep her safe, but she hurt him, she left him and now he’ll punish his Doll.

Letters to the lost ones absolutely destroyed me, I cried through the whole thing.

"She was broken. That should've made me stop. It didn't. It only made her perfect."

"I will never fix you. And now that I know I can't heal you, at least I can try to save you. Maybe one day you will find whatever it is you're looking for."

House of Lies takes us back to the circus and the wild ride continues. Chiara and Oscar are volatile and combative but also see each other's broken pieces. They both want and need to feel love but neither can let go of the past holding them back in order to let each other in fully. As always, A. Em had me on the edge of my seat and left me dangling off a cliff. I loved being reunited with characters from book one as well as some of her other works. My brain was on overdrive creating a timeline of events as everything was unravelling. There were lots of surprises and heartbreaks and I can't wait to see how this ends.

Another piece of the puzzle to the bigger picture. Chiara really can’t catch a break in this one, it’s like every time she gets a glimmer of happiness the rug gets ripped from under her. I loved all the appearances in this one and trying to put together the timeline of how all these stories connect, and that ending?! I can’t wait to see what happens next 💜💜

Where do I even begin with this? If you have ever read any books by A.em before you know where I am coming from. She is a phenomenal author and the way her books can reach deep inside you and grab onto your heart, squeezing and never letting go is powerful. They stick with you and make you feel everything.
House of Lies grabs you from page 1 and you better hold on because it's a wild ride.

“The ones who may seem weak, but beneath that fragile skin lives a brave woman who is far from a broken doll. She is Anabelle.”

A.em had me tearing up in the first couple pages, in just the prologue!

“I still wait for a phone call that will never come. The silence rings louder every day. Hope is a cruel thing I hold too tight. But letting go feels like losing you again.”

This book was chaotic and traumatic. Our poor girl Chiara, just living on her own trying to navigate how to handle things after serving her time at House of Clowns. She's suffering so much and yet she is still trying to give to everyone else around her.

Then you have Oscar and I still don't know if I like him or hate him! This may be the one character I can't like. Though he hasn't had an easy life and that has shaped him into the liar and the bully that we see come out.

This has got to be one of the worst pairs your going to find. They should stay as far from each other as possible, but do they?

The different things in this book that are just so true to the authors pattern will absolutely knock the wind out of you. They had me sitting there just dumbfounded, yelling at the book how unfair some of the things were. Some of the characters that pop back in that you just want to scream and cry.

All I could do was stare at the end just shook over what happened. Should we have expected it? Yeah probably but it still wasn't right!
Now we have to wait for the next book. All of us are patiently impatient.

If you haven't read this series yet you need to! Just please read the trigger warnings first. They are there for a reason and your mental health matters.

House of Lies by A. Em

2nd book from The Hunt trilogy series

Ps : to understand this book you MUST read the first book "House of Clowns"

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶️🌶️🌶️

I’m honestly still recovering from this book. A. Em has a way of writing that reaches in, squeezes your heart, and doesn’t let go until the very last page. House of Lies didn’t just continue the story — it dragged me deeper into a world that feels darker, sharper, and even more addictive than the first.

Oscar is chaos wrapped in silk. Unstable, entitled, reckless, and so painfully human underneath all that cruelty. He wants what he shouldn’t touch, takes what he’s been told to leave alone, and never pretends to be anything other than what he is. A liar with teeth.

Chiara, fragile and fierce in the same breath, is drowning in grief and still finds ways to care for everyone but herself. Watching her try to hold her world together — even while people take pieces of her without noticing — was devastating and strangely empowering.

Together ?
They’re fire thrown into gasoline.
Too intense, too raw, too broken to make sense — yet somehow perfect in their ruin.

The callbacks in this book made me emotional all over again. The balloon scene resurfacing ?The tattoo addition ? Brilliant. And the unexpected character appearances completely knocked me sideways. I went from cheering to heartbroken to staring at the last chapter like no way.

This sequel carries the same eerie, atmospheric weight as House of Clowns but dives even deeper into the madness. A. Em’s writing is sharp, heartfelt, and impossible to look away from. I was hooked the entire time — every twist, every unhinged moment, every quiet confession.

If you haven’t picked up this series yet, you really should. Just check the trigger warnings first, because this world isn’t gentle. It’s cruel, messy, and unforgettable.

And now the wait for book three is going to be torture — because that ending left my mind spinning.

This book threw me through the loop. There were so many surprises I didnt see coming. Still not sure if they were real or not based on that ending lol. Chiara cant catch a break, I just want to hug her and keep her away from the user's and abusers. And Liar, man hes something else lol. He just wants what hes never had, love. And when you grew up in a house without it you can go one ofa couple ways. One you shut yourself off from all emotion and dont care, or you care with everything you have because you never want anyone to feel what its like to not be loved. Well these 2 are opposites who attract. There's definitely something going on that hasnt been announced yet. It's hard to tell where the lies end and the truth begins. There were moments where I screamed, cried, and my jaw dropped in a wtf actually just happened. This book was spicy when and mouth watering when it happened. The tension was hard to judge. I know she liked it when it happened and craved it but was she just looking to fill a void that was left by Rio or did she really want him after everything? And Chiara is a smart woman but grief does things to a person and changes them. It was filled with suspense not letting you stop until the end which ended on a cliffhanger 😭😭🤣 definitely glad i read House of Clowns also. Because boy would i have been lost 🤣. I love this trilogy so far and cant wait for the last book to finally get the answers I'm sure everyone is asking. But I wont say that hear it will give too much away. You'll just have to read it yourself!! Enjoy!!! READ THE TRIGGERS THERES 3 PAGES!! YOUR MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS!

Might just fall in love with a liar?! You know damn well there was no might about it! And that freakin cliffhangers?! Lol ugh!!!

Okay, so, our FMC, is just like a lot of us…wanting to save the troubled boy that our heart can’t live without. I mean, with the right amount of love we can change them right?

“I hate that the people we want most are the ones we never get.”

@iam_a_em has this way of writing exactly what you need at that perfect moment…every time.

“Sometimes you have to leave the people you love so you can love yourself.”

This story was full of surprises, twists & turns, and lessons learned…I mean, The Circus of The Lost may just be where you’re found after all.

“You love everyone so unconditionally, but you never get it back.”His hand cupped my cheek. “Why?” “That’s all I know,” I said softly. “It makes me feel good… I think.” He sighed, thumb brushing away a tear I hadn’t realized had fallen. “That’s not good enough,” he whispered. “You can’t keep emptying yourself into people who don’t even notice you’re running dry.” 😭😭😭 I read this paragraph time and time again until my eyes were no longer dry…I swear @iam_a_em speaks to your soul…every 👏 time. If you ever need to feel seen, pick up one of her books..

Happy release day, love. Here’s to another phenomenal piece of art 🫶🏻 (I’ll be rocking over here in a corner impatiently waiting for the final book)

*and thank you for my newest mantra too: “I am everything you’ll never be. I am more. And I am someone who will always be free, no matter how hard anyone tries to break my wings.”🥹

🎪 HOUSE OF LIES 🎪 by @iam_a_em

Review

I really don't know where to start with this. Once again @iam_a_em has me speechless.

This follows The House of Clowns and poor Chiara ends up back there again but this time suffering more, she returns not as Ace but as Doll, she becomes the Liars favourite toy.

A.em I don't know how you think of some of the things you do. The trapeze scene had me trying to work out all angles 🤭

When reading A. eMs books I always question my own sanity but I literally eat her books up.

The Liar, he loves in his own weird way, a love that is scary, a love that is pain and a love that would make anyone else run for the hills.
Chiara wants to hate him, she wants to run but her body betrays her. Your body wants, what your body wants and your heart wants what your heart wants.

Did I fall in love with the Liar? No because he scared the hell out of me 😂 but with how this book was left at the end I was thinking Oscar aka The Liar, we need all your craziness right now, you better show up and show these motherf**kers what happens when they touch what is yours!

Once again thank you A.em for letting me be part of your team, for sharing the craziness, the wtf moments and for showing not all Love is hearts, fun and laughter, some love is painful, it's raw, it's about healing and understanding the struggles we can go through the battles and challenges we go through inside out heads!

I honestly don’t even know where to start with this one.

House of Lies put me through every possible emotion — grief, anger, confusion, heartbreak, and that constant feeling of wait… what did I just read? From the beginning, the story pulls you in and never gives you a moment to breathe.

Chiara absolutely broke my heart. She is a character who loves deeply and gives everything she has, even when it destroys her in the process. Her grief, trauma, and need to be loved feel painfully real, and I found myself wanting to both protect her and scream at her to run. Grief changes people, and this book shows just how messy and consuming that can be.

Liar is… complicated. One moment I hated him with everything in me, the next I caught myself questioning whether he actually cared. He’s the kind of character who keeps you emotionally off-balance, and I never knew what to believe when it came to him. Their dynamic is intense, dark, and impossible to ignore — full of tension, obsession, and emotional chaos.

Nothing in this book is what it seems. The twists had me questioning reality, the lies blurred into truth, and I constantly felt like I was missing something just beneath the surface. There were moments that made me gasp, moments that made me angry, and moments that had me staring at the page in disbelief.

And that ending… absolutely cruel. The cliffhanger left me sitting there thinking WTF just happened?! I’m so glad this is part of a trilogy, because I need answers — immediately.

⚠️ Please read the trigger warnings. This book does not hold back, and your mental health matters.

Dark, emotional, twisted, and completely addictive. I’m fully invested and counting down the days until the next book. 🖤

This book messed with my head in the best way possible.

From the first page, I was pulled into a story where nothing feels solid—identities blur, truths twist, and every character feels like they’re hiding behind a mask. LIAR and DOLL? Two broken souls circling each other inside a house built entirely on secrets, grief, and half-truths—and I was eating up every single page.

LIAR’s voice hit me hard. The anger. The bitterness. The refusal to belong. The way he feeds on lies because he’s the only one who knows the truth? Chilling. And DOLL… my heart hurt for her. Love, loss, memory, and that haunting feeling of knowing someone even when they don’t know you back. The emotional tension between them had me holding my breath.

And let’s talk about the twists because—OH. MY. GOD.

Just when I thought I had things figured out, A. Em. flipped the entire story on its head. Again. And again. I genuinely didn’t know who to trust, what was real, or if I was being played—and I loved that for me.

Dark, psychological, emotional, and completely unhinged in the best way, House of Lies is one of those books that crawls under your skin and stays there. It’s haunting, confusing (intentionally), and impossible to put down.

I am absolutely feral waiting for the final book in this trilogy because I NEED answers, closure, and probably therapy.

If you love dark romance with psychological twists, unreliable truths, and characters who live in the gray—this one’s a must-read. 🖤📖

House of Lies is book 2 in a series - start with House of Clowns first or you'll be very confused! It's also a dark romance/erotic horror - check triggers before reading.

I read both of the books in this series together, and I was glad I did - there are a lot of moving pieces to the story, and it's a lot to keep track of. Because there is so much mystery, I found myself a bit confused at times - it doesn't help that we have brothers who look alike, someone who we think is dead but might not be, and tons of twists and turns throughout. But those things definitely kept me turning the pages!

This is very moody, emotional, atmospheric - set in Italy, in a strange circus where the "freaks" seem to congregate. It's a home for misfits, but the things that happen in the dark might horrify you, and those who sign themselves over to the House of Clowns may come to regret that decision as well.

The romance and chemistry is very strong here, but the spice is a bit of a slow burn - there is some very strong spice at the end, but much of it is longing and yearning rather than straight-up sex scenes. It's so beautifully written, though, that I didn't mind immersing myself in the story for a while before hitting the (very wild!) spice.

I still am left with the feeling of "what did I just read?" but that's not a bad thing sometimes. Thoroughly enjoyable.

House of lies by A.Em

A. Em has done it again. Her words have consumed and destroyed me in the best possible way. And I was in no way ready or prepared for that to be continued. This journey pulls you in and leads you down paths you never expect.

Oscar — our liar — is damaged, cold, unhinged, a bully, and utterly determined. He takes what he wants, when he wants, and never apologises for it. Always craving what he can’t have… yet taking it anyway.

Chiara — our Doll — is broken, grieving, and completely lost, trying to navigate a world filled with cruelty and madness. She gives her all to anyone and everyone, always putting herself last.

Their relationship is raw and testing on both sides, jumping before they can walk, fighting to discover whether they’re capable of love — and if love even exists.

The words in this book were perfect, leaving me ripped open. I was left needing more, and I want more. I adored how the balloon scene came back into play, with the added touch of tattoos. Unhinged moments, spice, raw vulnerability, evil, love — this book has it all, and you will not regret reading it.

To say I fell in love with a clown the first time round in House of Clowns… I fell in love all over again in House of Lies.

This book had me hooked, even the quotes before the prologue. A. eM is the queen of writing darkness, where she reaches deep down into your soul and squeezes. She makes you feel everything as you read her stories and this one is no different.

Chiara, poor girl, she is always giving everything and all her love, and never receiving it in return. She is morning the loss of her love, Rio and finds herself back at the circus and she meets Oscar. We thought Rio was dark, oooooh Oscar is sooo much darker. I just want to shake Chiara and tell this beautiful girl to stop falling for this dark and broken men and to learn to love herself and stop giving these men everything, but here we are again.

Oscar wants what he can’t have, but he is determined to have it anyways, so he takes her. And he makes Chiara his Doll. He locks her up and he wants to break her down. Oscar is a morally black MMC, he is absolutely OBSESSED! They have this weird push and pull. He wants her and takes her, Doll shouldn’t want him back, but she finds herself craving and wanting him back.

Buckle up and get reading for another wickedly dark story! I know I was yelling at A again, I mean it’s a trend when I read her stories. She loves to emotionally destroy me.

This book held me captive from the opening sentence to the very last moment, pulling me deeper into the Circo dei Perduti (Circus of the Lost) where suddenly everything seems darker, more sinister and even more addictive than before.

We have Oscar (Liar) who is unhinged, entitled and takes what he wants even if it’s off limits, and Chiara who is both fragile and fierce, yet so loving and giving to others. Oscar grew up without love and Chiara has so much of it to give. Together they are explosive, combative, raw and broken, yet somehow I found myself absolutely hooked on the chemistry between them. The spicy scenes were written perfectly. My favourite involved the trapeze ropes 🤭.

This sequel to House of Clowns saw the return of some of my favourite characters from book one, and as I have come to expect from the author, many twists and turns and a few jaw dropping moments are woven perfectly into the story.

A.eM. always manages to create stories that are so beautifully written enabling us to feel all the emotions, with characters who are flawed, but so deeply human that we can relate to them. This is yet another book which took me on an emotional journey and left my jaw on the floor.

Before reading this incredible book, you must have read House of Clowns first. This book does contain some dark content, so please ensure you check the trigger warnings.

See told ya I was jumping into this one 🤣

When a love is lost you lose a piece of yourself, Doll feels this way every day but the mask she wears covers it perfectly. Only one person knows her true heartache, her best friend but even she doesn’t know it all. The liar, Oscar sees his doll as fine as porcelain, ready to be broken into pieces. His own darkness coated in no emotions, lacks empathy and has no love to give but Doll calms his aura in ways no-one else has. He makes the House of Clowns his and in doing so is in the perfect place to break his Doll and to seek revenge. Will this house all fall down? Will love ever be found?

𝙄 𝙨𝙖𝙬 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙛𝙡𝙖𝙜𝙨. 𝙀𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙡𝙚 𝙤𝙣𝙚. 𝘽𝙪𝙩 𝙄 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙛𝙞𝙭 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢.

From the first book into this one, you are drawn into their world of darkness, intrigue and mystery. In your head you are trying to work it all out, but still I have more questions than answers 🤯 this one is darker than the first, I may or may not have had a WTF face but it’s the writing that ensures your imagination is right there in the midst of it all. Can’t wait for the third book 🫣

3/5 spice

This book had me emotional from page one. I was literally tearing up in the prologue and then I was hooked because Chiara’s whole arc is such a ride. She loves hard and gives everything she has and half the people around her don’t even notice she’s running on empty. I wanted to scream at some of these characters and hug her at the same time.

Oscar is everything you want in a morally black MMC. He is spoiled and messy and absolutely obsessed. He wants what he should not have and he does not care. The way he called her his Doll had me kicking my feet. Their whole push and pull had my heart aching.

The cameos, the reveals, the quotes that hit straight in the chest I was honestly a wreck reading the letters to the lost ones. I cried so many times. This whole thing punched me right in the feelings and I loved every second.

I cannot stop thinking about that final line.

Overall 10/10 spice 3/5
So reading book 1 House of Clowns is really needed for important back story.
As with all Aem Books read the triggers they are important.

I dont even know where to go with this one. Boyfriends Brother? Clowns? Psychotic Liar? Chains? A literal ownership? Oh for the ones that liked Mr J (sorry wrong Joker) he makes another appearance or is it all a lie? Thats a thing with this series, questioning who is part of the secret society, who is in it but maybe trying to dismantle it from within, and who isnt part of it.
Doll she's a 10 but she doesnt know healthy love cause trauma from her childhood. Liar Hes a 10 but he hears voices and he cant love cause his childhood.

Of course being book 2 of 3 we expected a cliffhanger...and we should have seen that ending coming, sadly I didnt. Cant wait for book 3 im too emotionally invested into Chiara.

“You keep giving everything to people who don’t give two shits about you” “You love everyone so unconditionally, but you never get it back”

A. Em. has done it again with book 2 in the Hunt Trilogy. She has woven a story that keeps you on the edge of your seat and grabs your heart and psyche all at the same time.

Heartbreaking and raw, A. Em. always has a way of communicating emotions that you can actually feel as you navigate the story right alongside the characters.

The carnival setting gives a dark, eerie and sinister atmosphere and sets the stage for the broken, emotional and consuming Liar and Doll dynamic.

You need read House of Clowns first to understand the story, and the cliffhanger was so unexpected and heartbreaking. I can't wait for Book 3!

Check your triggers. This is a dark, erotic horror.

House of Lies is Book 2 of The Hunt Trilogy by A where Chiara is sure the face she sees is the face of the person she loved and lost, but will she uncover the truth or be buried in lies? Oscar, hiding in plain sight and feeding on the lies surrounding him, is he the liar?
~
The start of this book had me HOOKED, I was locked in from “You took your last breath, and I went with you” It brought back the heartache from Book 1 and I couldn’t wait for my heart to break all over again.
~
I don’t know how you do it A, but the emotion you pull out from the words you write is indescribable. I’m always unable to put a book of yours down when I start!
~
Although this book follows the vibe of book 1 with its haunted atmosphere and carnival/circus aesthetic this book is considerably darker, so please make sure you are reading any trigger warnings before jumping in 🖤

A EM never disappoints! This is book two in the HUNT trilogy. The prologue had me in tears and hooked from the beginning... Chiara is always giving to anyone around her, yet always receives crumbs back in return.
She is missing Rio, and the carnival coming back brings her right back to her time with him… and then she meets Oscar. Who changes the way she thinks about everything.. they both go on such a rollercoaster ride throughout this story and I CANNOT believe the ending & how Chiara caught the slip up.
I pray the ten years go fast lol
One of my favorite quotes:
“They say the moon and sun stayed apart to save the world. But my world ended the day I lost you. I look at the moon and see your love, still hiding. And I cry at the sun, shining because you’re gone.”

There is something about A.eM’s writing, even the dark aspects are written in a way that is beautifully haunting and House of Lies definitely delivers this experience.
I honestly needed a few minutes of silence after reading this, I sat staring at the wall not really knowing how to feel it was like after overuse of my emotions they went into malfunction mode (in a good way of course) especially after the last paragraph, that definitely pulled on my last heartstring.
This is book 2 in the Hunt Trilogy and just like House of Clowns, I was drawn in from start to finish, the story is dark, emotional, spicy and captivating and I am definitely looking forward to more from the Hunt Trilogy and I definitely recommend this read.

This is book 2 in the series.

Wow, where do I start with this review.

Chiara - when she thought it was over, she finds herself back at The House of Clowns, only this time it's different... She has a new name whilst being at The House of Clowns and this time her names Doll..
She's broken, she's grieving and most of all she's lost. Falling for someone new was never on the cards for her, only that all changed when she met Liar.

Oscar - his House of Clowns name is Liar, he has a new toy who he's called 'Doll' she was
supposed to be off limits, but sometimes when the king meets his queen all promises are off.
He's damaged, unhinged and completely determined.

This is a dark and hauntingly beautiful novel. One which caught me hookline and sinker.

There are so many twists, turns and emotions within this novel.

This hauntingly dark novel will keep you on the edge of your seat while reading!

This isn't the first novel by this author I have read and I can hands down say it will not be the last.

This is one of my favourite authors and her novels are absolutely amazing!

The way she created this storyline and the characters inside is brilliantly done.

This one is for the broken unhinged book readers who love dark and twisted things!
Who knew an unhinged clown would be your new favourite.

House of Lies, it makes you grief intensely, hate more then you ever knew you could and doubt things you never thought you would doubt. It's a rollercoaster of emotions going back and forth. You wanna hate Liar with all you got, then relief comes, he can care and the next you wanna punch, kick and even kill him. But most of all you wanna scream at Doll to get the hell away from there. But nothing is what it seems and the twist will blow your mind. So many emotions in one book, with an ending you will not see coming, it will keep you awake, on the edge of your seat, wondering what the hell is going to happen next. And a cliffhanger that makes you scream WTF at your damn book!

Does this peak your interest? Yes? then what are you waiting for? Get your copy now!!

This is a continuation of House of Clowns. Chiara has lost her love Rio and is living back at home. She then finds herself back at the circus. Oscar is like Rio but much darker. Bad things seem to follow her but if you look deeper, you see that she gives everything for love. She gives herself to these men and gets nothing in return. She needs to learn to love herself but she is a broken woman. She was abused as a child and even her brothers now have left her. It’s sad but also very spicy. The author writes these crazy, dark stories but there is always an underlying message that I love. Another to be continued and I can’t wait to see hire this all plays out.

4.5 ⭐️ UNHINGED, INTENSE. AN IMPOSSIBLE ONE TO FORGET.

Oh, this book cuts deeper than I expected. I felt every bit of Chiara’s sadness & heartache like it was my own. House of Clown was already amazing, but this? This goes beyond that. If HOC made me want to rip my hair out, HOL had me ready to jump out my bedroom window.

It’s darker. It’s heavier. Emotionally intense. Unhinged. This is no darkness. This is pitch black.

I feel a deeper connection with Chiara in HOL. Her heart, her longing, her quiet hope. All she wanted was to love & be loved, yet life kept hitting her from every direction, breaking her. But she stays resilient. Stubborn. Determined to find her own happiness despite everything. Despite being so broken. I fell in love with her in HOC. But now I am devoted to her.

I don’t know what to expect in the next one but I know it’ll be a reading journey as mind bending as this one.

Oscar, You Complex A-Hole!

House of Lies is a psychological er0tic h0rror circus romance. Read House of Clowns first (prepare to feel all the feelings with that one) then come back to this one. I didn't see Oscar coming and I really wished for Chiara to finally find someone after everything she had worked through. But alas, Oscar is a dck and wants to act like a martyr. Sometimes, some MMCs are only good for drooling over and not falling for, and Oscar was that for me. I need the next book because for the love of all that is unholy, Chiara needs to finally have a win!! My emotions are all over the place! Love this journey for me. 😈
