I was blessed to read an Advanced Reader Copy of Love at Frost Sight. All opinions are my own and freely given.
When Toby Darling, former star of Underground Dreaming and secret songwriter, gets selected to be on the Christmas special of Come Dancing With Me, he is over the moon to be paired with Nico Hamilton. Not only is Nico one of the best competitive dancers, but he's easy on the eyes, too. But winning Nico over is easier said than done. Nico is all serious and professional, so Toby makes it his personal mission to make him smile. Thank God Nico likes biscuits, or it would have been a lot harder! While Toby and Nico become closer as they prepare for the taping of their show, the sexual tension building between them becomes undeniable. Contestants dating each other isn't specifically against the rules, but it isn't encouraged either. So keeping it secret is a must, but neither Toby nor Nico is ready to see it end after the show. Christmas is just around the corner, and all Toby wants is Nico. He just hopes Nico feels the same.
This was such a cute holiday read. I loved Nico and how professional he was. He really guided Toby through the show and was definitely learning about whar his boundaries in the industry were. I loved that he was won over by all the sweets and that he just couldn't resist Toby's easygoing attitude. I loved that them falling in love was easy and sweet. I also really liked Toby. He really was a ray of sunshine, always happy and smiling. I love that he brought out the same in Nico. I really loved that Toby was very shy and down to earth. He was a really great character who just wanted to have fun and be himself.
I really loved how Toby and Nico fell in love. It was very sweet and low-angst. I loved the dancing scenes and that they just kept getting closer and closer as they worked together. The competition was a fun setting, and I enjoyed tha part a lot.
If I had a criticism it would be two things. First, some of the dialogue was a teensy bit cheesy, but that's okay. It wasn't that bad. The other thing, though, is I almost wish this had had less spice in it. I felt like it just didn't quite fit the tone of the book. I did enjoy it, but I think if it had been a little more subtle it would have been better. This is the first book I have read by this author, though, so maybe I just wasn't sure what to expect.
Overall I did really enjoy this book. It was low-angst and fun. There were funny parts and sexy parts and exciting parts. It was a cute holiday read, and I was glad to see Toby and Nico find their Happily Ever After. Overall I give this one a solid 4/5 🌟
