New mother Shelly should be enjoying the happiest time of her life. She’s just given birth to a beautiful baby boy, Alfie.
But Alfie’s arrival has triggered something deep inside Shelly and now she finds herself at the mercy of crippling OCD and violent intrusive thoughts that terrify her. Desperate for help, she joins a therapy group led by renowned psychologist Dr Andrea Galanis.
It doesn’t work. Instead of helping, somehow therapy seems to be bringing her very worst fears to life.
What Shelly doesn’t realise is that someone from her dark past has infiltrated the group. And now she is sharing her most private secrets with a person who is determined to rip her life apart, one painful piece at a time.
With everything and everyone she cares about under threat, Shelly has a simple choice – confront the horrifying truth she’s kept hidden for almost twenty years, or face every mother’s worse nightmare – losing the child she loves.

Olivia/Jess wanted to make Shelly's life hell. She did. Repeatedly. She got her fired. She made her feel untrustworthy. She basically stalked and slept with Shelly's husband. Ok. I got the point.
However, I almost didn't finish this book because I got super ticked off when Olivia/Jess made it look like Shelly stole from the charity. Yeah, that hurts Shelly by getting her arrested and investigated for fraud. But that also hurts people who depend on the help they received from the charity. After that incident, I hated Olivia/Jess so much I actually hoped she would get found out.
It made my brain bleed that she went so far as stalking Shelly's mom and baby. I really hated her. By the cliff scene, I wanted her to fall off the cliff. I don't think she should have been allowed to go free in the mental hospital. I feel like she'll just "act" like she's cured and do the same thing to Shelly or others.

⭐⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 What if your safe space became the most dangerous place of all? From the very first chapter I knew this one would crawl under my skin. Dark and unsettling, where revenge turns into obsession, delusion and infatuation. Think modern day revenge thriller with elements of Fatal Attraction.
This is therapy gone very wrong! Shelly seeks therapy for her postpartum OCD and intrusive thoughts, but unbeknownst to her, someone’s using her darkest fears against her. The therapy she sort to heal, turns to horror.
The Therapy Room by is a gripping psychological thriller that will you have racing to the finish!
Thank you to NetGalley, Inkubator Books and the author for access to this ARC in exchange for an hilarious review.
This is the first book by this author I have read. Wonderful! I love it when I can find an author that I am thrilled with, straight out of the box. I know many reviewers tend to say this a lot, this book is truly addictive. I believe that is apropos. Every time I had to stop reading, I was thinking about the book. I was wondering what was going to happen next. At times, I had to really focus on what else I was doing because my mind kept going back to the book. Every chance I got, I would read a little. Read a little more. This is the true meaning of being addicted to a book. I can't wait to read other titles by this author. You need to read this for yourself, you will be just as addicted as I was. You will truly be wrapped up in everything that happens with this couple. Yes, I believe you will be shocked at the end. All of the twists and turns are what keeps you addicted!
Wow — this book completely blew me away! The Therapy Room is a dark, twisty psychological thriller that had me hooked from the very first chapter. OMJ Ryan does such an incredible job of pulling you into the story and making you question everyone and everything.
The characters are complex and flawed in the best way, and the tension just keeps building with every page. I thought I had the ending figured out several times, but I was totally wrong — and I loved that! Ryan’s writing is crisp, clever, and full of emotion, making this story impossible to put down.
If you enjoy thrillers that mess with your mind and keep you guessing right up to the final reveal, you need to read The Therapy Room. Another brilliant read from OMJ Ryan!
The Therapy Room by OMJ Ryan. This was a really good read. I loved the cover and blurb of this book. This is the 4th book I've read by this author. I wasn't sure how I felt about the characters. I liked the writing style and the story. The chapters were short and I read this book in two sittings. Oh my word I certainly didn't see that coming. What a twist. Wow. I definitely recommend this book.
My first book by this author- it was a suggested book by amazon. Not bad. Decent plot. It was interesting that the reader already knew what was going on all along, so not mystery in who was behind all of the framing of Shelly. The writing wasn’t great, and I’m not a fan of British books, but still found it entertaining for a quick read.
This book is written in dual POV between two FMC Shelly and Olivia. It’s really interesting to read from both POV and it gets you hook into it really easily. I was having a book slump after Alchemised and this quick thriller has managed to get me out of it.
This book is easy to read, very fast paced and get you engaged to flip to the next page to know more about the story.
I had to stay up late last night as I couldn't wait to see what happens! Brilliant story telling, it shows the different emotions people can go through, just when you've worked out the main plot, you realise, you hadn't
While visiting her Nan, Olivia recognizes Shelly the one who killed her brother Dan. Olivia infiltrates Shelly’s support group as Jessi and befriends her. This is a quick, twisty, and a bit predictable read. Thank you to the publisher for a copy.
It's impossible to give a 5-star review with so many errors. When I had to reread a sentence or several sentences to make it make sense due to errors,it definitely changed ability to enjoy this book. If it weren't for that, I would have loved this book.
Fantastic psychological thriller. Had me hooked from the first page. Well paced with characters you will love and thoroughly dislike, in equal measures. Explosive ending. I highly recommend this. OMJ Ryan has not disappointed in this genre.
I would have given this book 3.5 starts if I could. Better than a 3 but not a 4 star. I found the story unbelievable. I finished the book but can't say I enjoyed it
A woman tries to get revenge on a woman that killed her brother. She meets her in therapy group & changes her name to try to destroy her like. Enjoyed the novel
