Set in an old world of spellcasters, crystals, and courtly intrigue, Crystals of the Seven Kingdoms weaves a tale of power, prophecy, and romantic tension. The Seven Kingdoms were each entrusted with a crystal of power, drawing strength from the sun and moon to sustain their people. These crystals fueled daily life and protected the realms until spellcasters corrupted their magic with alchemy. Tainted crystals shattered the balance, and the once-great Forest Kingdom fell to ash. Seraphine, a lady-in-waiting with a hidden gift, carries the legacy of the Forest kingdom, which fell twenty years prior, without knowing the truth of her bloodline. Prince Alaric, raised as heir after its destruction, rebuilt his people from ruin while carrying the burden of duty. When leaders from every kingdom gather at the Council of Thrones, an oracle delivers a prophecy that threatens to unravel everything. As wicked spellcasters rise and the kingdoms edge toward collapse, Seraphine, Liora, Daemir, and Alaric are drawn into a web of ambition, betrayal, and desire. When ambition and passion entwine, bonds will be tested, hearts will be broken, and not everyone will survive the choices that shape the fate of the Seven Kingdoms.
I received an ARC copy of this book. First off, I loved the plot of the story and how it carried on. I struggled at times with all the different POVs, it’s not something I’m used to reading and can be quite hard to keep up with. Hats off to Lana though, the thought that must of gone into this book is incredible. Also, just a quick thanks for the character info in the beginning, a great touch to add.
Will Seraphine regain her rightful position? Read on and see!
I received a ARC copy of this book. I loved the fact that it had multiple povs. It was a great story line that flowed well although a few times I did find myself confused and had to go back a few pages and reread. I loved all the characters.
I have not read a lyrical novel in a long long time, but I believe that it really helped me to immerse myself into this beautiful world that Lana has created for us to get lost in. Each kingdom is beautifully written in such a poetic way that it really builds upon the story and creates this magical world that feels dreamlike and whimsical!
I have throughly enjoyed journeying with Seraphine, Liora, Alaric and my new favourite character: Daemir.
Daemir is definitely an upcoming book boyfriend with quotes like this:
“You deserve to be wanted fully. When your grief doesn’t speak louder than your heart.”
The Crystal’s of the Seven Kingdoms was rich and beautiful to read, I enjoyed learning and growing alongside the characters through the whirlwind of different events that transpired to create such a magical place to escape to ❤️
The Story Circles around the 7 crystals of the Worldheart. As well as Seraphine a ward of the kingdom, a lady in waiting to Princess Liora.
A lot of underhanded and mysterious things are happening - a rogue spell castor is causing havoc with the people of all the kingdoms as well as messing with the weather.
Will the Princess’s and Prince’s of the kingdom be able to rise above the turbulence.
So the battle against evil happens about 50% of the way, so far the next 1/4 is about the prince’s and princess becoming kings and queens and finding one another. Book one could have cut off at about the 50% mark, and the other could have been split into two sequels just based on the events that took place.
A little back and forth of the years at the beginning, 20 years ago, 5 years, present day, 10 years ago and so forth. Its a little jarring at first. The flashbacks in the later books also tend to feel like your never sure where you are going to find yourself, past future, present who knows. Between the plot points changing (I.e. easily made into 3 books) and the back and forth of timelines, this has been an ok-ish book.
if you’ve ever wondered what would happen if medieval politics, magic crystals, prophecies, and romantic tension all got shoved into a very ambitious blender, this book is your smoothie. the seven kingdoms run on magical crystals that make everything better until spellcasters mess them up and fashionably destroy the forest kingdom, setting off a chain reaction of drama that would tire out a soap opera writer.
the cast is delightfully large, with seraphine starting out as a lady-in-waiting with a hidden gift, and prince alaric rebuilding his shattered homeland while also trying not to be a tragic romantic trope. there’s political intrigue, rising rogue magic, backstabbing, and an oracle delivering a prophecy that absolutely nobody asked for but everyone now has to deal with.
what i enjoyed most was how the world feels rich and layered, almost like a fantasy version of a powerpoint presentation titled all the things that could go wrong in a kingdom. the romantic tension is real without taking over the whole story, and the multiple points of view keep you guessing who is about to make the most questionable decision next. that said, the sheer number of characters and flashbacks can feel overwhelming at times, and a few scenes made me go back a page to double check who was yelling at whom.
overall this book is a compelling fantasy epic with solid worldbuilding, vibrant characters, and enough magic to make your local wizard jealous. if politics, prophecy, and crystal-powered chaos excite you, this one will keep you turning pages.
I received this book in trade for an honest review.
This was a bit of a slow start for me but as I read it picked up pretty quickly and became super interesting and honestly intense. I love the multiple POVs, they give you a different outlook on what's happening throughout the story and I've always enjoyed books like this because I always wanna know what's going on in different characters perspectives and Lana delivered. This book is magic packed to the brim and it was epic, it brought me back to the days of first reading the Harry Potter books and discovering the world of Witches and Wizards and so on. The Crystals of the Seven Kingdoms honestly might have blown the Harry Potter books out of the water just with the amount of magic alone and honestly I love that for Lana and her world. The World building and story telling captures the audience so well and then the character development? stellar. I hope this book makes it big and is a best seller.
I volunteered to be an ARC reader for this book. It’s fantasy (which I’m a big fan of) and romance (which is a genre I am generally not interested in). I took this as an opportunity to force myself to finally read something with romance. The fantasy elements were very well done, and I was surprisingly impressed by the romance. Very good, solid story with excellent world-building. It’s definitely worth a read. Some caveats… There is a lot of prose in the book (that leans toward poetry). If you like prose, this is definitely the book for you. I found myself having to re-read several sections of the book to make sure the words were penetrating my skull. Also, the book uses multiple POVs, which I am generally not a fan of, but the author pulled it off well.
A fantasy that draws you in from the start. Lana brings us Seraphine, a maiden, that must solve the issues of crystals related to a prophecy that comes to the Council of Thrones. Seraphine has a gift and teams up with Prince Alaric and some others to help the fate of the seven kingdoms. The world building is superb, and the characterization is spot on. The suspense and the telling of the story through multiple POV's works great and keep you invested the whole way. Can't wait to see what else Lana has in store for us next.
The story line starts out very slow and explains a lot but once you read past that it gets so good. I really liked this book for the detail and for the characters. You get to know them so well and go on this journey with them. The transition points are well done and the story flows well. I like the themes, the aspects of each kingdom and the way the rules are outlines. It's a great read for someone wanting a fun fantasy escape. Not a fan of romance though and it does get romantic.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
As someone who isn't much into fantasy..i thoroughly enjoyed this book. It took me a while because of the complexity of the genre.. but the author provided guidance which I immensely appreciated.
While reading this book.. it was like a movie that played in my head which I LOVED because WOW... itbwas just amazing.
I cannot wait to see this book get the love it deserves 🫶🏼
I won’t go much into the plot of the story... but just know you're in for a wild ride 😜 and its so worth it.
This might be the book that gets me into fantasy lol.. so excited for more 🤭
Your Instagram reels are amazing, the story looks awesome! But the cover doesn’t match that level. A more eye-catching, curious design would really draw readers in. Honestly, I felt like reading it because of your reels, but if I had only seen the cover first, I probably wouldn’t have picked it up.
Just an amulet shines on the cover doesn’t really pull readers in. Maybe add a touch that hints at the story inside, it’ll spark more curiosity. Just a little advice, nothing else!!
I received this book as an arc and u lived it. I love that the author took time to explain the characters and set up the story. I love reading books from different POVs. The story drew me in. I can't wait to see this book blow up!!!
Very dynamic story, reminds me of richer classic books. Some stories done today are so simplistic in language. Romanticizes should be complex. Should've been lengthened to a series.
So what I liked about the book was how she was saved and taken raised by a woman in safety. She grew up not realizing her talentShe was doing what came natural to her that was the best part of the book to me.
