This book was the first that I’ve read by this author and it was a solid slow-burn thriller for me.
This one follows Detectives Graves and Carter investigating Victor Langston’s murder, but pretty quickly you realize this family has a lot going on beneath the surface and everybody seems to have something to hide. I liked that the story didn’t rush the twists. It slowly peeled things back layer by layer and kept me wanting to know what was really going on.
The atmosphere was probably my favorite part. The mansion setting, family tension, secrets and constant suspicion gave it that quieter psychological thriller vibe instead of nonstop action.
The writing was easy to get into and kept me engaged the whole way through. If you like family drama mixed with murder investigations and slow-building suspense, this one is worth checking out.

The detective duo completely pulled me in they were smart, real and with just the right amount of edge. The story is full of suspense and twists, but it’s never over the top or confusing. There’s just enough mystery, secrets, and tension to keep you hooked from start to finish. Todd Morgan does a really great job of building the world and keeping you guessing without making it feel forced. If you like thrillers or crime related books that make you think and keep you on edge this one’s definitely worth picking up.

5 stars - this was a fantastic mystery/thriller. I felt like I was alongside Detectives Graves and Carter as they were trying to solve Victor’s murder. As a Criminal Minds fan, this definitely was right up my alley and I loved every second reading it. Up until chapter 22-23, I had absolutely no idea how this book was going to wrap up with only a few chapters left, tell me who did it, why they did it, and how they did it. The ending was super! I felt like I had answers to all of my questions when I closed the book.

Well this starts of as a fun who done it, then quickly turns into so much more
It felt like every page had a new truth be discovered that led the officers into a new direction, so many twists and turns that kept me on my toes
With each new revelation, the story becomes more intricate and more of the game is revealed, with conspiracy theories, sabotage, betrayal, systematic infection, this book kept me entertained

“The Last Quiet Move” by Todd Morgan is a tense and atmospheric thriller that keeps you guessing until the very end. The story slowly pulls you into its mystery with strong suspense, emotional depth, and unexpected twists. Morgan does a great job creating a dark, uneasy mood that makes the book hard to put down. 3.5 stars. This was a good and engaging read, though I honestly felt at times that I wasn’t smart enough to be reading it. It is filled with twists, layers, and secrets that keep you guessing until the last page. If you enjoy slow burn psychological suspense, crime dramas, and the exposure of systemic corruption, you’ll enjoy this book.

It was like reading an episode of criminal minds and I was so annoyed (in the best way) the whole time. Like, WHAT IS GOING ON. Then it clicked.
