M. Isidora Forrest is the author of more than a dozen books and articles on the Egyptian Goddess Isis and modern spiritual magic. She has been devoted to Isis for most of her life. She is an initiate of the House of Isis, an ordained priestess in the international Fellowship of Isis, a senior Hermetic adept, a maenad for Dionysos, and a founder of the Hermetic Fellowship, a non-profit devoted to education in the Western Esoteric Tradition.

Isidora lives and works in the not-at-all-Egypt-like climate of Portland, Oregon with her husband Adam Forrest, a fierce black cat, and both a Temple of Isis and a grape arbor sacred to Dionysos in the backyard.

I have always wanted to learn more about the goddess Isis as she is considered one of the supreme goddesses of mythology. Like many readers, this book came into my life at an auspicious time when synchronicity and astrological configurations conspired to introduce me to this book.

In Isis Magic, readers will learn everything they need to know about the goddess. From her Egyptian history, occult significance, and how to commune with her as a devotee and acolyte. I was blown away by the depth of knowledge of this book, which I am sure was channeled just as much as it was researched. I particularly enjoyed learning about her symbolic value in the occult world as this information is normally scattered across many different books and writings. To have everything compiled into this book was very helpful. The second half of the book focused on rituals and experiential practices to connect with Isis. While this information may not appeal to many out there, it was interesting to read about, as it brought all of the historiography of the first half of the book into practical use.

I have read about the goddess Isis in many different books over the years, but they don't come even close to the wisdom and breadth of knowledge contained in this book. It seems it was written by a true adept of the Isis mysteries, so prepare to be initiated into the goddess Isis' life, spirit, magic, and heart.

Thank you to the publisher for providing me with a free arc via Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review.
