About the author

Brit KS has always been a voracious reader of many books — but all her favorites have kissing in them. Growing up in Laguna Beach, CA, she wrote stories, plays and truly awful poetry that didn’t improve with age. At college the boy next door stole her heart, and in 2021 they tied the knot in England with a ceremony that was equal parts Elfhame and Starfall. Brit currently spends her time in Atlanta, GA, with her husband, their two fur babies, and many, many cups of iced coffee.

So I’m FULLY IN LOVE WITH THIS. I genuinely believe Brit’s writing has grown so much since book one (and I loved that one too!) The paranormal vibes for book three were STRONG and unique and had me immersed.

I absolutely adored all of the character POVs in this, and fell so hard for Soter & Isole like I want them to have their own books 🤣 Seeing Jax’s character arc was *chef kiss* and I firmly believe this is such a beautiful conclusion to Leigh and Wilder’s story that started in Raise H e l l.

Forever a Brit KS fan, and can’t wait to see what she does next 😍

First of all thank you so much for the arc I got for this book. I am so grateful for being able to read this before its release!

I am so sad that this series is over but I’m also so happy with the fact that we got one last action packed novella to wrap up everyone’s story and see where all of the characters are. I will say that one of my favorite things about this series is how many different characters and stories you end up falling for. I feel like all these characters are my babies and I want them all to be happy.

I really can’t wait for Brit’s next project. She is so talented, I will forever support and read anything she puts out!

This final installment doled out healthy doses of heartache that had me reeling and beautifully tender moments that had me swooning. I loved how the author ties in multiple POVs (including new ones!) to deliver hard-earned HEAs for the main and supporting characters.

The vibes are immaculate, marrying Orpheus and Eurydice and the Labyrinth motifs with a unique magical system and contemporary courtly intrigue.

In Last Breath, the author takes the reader on a mesmerizing journey where hope catches fire and love transcends death. This was an artful and perfect conclusion to the series!

A fun and exciting conclusion for the Eleventh Hour series

Slight Spoilers for book 1 & 2 (Raise Hell & Take Root)

Last Breath takes place a few years after the conclusion of Take Root. Leigh and Wilder have been postponing their wedding as they worked to unite the people of Corona. With a strong and stable alliance in place with the werewolves, the dismantling of the labor laws, and a successful rehabilitation center for the Lunar Witches. All seems well in Corona. But Leigh is hiding a secret from Wilder and the Council.

Leigh has come into her powers as a Lunar witch and has been able to help the souls of her family cross over but when her ancestor Queen Aradia refuses to cross, her soul is doomed to wander the levels of Mictlan (Limbo). After everything that Aradia has done to help Leigh and the people of Corona, Leigh is determined to save her from the despair of Mictlan. During the Samhain celebrations, when the veils between the realms Leigh and Ravi perform a ritual to bind Aradia’s soul to Leigh, but the ritual goes terribly wrong, when Leigh opens a portal to Mictlan. Leigh and Ravi use their shadow magic to hide the tear into the realm of despair until they are able to close the opening. For months, Leigh and Ravi work in secret to close the portal with no success, while daemons slowly enter their realm.

Leigh convinces Gianna (her best friend) to move the wedding to her family’s estate in Glaucus so she and Ravi can close the portal before Wilder and everyone else discover where the daemons are coming from. But when a little boy is kidnapped by a Dullahan, Leigh ventures into Mictlan to save him.

Last Breath delivers multiple POVs from a wide range of characters, skillfully tying up loose ends and giving many of them the endings they truly deserved. Leigh’s journey to Mictlan was especially compelling, exciting, emotional, and exactly what I needed as a reader who wasn’t ready to say goodbye. I’ve genuinely loved this series; the characters, the world, and the way everything comes together made it such a memorable and satisfying experience from start to finish.

Oh Leigh, you just had to cause chaos one more time lol. This book has multiple POVs from characters we love and some new characters. Leigh off the bat is causing trouble due to her own conscious and feeling guilty, even though she shouldn’t. Wilder is dealing with life changes because he doesn’t want the life his parents had and wants Leigh to feel loved and his priority no matter what.

This book was filled with happy endings and even a smidge more character growth. I’m glad Leigh finally got called out for always being so self sacrificing! She loves with her entire being and sometimes that’s her downfall, you have Wilder, lean on him!

Desi & Vane have small appearances and my girl Desi, I need you to get a therapist😂 not because she is messed up but being a vampire when not all of your loved ones are is a hard thing to handle and unfortunately Vane has too many years of dealing with that type of loneliness to really help.

My only complaint with this book is I really wish the wedding was from Leigh or Wilders pov, we’ve followed and loved their love since book 1 so it would’ve been nice to be IN that moment with them.

Overall this book gives everyone a happy ending and closure for those who need it!
This is the final book in the Eleventh Hour series and I’m genuinely sad to say goodbye to these characters.

i read the whole Eleventh Hour series after receiving this ARC from Brit KS (thank you so much!) to ensure i understood what all we had lead up to and found myself enthralled by the world and its “campy” (but totally in a good way - filled with monsters and creatures abound). there will be bits of my review that summarize my thoughts on her debut series as a whole.

i think Last Breath is a great conclusion and continues to show Brit’s effort and continued growth as a writer! i really enjoyed the dynamics between Leigh and Wilder the slow burn to obsession and love was something i have been looking for recently! the multi-POV situation is something i enjoy, but i can see where it may feel overwhelming to get so many in Last Breath. it was nice to get a book where we did get moments where stakes were high, but we also got to see happiness, love, and what feels like a comfortable conclusion for our favorite characters.

i do wish there were some POVs we got in certain moments (like during the wedding), but i enjoyed those scenes nonetheless. again, sometimes it did feel like we hopped around POVs a lot, but it’s nice to be in the heads of some characters we really hadn’t before.

i cannot wait to delve into Brit’s next project!! the story of The Eleventh Hour series was solid at the start with Raise Hell, but each entry built upon the last.

Let me tell you about a book that I started and finished in just mere hours. I am so glad I was able to read it so fast. It was a written perfection with a fast paced story and shorter chapters, and included multiple POVs.

It is quite an achievement for me to read it this fast. I love the plot, which really I was not think would go the way it went, and consider me surprised with every twists and turns Brit KS threw my way. I was thrilled after reading the blurb and the story came with a heavy impact on characters’ emotions and the ones they are afraid to face.

I wanted to scream and yell at Leigh for so many times while reading but I understood where she was coming from to be doing all that she was. My sympathies and kudos to her for being so brave and giving. It was a delightful story with spice that made difficult moments light.

I think you must read the series in order and enjoy this superb journey of Wilder and Leigh, who have gone through so much together that they are perfect for each other. Brit also had some amazing artwork in the book that I cannot wait to get a copy of my own book and admire it daily.

Okay, Brit KS -- you can write me a deliciously dark novella any time you want! Brit KS delivered a multi-POV Eleventh Hour (longer) novella that I absolutely devoured.

This Orpheus and Eurydice-esque novella returns us to world of the vampires, witches, and supernatural creatures just in time for Wilder and Leigh's wedding. And without fail, our girl Leigh is up to no good (with the best of intentions).

As their wedding nears, Leigh is forced to ventured in to the rift (that she created) to find a young boy. But Mictlan is a dangerous ghost land where Leigh and Wilder need to control their own futures and flaws. The rest of our favorite characters are behind, holding down the fort in Glaucus. They are not without their own drama and challenges -- as each struggles with child, love, loss, and the unknown set out before them.

I loved that Brit was able to really give us all the best pieces of this world in novella form. The story and the character development demonstrate what we all hope for in a novella -- a story story, sexy scenes, and a perfect escape.

I can't believe it's over *sobs* This was such a fantastic finish to The Eleventh Hour series, basically an epilogue, but make it suspenseful. We did get a little bit of turmoil between Wilder and Leigh which broke my heart a touch, but ultimately these two found their way back to forever and I loved their journey so, so much.

As always with this series, I very much enjoyed the multiple POVs Brit gives us. From Jaxson (swoon) to Desiree and Vane and even Soter, Isolde, Ravi and Gianna, we get to see this world from so many perspectives and see so many beautiful relationships. I really loved Desiree and Vane's and Soter and Isolde's especially, but all of these characters are just fantastic.

The epilogue was perfect and so sweet. I adore Wilder and Leigh so much and to finally see them in their happily ever after made me so happy. I loved this whole series to pieces and this was the perfect bow.

This is the third and final book in the Eleventh Hour series, and although I am sad to see this series end, this was definitely a satisfying ending to Leigh and Wilder's adventures in Borealis and beyond!

I'm not going to spoil anything, but I really enjoyed this book, which is told from several of our favorite characters' POVs. I always love a book that makes me feel things, and this one had me laughing in some parts, extremely worried in others, and as always the heat between our favorite main characters is right on point! I really enjoyed the POV of characters we meet in Raise Hell and Take Root, and ended up also getting emotionally invested in their journeys, as well as Leigh and Wilders!

This book was such a lovely ending to the series. I adore Wilder and Leigh so much and finally seeing them reach their HEA made me ridiculously happy.
I really enjoyed the multi POV again. Getting to spend time with so many of the characters we’ve grown to love was a treat. Desi and Vane will always have a special place in my heart, but I was especially happy that we got to see more of Soter and Isolde and how they worked through everything as well.
If I had one small complaint, it’s that I wish the final “fix” had come with a bit more struggle. It felt a little too immediate and I think letting that moment breathe a bit more would have made the emotional payoff hit even harder.
That said, it was still a wonderful read and a really satisfying conclusion to these characters journeys.
A fantastic ending to a series I genuinely loved.

I fell in love with this series from the very first book and was so excited to revisit this world one last time.  Brit did such an job amazing wrapping up everyone's stories and giving them the endings they deserved. She always writes such beautiful and rich stories and Last Breath was no different.

The story picks up two years later with Leigh and Wilder finally getting ready to get married. However nothing goes according to plan. I love that Wilder will follow Leigh to the literal depths of hell. Wilder will always be boyfriend material.

I loved that we even got to see how Desi, Jaxton, Sol and some of the characters stories played out.

I can't wait to see what Brit comes up with next.

This was a captivating conclusion with gothic vibes to a fast paced, character driven paranormal romance series. Wilder’s arc throughout the whole series has been flawless. Leigh has lots of self sacrificial tendencies and trust issues but she’s getting there. Their romance is spicy and swoony, I mean he’ll literally fight death for her so 🤭. Jax’s secret was the sweetest plot twist. Honestly I was most invested in Soter this time!! I loved his well earned HEA. I think my issue is there is a lot of telling what happened in the time jump instead of showing because the second book left a lot of unresolved character dynamics that needed to be addressed. And wondering if there’s going to be more stories in this world because I am very intrigued by the death god and the trapped souls. Thanks to the author for the review copy!

Leigh may not love drama, but drama sure loves her 😂 the queen of chaos had to create a little more of it before saying goodbye 🫣

The final book in the Eleventh Hour trilogy delivers everything I hoped it would and then quietly threatens your emotional stability while doing it.

From the very start, the tension is sky high because the question hanging over everything is simple but brutal. Are Leigh and Wilder actually going to make it to the altar? Every page kept that worry humming in the background.

And then there’s Mictlan… which is officially on my list of places I would absolutely never like to visit. Dark, eerie, and full of grief soaked danger, it adds a whole new layer of stakes as Leigh faces the consequences of the magic she unleashed.

One of my favorite things about this book was seeing all the side characters again and how their stories wrapped up. The world feels richer because of them. And yes, Vane, I’m looking directly at you. 👀

This story also keeps you on your toes. Just when you think you know where things are going, the plot takes a sharp turn and reminds you to expect the unexpected.

And that epilogue?
Thank you for that, Brit. Truly. A perfect way to close out the journey.

If you’ve been following this trilogy, Last Breath is a satisfying, emotional finale filled with magic, danger, and a love story determined to survive the darkness.

What an ending to a fabulous debut series. Brit really allowed all her characters to flourish and wrap up their stories.

Leigh was her pure chaos creating self but I did appreciate the fact that someone finally called her out on her actions - girl, allow someone else to self sacrifice every once in a while! Wilder is out here still being mister dependable and trying to make better choices for him and Leigh.

Desi & Vane’s appearance gave me life - I love them.

Brit, congratulations on completing your first series, I cannot wait to see what you do next!!

This was a fantastic ending to the series. Aside from the heart-melting HEA Leigh and Wilder have very much earned, the rest of our characters' stories wrap in equally satisfying ways. Even though this is a (longer) novella, Brit is able to jam-pack this story with character development, relationship escapades, and everything we loved from the previous books. I love Leigh and Wilder with my entire being and having to read the tension in their relationship was so upsetting, despite the fact that I knew we were getting a happy ending. That's just a testament to Brit's writing and while I'm sad to say goodbye to these characters, I am eagerly anticipating what's in store next.

Brit you weren't supposed to make me cry.... Okay in all honesty they are happy tears!

I love novellas that let us see the characters we've fallen in love with, live their lives.

This was such a fun and beautiful way to close up the characters.

Leigh and Wilder are perfect match! Desi and Vane have so much chemistry between them! (I want to see their wedding) Jax and his talk he had with Desi *cue the emotions*

Super sad this series is over but what a beautiful ending. The level of suspense was crazy. Leigh and Wilder have some tension which hurt my soul. Their love and care of one another never wavers.

I love the multiple POVs, it adds so much to the world and different dynamics. Soter and Isolde have my heart, I was very much rooting for them. Desiree and Vane keep proving they are the best vampire couple.

I’m sad to be saying goodbye to these characters but Leigh and Wilder finally getting their happily ever after was truly magical and beautiful.

I see why the author included multiple POVs to wrap up the series but the beginning felt a bit overwhelming with so many POVs and was a touch too long, IMO. Still, I loved getting Leigh and Wilder’s wedding moment. Great job Brit KS on your debut series!

Perfection. OMG that was the perfect ending to this series. You get all of the glorious POVs which is amazing & you can definitely keep up with what is going on. Sometimes when there is a lot it can get confusing but this was very easy to follow along. Just made my nosy little heart happy to be able to see how everyone thinks & feels. But it makes my heart hurt more for the characters to see their struggles.

Ugh Leigh & Wilder are just the best. With Vane & Desi! Just so swoony & hot. Loved this story. I like how this felt Labyrinth-y & Kosac giving Jareth vibes. I was just imagining David Bowie under those robes about to pop out with his tight pants & codpiece 🤣. Not really but my mind did go there a bit. I might be running on little sleep which is causing odd thoughts.

This had me on my toes from beginning to end. It was probably the fastest I’ve ever read an eARC. Quite literally the perfect ending to a wonderful series. I don’t want to say goodbye to these characters but what a way to do so. Can I also brag about the playlists for this series? I love listening to them on repeat & they totally put me in a zen type of mood. It all just makes my heart so happy.

Highly recommend picking up the Eleventh Hour series if you’re looking for a great urban paranormal fantasy.

🤩 Wow, what a spectacular finale to this amazing trilogy. I was hooked right from the first chapter in this Stranger things meets Labyrinth paranormal romantasy.

🤔 Imagine opening up a portal to hell and then finding yourself there … on the night before your wedding. Our chaotic but well-meaning FMC Leigh, does exactly that, and suddenly she’s fighting her way through this nightmare world, attending a ghostly masquerade ball and out running a literal god of death and his demonic minions - all in time to make it down the isle with Wilder - the man of her dreams.❤️‍🔥

💕I loved the pace of this book, it was straight into the action with multiple POV’s going on at the same time. And the spice - it was seriously spicing! 🥵Frisky vampires, blindfolded fun & some very questionable hallway decisions. Honestly, If those castle walls could talk 🤭

This was my favourite book of the series and I would definitely love to revisit this world again if Brit writes more books!
