First, he found a sentient sword. Now, a powerful enemy is after his life…

As his redhead childhood friend grows even more daring in her expression of love, the adorable dragonkin is also eager to take their relationship to the next level. But will he and the stoic catkin ever get along?
Dangerous monsters, a deadly dungeon, and saving lives are merely the beginning of his journey to become a true hero. He and his girls will uncover an insidious secret and unravel a great mystery about Steel Heart.
But nothing can prepare them for the encounter with a fearsome creature who seeks to end his life, or the corruption that is slowly spreading across the land.
With the life of his girls and everyone else in the city at risk, Lucas has no choice but to face his most difficult trial head-on and hope he can overcome it!
Sword of Elathia is a fantasy adventure with romance and minor integration of litrpg/gamelit elements.
I made it 50% of the way through this book, and I DNF it at that point. The first LI is too dumb to stay alive, and the only reason the party is alive is plot armor.
I enjoyed the first book if this series, but there were somethings that bothered me. The author and MC treating a buckler type shield as something you can do a lot more with than reality would dictate. I was quite happy when the MC finally got a larger and usable shield, considering he had been "shield bashing" using a buckler, which is comical.
The first LI likes to push things with the MC, and it can get tedious how hypersexed she is, and how easily she can manipulate the MC and others. My final straw was they are hiding inside a church, trying to avoid being detected by people they can sense are in the vicinity. So the first LI starts to fondle and kiss on the 2nd LI, making her moan. Talk about dumb.
Since I hadn't been that impressed with this book so far, I just stopped at that point.
We get more amazing characters and the plot is filling out with more mysteries as our party ventures through the land. I'm interested to what happens next and hopefully we don't have to wait to long for the next book.
