I've been wanting a cozy read and this hit that spot for me.
The Second Act is really a story of finding and loving yourself. I really liked all of the internal struggle and dialogue we get from Stella. Her character felt so relatable and down to earth. I think a lot of people can see themselves in her and in what she faces not only with what happens with Preston but with being a mother. The day to day things that moms do to keep things running, the holiday traditions, and the love mothers have for their children. I really appreciated Stella's character growth and just watching her stand up for herself.
Now on to the other characters. I adored the boys and laughed at the childhood antics. I think the dialogue and actions between Stella and Preston were well done and show the challenges a marriage can face. Of course Bowie is my favorite character. Who doesn't love a cowboy who is also a team player and wants what's best for Stella. He is strong and yet so supportive and it made my heart warm. Add a lot of spice on top and you've got yourself a contemporary romance that will keep you reading.
This book is perfect for people who like:
- Love triangles,
- A protective MMC,
- Lots of emotional growth and heartache
- FMC in her 30's and is a mom
- Insta lust/love

STOP IT! This is by far my favorite S.A. Miller book! Stella changed for the better after what happened and I admire her so much. I want to go on a rant about this story, but it'll contain spoilers so I'll just say please give this book a read and be prepared for different emotions to come out. I love how Miller writes and can't wait to read more.

I liked that the story was more than a love story but also about Stella´s connection with her kids. It was interesting to read how you can meet a stranger and directly connect with him so much. Unfortunately, I couldn´t connect with the characters and was on the side of the ex-husband. I´m prepared that everybody hates me for that. ;-)
