"... a slightly more extreme version of the break I had intended to take before."...
Found on the Prairie is the fourth book in The Original Mountain Man series. This story finds Kim driving in the mountains when her car overheats so she pulls over. As she tries to find cell service she trips and falls hard. Once she wakes up she finds herself back in 1857. She sees a horse drawn wagon coming her way and waves it down. Luckily for her it is driven by Cade and his younger sister Lucy, who readers met in the previous book, Stranded on the Prairie, as they are Wyatt's siblings. Cade appears to be not happy about rescuing Kim but Lucy is not about to let her be left alone. So they take her back to the family house they share where things will get very intense between Kim and Cade. Once Kim realizes what has happened and she meets Riley, who is not Wyatt's wife, she begins to think about what she would be able to do for the community, and especially the women and girls. Add in a sexy Cade who rocks her world and this trip back in time might just deliver everything she ever wanted in her modern life, just with some adjustments needed along the way.
This was a really charming and exciting book. The story is fast-paced but delivers on all the things I was hoping for. Plus I really liked the characters, even if I wanted to kick Cade's butt more than a few times he finally got it together. I also loved Lucy and hope that she is able to have her own book.

At cross purposes.
Kim left Denver two days ago after returning home early from a seminar early and finding her boyfriend, Colton on their couch having sex with one of her graduate students. She wonders how often it's happened before. She can even hear the justification he give to the the women, "She never has time for me." He even tried to convince her that she didn't see what she saw.
She decided to get away into the the mountains outside of Denver. But now her car has come to a wheezing halt on the side of the road. She should have her checked before leaving on a trip. She pulls out her phone to call for help, but she has no service. Holding her phone high up in the air, she walks around searching for service. Too bad she wasn't looking where she was going. She tripped on a rock and both she and her phone went tumbling to the ground. When she stands up, her shorts were no protection for her knees, and her hands are also scuffed and scraped. Even worse, not only can't she find her phone, but her car is gone, too!
There's something different in the air. It smells purer. When she reaches the road, there's no marks in the grass to show where her car was parked. And the road is different, too. It wasn't the best before, but now it's dirt. What is going on? Then she sees and old-fashioned horse and cart approaching. She'll have to flag it down because there's no telling how long it could be until someone else passes by.
When the man stops the cart, he appears to be about her age. However, he's wearing old-timey clothes and beat-up boots. The young girl with him, who she thinks is probably his sister, is also dressed in period clothing in a dress with a laced-up bodice and a long, almost to the ground skirt. The girl offers to take her back to town, but her brother doesn't look a certain. The girl introduces herself as Lucy and her brother, Cade.
XWhen they pull up to their house, Kim sees that it also looks like something out of another time period. The entire small town they passed through also seemed to be some sort of a historical reenactment settlement.
When she admitted that she had nowhere to go, Lucy offered her a room in their home. She thought Cade would veto the offer, but he didn't.
Kim didn't take the news well at all when Lucy told her the current year is 1857. However, she soon realizes that this place and time are going to be her new reality.
There's a pull between Kim and Cade that finally came to a head. She's never felt so loved and he thinks he's finally found the perfect woman for him. When he learns that Kim taught English at a college, he knows he can't keep her with him. She reminds him too much of his mother. His mother had so much potential but she was so consumed with caring for her husband and children that she gave up her life for them. Even after her husband's death, she still wouldn't stretch her wings. He can't allow this to happen to Kim. There's no men in town that have ever gone to college, let alone taught there.
Unfortunately, that's not how Kim read the situation. She was a flop with guys in the 21st century and apparently also in the 19th century, too. Cade evidently also considers her a one-and-done.
Cade already had an idea that Kim came from from the same place where his sister-in-law, Riley came from. His brother had never been too clear about her origin. When he decides to go visit Wyatt and Riley, Kim invites herself along.
It doesn't take long for the women to realize they're both time-travellers. Riley has a suggestion that Kim loves, but Cade hates...

She lost her way and landed right where she belonged.
Kim isn't planning to fall through time. But after a brutal breakup and a broken-down car in the Colorado wilderness, that's exactly what happens. Stranded in the middle of nowhere with no signal, no car, and no answers, she stumbles into a quiet prairie town that looks like it stepped out of the 1800s. What starts as survival turns into something else entirely when a guarded stranger offers her more than just a ride.
Cade doesn’t need complications, especially not ones wrapped in mystery. Kim's smart, out of place, and impossible to ignore. She challenges him just by being there, and as much as he tries to stay detached, her strength and stubbornness break through his walls. They clash, they stumble, but somewhere between the silence and shared space, something deeper takes root.
As Kim starts to understand this strange new world, she finds purpose in it too. Teaching brings her back to life, and so does the unexpected connection she's building with Cade. Staying means letting go of everything familiar, but it also means finally choosing herself. And maybe, just maybe, finding a place to belong.
Their relationship doesn’t spark fast, but it burns deep. Kim grows from heartbroken and lost to grounded and strong. Cade opens up in ways he never thought he could. Together, they create something real, built on respect, tenderness, and a slow-earned trust that neither of them saw coming.
A steamy, time travel, small town prairie romance with grumpy sunshine tension, slow blaze heat, opposites attract, and a rugged frontier backdrop. It explores identity, survival, trust, transformation, empowerment, healing, and belonging. It’s about finding purpose after heartbreak, choosing to stay when running would be easier, and letting love grow in the place you least expect.

Kim, nursing a broken heart, embarks on a journey to the Colorado Frontier and unexpectedly travels back in time to 1857. There, she meets Lucy and Cade, who provide her with a haven as she navigates her next steps. Cade, a guarded mountain man with a troubled past, is reserved and carries a sense of sadness within him.
The chemistry between Kim and Cade is palpable, with plenty of spicy and hot scenes. Despite being opposites, they complement each other perfectly. Cade admires Kim's intelligence and uniqueness, wishing his own mother had pursued a different path beyond a traditional home life.
The couple faces challenges and uncertainties, primarily stemming from Cade's fear that he may not be enough for Kim. The banter between Kim and Cade is witty, showcasing Kim's fiery and spirited nature, which Cade secretly appreciates. Kim finds solace in connecting with other women on the Mountain Prairie who share similar experiences, easing her heart and solidifying her sense of love and belonging. She embraces her dreams while supporting others, ultimately finding safety, love, and a sense of family in the arms of the Grumpy Mountain Man, along with forming beautiful friendships.
The plot of the story is engaging, blending romance with steamy scenes filled with passion, lust, and desire. Humor is interwoven throughout the narrative, and the strong heroine not only finds love but also discovers her true sense of belonging. Utilizing her teaching skills, she finds purpose in helping others.

Kim, reeling from betrayal and heartbreak, never expected that a broken car—and a literal tumble into the unknown—would launch her into 1857. There, she meets Cade, a stoic and rugged farmer whose quiet strength hides a deeply tender heart. The contrast between Kim’s sharp, modern intellect and Cade’s grounded simplicity is electric. Sparks fly, hearts ache, and every page pulses with tension, desire, and the unspoken promise of second chances.
What makes this story shine is the way Frankie Love balances the romance with immersive historical detail. From the prairie winds to the horse-drawn carts and the rhythm of a life built from the earth, the setting becomes a character in its own right. The love between Kim and Cade feels earned, real, and impossible to resist. Their slow-burn connection is intensified by cultural and temporal barriers, making every stolen glance and tender touch all the more powerful.
This isn’t just a tale of romance—it’s a story of self-discovery, courage, and embracing a love that defies time. The chemistry is palpable, the stakes are high, and the ending leaves your heart full and aching in the best way.

**Teacher Back in Time!**
The fourth and final book in *The Original Mountain Man* series is titled *Found on the Prairie*. In this story, Kim finds herself stranded on the side of the road. While trying to get help, she slips and falls, losing both her phone and her car. At that moment, Cade and his sister discover Kim and offer to take her back to town.
Kim soon realizes that she has traveled back in time to 1857. The attraction between Kim and Cade is immediate and intense. Cade recognizes that Kim’s modern education makes her special, and he worries that he might hold her back since he is just a simple farmer.
The question is whether Cade will show Kim how much he desires her or let her try to find a way back home. I thoroughly enjoyed this short, love-at-first-sight story. It’s a fun, happy ending (HEA) to curl up with at the end of your day, featuring great characters, no drama, no cheating, and an engaging time travel theme—a perfect conclusion to the series.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Timeless Love Story That Transcends Centuries 💞
Found on the Prairie is a breathtaking blend of time travel, heart, and healing. Frankie Love weaves a story that’s both tender and deeply romantic, pulling you right into the windswept prairies and the quiet strength of a love that feels destined.
Kim’s journey—from a modern teacher lost in routine to a woman rediscovering her passion and purpose in another time—is beautifully written. Her courage and compassion shine in every scene. And Cade? He’s the kind of hero that lingers in your heart long after the last page—steady, soulful, and unexpectedly vulnerable. The way he learns to open his heart again after so much loss had me misty-eyed more than once.
The slow-burn connection between them feels raw and real, growing as naturally as the prairie itself. The mix of gentle humor, emotional depth, and sizzling chemistry makes this story impossible to put down.

After being betrayed by the man she should have been able to trust Kim plans a mountain trip to get away. A fall into a different time was not part of the plan especially when she soon realizes that this way of life is very different from the life she was living. She is rescued by Cade and his sister who try to help her adapt to her new life.
Cade isn’t sure what to make of the mysterious woman who has landed into his life. The attraction he feels for her is undeniable, but he also believes he needs to not allow her to close as someone as educated as her would not be content with the life he could offer her.
I really enjoyed how Cade overcame his reservations to claim the woman he has come to love and how accepting the other townspeople were as they embraced Kim and helped her find her purpose.

Kim who, after experiencing betrayal and heartbreak, accidentally travels back to 1857. This happens when her car runs out of gas, and she literally tumbles into the unknown. Another great time travel story, as Kim's car breaks down along the side of the road, and while she was trying to get a phone signal, she was transported back in time. She met Cade and Lucy, brother and sister which offered a place to stay. They knew she acted like Riley, the girl their brother found. Cade and Kim were drawn to each other, but he was afraid to commit that she might leave. I only gave this book 4 stars, since it did not follow the series. In the previous book Cade and Lucy lived in town with plenty of money not on a farm growing vegetables. Plus, Lucy was forgotten during parts of the story. Still an enjoyable read.

The right time by MeemsAngel82
Literally the right time for them. This was so fun and what chemistry between these two! Frankie has this series that I have been loving, this time bringing a jaded female teacher back in time. To a gruff man with a sweet sister.
She hadn't been ok with her ex and needed some fresh air...and found herself back in time.
Shocked? I would be! But she took it in stride and luckily there are already some ladies here that understand her journey. The characters are great and I love the sparks between our leads. What a steamy read! This was so fun and I hope we get some more time travel!

"Welcome to the Colorado frontier, where fate is feral, love is lawless, and the original mountain man is ready to claim what's his." This is the fourth stand alone story in the "Original Mountain Man" series. This is a time travel story that takes us back into time to frontier days and stoic cowboys. The story is about Kim and Cade. Kim, a professor, has returned home to find her boyfriend in action with another women. She decides to escape to the Colorado Rockies where she has car trouble and falls trying to find help. Next thing she knows her car and phone are gone and man in an old fashioned buggy is pulling up. This is a good, short and quick read with some time travel, passion and sweetness.

FOUND ON THE PRAIRIE is Book 4 of the Original Mountain Man Series. It's a short and steamy, instalove, OTT, opposites-attract, grumpy-sunshine, time-travel, forced-proximity, curvy girl gets her mountain man romance. Kim is a smart and curvy college English professor from 2025 who has just found out her boyfriend has cheated on her multiple times. She has left to get away when her car breaks down. Cade is a hunky, grumpy, mountain man and homesteader from 1857. When Kim suddenly finds herself back in time, she is taken with the grump, as he is with her. Things get steamy, but then Cade is worried he will hold her back. Can Kim show him that she is not going anywhere? These two had great chemistry and the ending was so happy after some minor angst.

Found on the Prairie (Book 4 of The Original Mountain Man Series) by Frankie Love. I thought this was a good story. I liked how Kim and Riley sort of communicated without coming right out to say they time traveled but both knew they shared a connection. Kim is a strong character that recognizes a new chance when she sees it and she definitely see it with Cade. Cade wants to fight his feelings for Kim but once he knows she wants to stay, he is all in. I enjoyed their story and would recommend it to others looking for a short fast paced romance with HEA. This is another in the Found on the Prairie series, Kim was trying to get away from it all. She packed her car and hit the road, her car breaks down and there is no cell signal. She slips and she falls back in time. She comes across Lucy and her brother Cade (they are siblings to Wyatt, Stranded on the Prairie).
Kim freaks out when she finds out what year it is, Cade steps to protect his sister from her tirade. Cade and Kim have chemistry but he is afraid to make commitment when all she left in the future, why would she want to stay.

This is a continuation from book 3. So you see Wyatt and Riley for a little bit but this is his brother Cade story! So you see him deal with his emotions from book 3. You get to see Lucy again and fall in love with her again. She is the best little sister ever. Then we meet Kim. A beautiful smart woman. She kind of freaks out at first but she grows to love the time there and Cade. They see something in each other that I love. This one was a bit more emotional but I loved it. Cute quick story. Ready for the next one.

After catching her boyfriend cheating on her, Kim packed her car and left. She just needed to get away. When her car broke down on the side of the road, she tried to get a cell signal and fell, slipping back in time to the year 1857, where Cade and his sister Lucy find her and help her. Cade and Kim had an instant attraction, and I loved him for her, especially after how bad her boyfriend was with her. This is a well written, instalove, time travel romance with likable characters who had me cheering them on to get them to get their happily ever after. Found on the Prairie is book four in The Original Mountain Man series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

This is book 4 in Found on the Prairie series. An instalove novella about time travel and finding love in another time period. Kim is a college professor and just found out her boyfriend has been cheating with her students when she accidentally stumbled into a time portal. Cade is suspicious of this mysterious lady who doesn't fit in the 1800s. Fast read. Enjoying the short stories in this series.

Kim's car strands her in the middle of nowhere, and she soon finds out she's no longer in the twenty-first century. Cade finds her and begins to see similarities between Kim and the woman his brother recently married. The attraction between Cade and Kim is immediate, but they have issues to resolve. This is an excellent short read with the best happy ending.

Book 4 of Found on the Prairie story of Kim and Cade. Now that’s is a quick and hot filled romance that makes this reader want to travel back in time to simpler times and hard work. I giggle at the way these two meet and fall hard and fast. But love comes from out of no where when you least expect it.

I really enjoyed this out of time story. Kim has fallen from the 21st century to 1857. There she meets Cade and his sister Lucy who take her in. It’s not long before Cade and Kim fall for each other. This is a short story, great characters and well written for such a quick read. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

A quick and sweet story of another lost in time girl getting her bearings in the 1850s Colorado prairie. I like that she found a way to be useful in the time period and that Cade finally accepted her into his family.
I hope Lucy can get a man and it would be great if he were from a different time too.

Another story of the Originals Mountain Man, Cade was traveling home with his sister when they found Kim, who was missing, helped by taking her home. The attraction between Kim and Cade was ebinmediata, but the future seemed uncertain for them. Love the plot, the end, the whole book is a very good reading.

She is definitely out of her element when she travels back in time. I loved the way the hero takes everything in stride and still manages to win her over. I really enjoyed the way the town has others who traveled back in time as well.
