Lando Burlington, the eleventh duke of Oxfordshire, is back on the market as England’s most eligible bachelor.
It’s a title he’d sooner burn to the ground, especially following the fallout of his ‘almost’ wedding. It doesn’t help that his mother is trying to set him up with every single woman in the country, none of whom he’s interested in. The final straw is when she rents out his former pre-marital home to Holiday Simpson. . . America’s sweetheart and box-office favorite.
Holiday needs a break from the chaos of Hollywood - replacing red carpets for green fields - and Valentine Nook, Oxfordshire, seems just the place to do that.
But she didn’t count on her new landlord.
With his piercing blue eyes and hard set jaw, he’s as handsome as he is grumpy. And that’s nothing to say of his bronze, sculpted muscles she wishes she hadn’t noticed when she took a wrong turn down a country lane.
For Lando, avoiding Holiday is impossible in a village as small as Valentine Nook, but he starts to wonder if maybe she’s not as terrible as he originally thought. Especially when she smiles at him.
It doesn’t matter though, Holiday’s visit is temporary. This isn’t the movies. She’s not looking for her one true love, and doesn’t need to be swept off her feet.
Except as summer turns to autumn it’s clear they’re going off script, and Lando must find a new ending to their story before it’s too late.
Lulu started writing by accident, and somehow found herself stuck in a fictional world of ice hockey, baseball and billionaires. A world she has no plans to leave. She's the creator of The New York Players Series, The Tuesday Club Series, and The New York Lions - the worst team in the M.L.B.
More recently she's ventured across the Atlantic to where her latest novel is set - the beautiful cities of Oxford and Cambridge, and the annual rowing showdown on the River Thames.
She's a big fan of strong heroines, because those fierce alphas need someone to keep them in check. You'll find her navigating her way through Romance Land one HEA at a time, and trying to figure out the latest social media platform she needs to post to.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I loved it. I always smiled and just enjoyed so much the reading. It made me happy. It’s a perfect rom com, cute, enjoyable and entertaining, light but still having the right dept, funny and with such a likable cast of characters! I’m obsessed with the family, all of the scenes between them are so good and just hilarious. There are a few little things that could have been done better, but I don’t care, it’s a rom com, I want it to give me that warm feeling, make me laugh, smile, have heart eyes for the romance, and this book did all of that.
Holiday and Lando are lovely together🩷. There’s an element of insta attraction, but then they spend time together, get to really know each other and fall in love, there’s a great development with the right pacing and actual connection that forms, they have different personalities but in some ways are similar and manage to really understand each other. There’s tension, banter, they are sweet and cute and with great chemistry. I was so invested in them from the start and almost got teary eyed when Holiday time in England ended.
This has a high chance of having secured the spot of my favorite of the series no matter how the other books will be, don’t get me wrong, the blurb for book 3 about Hendricks sounds good and Miles (book 4?) is so funny, but Lando’s character and his story here gave me strong Anthony Bridgerton vibes so 🤭, let’s just say he’s my favorite and had a head start from the beginning.
Five stars as I hate it when someone 1 stars a book that's not even been released. Such a mean thing to do. Some people are deffo missing the kindness gene. 😬
This book was so good, I really enjoyed it easy five stars
I am VERY excited about this series! I wanted to start with that. I was drooling over myself with all of these hot dukes and Englishmen in the prequel to the series. So when I found out that our very own Holiday would be the FMC- I was excited! Her and Lando were such complete opposites. He was SUCH a grump with a bad outlook on life since finding his fiance cheating on him with his best friend. Holiday is trying to climb out of burn out from life in Hollywood. She is looking for somewhere to unplug which is how she finds herself in Valentine Nook. I have to say that the town was a character in my mind in this book! Lulu did such a good job of making it so quaint and full of character. I wanted it to be a real place so that I could visit. I loved the build up between these two. Their meet cute was anything but. And then we had the few other times they met without a positive outcome. But there was something about Holiday that kept getting Lando's attention. Even though he tried to fight it. This was a strangers to friends to more. It was the perfect progression! Watching Lando come out of his shell and put his heart out there again. Him realizing that he had not felt this way about someone before. And Holiday being terrified to fully open up to this being a forever thing versus a summer thing. They were just so cute together!!
Holiday has needed a break from reality which is how she has found herself in the English countryside renting a cottage from a stranger. A stranger who is actually pretty rude to her- Lando Burlington. Upon further investigation it becomes clear that Lando did not know that she was renting out his cottage. In fact he didn't know anyone was renting his cottage. It also becomes clear that the man is a grump. But then the more time she spends around him the more intriguing he becomes. She starts to see the man underneath the protective layer of grumpiness, and she finds herself wanting more. So they start spending time together all while she relaxes and stops thinkins about what is next. She tries to enjoy the moment and what a great setting to do that in. She finds herself warming up to Lando's sister. She finds herself enjoying his family's company. She finds herself surprised at the little gestures this man is doing to make her enjoy her time. And now she finds herself on dates with him. In the spotlight with him. In bedsheets with him. She has tried hard to protect her heart from falling for him since their time together has an end date unless she is able to chase her actual dreams which would be him and a theater.
Lando has been in a funk since his life all came crashing down. He was supposed to be married. Supposed to be happy, but the more he is on the other side of his breakup with his fiance the more he realizes he was not invested. He was checking boxes. And now he has to fight his mother over his new tenant. Someone he didn't even know was coming- Hollywood's sweetheart. Though he is kind of rude the first few times he meets her, he realizes he wants to make things right. He wants her to enjoy her time her. And the more he realizes he can't stop thinking about her. Her smile. The joy she seems to radiate. The way she makes him feel. Which is how he finds himself swinging by her cottage more and more. Engaging in conversation with her more and more. How does this feel so different than anything with his fiance ever did? He feels alive again. Like there is something to look forward to. Which is how he finds himself saying yes to a date. Yes to more. Yes to her in his bed. And yes to trying something even if there is an end date. But then why does there have to be an end date? They both have access to money. They could make this work. He just has to prove to Holiday that he is in this for the long haul. That he is not willing to give up so easily.
I really liked this intro to our new world of Englishmen and ladies! I had a few hang ups that made this not a full five star for me. I felt like there was unresolved tension with Lando and his BF even though they kind of engaged in a convo. I also felt like the spice in this one was lacking. I found myself wanting more than a page or two. We got glimpses of how hot things could be but they kind of fell flat for me. Overall though very much enjoyed. And I have to say thank you Lulu for giving us Haven and Alex's story next!!
Thank you to Valentine PR and to Lulu for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!
If Lulu Moore writes it, then I need to read it!! Last year I fell in love with her books and since then I'm addicted to her stories, no matter the genre. I was fortuned enough to be accepted by the author and Valentine Pr for an e-ARC of her latest book and I wanna thank them for it!!
When Holiday Simpson, a famous actress, needed a break from that crazy Hollywood life, she ended up staying at a place in Valentine Nook which was owned by the Duke of Oxfordshire. Orlando 'Lando' Burlington has recently been through a pretty rough break up with his ex-fiancee, from which he was still recovering. That was one of the reasons he didn't want Holiday to be staying in his old house, because his meddling mother couldn't get her peace until she didn't see Lando married. But can grumpy Lando resist the gorgeous actress who seemed to be everywhere in the small town of Valentine Nook?
Even from the start, the relationship between Lando and Holiday had a deadline, knowing that she had to go back to her actual life. Even if their time was limited, they slowly discovered each other and saw what was in their hearts, which made it was easy to fall pretty hard for each other. I always love when a big, meddling family is included in a story and this one hasn't disappointed me at all. They were all super fun, Lando having many siblings with whom he was really close to. Things with Holiday seemed so good but could Lando pass the fact that she will have to leave him and that small town in the end? Can he handle another heartbreak?
I simply adored this new series of Lulu, having so much fun reading it. I loved this little town and how everyone supported each other. Also, the insane chemistry between grumpy Lando and gorgeous Holiday was incredible and I enjoyed so much to follow their constant banter and to see how perfect they were for each other. I cannot wait for the next book in this series!😍
“Nerves don’t exist tonight. In fact, I realize, they rarely do around Holiday anymore. Spending time with her is easy. Talking to Holiday is easy. Because to her, I’m just Lando, her landlord. She doesn’t want my title or my money. She wants nothing more from me than my time, and for her, I have all of it and more.”
“Hollywood’s sweetheart and my defender rolled into one. And just like that, I become her biggest fan.”
I am so happy to be back with the Burlington family! First off if you haven’t read Once Upon A Christmas Tree, do it! It’s so great! Now to Lando and Holiday, when we meet these two they are both suffering. Lando is grumpy and short with everyone around him. And Holiday needed a break after working years on end until she accomplished her goals in acting. In this story we have a great scene setting of the English country side. A small town where love is the center the heart of the town. It’s here where Holiday finds peace and Lando finds his happiness again. I loved this sweet read so much!
Tropes: Grumpy x Sunshine English Duke Hollywood Actress Small Town Forced Proximity
Cute, take it or leave it. ------ So I've read a little too far ahead of my two Christmas BR... so the only answer was to start another as a buffer. I know this is a Valentine book, but still in the spirit of the holidays, so it works out... right?
Lulu Moore has done it again. I absolutely adored Valentine Nook!
We first met the Burlington family in Once Upon a Christmas Tree, and I’ve been eagerly awaiting Lando’s story ever since. Lulu takes the cozy small-town setup I love and gives it a fresh spin by setting it in a charming English village. Valentine Nook feels so real and alive that I want to pack up and move there immediately.
Lando and Holiday are perfection together. Their romance hooked me from their waterfall meet cute to a gorgeous fireworks scene that left me swooning. The grumpy/sunshine dynamic is there, but Lando’s grump doesn’t stand a chance once Holiday walks into his life. Their close proximity sparks all kinds of tension, and every interaction had me grinning nonstop.
Holiday slips seamlessly into village life, especially through her fast friendship with Clemmie, which made me love her even more. The banter between the Burlington siblings is another highlight, and I’m already desperate for more books featuring this crew. And of course, Thunder completely steals every scene he’s in.
Because it wouldn’t be a Lulu Moore romance without the details, I have to mention Lando’s wood-and-amber scent and the black ribbed cashmere sweater moment that immediately became a favorite. Lulu always knows how to make her heroes unforgettable.
Valentine Nook is heartwarming, funny, and swoony in the best way. It made me so happy from beginning to end.
Thank you so much to Lulu for the early ARC. I couldn’t put this one down!
Lando was very against his mother renting out bluebell Cottage to anyone, much less to an American Actress. He definitely did not anticipate being naked the first time they meet.
“As I wipe the water from my eyes, I remember I’m stark naked. Before I can say anything or cover myself, she darts away back down the path leading toward Bluebell Cottage. So that’s my tenant. Fan-fucking-tastic.” 🌶️🌶️️.5
I was so in love with this book. The idyllic countryside and the way Lulu portrayed Valentine Nook had me wanting to hunt down my own little cottage, book a plane ticket to England and escape for a little while! Lando is so dang grumpy when we meet him, and Holiday is this sweet little sunshine, even if she’s a bit burnt out. Their meet cute is definitely one to tell the grandkids about! There were so many moments in this story that made me awe, and swoon, and giggle from Lando making sure there are fireworks, donuts, and a life sized stuffed teddy bear. [Not to mention the wee little sneak peak we get of the next book!!]
“And when it finally happens, and her tongue slips alongside mine with a soft moan, I realize that I must have been doing it wrong my entire life. This is how kissing should feel.”
Valentine Nook is a small-town English romance with strong family vibes, plenty of charm, and two main characters who slowly (and sweetly) fall for each other while navigating life, love, and all the messiness that comes with both.
I liked the chemistry between Holiday (yes, that's really the girl's name) and Lando, and appreciated how naturally their relationship evolved over the course of the story. The family dynamics added warmth and depth, and the English setting gave everything a comforting, almost idyllic feel that made it easy to sink into.
Now… the spicy scenes. 😅 I don’t know if it’s me, if pillow talk has officially entered its cringe era, or if I’ve simply aged out of whatever is currently considered hot - but those scenes were not doing it for me. At times I found myself more amused than intrigued. (Please tell me I’m not alone in this 🙈)
That said, Valentine Nook was a sweet, enjoyable romance, and despite a few personal nitpicks, it was a nice, cozy read.
This book is perfect for anyone who loved watching Bridgerton, but with a fun, modern twist set in 2025. Lighthearted, entertaining, and with just the right amount of spice to keep you hooked.
I received this ARC through Valentine PR, and huge thanks to Lulu Moore for allowing me to read an early copy.
Meet Lando and Holiday—two complete opposites who somehow fit together like puzzle pieces. We first met Holiday in Home Run, as Tanner’s twin sister. Back then, she immediately caught our attention: the Hollywood twin, stunningly beautiful with blonde hair, striking blue eyes, slender and radiant, with that undeniable star quality.
Lando (Orlando), on the other hand, is part of London’s elite. His family has owned Valentine Nook for over 500 years, and he’s now the eleventh heir to the legacy. After being betrayed and deeply hurt by those he trusted most, he lost all faith in love.
So when Holiday arrived in town, it was nothing short of a shock for him. The last thing he wanted was to deal with a famous American actress. But fate has its own plans—and one thing led to another… until love blossomed beautifully. Watching their journey was pure delight: the first touch, the first date, the first kiss… and the first you know what. Absolutely exquisite.
Another highlight for me was the siblings—Alex, Milo, Hendricks, and Clemmie—all so charming and well-written. I also loved how this story connects with Once Upon a Christmas Tree and I’m beyond excited about the teaser for the next book, which promises a trope I absolutely adore (no spoilers from me 👀).
Tropes you’ll find:
✨Duke x Hollywood actress ✨American x Londoner ✨Age gap (34/25) ✨A steamy scene in a… waterfall 🌊 ✨Spice level: 3.5/5
You know that feeling when a book pulls you so deeply into its world that you can’t bear to leave once it ends? That was me with this story. Valentine Nook isn’t just a backdrop — it’s a place you long to stay. Think rustic charm, country-chic vibes! Neighboys who casually offer you homemade goods from their prouduce, inviting you for afternoon tea, roses blooming perfectly, miles of green countryside, and of course, a goat that escapes just often enough to keep everyone on their toes.
Lando and Holiday are proof that timing is never neat. Both have been carrying the weight of the world long before they should have had to. When their lives collide in Valentine Nook, it isn’t just a love story — it’s a reckoning of heartbreak, resilience, clarity, and the courage to finally go after what the heart has wanted all along. What follows is a slow unraveling of defenses, equal parts laugh-out-loud banter and gut-punch emotion.
I’ve loved the Duke since his infamous drunk-on-a-plane scene, sunglasses and the questionable party accessories in tow. But what made him unforgettable was how raw his story felt. The night before his wedding, he walked in on his fiancée and his best friend doing the dirty. In that moment, everything shifted. Lando has since buried his pain beneath work and a hard, polished exterior, refusing to let anyone close.
Enter Holiday Simpson. Award-winning actress, glowing career, but bone-deep exhausted. She came to Valentine Nook for quiet and anonymity, not to get tangled with the town’s most guarded resident. And yet, slowly and unexpectedly, she did.
What I adored was the way Holiday didn’t fix Lando, but she reminded him of who he really was before heartbreak hardened him. And in turn, he helped her peel back the layers of fame and find the woman she almost forgot she could be. Together, they didn’t reinvent themselves so much as reclaim the best pieces of who they’d always been. Watching them stumble, spark, and grow into that was beautiful, tender, and impossible to put down.
There's just something to be said about a grumpy Englishman, am I right? I absolutely ate up this story and I loved Lando and Holiday so much! He fell so hard for her and they honestly deserved this happy ending! We've all grown to love Holiday so much through Lulu's other books and Lando was exactly what she needed.
What you'll get: - Grumpy/Sunshine - Small english village - She's a Hollywood actress - He's a Duke - He falls first and harder - Banter and amazing side characters
I need a megaphone to shout from the rooftops just how much I loved this book. In fact somebody get me the people homage movies, because this was a movie waiting to happen.
I love every single thing LULU writes, but this one, this one gave me all the feels, gave my heart butterflies and reminded me of all the romances I fell in love with as a child.
✨ Grumpy x Sunshine ✨ Vacation Romance ✨ English Duke x Hollywood Actress ✨ Close Proximity ✨ Family Vibes ✨ Cozy cottagecore vibes
This one is Noting Hill meets The Holiday, meets a Nancy Meyers Aesthetic, meets a jaunt in the English countryside. If you don't understand my rambling, just know this book is picturesque, will make your heart happy and is quite literally perfection.
Lando and Holiday are all I've ever wanted. We've met both of them previously but seeing them together and watching them fall for each other... cue the excited giggling. There is just something about a grumpy x sunshine that gets me every time, but when that grump is also a certified English Duke... yes please.
But what I really loved about this book was how much heart it has. It's grounded in family and finding out who you are with the right person and what you want out of life, and the way Lulu writes these characters is a masterpiece. I was falling in love right along side them, and I just couldn't put this down.
I also have to give a huge shoutout to James Joseph and Andi Arndt who did a fabulous job and made me feel like I was watching a live performance. The way these two made me feel totally immersed in all the different character and accents is talent beyond measure. This book was already a SIX ⭐️ read but having it is audio just made it all the stars every single one of them.
This one goes in my book hall of fame, and quite possibly may be one of my top reads of the year!
“Our big brother has a thumping great crush on our Hollywood starlet, and they have nicknames for each other.”
Thank you so much Lulu for this early copy of Valentine Nook! To nobody’s surprise, I absolutely devoured it and loved every second in my new favourite village!
Hollywood actress Holiday Simpson- Baseball star Tanner’s twin sister- needs a break from the spotlight and finds herself at Bluebell cottage in Valentine Nook, where Duke of Oxfordshire Lando Burlington her new landlord is less than pleased to have her. But after a couple of tense initial encounters, Lando realises perhaps his new tenant isn’t quite as bad as he thought….in fact, maybe he’s actually rather keen on her….
I’ve been so looking forward to this book since meeting Lando and his brothers in Once upon a Christmas Tree. I’ve been a fan of Holiday since we met her in The Baller- and again in Home Run- so loved that she was going to be the one to help Lando find happiness. He’s had a tough time since catching his ex finance and best friend together the night before his wedding last year, and despite his mother’s best efforts hasn’t yet met another women he’s been interested in.
The chemistry and banter between Lando and Holiday was so good- and even at times where they were surrounded by others, they often have their own quiet moments just between the 2 of them where you can really feel their connection.
The village, its residents- both human and animal- and the Burlington family members are all incredible side characters in this book. You can truly picture being in Valentine Nook as you read, Lulu brings it to life so vividly. This is such an original take on a small town romance.
And as for what’s next, we get some big hints about Wylder Ranch- I’m already counting down the days!
I’m not sure how she’s done it, but I may have a new favourite Lulu Moore book!
Welcome to Valentine Nook, the newest addition to the Luluverse, and the first book in the Valentine Nook Chronicles. It’s a Grumpy x Sunshine Romance, where he’s an English Duke, and she’s a Hollywood Actress, set in a charming small village, with a host of hilarious (and slightly chaotic) side characters. Need I say more?!
I seriously couldn’t help but fall in love with this book and these characters! Especially after just visiting the Cotswolds, where the fictional village of Valentine Nook is set, it just felt so magical!!
Also, I don’t know if this makes sense AT ALL but (to me) Valentine Nook has the VIBES of a Cowboy Romance and Billionaire Romance combined! To be clear Lando is not a cowboy, he’s a Grumpy English Duke, that occasionally rides a horse. But there was just something in the essence of this book that felt akin to the feeling I get reading a Cowboy Romance… take with that what you will!
Overall, I adooored this book and cannot WAIT for the rest of the series!
INFINITE STARS!!! THIS BOOK WAS AMAZING, BEAUTIFUL, SPECTACULAR, WAS EVERYTHING!!!!
¿Saben algo?

You know what? I don't think this author has written a single book that I didn't like, which is undoubtedly why she's one of my favorites.
The story of Lando and Holiday is one of those that makes you smile. It felt like a breath of fresh air, it felt good to read, and above all, I felt all the love that these two characters grew for each other throughout the pages. The side characters (Lando's family) were spectacular, they gave the whole story a unique touch (I WANT THE MILES BOOK RIGHT NOW)
I don't have words to express how much I loved this book, I already want to reread it, I want someone to fall in love with me as strongly as Lando fell in love with Holiday, I want Lulu to write my life story, I want many things after reading this beautiful book, which, by now, you must know was a very but very good one.
📌 I received an e-arc, and this is my honest opinion/review of it.
Valentine Nook might be my FAVORITE Lulu Moore book yet.
Lulu makes this little English village feel so alive that I wanted to pack my bags and move there immediately.
Lando and Holiday completely stole my heart. From their waterfall not so meet cute to that fireworks scene, I was gone. Their chemistry was off the charts, but what really got me were the quiet moments. There’s this line from Lando that destroyed me (& another from Holiday, like I was crying fat tears, I'm sensitive):
“And we can talk. We talk, and laugh, and have s*x. It’s all incredible. But this, this quietness, there’s an intimacy to it I’ve never had before. It fills my chest with a kaleidoscope of colors, warming me to the depths of my soul and reaffirming what I’ve known for a long time. Maybe since the day I met her. I love Holiday Simpson.”
Tell me that doesn’t make you SWOON. My heart was GUSHING.
Holiday was sunshine in human form. I loved watching her fit into the village so easily, especially with Clemmie, and the banter between the Burlington siblings had me laughing out loud. One of my favorite things about Lulu is that she always shows us the personalities of the side characters before we get to their main books. It just makes you appreciate them more (and obviously beg for their books ASAP).
This book was heartwarming, funny, swoony, and just everything I wanted. Lulu balances romance and village life so perfectly, and I already know I’m going to be obsessed with whatever comes next (Wylder Ranch, I’m looking at you. I'm a SUCKER for accidental pregnancy).
Thank you to Lulu, again, for the ARC—I inhaled this book and loved every second.
I think I have a new favourite @lulumoorebooks series!! 🤭 Absolutely everything about this book; the characters, the setting, the animal sidekicks, the banter, was absolute 10/10 perfection. *Chefs kiss* No notes.
We were introduced to the Burlington’s in the holiday novella, Once Upon A Christmas Tree (which I highly recommend for people to read first) and I immediately fell in love with them. I think there’s just something about the British banter that feels so familiar (I’m from Ireland) so this series is hitting at a whole new level 👏🏼
I freaking love Lando 😍 He’s the perfect grumpy, broody Duke, but I loved getting to know the happier guy underneath 🥹 He was stubborn and determined not to like Holiday, and it was so fun to watch him fall hard 🤭
Holiday has been teased as such a fun girls girl since we met her in the NYL series, and I loved getting to see the “imperfect” side of her, the one that’s happy in wellies instead of walking the red carpet, and how she just slots in so perfectly with the Burlingtons! 🥹
One of the things I love most about Lulu’s books is the family vibes! You don’t just connect to the main characters, but you also fall in love with the whole family and that just grows with each new book in a series 🥹 I already loved Alex and Haven but now after these little teasers I’m so excited for their full book next! 😍
Thank you so much to Lulu and Valentine PR for the opportunity to read Lando and Holiday’s book early! ❤️ I’ve already used my Audible credit today to download the audio for my reread 🤭
Tropes: 🍩 Grumpy x Sunshine 🇬🇧 English Duke x American Actress 🍩 Forced Proximity 🇬🇧 He’s her Landlord 🍩 Animal Sidekicks 🇬🇧 Billionaire Romance 🍩 Small English Village
As every Lulu Moore writes a book that I love from start to finish.
This book has everything I look for in a book a great story, banter and steamy scene.
Lando and holidays characters are so connectable even when Lando is grumpy you love him, the banter between the brothers has you LOL, there sister Clementine she hit it off with Holiday straight away even these two have lol moments.
Holidays character I have loved since meeting her the New York Lions series and see her character grow in this made me so happy.
I love the the little titbits about Alex’s he still hung up on haven
Can ‘t wait for book 2 and the other 3 books as I love all of these characters
First off I have to say this has been by far my favourite book this year. Thank you so much @lulumoorebooks and @valentine_pr_ for the opportunity to read it as an ARC. I have dreaded to finish the book because I didn’t want to leave Valentine Nook. I’m pretty sure I have a new favourite place in the book world and would like to move there right away. Lando and Holiday were something else. Their dynamic and banter was something everyone wishes for in a relationship. Lulu has such a gift in her writing and creativity how she creates characters you want to be friends with and a place you want to live yourself. This is what I love about reading. I could imagine walking through valentine nook myself. Having a drink at the one true love with Eddie or ride through the fields with Lando and holiday. It’s magical and I am so sad we have to wait for the next book now. I need it like right away 🤣❤️
100% put this book on your TBR and pre order it ❤️
ROMANCE IS BACK PEOPLE!! Oh lordy, this was beyond amazing. 🥰 I love Lulu's writing, and her characters are always so charming and funny, but this book... this book took all my expectations and blew them away. It was so good.😭 The setting, the family bonds, and the romance were impeccable. It's been a long minute since a book had me kicking my feet in the air and giggling like a looney, and this book achieved that. This book had everything I love in my romances: the swooning, the small details, the longing, the softness... the "I wish I was them"... it was fantastic. 🩷 As someone who has read every single Lulu book, this one is definitely top tier (Rafe is still #1!). So, I definitely recommend this one.🙌
Thank you so much, my dear Lulu, for the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
I absolutely adored Holiday & Lando, and everything about this book! 💖
Thank you Valentine PR for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

since reading Once Upon a Christmas Tree last year I’ve been intrigued & waiting for more from this adorable little town & this royal family 🥰
Valentine Nook did NOT disappoint, and I’m so happy we only have to wait until November for the next one 😍
Holiday & Lando are EVERYTHING their meet cute is hilarious & perfection 💦
THE WAY HE WAS SO DOWN BAD and so in denial - my fav kind of fictional man 🤭 the FIREWORKS!! 🎆
Her immediate friendship with Clementine (his sister) is the sweetest 🧡 I loved how his brothers continuously taunted him 😅
his entire family is just the best and this series is set up SO WELL - I can’t wait for them all!
📖 Valentine Nook by Lulu Moore 📚 book 1 • The Valentine Nook Chronicles 💜: contemporary romance
This is only my second book by Lulu but I’ve been so looking forward to it since meeting Lando and his brothers in Once upon a Christmas Tree (a prequel you don’t HAVE to read before this one bit which I def recommend you do read at some point)!
This story is absolutely addictive and charming from page one. In fact, the delightful and vivid village of Valentine Nook feels so real that I want to move there immediately and have a donut. 🍩
Grumpy x Sunshine English Duke Hollywood Actress Small Town Forced Proximity
I adore a grumpy/sunshine dynamic — and this one has that in the foundational stages of the story — but Lando’s grumpiness was no match for his feelings for Holiday and watching them form a fun friendship and then so much more was just wonderful. I found myself grinning nonstop.
These two MCs are so good together. Holiday didn’t “fix” Lando — she gently and beautifully reminded him who he really was before he put walls around his heart. And he made her feel loved for who she is — not what she can do for him. Being an actress, it is a feeling she isn’t used to and watching her just be herself with him was so great!
I also adored Lando’s siblings—Alex, Milo, Hendricks, and Clemmie—all so charming and well-written. I can’t wait for their stories (especially Alex, whose story we def get a teaser of in this book - expanding, of course, on what we learned in Once Upon a Christmas Tree)!
Valentine Nook is heartwarming, entertaining, swoony and spicy in perfect combination. It made me so happy from beginning to end — and I devoured it in one sitting.
#gifted What does Lulu put in her books that make me absolutely obsessed with them?! 😭 This was an amazing feel-good, grumpy/sunshine, small village romance that I could not put down!
THOUGHTS 💭 💘 I absolutely adored the description of the small village of Valentine Nook; in the first chapter, without having dived into the characters and the drama and the spice, I fell in love with this town and its inhabitants. And once I met the characters and experienced the drama and spice? I was hooked. 💘 When I saw that Holiday (Tanner’s sister) was the FMC of this story, I squealed! I loved her in Home Run and was so happy to watch her love story play out in this book. You do not have to read any previous books to love this story. 💘 Lulu writes the BEST banter and camaraderie between her characters! The family/found family in this book was everything. 💘 I love that grumpy Lando (who has sworn off love) couldn’t help but want Holiday, very much in spite of himself. Lando was a capable, hot MMC. 🔥 💘 The chemistry between Lando and Holiday is next-level! I loved these two together and the good and happiness they brought out of each other. 💘 “Vacation Holiday” and “Lando’s Holiday” are good reminders of the real people behind the celebrities we see on social media and in the tabloids. Holiday was a down to earth, plucky, and sweet FMC who I know you’ll love as much as I did.
Thanks so much to Lulu Moore and Valentine PR for the ARC of this book!
Thank you so much to Valentine PR and Lulu Moore for this dreamy ARC!
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I dove into this story with its royal undertones, but wow, it completely swept me off my feet. I devoured this book. It’s hands down one of the best romances I’ve read in months.
🎬 Holiday, an American actress, escapes the chaos of Hollywood for a peaceful retreat in the English countryside. She rents a stunning house, hoping for quiet… but instead, she meets her landlord—Duke Lando Burlington—naked in a waterfall. Yep, you read that right. And from that moment, sparks fly.
Lando is brooding, beautiful, and fresh off a broken engagement. He’s got walls up and anger simmering beneath the surface, but Holiday cracks through it. Their connection is magnetic, tender, and full of tension, the kind that makes you believe in forever. But reality doesn’t wait, and Holiday’s time in England has an expiration date…
💭 I adored this book. Every character felt so real, and the chemistry? Off the charts. Lando is such a soft-hearted grump, and watching him fall for Holiday was everything. If you’re craving a romance with sizzling banter, emotional depth, and just the right amount of spice—this one’s for you.
Love love loved this book! My first Lulu Moore book and it did not disappoint! I’m in love with the vibes of Valentine Nook! I think the concept is so cute and the people in the village are amazing! To see how easily they welcomes Holiday was heartwarming! I loved how Lando and Holiday’s story started and evolved. Every character was adorable and I can’t wait for more of the Burlington family!
Lulu Moore is like a fine wine, her books keep getting better with time! I devoured Lando and Holidays story, and honestly, it might be one of my favorites so far. We've been anticipating this story for a while and I'm so happy to say that Lulu delivered...and then some!
We know Holiday from the New York Lions series, and we definitely see a deeper side to Holiday here. While she is definitely in a vulnerable state, she remains the tenderhearted, sassy, loyal friend we all know and love. I loved seeing her out of her comfort zone rediscovering her passion. Lando was such a great character! You can really feel the pressure he feels to fulfill his family legacy, his dedication to his brothers, and the uncertainty about his future. From the meet cute to their hilarious run ins about town, the chemistry between these two is undeniable... cue those fireworks 😉 . The way Holiday breaks down Landos walls, challenges him, and the way she really sees him was just brilliant. I loved how they really wrestled with their feelings for one another and chose to show up for the other person. Seeing them laugh together, tease each other, and fall in love made them feel so real, like you might know them personally.
I think what was so special about Valentine Nook is the relationships between the Burlington siblings, quirky animal companions, and the way the villagers show up for each other. The Burlington siblings are absolutely hilarious and reading Valentine Nook only spurred on my excitement for the rest of the series. (Especially for the woman who is going to knock Miles off his feet. IYKYK). If you're looking for a cozy romcom set in the most enchanting English Village then this is the book for you.
